This is a very fine little hole in the wall Puerto Rican Restaurant in New City (Rockland County)! The food is very tasty (Seasoned Just Right) and the Portions are Plentiful. I wish I can give this place Zero stars. I just order two pernil mofongos. Theres zero pernil meat in there and they used the chicken stew sauce. Also the tostones aren't even mash completely. They are hard and dry. When I call to complaint. She girl over the phone says we only put a tiny bit of meat in it. There's zero meat in it. Ridiculous. Will never go back!! This restaurant has the worst owner you can deal with. She sits in the restaurant and has no social skills. They close at 8 pm and if you get there at 7:15 she tells you kitchen is closed and doesn't want to sit you. If you convince her that you know what you want and she lets you sit she will then bring you half the meal and say the kitchen was closed. She has the nastiest attitude for someone in the hospitality business. Don't bother eating there it will only annoy you. read more

I got the chicken and garlic over salad for lunch today for takeout. There wasn't too much flavor, was a bit disappointed. Also be ready for a ton of liquid at the bottom which makes the salad pretty soggy. The reason for an extra star though is the mofongo I tried that a coworker got.. it was delicious! Will have to get that next time. Otherwise the chicken is just okay. I tried a few other chicken and rice dishes that the others got, which again were just okay, but really the mofongo was the star for everyone! read more

We went for dinner. My hubby ordered shrimp and I ordered salmon. The experiece wasn't great: -Tables that sat down after us got their food before us. -Once my dinner came out it took another five min before husband's dinner was served. By then my salmon was cold. -The salmon was served with frozen vegetables that wasn't cooked. It was an overall bad dinner, we will not be coming back. The owners actually came to deliver the food and told us that their worker had misquoted us over the phone and that we either pay the difference or they'll take back the food. The restaurant is very small but we were a party of 13 and we had a great time. The good was excellent and we brought our own wine. I used to go to this place when it was in Nyack with my then toddler son and we were big fans of the lunch special - stewed chicken with yellow rices and black beans was our favorite everyday special and yummy shredded beef twice a week. We missed it so much when it closed. Now I am working in New City and I stop in for takeout every couple of weeks to bring home for dinner. The menu is the same for the lunch special (available for dinner as well) plus an expanded menu as well, which I haven't tried. The atmosphere is pleasant and he presentation for eat-in is much more elegant than it had been in a Nyack. They really should lose the TV blaring Spanish language TV though.
