I was in Surrey watching my boyfriend's bowling tournament and loved how Zone Bowling had different businesses connected to the alley-- double entrances depending on if you wanted to go through the alley or just from the outside. I just got a classic Oolong milk tea with boba since that is one of my go-to's at home. It was very flavorful and the boba itself had a great texture! Pearl Fever is a bubble tea chain in the metro Vancouver area. It isn't as prominent as some of the others out there but they do have a few outlets. Pearl Fever offers milk teas, fruit teas, smoothies and tofu pudding. The location we visited on this occasion was in Burquitlam near the Ikea. The interior of the cafe was separated into two lines. One line was for pick up orders and the other was for order at the counter. I liked that it helped streamline the process but there was no exit path for the way out? They usually have a seating area throughout the cafe but it was closed during our visit. The peach oolong tea was fragrant with fruity flavour from the peach. It wasn't artificially sweetened with peach syrup but rather the peach flavour was with the tea leaves themselves. I liked how it helped balance out the robust earthiness from the oolong tea. The "white pearls" were chewy and prefer them to their brown sugar counterparts. Roasted oolong tea with pudding was a smoky flavoured tea! It was strong and robust in flavour and is not for those who prefer mellow teas. The pudding added a hint of sweetness. This definitely isn't a tea you would typically order unsweetened. The pudding here came in small pieces instead of as a large block as they typically serve at bubble tea spots but the flavour was the same so it didn't bother us. read more

The milk tea is yummy here! We came here after a trip to Hicks lake, and it was a great treat. There are a good number of regular teas, milk teas, and smoothies. All of my friends got the Oreo smoothie. Man, it's delicious. If you're partial to boba, than you can just skip them. I got the lychee mint with mango jelly special; 50% sweetness. It tastes like bathroom soap, but in a good way. My girlfriend got the Assam milk tea with 50% sweetness. The Assam was perfectly mild and creamy with a black tea flavor. No complaints about Pearl Fever's bubble tea and associated offerings. I really enjoyed their bubble tea. My issue is that to order, the customer sets up an account, using a credit card to add funds to a personal account. All purchases are drawn from the account on file. This a very good system. However, what happens when a customer moves from the Lower Mainland and wants to close their account and have the balance of the funds sitting in their account refunded to the credit card? This is the position I find myself in. No one will respond to my emails. Multiple emails over the course of 1.5 years. There doesn't appear to be a central administrative office, so I cannot contact the office. I phoned a store location - the store I used to set up the accounts and make purchases. The young lady I spoke to said their Manager would return my telephone inquiry. No response. What do I have to do to get Pearl Fever's attention? I want my funds returned!! It is nice to have more options for bubble tea drinks in Surrey. Place was somewhat clean. Plenty of seating available. Staff was carefree and goofing off when it was quiet. At least it made for a fun atmosphere. There was pop music playing in the background. My type of music so it was nice as I enjoyed my drink. Yay, a Local Bubble tea place!! I love love their bubble tea and would argue it's in my top 3 ever. I always either get hazelnut milk tea or rose milk tea (half sweet). I used to get their fresh taro since the fresh variation is so hard to come by and is usually pumped with excess refined sugar - theirs, however, has no added sugar. Another drink people tend to order frequently is the mango ice cream smoothie. I'm a fan of their sweetness customization, and I like that you can get half orders for any of their add-one (eg. pearls). I'm removing one star only because as others mentioned too, it can get a little chaotic during peak hours and behind the counter appears disorganized which leads to long wait times. The interior has decent seating, is clean enough, and a nice place to hang out with friends. And despite other comments, I've never had an issue with poor service. read more

So this is coming from someone who regularly gets bubble tea from the Chatime locations in downtown Toronto on an almost bi-weekly basis: Pearl Fever is a good place for bubble tea. It's not merely decent, it's a solid, good place to get bubble tea. Having grown up in Delta, I would've definitely appreciated having a Pearl Fever in high school instead of having to go to Richmond or Burnaby. I know some people say that Pearl Fever's not as good as competitor x nor y (pick your favourite Chatime, Gong Cha, Coco etc.), but I think a bit of perspective is needed here: Appreciate (really, dig deep, and *appreciate* with emphasis haha) that we finally - FINALLY - have a bubble tea place in N. Delta. Make that one of your new year's resolution. Go support your local, bbt store. Yes, do it. Go on. This place offers a great selection bubble tea - with nutritional info!!! VERY rare to find that in bubble tea places. They offer options/customization like pearls/bubbles, coconut jelly, pudding, mango jelly, etc. It's most likely you'll need a few minutes to absorb and review the menu to find what you're craving. :) We often get the honey milk tea, honeydew and coffee milk tea. All yummy! I do wish they have online ordering, or that they can take pick up orders by phone, but it's currently not available. You literally ALWAYS waste my time with your small little sign that can't be seen until you reach the cashier, multiple times I have waited in line for over 15 minutes just to reach the cashier and see the sign for no pearls!!!! Great little place in the Strawberry Hill complex! There weren't any Bubble Tea places around there and they've opened up a good one. The place is big, clean and severs up good bubble tea! I come here often. Drinks are pretty good but my last visit was bad. Ordered 3 drinks to go and unfortunately my drink wasn't made to their usual standard. It was bland. I called to let them know that they messed up my drink and they said they would replace it but, only if I drove back. It's an inconvenience to come back the same night. To say the least, I couldn't have been more ecstatic to try the first bubble tea store in Delta, and wanted to see if it matched up against the pearl fevers in Richmond. When I strolled in, I was immediately greeted by a warm smiling face. After some great recommendations presented by the server, I bit the bullet and decided to order the assam milk tea with pearls. Let me tell you guys, when I took that first sip, my mouth started quivering, as if my taste buds were bathed in sweet heavenly bliss.
