Great service. Our food came out quick and hot. Chicken fried rice is a must try! The tempura rock shrimp was good but it didn't blow me away. One thing I would like to mention was this unpleasant smell inside the restaurant. It almost turned us away. Not sure if this is how it smells inside or if it was just that day

3.5 stars for the Pearl Dragon which is the oldest restaurant in Pacific Palisades. It used to be called House of Lee and it was the only bar In PP. They have definitely evolved with the upscale neighborhood and it's quite lovely and quaint inside! We had Shishito peppers that were not too spicy Crispy tuna on rice cakes which I should have said no siracha sauce on top. Siracha ruins everything for me! Nigiri Albacore Yellowtail Scallops Salmon Sashimi which was the best of the bunch Albacore with jalapeño which I removed Yellowtail It was expensive but what does one expect for a great neighborhood hang?!? Sushi was a 3 and ambience is a 4!

Pearl dragon! The ambiance is a little bit dated but you don't notice it that much because of the dim lights. My waiter was very kind and the server was also considerate. The crispy rice spicy tuna was amazing and the salmon sushi was also great! I've had better before but it's very good especially for the price.

Forget everything else on the menu, the avocado crispy rice is what dreams are made of! It is perfectly balanced and the rice stays crispy-if you're doing takeout. If you absolutely have to order something else you're in luck because everything is delicious!

That alone already gives it a special kind of charm, but the food and overall experience definitely delivered too. First off, parking is actually easy which in this area is a huge win.. I didn't have to circle or stress, which immediately made the whole visit feel more relaxed from the start. The sushi itself was super fresh. You can really taste the quality of the fish, and everything came out clean, well presented, and just really satisfying. Nothing felt overly heavy or overly complicated, just solid, fresh sushi done right. I kept thinking the whole time how consistent everything tasted. Now I have to talk about the mango sticky rice because that completely surprised me. It was honestly amazing. Perfectly sweet without being too much, the mango was fresh and juicy, and the rice had that warm, creamy texture that just hits. It ended up being one of my favorite parts of the whole meal, which I did not expect walking into a sushi place. I will say it is a little on the pricey side, but at the same time you can tell you are paying for quality and location. It didn't feel like a ripoff, just more of a treat kind of place rather than an everyday casual stop. The service was smooth and easy, nothing over the top but attentive enough that you feel taken care of without being hovered over. The whole vibe is low key but still feels like a place you want to come back to. The only thing I regret is not getting the uni. I kept thinking about it after and I know it would have been incredible based on how fresh everything else was. Overall, really solid spot. Fresh sushi, amazing mango sticky rice, easy parking, and a calm, enjoyable atmosphere. Definitely one of those places you're glad is still around and worth going back to.

While the menu can seem a bit limited compared to places that specialize in one or the other, they cover the bases. There are plenty of creative sushi rolls, but for purists who want quality nigiri, Moku delivers. Nozawa's mission for the last 40 years has always been to bring traditional Japanese sushi to America. Sushi nowadays is more common but Sugarfish is still around and has expanded greatly. There is a free parking garage about 2 blocks away and we came on a Tuesday where it was still pretty busy for lunch. The sushi could have been better, while the fish and rice were good the amount of salt and wasabi was wildly different, sometimes having too much or too little. The rice was also inconsistent, some of it falling apart on the plate and not properly pressed together. 2 of our group had the tasting menu and it took a very, very long time for them to get their orders. A la carte was way faster and I was about halfway done with our food before they started getting their food.

Super friendly guy took my order and gave me a glass of water. The restaurant was small, but had a very nice, clean vibe. The sandwich was supposed to have come with pickled daikon and carrots, along with cilantro. It came with lots and lots of carrots and a fair amount of jalapenos. There was no daikon that I could see or find, and maybe three sprigs of cilantro. If the carrots were pickled, they must have been pickled in the last ten minutes before I got them as there was no discernible flavor other than carrot. Although I went to eat the sandwich about fifteen minutes after I picked it up. It was very soggy. The meat was very much on the dry side, a bit greasy, but again, overall, pretty flavorless. It also seemed more like roast pork shoulder rather than pork belly. This sandwich is not something I would ever order again as I have had some very good bahn mi elsewhere. If I do come back, I will try one of the soups or salads or maybe a spring roll to see if my experience was just a one-off. Being generous, maybe they watered down the flavor profile to adapt to American tastes, but for me, especially considering the price, this sandwich was a complete failure. Very disappointing.
