I recently had my first appointment at Pearl Dental and had a wonderful experience. I had Taylor as my hygienist and also met with Dr. James. They took multiple X-rays and individual in-mouth photos of my teeth (all covered by insurance) to make sure they get a detailed view of any potential cavities, cracks or chips they may not be able to easily see otherwise. Taylor reviewed everything with me and explained any areas of potential concern regarding gum health, bone density, and my teeth. Their office is very welcoming and almost feels like a spa - they even give you a warm lavender scented washcloth at the end of your visit! I am very happy to have found such a wonderful dental office and look forward to being a patient for many years to come. read more

Pros: - Easy to book an appointment (receptionist was friendly and competent) - Although it's in a small strip mall, that also means it is easy to locate and plenty of parking :) - Comfortable and contemporary waiting area (the calming indoor fountain is a nice touch--especially for those who hate to go to the dentist!) - State of the art technology (both panoramic, digital x-rays, LCD monitor, etc.) - Dr. Meyers first meets with you one-on-one in his office to discuss your dental history, reasons for visit, and concerns - Very personable and knowledgeable D.A. - Dr. Meyers sits down with you while you're "in The Chair" to go over the x-rays (yeah yeah, I know this is standard, however I was impressed with how he answered all of my questions and seemed more than happy to go into as much or as little detail as I wanted to) - Dr. Meyers even did the actual cleaning (though, in fairness, they were short staffed. I definitely wouldn't expect this next time)! - He and his D.A. (sorry, miss, I forgot your name) had just the right touch during the cleaning, communicating at all times and constantly mindful of my comfort and asking if I needed anything - After the polishing and flossing, Dr. Meyers went over how to floss at home and even gave me a nice refresher course on my Sonicare, demonstrating it on a model set of teeth (I feel like I know how to use it correctly, but I did get a new tip or two that should be helpful getting the most out of the device and staving off any future dental problems) - Hot towel(!) after your cleaning - I never felt rushed by Dr. Meyers or that I was taking up (or wasting) his time (this seems like it would be such basic bedside manner type stuff, but it is really rare nowadays!) - Again, I don't know how often I was asked during the whole exam and cleaning how I was feeling, or if I needed anything, or a break, or for them to stop, but it was a lot. I lost count lol - NO "UP-SELLING" of any add-ons or treatments (Dr. Meyers did mention a treatment here or there for certain issues that I brought up first, however, he made it clear whether he thought they were necessary or not, or could just be put off for now) Cons: - I actually am looking forward to going to the dentist next time? Conclusion: After my recent history with two different dentists, I was seriously wondering if there were any more professionals left in the field, or if they had all just become greedy salespersons just pushing add-on treatments and other stuff. It was really demoralizing, and I can't even imagine what it must be like for people less fortunate than me who have more serious dental problems. I cannot say enough how happy I am with my first visit to Pearl Dental. It was the most thorough dental exam I've ever had and probably the best visit to the dentist I've ever had period. I look forward to referring friends and colleagues to this husband and wife team, as well as my mom, who is looking at dental implants and wants someone she can trust. I typically do not write reviews, but Dena (the dentist) & Taylor (hygienist) in addition to the receptions were truly so friendly, warm and professional. You can tell that the company culture (though small and family owned) must be great because they all seem really happy to be there and love what they do. Going to the dentist isn't really seen as an enjoyable activity for most but they made sure I was extremely informed and also comfortable. They communicate details and share x-rays, photo, etc. I like that they are transparent but also it is visible they prioritize service, which I would almost compare to VIP service (I come from a hospitality background). My teeth have required a lot of work over the years and with the amount of drilling and filling I've been through, I have every right to hate going to the dentist but I have to say, I enjoy going in to see Dr. James and Dr. Deena. I don't mind going to this dentist at all and that is rare for me. They are honest and upfront with everything going on and even though it would mean more money for them if they left me to my own devices, take great care to help me improve my oral hygiene. No matter where I move to in the Valley I will continue to make the trip to Pearl because it is completely worth it and the first time, I have enjoyed going to the dentist. I have high anxiety when it comes to dental work and he was able to get me through the crown process with only numbing the area. I typically require some type of sedation. I don't like showing my teeth, I've always had this one tooth that sat back a bit from the other teeth and it would look weird and ugly in photos. I thought I would need braces and all that to fix it. On top of that I HATE dentists. We grew up pretty poor and didn't really have dental treatment so I was left with some pretty bad teeth. Flash forward to getting my own dental insurance and going to the dentist for the first time and he pretty much humiliated me, and made me feel like I was dirt. I didn't go back for about 10 years, and that dentist also made me feel ashamed of my teeth. Finally, almost 10 years later, had enough and went to Pearl Dental and they were so kind and caring it was the best dental appointment I have ever had. On top of that he said they could just do a "partial" veneer to build up that one tooth to bring it forward. After a few hours, cleaning, fillings, plus the build up on the new tooth and replacing a filling, I was left with a new smile. 41 years old and I finally feel comfortable smiling open mouthed AND I have a dentist I trust and love. They treated me like an adult, didn't lecture me on not going to the dentist and made sure I was comfortable with everything. Hands down best experience ever. read more

All around great staff! Dr. James and Dr. Dena are very professional and personable. They take great pride in being very thorough which they are. I was very surprised that they did a thyroid check during my cleaning!!!! I haven't been to the dentist for years and was very hesitant to even get a cleaning. The cleaning was painless and even though I was hard on myself for not taking better care of my teeth, Dr. James kept telling me that they are not there to shame me or to make me feel bad for the lack of dental care. They just want to start fresh and go from there. I have been known not to go back for future cleaning and maintenance in the past. But because of the amazing staff and service, I'll definitely make a better effort to do so =) read more
