I had such a great experience at Moku Sushi and honestly it feels like one of the few spots still holding it down in the Palisades right now. That alone already gives it a special kind of charm, but the food and overall experience definitely delivered too. First off, parking is actually easy which in this area is a huge win.. I didn't have to circle or stress, which immediately made the whole visit feel more relaxed from the start. The sushi itself was super fresh. You can really taste the quality of the fish, and everything came out clean, well presented, and just really satisfying. Nothing felt overly heavy or overly complicated, just solid, fresh sushi done right. I kept thinking the whole time how consistent everything tasted. Now I have to talk about the mango sticky rice because that completely surprised me. It was honestly amazing. Perfectly sweet without being too much, the mango was fresh and juicy, and the rice had that warm, creamy texture that just hits. It ended up being one of my favorite parts of the whole meal, which I did not expect walking into a sushi place. I will say it is a little on the pricey side, but at the same time you can tell you are paying for quality and location. It didn't feel like a ripoff, just more of a treat kind of place rather than an everyday casual stop. The service was smooth and easy, nothing over the top but attentive enough that you feel taken care of without being hovered over. The whole vibe is low key but still feels like a place you want to come back to. The only thing I regret is not getting the uni. I kept thinking about it after and I know it would have been incredible based on how fresh everything else was. Overall, really solid spot. Dropped by after a walk in the Getty Villa to celebrate my mom's birthday! Pretty empty on a Sunday around 1:30pm, and we were so impressed by the bluefin tuna that we ordered another two more! The chirashi bowl had a good rice to sashimi ratio, and a good selection of sides instead of just seaweed salad and pickled vegetables. I especially enjoyed the octopus salad, it was not too chewy and perfectly seasoned. The salmon belly in the chirashi bowl was so buttery, I would definitely return! read more

Moku is solid! Affordable, family friendly sushi exists here. So it's truly a win all the way around. We've always dined at a table, never the sushi bar at this location so can't speak to that but have always had prompt, friendly service and fresh fish. Dined here last week and thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience from start to finish! I was pleasantly surprised to see the budget friendly happy hour menu and ecstatic to discover the fish was fresh and flavorful, too. I ordered the Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll and the oh-so-delicious Salmon Truffle Nigiri. The spicy tuna was on happy hour yet filling. The Salmon Truffle Nigiri definitely stole the show. My friendly and informative server, Bella, let me know the salmon would be served lightly seared and that the truffle flavor is definitely present; she was so right in all the best ways! Not only was the salmon seared but it was also drizzled with yuzu shoyu and came with kizami wasabi and of course the wonderfully delicious black truffle. Seriously, melt in your mouth amazing. I also got a California roll which was pretty standard (and on happy hour). Like I said before, the Salmon Truffle Nigiri is so worth it. It was fairly quiet during the early evening time I was there but the ambiance would be great for a casual lunch or date night. LA native POV. I say this by saying I've had cheaper and good fried rice HOWEVER, this spot is awesome! The Kendrick rice , I thought was going to be gimmicky. Came in for Monday Happy Hour (which goes until 8pm) and was surprised to see how busy it was. People in the neighborhood have caught on. 1/2 price for about 7 different rolls. 2 bucks off beer/wine and a few dollars off some of the fancy rolls and appetizers. Sushi was very good -- we liked the rolls and also the one special roll we got (Spicy Tuna over crispy rice with eel sauce). Only 4 pieces which wasn't a great deal for the price compared to the rest of the happy hour menu. Lesson learned - -stick with the 50% off ones next time! Usually, the food is very good and the service is very good but today I came on a Saturday night. The restaurant was full and basically they had kids waiting on tables. I had to send the dinners back because they never delivered the appetizers then they brought the dinners again before they brought the appetizers, so I had to pack up the dinner to take it home at least three of the servers had a hand in this and all were too young. Parking is kind of a pain. Small parking with small spots that's shared with a lot of other businesses. The staff is super nice and patient. They are very attentative but not suffocating. For being in the palisades, it is SUPER affordable. They have a good happy hour menu that's pretty much everyday and has a decent amount of food on the menu. I dont drink, so I'm not sure about the drink options on happy hour. The Food has always been fresh and tasty. Fish is never fishy tasting. Portions are good. Rice to fish ratio is great and not just overwhelming with rice. The crispy rice spicy tuna is probably some of the best I've had here. The ratio is perfect. The rice isn't overly crispy where it's hard, has a nice chewiness in the middle with a nice crunch (dang, craving it now). Kind of have been my go to place on saturdays when I'm there on the weekends. You might even run into a celebrity lol since it is the palisades, not too far from Santa Monica. We stumbled upon this yesterday when we were out exploring neighborhoods and realized we were hungry for lunch. We were in luck because it was during their happy hour with 50% off prices. We ordered the salmon and tuna sushi with an avocado addition. Goyza, which we requested be steamed. A plain avocado roll. And edamame. Minus a star because the edamame was never brought out. By the time we had finished our meal and realized they must have forgotten that part of our order we decided it wasn't necessary for the meal. Avocado was ripe and fish was fresh. The perfect sushi spot, I loved that it had a patio area with the perfect view of the mountains and gorgeous trees. We had our puppy so it worked out perfect. We ordered the jalapeño bomb (my favorite) omg roll, the tommy boy and 911 special. Tommy boy was also one my favorites , the 911 special was a little too spicy for me but the boyfriend loved it.
