We should have shared a cup of the gumbo instead of the bowl. I had two pounds of boiled crawfish they were good interesting experience. Pretty much the only thing to eat is the tail unless the claws happened to be on the large size. The shrimp Po boy, a half sammie was huge and went home in a container of leftovers. Basically everything is fried here. When I think of seafood restaurant, I think more fresh and grilled fish. However, this is not that kind of seafood restaurant! I ordered a shrimp poboy, which comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and mayo. I really enjoyed my meal! The 5" is really bigger than that and more than enough to feed you, especially if you get a side as well. My brother ordered the BBQ sandwich but expected it to be like Texas BBQ, so he didn't enjoy it and said it came out cold. My father enjoyed his crab cake entree, which came with two cakes. My mom ordered the catfish platter, but the actual fish was very thin, lacked flavor, and was mostly breading on a bed of fries. There isn't a lot of parking - people basically made parking spots to come in. They give you souvenir cups for you to take home as well. read more

I am from California. We don't have food even remotely like this, so casually around our cities. This place is truly a gem type treasure! I always always get the mini seafood platter because it's around $16-$20 and always soooo worth it! You can split it between two people (it's enough) or be fat like me and eat the WHOLE THING!!! SO SO GOOD. JESUS AMEN! I always hog the cocktail sauces because it's so delicious. The mini seafood platter comes with two sides of your choice, fried: fish, oysters, shrimp, etc., those hushpuppies, and probably more but it's been about a month or two. I try to never eat meat because I am a vegetarian, however, everytime I visit, I would be doing myself a disservice by skimping out on this meal. 10/10 every. single. time. I was craving seafood while we were in Slidell and with the help of the Yelp, we found this place. It's way down Gause, almost at the end of the road. This is the kind of place where you order at the counter and fix your own drink. I wouldn't consider it fast food as I believe it's cooked to order, but it definitely has that sort of vibe to it. The hubs and I each ordered a shrimp po'boy and a bowl of crab and corn bisque and Spencer ordered a buffalo wrap. We finished off the meal with an order of bread pudding to-go because we were too stuffed to eat it there. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. It was fairly inexpensive and they didn't skimp on portions. The atmosphere was pleasant. There were marine life murals on the walls, a lot of windows, and a very dirty ceiling. This isn't a traditional sitdown restaurant - you order from a board at the front counter, and sit at a table until they bring it out. Not being able to study a menu can make the selection process tougher. There was plenty of comfortable seating, efficiently laid out. I've been jonesing for some good crab for five days along I-10, so the wife and I decided to stop here on the basis of the Yelp reviews. So glad we did! I had the 10 inch crabcake Poboy, which was absolutely delicious. The roll was stiffer than I would have preferred. My wife ordered the small version of the same and enjoyed hers as well. She also had a side of hush puppies, which were studded with occasional full corn kernels. The crust on the hush puppies was absolutely perfect - these may possibly be the most satisfying hush puppies I've had anywhere. read more

We got one Mini seafood sampler platter meal and shared it and still had food leftover. Food was served hot and fast. Portion sizes were generous. Sauces were a bit runny and not very flavorful. We had fish, shrimp and oysters which were all good- very typical, nothing outstanding. Staff was friendly. Restaurant and restrooms were clean. Grounds were well kept. Ample free parking. For months now, my husband has been looking forward to returning to Louisiana just to eat at Peck's. I cannot begin to describe how utterly disappointed I am. 1) the fried fish was so bland, I've eaten better at a gas station deli. There was zero flavor. Then to make matters worse the platter he was served was extremely skimpy. I tried to justify the small portions since it was all you could eat and he'd be able to get more. Oh how wrong I was. Waitresses ran past but never stopped to check on us. Only after questioning the person bussing the table next to us did a person show up with 3 skimpy pieces of fish on a plate. OMG. 2) the bread was a cold slice of French bread with unmelted butter smeared in one spot. 3) I never received the side salad advertised to come with my crab and shrimp pasta. Peck's is a very casual seafood restaurant in Slidell and it's really good. When you come in you just walk up to the counter and place your order. Then seat yourself wherever you'd like and when your order is ready they'll bring it out to you. I always order the fried shrimp platter here and it is great. It's also huge. It's definitely enough for two people, so if you are dining with someone who'd like the same thing you only need to order one. I do think it's a little on the expensive side for the type of restaurant it is. It's got more of a fast food type of feel, but the food is not priced like fast food. My colleague and I were at an event and got to sample some of Peck's fish and shrimp. It was so good that we decided to go there for lunch! Right off of Gause Blvd. it's a small little place next to a gas station. When you get in though, it smells WONDERUL. Fresh boiled seafood, fried seafood, and daily lunch specials that you'll have enough to save the other half for dinner. The girls at the counter were really nice and helped us choose what to get - we went with the Fried Oyster Salad and the Red Beans and Rice lunch special. Y'all. When I tell you this was enough food for 3 people easily, maybe 4, I'm not lying. The red beans and rice with hot sausage (their specialty) came in a huge plate with a side salad, French bread, and a drink for $9. WHOA. AND it was red beans in the Al Copeland style which you've got to love, along with their hot sausage which tastes like smoked sausage with the texture of a breakfast patty. YUM! Add in the side salad with their homemade remoulade and it's the perfect lunch and dinner leftover. My colleagues Fried Oyster salad was bigger than my head and topped with 20+ oysters. My family and I love love love the portions given in every single meal. It was a party of 12 and we ordered the big peck seafood platter and the mini seafood platter. My kiddos order shrimp platter and p o boys. The shrimp and catfish was cooked to perfection, very crispy and with fresh grease not old. It wasn't. It turned out to be for four, as we took half of it home. Think of the best fish fry you've ever had. Delicate fish with delicate but tasty breading. And extend that to include shrimp and oysters. Only thing that I would have changed is the amount of oysters we had compared to the amount of shrimp. But it was good none the less. read more

We ordered a Half and Half Fish and Shrimp Po Boy dressed with Hot sauce. The fish and shrimp were fried golden and plenty of it. There was no seasoning flavor which is not accepted being raised up in New Orleans, La. where flavor and spice is the main ingredient of any meal. There was no ketchup or Hot sauce on the Po boy. The Seafood Platter was plentiful However no flavor. A side of cheese fries was added onto our order. Oh My God... there was chunks of shredded Cheddar cheese baked on top of my steak potatoes fries. By the time I went to eat into it, I couldn't pull them apart. Cheese fries should have cheese sauce not chunks of shredded cheese baked on top of fries. Causal seafood eatery that looks like a nicer place from the outside but is more of a sportsbar/fast food vibe inside. I was really disappointed the only fish options available were catfish and tuna. The fried seafood really tasted bland to me and I was really unhappy the "seafood" gumbo came with sausage in it as I like my seafood gumbo ALL seafood. The food came out fast and the portions were huge but the price was certainly not a great value either. Flavor of the food was not up to what I expect and the prices just didn't seem like a good value. The fried oysters were HUGE but the batter on them just lacked any flavor.
