I do not typically partake in reviews, but I'd like to share my exceptional experience. Setting up an appointment to see a new Optometrist had been something I was avoiding for quite some time. A family member directed me to the website to set up my appointment because I kept putting off calling for so long. Expecting to be faced with a complex questionnaire and no available appointment times, I was pleasantly surprised to answer a few simple questions and schedule an appointment for the following morning. I even received a friendly text message and an email reminding me about the appointment! The next morning, I woke up bright and early and arrived at my appointment about ten minutes early. Before the door even closed behind me, I was joyously welcomed to Pearle Vision and efficiently checked in for my appointment by the smiling staff member whom I got to know as Kevin. He was very helpful in explaining the variety eye exams offered and helped answer the multiple silly questions I had regarding the necessary paperwork. He went over my insurance with me, and made sure I fully understood what was covered by insurance, and what was not. He quickly brought out a few glasses for us to get a feel of what type of frames I might enjoy most. After looking over just a few pairs of glasses, Dr. Steve Pelitsky introduced himself and said he was ready! I was taken to a room and we began the exams right away. He told me exactly what each test was for, and patiently answered all of my silly questions. Dr. Steve was very informative and explained everything in a way that made complete sense to me. When the exams were finished, he even showed me the picture that was taken of my eyeball and thoroughly explained each part to me. He went above and beyond in making me feel comfortable as well as informed. Dr. Steve led me back to the front where Kevin had already laid out a bunch of frames that he thought might suit me. He was SO friendly and VERY PATIENT while I went through the pros and cons of each frame. Time flew by as we chatted and went through every possible option. I never felt rushed or pressured hurry up to make a choice. He pointed out things that I may have not noticed and helped me slowly narrow down my options. He was super knowledgeable and really down to earth and friendly. After trying on over twenty frames, we finally picked the perfect pair. Kevin said that they would give me a call in the next couple days once it was ready to be picked up. I received a phone call only two days later explaining that they were ready to be picked up! I would like to express my true gratitude to Dr. Steve Pelitsky for his professionalism, kindness and extensive knowledge of his field. Moreover, I would like to note his patience in answering every single question we had. His detailed explanation always had a perfect balance of science, statistics, life practicality and a common language that can be understood. We went to this office on several occasions and at all times were confident to trust our kids' and adults' vision to Dr. Pelitsky. We were always grateful afterwords that all our health dilemmas were resolved. There was a time when my kid got hit in the eye during gym class. Dr. Pelitsky was able to see us urgently and calmly addressed all concerns, answered all questions from both us, parents and the kid. There was another time when my vision started changing and I felt very alarmed. Dr. Pelitsky was able to see me the same day that I called. He assured me that all that is probably due to age. But I still was concerned, so he run tests on my eyes, using various machines. All turned out ok, but I was happy to be able to verify my health with vast resource of sophisticated equipment that was available right there in the office. Another time, I came back to do yearly check up and to order new glasses. Dr. Pelitsky did an exam in his office and then we walked into the reception area, where he tested once again my prescription in the daylight. His attention to details is unwavering and is unmatched when compared to other optometrist that I have been to. Afterwords, I choose very light frames for my glasses and have been wearing those ever since. Moreover, later on I placed an order for new pair of sunglasses. But then Dr. Steve saw my old glasses that I bought in another store a few years back. I love those but glasses have been to big and hence have been sliding from my ears ever since I had purchased those. I thought I had to get rid of those but Dr. Steve was able to fix my old sunglasses and now I have two pairs of perfectly functioning sunglasses and of various design to match different outfits. Do you remember the ad "I'd walk a mile for a Camel"? Well I'll drive 45 minutes out of my way to see Dr. Steve. You see he looked after me in Naperville for 7 years before he moved to Arlington Heights. I was a difficult patient because first I wanted contacts so I could see far with one eye and near with the other. He told me: No problem. But then I wanted glasses to wear over my contacts when I drove or went to the cinema so I could see far with both eyes. He said: No problem. Now my business keeps me in front of a computer for hours at a time so I asked for glasses to read the screen without eyestrain. No problem. Then I had a cataract removed from one eye and a lens implanted so I have 20/20 vision in my left eye but need glasses for my right eye to read. No problem. I could go on. I actually wrote a 2-page letter to his company 2 years ago singing his praises and if you need more, you can ask him to see it. But for now, if you need contacts, glasses, a listening ear and most of all, if you need a professional with integrity: check out Dr. Steve. I came here to get my annual eye exam and order new contacts. Also I needed a new pair of glasses because my vision has been changed and I had to replace the pair I had. I've been looking for it for a long time and I tried a few different prescriptions before. Nothing was working for me well. I felt dizzy in my new glasses every time I was wearing it and I couldn't get to use it. This location was referred to me by my dad as a splendid pace and by far this is the best optometrist I've ever been to. Dr. Steve provided excellent service and helped me to find perfectly right prescription for me. Doctor is very professional and knowledgeable. After my exam I started to pick the frames and I was surprised by great variety of frames they had. I selected my frame I was falling in love with. In the last few months I came to this location for a couple of reasons and they exceeded my expectations by far. I just moved to the area and I needed to get new glasses. It had been a while since I had an eye test and my glasses were a couple of years old and in disrepair. As I sat down they asked to see my current glasses while they were getting my info in the system and when they brought back my old glasses they were like new. I still decided to get a new pair anyway and just a month later someone leaned on my glasses and broke the lens. I called about getting them fixed and they asked me to bring them in. When I arrived they told me that they'd have them ready by tomorrow and were only going to charge me $20 to have them fixed. Everyone has been so nice and helpful. This was the first time I needed to purchase glasses. My husband who goes to this location recommended that I go here as he has been seen by Dr. Pelitsky for several years. When I arrived, Devyn assisted me with my choices and made recommendations that were very helpful. She even took the time to make sure of my insurance coverage and discovered a problem. She waited on the phone to speak to a representative and did correct the issue....that's going above and beyond in my opinion She explained the difference in lens colors and helped me choose the best color that would also help with my eye sensitivity due to dry eye. As a dentist my eyes are extremely important. I have all my exams at this location and I would highly recommend them. Just today, the arm to my dental loupes broke. These allow me to perform my dental work with a higher degree of magnification and therefore a higher degree of accuracy. I was at a loss when they broke mid morning on a busy Tuesday. I immediately drove over to see Dr. Pelitsky. He and his staff got me up and running and repaired my loupes on the spot. I can't thank them enough. By the way, my loupes are a specialty product offered through a dental supplier, but they fixed them for me any way. These eye experts are compassionate towards their patients' needs. Dr. Steve is extremely professional, thorough, and kind. He loves what he does and really cares for his patients. He wanted to make sure I had the best sight possible, and my prescription happens to be quite complicated. Doug, the optician, has a passion for making sure that the patient is in the proper lens. He is extremely knowledgeable, and I can see so well with the lenses he recommended to me. And I can't believe how quickly my glasses were finished by their lab, two days before they were promised! It takes me 35 minutes to get to Arlington Heights from home, but for this level of service and expertise, it's well worth it! read more

I have been going to this location for over 5 years. Though this location is further away from the Pearle Vision that is located near me, yet I still take the trip to this location as it is more than worth it! There are many reasons for that. The first time I walked in they created an impact in me wherein I feel comfortable to walk in any time and know that I will be treated well no matter what and valued. Dr. Pelitsky is my favorite doctor ever, calm and explains as he goes, very frank with advice and what I don't need to spend money on, etc. He double checked my eye measurements out front and even liked the frames I picked out! Tina at the front desk is so patient about spending time figuring out my very complicated insurance and giving different quotes. Kevin spent at least an hour with me picking out frames! Amazing guy, and really cared because he knew these would be on my face every day. He found a lot of different frames I never would have even tried. First time visitor to the Arlington Hts. office for an annual eye exam. Dr. Pelitsky was extremely professional, explaining in detail every step of the examination. He also answered all of my questions, and made sure I had all the information I was looking for. The front office staff was also very helpful, providing additional information regarding the options available to me for purchasing glasses. I was given a suggested prescription, but at no time was I ever pressured to purchase glasses, it was left entirely up to me. I live out of town and smashed my new glasses in my car door. I was worried they were beyond repair! Doug was very helpful and able to bend them back into shape. Dr. Steve Pelitsky took the time to fit them to my face, which was really great since I recently had facial surgery. He also gave me some suggestions since I've been having difficulty adjusting to my new glasses. They could not have been more kind, and my glasses are good as new! I have been coming here for the past 4 years and will never go anywhere else. I have very specific needs in regards to my glasses, so I feel I may have more insight than the average customer. In my 30 years of wearing glasses, I have never had an eye doctor actually listen and accommodate my requests like Dr. Pelitsky has. I have been a client of this Pearle Vision for a few years and sadly had to swap to a city location because I relocated earlier this year. Although the doctor has always been awesome, this review is about Doug, he went above and beyond during my last visit to help me with my contacts and honestly, I wish I was still closer to the burbs just so I could keep giving them business! I've never felt like they are trying to sell me anything in fact, the opposite they always try to work with me to make the most of my insurance plan without too much out of pocket. I can't say enough good about Dr. Pelitsky and his office. They have consistently gone out of their way to help me. First, I have really difficult eyes (very near-sighted, astigmatism and now at the bifocal age). This makes getting the right contacts a real challenge. Second, I live outside the country and only visit Chicago for 1-2 weeks at a time, so everything has to be done really fast. My wife and I get our vision supplies here. Glasses and contacts. While for her, the glasses were perfect first time, with me Dr. Steve Pelitsky worked very closely and re-did the eye exam and looked for more solutions to my issues. I have big enough number and unusual astigmatism that it took several attempts, but he insisted they'll manage to get it perfect.
