I went to this I Pedals Bike Shop with my 3 kids. As soon as we enter the store we were asked if they can help with something, which that's OK, I told him I was looking for a bike for my older son for his birthday. I didn't get the guys name but he was very rude and pushy. He told us if we see a bike there we should just buy it because of low inventory... One of my kids grabbed a water bottle Off the shelf and dropped it by accident. Then the guy says "are you gonna buy that"! .... very bad customer service... as I'm looking through bikes he has if we cannot touch the bikes because if something happens to them they don't have the resources to get them fixed right away because of Covid... very bad experience for my kids and myself.. we ended up going to different bike shop where they offer great customer service, let my son try out bike in the parking lot and ended up buying a bike there. Creeper In the back should stay hidden for the sake of this business. My 2 kids and I went to pedals to look for a bike for my 2 year old. We were helped by a very nice employee by the name of Ethan he was kind to bring bikes to my son for sizing purposes. We liked a bike and we're ready to purchase and pick up the bike after we biked home and got the truck, but as my son was on the bike the creep in the back (manager possibly owner) came out of the back and rudely interrupted stating he knows I'm trying these bikes out for size but he didn't want my son to damage the bike. My son was just sitting on a bike. I nicely replied ok and removed my son from the bike. At that point I was ready to take my money elsewhere, but my daughter had found some accessories for her bike and bought them with her own money. My daughter came to me and said that when she was at the register Ethan had a tag from a bike and the creep manager asked if we had bought the bike. Ethan stated no that he accidentally removed it. Then the creeper sighed and rolled his eyes. It made my daughter uncomfortable and she came to me to tell me that the creep in the back was rude to his employee. Ethan gets 5 stars for being courteous, helping put on accessories on my daughter's bike and being professional. Creep manager in the back 0 stars, rude and unprofessional I love to shop local and small but for my bike needs I will go elsewhere. read more

This bike shop makes an effort to come to UCR every Tuesday; so, yesterday I finally decided to check out what services they offer and what merchandise they carry. My overall experience, was great. In the future, I will seek out their services again because Jason (the owner) and his staff were friendly and helpful. We spoke briefly about the issues my bike was having and he offered insight and a solution that was not very expensive. Another reason, I like these guys is because the service time was what they said it would be. For example, after I brought my bike to Pedals they had me fill out the standard forms and leave my bike. They said the job would be complete within the hour and sure enough it was. Kudos to them for keeping up with the work load. Lastly, being a college student, I am always looking for discounts to save money. Pedals while on campus performs services for a discount rate. With that said, the quality of work was still there so that was a win-win. Again, everything about this place was great, so you should definitely check them out if you need your bike worked on. read more

I had a horrible experience there. I walked in to simply purchase a tire and tube to place on a rim for my 5 year old. The person helping me told me to come back the following day to put it on....absolutely ridiculous. I took my business to Woodcrest shop and they treated us like a human. My fiancé just purchased a used Fixie bike from off another party and thought the front tire had a small leak. He came in PDS today and Jason checked the tire only to find out it was really low on air. Whilst pumping up his tire, Jason told my fiancé that the previous owner had the handle bars on backwards, lol. My fiancé removed the handle bars and reinstalled them in the correct position at home, however when doing so, he broke the brake lever. My fiancé came back to the shop 30 mins before closing to purchase a new brake lever, thinking he'd have to install the new one at home being that it was so close to closing time. To his surprise, Jason stopped what he was working on and tended to my fiancé; removing and reinstalling the new brake lever as well as completing a thorough inspection of the bike - inspecting/tightening any bolts or screws, adjusted the brake pads in the correct position, adjusted the handlebars AND adjusted the seat to the correct position. All in all, my fiancé told me how well the customer service was and encouraged this 5/5 star review. We will definitely be back. Thanks Jason! read more

Your classic bike shop. In this day and age of corporations, it's just nice to see a privately owned business. They even have the sweetest shop dog named Kona. It's been awhile since I rode a bike. Everyone was super nice and helped me pick the perfect bike. I was still hesitant because I didn't know where or what to do with a bike other then taking it to the beach and camping. I've been going to pedals for quite some time now, as their service and advice is simply second to none. I have a big family that family enjoys cycling, and keeping mom, dad, and six kids in new bikes is not exactly in our current budget, so this is where Pedals has been so helpful. I started going to the shop for the basics like tires and tubes since my boys seem to be involved in a long term experiment to see what won't flatten BMX tires, plus I like to have them safety check the bikes from time to time because well, they're boys and boys do dumb things! Jason and his guys have fixed numerous bikes for us, and have helped to keep this old guy riding by not breaking the bank with repair costs. They listen to our needs, and guide us to the best use of our budget without doing the typical mechanic style upselling that makes me despise car dealerships! One of the coolest things about Pedals is that besides having good deals on new stuff, they've passed along some awesome deals on demo bikes, previous season bikes, etc. that enabled us to upgrade into some pretty nice stuff and stay within my budget. They are passionate about all kinds of cycling, and I love how my kids are always more exciting about riding after stoping in. The owner was a pro mountain biker himself, and one of his other guys is a pro rider for a BMX bike company, so even if all we buy is some new tubes, my boys leave totally pumped, and that's what makes me happy! read more

I stopped in to this place to pick up a couple things I needed to fix up a bike I had bought for cheap for my wife. I've done some work on my own bike in the past, so I knew I could handle most of the work on my own, but I wanted to seek out some advice anyways. I walked in and was greeted by the two guys working. The guy who who helped me was great! I told him what I was doing, showed him pictures of the bike and he made recommendations for what I should replace and what I can tune up myself. He got me the supplies and advice I needed and I walked out with everything I needed to get the bike back into decent shape. $30 for the bike (did not buy bike at this store), $30 for supplies = great deal for a good bike. read more

I just left Pedals a little while ago, and the staff is extremely helpful, professional, and courteous--on the phone and in person. I went because the front tire on my road bike went completely flat in a matter of minutes. I thought I needed only an inner tube, but it turned out my tire was cracked, so I had to get a new one. I also decided to have my brakes tightened while I was there. I had to leave to go to the bank since I didn't expect to have so much done to my bike, so I left my bike at the shop and walked to Wells Fargo. When I came back, I waited about five minutes, and my bike was ready. Once I left, I immediately noticed how much smoother my bike rode. I HIGHLY recommend Pedals to anyone who's looking to get anything fixed on his or her bike; it's the perfect place to go. read more

I first stumbled into this place with the ambition of one day riding a bike for exercise. They had 4 bikes for sale and the one I liked most was one of them. I came into possession of a late 80s, early 90s freestyle BMX bike. It reminded me of the bike I had when I was a kid so I wanted to get it tuned up and replace all the broken parts. I thought the cost was a bit high, but they were great and they are running a brick and mortar store so even though I could have done it all myself for easily less than half of what they charged, $5 labor to change the hand grips, I didn't have to touch a tool and that is what is important to me. They also finished the job early so bonus points for that. read more

He fixed my bikes while I went shopping nearby and his prices were better than the other, bigger bike shop in this part of town (which recently went out of business). For repairs, I highly recommend this place. The only drawback worth noting is the showroom is tiny, maybe 200 square feet, so if you're looking to buy a new bike you won't find a huge selection. read more

This is the real deal. I first checked all the box stores for a budget bicycle. The bikes were very cheaply built and poorly assembled. It became clear that there was nothing that was going to work for me. (I'm a heavy rider) So I made the trip to Pedals and Jason (the owner) spent over an hour helping me and answering all my questions about which aspects of a bike were most important to me given my needs. Then to top it off, he gave me a super deal on a bike I fell in love with. Their attention to customer service is top-notch... and the quality of the bikes, build and setup are incredible. I was having problems with my road bike and the tuneups,no one seems to get it right so a friend of mine took me over to pedals and introduced me to them. They ask me what the problems I have been having and they listened ,and they gave me options on things and didn't push the higher price stuff on me "like other bike shops" did ,So i left the bike there and they called me and told me it was done which was a long list of things to be fixed I got there and WOW the bike has never been so GREAT!!! I really liked coming here ONLY because it was close to where I live. However, after realizing how absurd their prices are for everything they're really just trying to take as much money as they can from you. Won't be coming back, they charge $5 that the Moreno Valley bicycle shop would do for free. Not to mention they fixed my bike seat and loosened it a little bit so I'd have to come back to get it right again. They're the last bicycle shop I'd visit. read more

We called pedals and got the worst customer service over the phone I have ever had. The guy was rude and instead of answering my question I had, he kept telling me to just bring the bike in. When I got there with the part that needed to be fixed, the guy was just as rude and in fact not helpful. Instead of asking to order the part or even finding it somewhere else, he just said it could not be fixed today. I will never give this company my business.
