I'm from California and visit the area frequently. On a recent trip here I had a shrimp poboy and a cup of gumbo. The shrimp poboy is a bit expensive BUT it is very good with lots of deliciously seasoned shrimp! The gumbo was also very good but was not served hot and needed to be sent back to get heated up! Went for a quick bite on 6/24/19. It was Monday and we wanted RedBeans and Rice before heading back to Texas. The server was very sweat and did everything just right. The kitchen was a little slow but no big deal. The food was hot and fresh when served. The beans were good but could have used a little more spice. My wife got a order of fried pickles. If you do not have a large group of pickle eaters don't do it. Serving was way to large for 3 people. This is a great lunch place. read more

I ordered 2 lg gumbos, which are delicious, and got one piece of bread. I also ordered a meatball sandwich and extra marinara sauce. When I got home the meatball sandwich was dry and no marinara was included and I got one piece of French bread for 2 large gumbos. Disappointed. Nice spot in Slidell for basic seafood. We had a shrimp Po Boy with extra crispy shrimp piled on high, seafood gumbo, and a blackened (grilled) shrimp salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. We also ordered some Gator Bites with andouille dipping sauce (highly recommend) and hush puppies (average). My daughter and I really enjoyed the gumbo. Pecks was once one of our favorite restaurants but no more. We ordered their spaghetti & meatball plate. We received a plate of pasta with watery red liquid that had zero favor. Pecks food quality has gone down hill. I'll post a picture of what we received next to what they advertise. read more

I know, I was just here a couple days ago. We stood in line for 8-min watching them make 6-5lb bags of boiled crayfish. How I envy youall. We ordered 2 side salads and po-boys. Immediately after we sat at our table, they brought us our salads. Cold crisp and a slice of tomato. With a little shredded cheddar, it was great. 3 minutes later, we got our steaming hot, crunchy sandwich overloaded with seafood. I like the whole concept of order then be seated. That alone is pretty cool. We had the family seafood platter the really big one and could not even eat half of it....It says two can share but i would go with the smaller platter for two and leave it to a party over three or more for the big one. The fried catfish was not seasoned to perfection but the crawfish made up for that. The crawfish/ boiled food seasoning is perfect especially if you have kids that love to eat seafood. The food was tasteless and the staff unfriendly. We had difficulty getting to our table and when asked for a high chair the lady pointed and said over there with no help at all we had our hand full with two car seats and a toddler. The food has no taste at all to it and our tea has a strange taste and smell to it. We will not be back. read more

Thiis place is Awesome! The food was wonderful, the service was good, the atmosphere is family friendly and very welcoming. This was my first time in Slidell. A coworker of my brother suggested we go to Peck's. When you walk in you order at the counter and help yourself to the beverage station. Then the servers will call out the name on the order and bring your food to you. You definitely will not leave hungry. Several of the platters are big enough to share. I have eaten here two nights in a row, and I will definitely come back to Peck's the next time I'm in Slidell!! read more

People here are great. The food is very good and portions are generous. We love the shrimp po-boys and crab claws (when you can get them).

My husband and I enjoyed a great meal at Peck's! You order at the counter and food comes to your table you choose in the nice dining area. We had the award winning gumbo, surf n turf Po-boy, and a grilled shrimp wrap. All dishes were tasty and delicious! Dressed burgers came with nothing. Meat and cheese. That's it. I went to the cashier who conferred with a petite blonde who asked me what I wanted her to do about it, I told her I wasn't going to tell her how to fix it, but it needed to be fixed. I returned to my seat expecting management or someone with some sort of PR skills to at least acknowledge the problem. The cashier stated "oh that was completely my fault". Yes well, do something about it. Everyone made do with the condiments I walked up and asked for. Several minutes later the small blonde hair waitress came back to the table and shrugged and said sorry about that and walked away. Gator bites were gross too. I chose this place and drove in from MS to meet family here. I actually convinced them to come here instead of their first choice. I was actually embarrassed by how bad the food was since it was my recommendation. But the lack of concern or even acknowledgment is why the one star review. This particular visit would warrant zero stars if that was an option. Trying to support a family owned business instead of the many chains... bad choice today for sure. read more

Reasonable priced! Huge portions! Amazing flavors! My party of 5 shared the seafood platter: EVERYTHING IS FRIED except the coleslaw.... It had oysters, fish, shrimp, fries, hush puppies. All of it was very well seasoned and it was so fresh! I was worried that I would get sick of the the food because everything is fried on the platter. I did order an extra side of slaw, a side of crawfish chowder, and blue moon beer. The slaw and the chowder was amazing! To top it with the beer! What a perfect fit! What I love about the place is the beautiful painting on the walls. They even have a deck on the side of the restaurants. Their restroom walls were also painted!!! It was a lovely casual restaurant! Great seafood restaurant in Slidell! Had the Mini ImPeckable Platter and it was enough for 2 people! Big helping of shrimp and fish ! Coleslaw was good and they even offer a small salad as a side. Our first time in Louisiana, and I surely don't plan to eat anything I can get back home! We stopped at the welcome center here in Slidell, and asked the charming ladies we found there to recommend a place for supper. This was on the list and near the hotel. It was standing room only when we walked in. You order and pay at the counter, "pop a squat" (our hostess' recommendation), and they come out of the kitchen minutes later, hollering your name and bearing good things to eat. The gator puppies are little balls of pulled gator meat and bread, and too heavily spiced- they mostly taste of salt and celery. Very disappointing, as gator is a delicious meat when handled properly. Salt and celery was, alas, the leitmotif of the evening. The po'boys were immense piles of fried shrimp on gargantuan rolls. Darling Bride ended up pulling the shrimp off the bread and eating them on their own. The Boy couldn't finish his, and we've been shoveling food into him practically on the hour. Must be growing again, I reckon. Oy. My grilled shrimp wrap was good, but the tomatoes were off. The wrapper was so big, I ended up just pulling out the shrimp and lettuce and eating them. The sweet potato waffle fries were excellent. Our three sandwiches, three fountain drinks, and one order each of sweet potato fries and gator puppies came to $58.18, and I have to say, I've paid less for better. Basically everything is fried here. When I think of seafood restaurant, I think more fresh and grilled fish. However, this is not that kind of seafood restaurant! I ordered a shrimp poboy, which comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and mayo. I really enjoyed my meal! The 5" is really bigger than that and more than enough to feed you, especially if you get a side as well. My brother ordered the BBQ sandwich but expected it to be like Texas BBQ, so he didn't enjoy it and said it came out cold. My father enjoyed his crab cake entree, which came with two cakes. My mom ordered the catfish platter, but the actual fish was very thin, lacked flavor, and was mostly breading on a bed of fries. There isn't a lot of parking - people basically made parking spots to come in. They give you souvenir cups for you to take home as well. read more
