Here two weeks ago and it was one of our favorite wineries out of 11 we sampled over the weekend. A beautiful setting with a very nice building and tasting facility. Their wines were all pretty good with better prices than just about everywhere else we went. Whoever said they were pricey hasnt done much tasting in Paso. We joined the club and took home quite a few and they taste just as good now as they did then. read more

A while back i visited this beautiful place called Wine Country in Paso Robles, CA and we did a small little tour of wine tasting throughout. This particular place "Pear Valley" was just outstanding from the other ones... the courteous staff, the knowledgeable tour guide, the facility cleanliness, the fields that were shown to us, the ambient just was glamorous! I fell enchanted by every detail soooo I had to become a member! Now, not the most active member but I reminisce on the place every time i receive my shipment of the freshest products. This place is just okay, but nothing great. The tasting room was nice. The counter was large and plenty of room to stand. Being that it was a festival weekend, they had live entertainment setting up and had just closed their food sample tasting. Darn. Food at this point during the day of wine tasting would have been a good thing. Pear Valley's wines remind me of Eagle Castle Winery. These wines are for the wine drinkers who want something slightly better than your average table wine; although, it would make a very nice table wine to drink. We were enticed by the sale price per case and hopeful the wine would be to our liking; however, we didn't buy anything in the end. read more

This winery was so welcoming! The view is nice here but I think other wineries offer better view if you want to take pictures and stuff. But the tasting room was beautiful. It had nice welcoming feel to it because it was spacious and the decorations are so cute. I LOVED how friendly the people are here. The lady that helped my group with our wine tasting was awesome. She was the best :D She gave insightful information and joked around with us, I thought she was the sweetest. The wine they had was great too! I'm not much of a wine person but I did enjoy their white wine, enough that I bought one :) I really like their dessert wine too, it was sweet enough to be dessert for me. My friends liked their red wine selection too, I think everything they offered up was good. There is a 5 dollar tasting fee but it is waved with a purchase of a bottle. A nice thing about this place is they serve meatballs along with their crackers. So you enjoy a couple of meatballs, cheese and crackers with your wine. read more

I went to this winery for my nieces wedding absolutely stunning grounds. Everything was picture-perfect until I met the staff and owner. I was a palled how they treated myself the bride family and friends. I worked at a winery for nine years for fun at Renwood in Amador County it's such a fun environment I don't understand especially when you're the owner of a winery to act in that manner blows my Flippin mind. For a new winery- they really have it going on. :) The atmosphere is extremely inviting and comfortable. We were there to look at the venue for our wedding location, and had so much fun we went back the next day to get some more cheese, wine, and book Pear Valley for our wedding venue. The tasting room has a very old italian rustic charm with large ceilings and floor to ceiling window/doors. Everyone was absolutely wonderful- and we even took home a case of wine. The wine was very young- so maybe next year we will shoot for 5 stars. We will keep going back everytime we visit Paso. :) read more

I would have picked zero stars if that was an option. I called for tasting reservation for a Saturday because it's my parent's anniversary and we have 10 family members that are visiting Paso for the first time. Only 5 people are tasting and the other 5 simply wanted to walk around the grounds and enjoy the view and scenery. I was told no, they don't take groups larger than 8. I reiterated that only 5 were tasting and it was a special occasion. I was promptly hung up on. It was the rudest experience and gave me a bad taste for the entire region. My wife and I live in San Diego and enjoy the central coast and this is our first trip to Paso with 8 of my family members from the Midwest. Super disappointed and I would never, ever recommend Pear Valley. read more

We had been to Paso many times before and always enjoyed the wine tasting experience. A nice lady at Bianchi Winery had recommended Pear Valley...we parked and enjoyed a nice game of corn hole out front. As soon as we walked through the door we were blatantly ignored. We spent a good ten minutes sipping water and trying to get the attention of anyone behind the counter. We didn't even get a nod of acknowledgement and then left. Another couple was walking out at the same time and offered their condolences and said that they felt awful that we had been ignored in such an aggressive way. Luckily every other winery around was nice and said that Pear Valley had a reputation for rudeness. I can't speak to their wine as I wasn't even given the chance to try it. If you're looking for a relaxing afternoon please pick somewhere else. I've never been treated like that and wouldn't want anyone else to feel the same disrespect. read more

We came to Pear Valley to attend a wedding yesterday. Two stars for the beautiful ceremony site that sits atop a hill and gorgeous grounds. Minus one star for only having 4 bathrooms total (2 for women and 2 for men) for a party of over 100 guests. The women's bathroom located right off of the main reception area was disgusting. It had toilet paper on the ground and a small waste basket that was overflowing with paper towels. I'm subtracting another 2 stars for the rude wait staff that tended to the outdoor reception tables--it started to sprinkle heavily and their response to repeated requests from the guests to draw the overhead awning was "oh it'll stop raining, it's not that bad." read more

I have lived in Paso for 5+ years and this is the only winery I'm a member of despite tasting 3-4 times a year. The wines are excellent, the venue is incredible, the staff is super nice and laid back. To top it off the prices are great and the club discount is even better. I did a tasting at my hotel and found these wines to be rather bland. They're highly acidic and lack depth. The neutral cheeses I ate with them were more flavorful. I realize they're trying to appeal to the environmentalists with solar this and that thingies. But in the process they're compromising the quality of their product. The acidity overpowers the flavor of the grapes in all their blend. Inspiration and Distraction were offensive to my salivary glands. Overall these wines are generic and uninspired. If you're uninitiated go for it. But if you know good wine, don't go here. FYI they didn't take a single medal at the Paso Robles annual wine competition. Not even an honorable mention. Seriously. You get what you pay for. Pear Valley is for virgins. ZERO stars. read more

In one word... SPECTACULAR! This vineyard made my trip last weekend. The staff was AMAZING, the Chardonnay was JUST AS AMAZING and the view was BEYOND WORDS ! If you are going wine tasting or just need a peaceful get away- this is the place. No stuffy dungeon to taste wine, you're sitting right beside the vineyard with views that will take your breath away. The ambiance is serene and the property is filled with statues, water fountains, a swing that overlooks the orchard and a hill top view that is like no other I've seen. New Years Eve Event 2017 Wanted to share our experience . Good Wine...beautiful place... But the Event was disappointing...the Event started at 6:00 upon arriving about 5 minutes late it was packed...music playing very loud and not enuff seating, Dinner was good but lacked the elegant style for a New Years Event...plastic plates, silverware and paper cups for water. My husband and I tried to make the best of it... but for $85.00 a person with 1/2 glass complementary wine and a sip for champagne...it wasn't what we expected...we will not go again. read more
