    Bluefin - Sashimi
    Jamie L.

Dropped by after a walk in the Getty Villa to celebrate my mom's birthday! Pretty empty on a Sunday around 1:30pm, and we were so impressed by the bluefin tuna that we ordered another two more! The chirashi bowl had a good rice to sashimi ratio, and a good selection of sides instead of just seaweed salad and pickled vegetables. I especially enjoyed the octopus salad, it was not too chewy and perfectly seasoned. The salmon belly in the chirashi bowl was so buttery, I would definitely return!

Moku is solid! Affordable, family friendly sushi exists here. So it's truly a win all the way around. We've always dined at a table, never the sushi bar at this location so can't speak to that but have always had prompt, friendly service and fresh fish. As is my style and preference, they also have rice less rolls. My jam! The place kinda feels like a night club. The lighting is moody and kinda 90's. It's conveniently situated right off Sunset not too far off of PCH in a strip mall. Have never had a bad piece of sushi here.

Best Happy Hour in town on Mondays! 3-8 pm. Half off 8 different rolls and 4 salads. Sapporo on draft for $5. The sushi here is tasty and made fresh to order. Parking is free but lot is a tight fit, be careful. Full menu of sushi and lots of non-sushi options also. Staff always friendly and helpful, even when it is busy and they are running around.

Dined here last week and thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience from start to finish! I was pleasantly surprised to see the budget friendly happy hour menu and ecstatic to discover the fish was fresh and flavorful, too. I ordered the Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll and the oh-so-delicious Salmon Truffle Nigiri. The spicy tuna was on happy hour yet filling. The Salmon Truffle Nigiri definitely stole the show. My friendly and informative server, Bella, let me know the salmon would be served lightly seared and that the truffle flavor is definitely present; she was so right in all the best ways! Not only was the salmon seared but it was also drizzled with yuzu shoyu and came with kizami wasabi and of course the wonderfully delicious black truffle. Seriously, melt in your mouth amazing. I also got a California roll which was pretty standard (and on happy hour). Like I said before, the Salmon Truffle Nigiri is so worth it. It was fairly quiet during the early evening time I was there but the ambiance would be great for a casual lunch or date night. Overall, I definitely recommend Moku Sushi and I know I'll be back soon!

    Kendrick rice

LA native POV. I say this by saying I've had cheaper and good fried rice HOWEVER, this spot is awesome! The Kendrick rice , I thought was going to be gimmicky. But that steak medium rare cooked WAS AMAZING. Oh my god. It melted in your mouth! It was so good!!!! The waiter was so nice and it was soooo chillllll. The environment was quiet if you want to dine alone. 10/10

Best and only fine sushi/thai restaurant in the Palisades. Great staff. Outstanding fish. And they serve Einstök beer on draft. Wow!

The papaya salad ($12) is definitely a smaller salad. If you're hungry, it won't be enough. I liked the al dente green beans. The pad Thai ($15) is also a good portion for one. The chicken is tender and the flavor of the pad Thai noodles is delicious. I couldn't stop eating. Came with raw bean sprouts, carrots and purple cabbage. Definitely recommend and will order again. A great all-around spot to grab a quick bite or get your Thai fixings at night. Probably not a date spot. We got the papaya salad, fresh rolls w shrimp, pad see ew w chicken, and Chicken Khao Soi. Entree winner: Chicken Khao Soi. The curry was fantastic. The type you would dip bread in. I even used it as a sauce for my pad see ew. Appetizer winner: fresh rolls. Not because of the roll itself - though it was good- but because of the peanut sauce. Spectacular. It was a thicker paste vs your typical liquidy peanut sauce. It had such a rich flavor...I'd come here just for that. Our server was Kawin. Great dude, super friendly. I would go with his recommendations! Now my go to easy Thai spot in SM.

First visit to Emporium Thai and I already know this won't be my last…read more I walked in solo with a tight window between shows, which meant I had to be strategic. No leftovers, no over-ordering... a true test of discipline at a place like this. Started with a Thai iced tea that hit exactly right. Balanced, not overly sweet, and generously poured. Service throughout the meal was excellent. Attentive without hovering, and the pacing was spot on. I never felt rushed, which is rare when you're clearly on a clock. For my appetizer, I went with the Phuket wings. As someone who takes wings seriously, I can say these stood out. Crispy, flavorful, and coated in a Southern Thai curry sauce I hadn't experienced before. Rich, slightly sweet, with a depth that kept me going back for "just one more." For the main, I took the server's recommendation and ordered the Thai beef salad to balance things out. Smart call. The dressing leaned creamier than what I usually expect, but it worked. Bright, flavorful, and layered. I'll be honest, I couldn't quite finish it, but the beef didn't stand a chance. Every last bite. Dessert sealed the deal. The mango sticky rice, now famously known as the Cardi B Mango Sticky Rice, lived up to the hype. Perfectly ripe mango, warm sticky rice, and that coconut sauce tying it all together. Simple, classic, and done right. The space itself tells a story. Walls lined with photos of the owner alongside celebrities from all over. But what stood out more than the photos was the man himself. He made his way around the room, greeting guests, checking in, bringing real warmth to the experience. No hierarchy, no pretense. Everyone gets treated like they belong. Twenty-six years in and I'm just now discovering this place? Better late than never. Next time, I'm bringing a group and ordering everything family style. That's the move.

This is a review for their catering as we didn't eat at the location…read more We had a large sales meeting with some out of town people so we ordered a few stereotypical Thai items from Emporium to feed everyone over lunch. We all gobbled up 2+ plates each and had a ton of leftovers. They definitely do not skimp on portions when ordering catering. All of the food tasted fresh and flavorful. You could taste all of the spices and seasonings well while not having to get through a ton of grease and oil. I really think they nailed the balance of everything in all of the dishes. If I did have one minor gripe, I will say that this stuff might not travel the absolute best. I'm not completely sure how much time passed between it getting piked up and consumed, but a lot of the items, especially those with noodles, were sticking together when trying to serve which means if you wanted a small portion...you got a big one. I know that's more on us for not eating right away, but I would've also hoped that with a catering order they would have accounted for this a bit more. In all, Emporium Thai was a fantastic lunch to break up a long business meeting. I absolutely cannot wait to go to the actual restaurant and try their dishes fresh out of the kitchen (& whenever I do find myself there I will update my review accordingly.
