Brought my dog here for a neuter surgery. I heard about this place from a friend and decided to e-mail them right away to inquire. Response time was quick and transparent. I was given an estimate and was asked to let them know when/if I wanted to schedule. Dropped my dog off at around 8:30am and picked him up at 2pm. Procedure was fast and the staff kindly texted me updates regarding the surgery! They were extremely friendly and helpful. I felt like I was educated properly and left feeling like I had everything I needed to aid my dog in recovery. I was also given 5 days of pain medication for my dog who took it well. My dog is now 2+ weeks post-op and we had our semi-annual visit with our vet who said the incision is fully healed and looks good! I highly recommend Pearl's Veterinary Surgery.

Absolutely the best place to visit! Located near the airport, we were warmly greeted upon entering the clinic and escorted in to the exam room almost immediately. Dr Kasey came in and introduced himself and so did my dog . I am pretty amazed that throughout the life of my dog, this is "the only" clinic whose vet could give me some kind of medical knowledge of what the bumps/mass is on my dog. And explained all my options. This clinic does only surgery and dental too, and prices are affordable. The clinic is clean and spacious and all my questions were answered by the vet and we shall return to have the surgery done. Thank you Pearls Veterinary Surgery for your excellent service!

This was my second time coming to this veterinary surgery clinic. First time was for my cat's neuter and now for my dog's. My dog had an undescended testicle, so it wasn't a typical neuter, but the doctor and staff handled everything so well. Everyone was super kind, easy to talk to, and very informative. I let them know my dog doesn't do well with other dogs, and they were nice enough to let my husband and I wait in their break room until it was time for my dog's surgery, which I really appreciated. Overall, such a great experience. We felt comfortable, supported, and confident leaving our pet in their care. Highly recommend!

Took my two female bunnies to get spayed and had a great experience at Pearl's Veterinary. It was easy to make an appointment, fill oit forms before your appointment, Jenny and staff were thorough, experienced, and friendly. Cost was also reasonable which included the meds, check up, and chip.

Nothing short of amazing service and of course care! We were desperate to have three kittens payed and neutered but different vets quoted between $500-1000 for each kitten!! No way we could swing that. These were kuttens who were dumped on our property. We already have our own cats and didn't want more, but we also didn't want them having even more kittens for us, either. Enter Pearl's! What a lifesaver they were for us!! Clean, courteous, kind, attentive. We could not have asked for a better outcome. $150 per kitten. Microchip included. Excellent customer service!! I cannot say enough good things about them. Mahalo, Pearl's Team!!

Pearl's=Aloha. Beautiful and loving souls that are a blessing to our community. Owned and operated by Dr. Kasey Carter and his sweetheart of a wife Jenny. They and Dr. Nicole Fernandez, and the entire Team, truly care, they go above and beyond, they prioritize compassion and affordable care over trying to extract maximum profit and provide care that is worth far more then they charge. They provide exceptional service. Dr. Nicole is a lovely lady and an excellent surgeon and she took the time to talk with me, show me around the facility and show me the x-rays, which no other vet has done for me. This is what true compassionate care is. This place is full of love and they embody the aloha spirit. I am so grateful for the love and care provided for my beloved little dog.

Everything you could want when your loved pet needs surgery. Affordable! Caring! Out of this world service! Experienced surgeon! Dr.kasey and his wife jennny are absolutely the best option when your loved doggo or feline needs surgery. My dear pug, puggles had a mass cell tumor on her arm and lump on her mammary. Another doctor recommended removing puggles whole right arm. Dr kasey offered saving it. Trust me! My doggo is very happy having four arms. I am glad i changed my mind last minute. The surgery was quick and well performed, no issues. Jenny texted me during the procedure before and after. I was relieved to know it went well. I definitely recommend trusting Pearls Vetinarian Surgery.

Such an Awesome Veterinarian Staff! Everyone is so welcoming and kind. Took my dog for a foreign body surgery and they were so helpful! I was calling all over and they were the most affordable and so quick to respond with details/information. I am so grateful for their timely response and their communication with me during my dog's surgery. Affordable, Welcoming, Awesome Communication, Amazing Staff! I highly recommend this place for your pets!

They did the biopsy and analysis on three of them, and gave me the (benign) results in less than an hour. All for $143. I see people complain about pricing, but don't forget that the prices of vaccines and meds are controlled by big pharma, not by the vet! If you want to complain about that, you need to complain to Congress, not to the vet.

A recent example really bothered me. During my dog's visit, the vet specifically told me she would NOT recommend removing his canine teeth. A week later, I received the estimate by text and, sure enough, canine tooth extractions were included as recommended treatment... at $400 a tooth! I obviously want the best care for my dogs and don't mind paying for things they actually need. But lately, it feels like the vets are being pushed to sell more services, almost like the main job of a veterinarian has shifted to something more like a used car salesperson; from providing proper and reasonable care to increasing commissions and gross profit. Really disappointing because King Street used to be a clinic I trusted completely.

We had to switch vets once before finding this clinic, and ever since then, we've truly trusted and appreciated the care they provide. Everyone at the front is always so friendly and welcoming, and they always play with our husky! I totally understand that huskies love everyone, but not everyone loves a husky's playfulness, so I really appreciate the attention and love they show our dog. One time, our husky injured her paw with a deep cut that needed after-hours care, and I am forever grateful that Dr. Hsu was available to see her right away. Even though he had already left the office, he was willing to come back for her. I think the care they provide, the heart they put into what they do, and the genuine compassion they have for animals are such important qualities when finding the right vet. We've also utilized their in-house boarding services. At first, we were worried about how our dog would do, but she did more than fine and has loved going back multiple times. The boarding process is also very seamless. They take care of her daily meals, provide 3-4 walks a day, and if anything ever comes up, they're already a vet clinic, so they can provide professional advice and care right away! I highly, highly recommend their services, knowledge, and care. I will always trust my dog in their hands. 10/10!!

I called in with an emergency, and they were accommodating enough to take me in right away, which I really appreciated. As soon as I got out of my Uber, they opened the automatic door and immediately took my cat in. I ended up spending the entire day there, which was fine--my cat requires a lot of patience due to trauma he experienced before I adopted him, and they handled him with care. The only area that could use some improvement is communication between staff. I did have to repeat my concerns a few times. Their services are on the higher end price-wise, but if you truly love your pet, it's worth paying a little extra for that level of care.

They offered a second option of a bit over $2,000 where we would be able to take him home sooner and watch for symptoms/improvement, which we decided to take considering it was a holiday weekend and our regular vet wasn't open. We had to pay upfront, which I understand to be common with vet emergencies, but they were still pushy and tried to sell us pet insurance. The medication they prescribed seemed to somewhat help, but we ended having to have him stay over 2 weeks at his regular vet, where they had to monitor him. Their treatment cost was only just under $2,000 for the entire 2 week stay. Turns out all he needed was a diet change. No major interventions, unlike what VERC had insisted. Our regular vet asked if VERC performed a urinalysis (as they said they should have done before making any moves). We realized they hadn't. I think VERC is obviously a spot to go in desperation, but I would not return. I understand it's a business at the end of the day, but their practices made us uncomfortable. It's clearly a profitable business to get into. No wonder so many vets keep opening up around Oahu. Will remain wary and won't be returning to this one.

The staff at this clinic are extraordinary. I have nothing but good things to say about the past and current veterinarians: Dr Fujitani, Dr Kimura, Dr Lee Loy, Dr Casuga, Dr Lee, and Dr Tom. They are always available to answer my questions when I call or text them, even if it's to repeat instructions or clarify information they previously gave me. I have had several health scares with my animals and the staff at University VCA take a caring and balanced approach of concern and moderation. They will run tests or refer you to a specialist if you want, but won't force or guilt you into spending more than you feel comfortable spending. They have always offered me different courses of treatment based on budgetary needs. I have been into VCA 8-9 times in one month for a variety of reasons for my three pets. Because VCA offers CareClub, those office visits are covered, which is peace of mind when my animal is sick. I don't need to worry about paying for multiple office visits when my pet is sick. The receptionists (front office staff) at VCA university are amazing. They are kind, considerate, compassionate, and extremely patient. I have had to call them repeatedly to ask questions or clarify information, or order more food. The front office staff are always busy, yet they are also punctual, polite, diligent and always on their "A game". Knowing my pets are in the hands of true animal lovers at University VCA is a type of peace of mind that no amount of money could purchase. Thank you VCA University for always taking such fantastic care of my babies!

I have read many of their reviews and I see them trying to justify some of their discrepancies in pricing. My invoice was over $599 for a new cat check up, nail trim ($50+), a 5 minute snap FIV test ($220+), ear cleaner, and a fecal test. (Not including the $80 booster shot which after tax would've made it almost over $600). When they say: "When you are a new pet owner, it's hard to anticipate costs." ***My answer: I called two other highly rated vet hospitals on island after receiving my invoice, the other vet hospitals also confirmed this place was completely over charging me. When they said to me: "Hawaii is a lot more expensive than the mainland for vet care." ***My answer: I have had cats for 10+ years in CA, and now 6+ years in Hawaii, and my mother is an equine vet, there are differences, but not by hundreds of dollars for simple tests. I feel very slighted and that they target new pet owners who don't know a lot (they reached out to me first, I did not reach out to them days after adopting a cat, how did they get my information? It is on me for not doing further research). I don't think the technicians, vets, or front office staff are incompetent, I just don't agree with their service. I won't be going back. Also, there was leftover cat fur on the table when I went into the room, and I understand it does get everywhere, but it didn't seem like the most sterile environment for my cat at that moment.

The Vet, Dr Pang, had poor bedside manner. Came in already dismissive of my complaints for my dog. She wasn't prepared when she came in the room. As if she didn't know why I was there. Said she couldn't examine my dogs nostrils because my dog is excited and keeps moving. Said we needed to sedate my dog. Didn't have any light or anything to look at my dogs nose. Some questions/comments she made that were annoying: "Are you sure she's five months old, she seems older cause she's big" "How did you look in your dogs nose?" "She's not sneezing now" "She seems to be breathing normal" (her first time meeting my dog, doesn't know my dog is not a mouth breather) "Did you hear reverse sneezing" (as if i know what that is) I had to get on the floor to help hold my dog so she would look at both nostrils or try to with a light. Also theres an exam table not sure why we're on the floor. She offered very little info into what she thought was going on with my dog. Only discussed further when i kept asking questions. She prescribed a steroid taper but on the bottle the instructions were incorrect did not indicate a taper. Did not appreciate her bedside manner and lack of trying to look at my dog for the issue i brought her in for. Then as i was leaving i got blocked in to the small parking lot by an employee that parked her truck with the bed blocking the way out. That employee came out and saw me unable to leave but waited till i asked her to move the truck to move it. Gets two stars because of the front staff.
