PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!! I have been a loyal customer of…read morePetstaurant for over three years and have purchased food from multiple locations. Until recently, I trusted that I was feeding my dog a safe, high-quality product. I spend hundreds of dollars a month at this place a month. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has left me deeply concerned. My dog has allergies and can only eat bison and venison. After Petstron was out of bison for approximately two weeks, I purchased 20 containers when it finally became available again. Given the cost of the food and the trust pet owners place in companies like this, I never expected what I found. While preparing the food, I began finding sharp bone fragments throughout the meat. Because my dog is small, I always break apart the food before serving it. As I did, I found one bone, then another, and another. This was not just in one container. I found multiple jagged bone pieces in container after container. Concerned for my dog's safety, I spent so much time inspecting and removing what I could find. Despite my efforts, after eating, my dog began choking. It was one of the most frightening experiences I've had as a pet owner. Thankfully she recovered, but it was clear I may have missed one or two small pieces of bones and it had made its way into her food. What concerns me most is that many pet owners may simply warm the food and serve it without inspecting every bite. Had I done that, the outcome could have been much worse. Our pets are family. We trust companies that prepare fresh food to take the necessary precautions to ensure it is safe. Finding repeated sharp bone fragments in cooked food is not something any pet owner should have to worry about. I am sharing my experience because I believe other pet owners should be aware and inspect their food carefully. I would also be interested to know if anyone else has experienced something similar. I WILL NEVER TAKE A CHANCE WITH THIS PET STORE AGAIN!!!!

My first experience with PetSmart grooming started off rocky. I explained that I have a puppy that…read moreneeds a bath and a haircut over the phone. When I arrived, they asked if my puppy got vaccinated recently, which he did. So I had to reschedule to a different day. Over the phone they only asked about rabies shot and I have a document for that. I wish the staff asked ALL the questions over the phone. The extra trip could have been avoided. During my rescheduled appointment, I booked for an early morning slot. The staff explained it could take up to 5 hours, which sounds extremely long. I called other salons and they also said about 4-5 hours. I guess this is the normal time frame everywhere you go. The groomer did a good job but there are two things she did even though I asked her not to do. My requests are not to cut his eyelashes and I don't want him bald. I was hoping for short fluffy cut, around 1 inch of hair left. When I picked him up, I honestly thought they gave me the wrong dog. I was like telling them this isn't my dog. I had to check for my puppy's special markings to make sure it's him. The cut was so drastic compared to his long fur when I dropped him off. Overall, my puppy is safe, didn't get hurt, and clean. I wished the groomer didn't cut him too short and didn't touch his eyelashes. Overall, my take on PetSmart grooming is: 1) Make an account online. Book grooming through the website. That way you can see an estimate on pricing. Over the phone, they take a long time to pick up the phone. And they are not as detailed over the phone either. 2) Bring a proof of rabies shot at your appointment. 3) Your dog will be clean, but the cut isn't the prettiest. If this is important to you, book another salon that specializes in that specific cut. 4) You will get a text (and maybe a phone call) that your dog is ready for pick up. It took my puppy 4.5 hours for a bath and a haircut. 5) The good thing about PetSmart is that if you book online, there's plenty of availability. I called other salons and a lot of them are booked 2-3 weeks out. 6) The price I paid is comparable to other salons. I'd come back here again if my puppy needs urgent grooming. I don't love that the groomer cut his fur too short (and the eyelashes), but again my puppy is safe, didn't get hurt, and clean.

I brought my English Bulldog, Lilo, to PetSmart for a grooming appointment scheduled for 9:30 a.m…read more I arrived on time, but we were not checked in until approximately 9:54 by a different groomer, who told me that Lilo's assigned groomer, Virginia, had not arrived yet and that she did not know where she was. I left Lilo there expecting her to be groomed as scheduled. At approximately 12:50 p.m., I received a call telling me that they could not groom her. Initially, I was told that the reason was that I had apparently arrived at 10:00 a.m. and that the groomer had to work on other dogs. I explained that I had actually arrived at 9:30, which was the scheduled appointment time, and that the delay in checking in Lilo was because her assigned groomer was not there. At that point, I was given a completely different explanation: I was told that Lilo was aggressive and had charged at three different groomers. This was extremely shocking and concerning to me. Lilo has never exhibited aggression toward people or other dogs, and I have never been told by a groomer that she was aggressive or unsafe to handle. When I arrived to pick her up, a manager escorted me to the kennels because they said they were afraid of her. The entire situation left me questioning whether Lilo was actually unable to be groomed because of her behavior or whether there was another issue, particularly given the conflicting explanations I was initially given. I decided to give another groomer a chance the same day and was fortunate enough to find a small grooming shop in Pasadena that had an opening. I explained what had happened at PetSmart, and they proceeded with the grooming. According to the groomer there, Lilo did extremely well and there were no issues. I understand that groomers have every right to refuse service if a dog genuinely presents a safety concern. I would never expect anyone to put themselves at risk. However, I do expect honesty, professionalism, and clear communication--especially when the explanations for why a scheduled appointment was canceled change during the conversation. Unfortunately, this experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I needed Lilo groomed that day, and instead of receiving a straightforward explanation, I was left with conflicting stories and serious concerns about how the situation was handled. Based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable bringing Lilo back to this PetSmart for grooming.

I had never had any interest in the aquarium hobby, fish, or aquatic plants before. I had a 1-gallon cube with a sump, but without any knowledge of the nitrogen cycle (don't do this!), I impulsively purchased six bright endler live bearers, two of each color, and a very unfortunate female who had been accidentally shipped with the males. At the time, it was nearly impossible to find female endlers because endler breeders didn't want us to know how incredibly easy it is to breed these fish. A few months later, I had expanded my collection to nine aquariums, each dedicated to raising all the babies my fish had produced. They taught me the basics of cycling and how plants help eliminate ammonia, and I gradually began adding plants to my tanks. Once I had a few cycled tanks, I started keeping new species of fish. This shop also sells birds, reptiles, and rodents, but I can't provide my opinion on those because I've only purchased fish, aquatic plants, and fish supplies. They have an incredible variety of plants, tropical fish and cichlids, and even some saltwater fish. I absolutely love this place!
