The iced coffee is weak. The word organic can be deceiving at times. Smooth and strong would be my description, but not here. I was also tempted to try their pastries, but I had already planned to grabbed it somewhere else. I was more drawn to this place because of the view and pond area. I actually sat down for a few minutes to watch the ducks swim around in the water. Huge plus is that it's located on Granville Island. Great place to be visiting. read more

Pedro's is a nice peaceful spot away from the crowds of the Granville Market coffee options. There also is the bonus of free WiFi and more power outlet options than Granville Market but they certainly could add more of them so every table or at least more tables could have outlets. They also have a comfy couch area with some of them being well worn along with a patio area. Pedro's also has a gelato selection and some other food. read more

I'll keep this short and sweet, like my latte. :) Pedro's is officially amazing in my book! My friend suggested it, and after biking around Vancouver all day, I was ready for a warm drink. I spotted a roobois maple tea latte on the iced menu. That sounded like a great one to try, so I ordered it with almond milk. Then I was told I could get it hot, so I switched it to that as it was chilly out and I was ready for some warmth. Oh. My. Word. It was so good! Decided to give this place a visit on our way to Granville island and I'm so glad I did! By far the best London fog latte I've tried in both Toronto and Vancouver - it had a strong Earl grey flavour and the after taste was milky. My bf had the caramel macchiato and that was good as well. I would definitely revisit! read more

I'm impressed - with the coffee, that is. I was out for an afternoon and I wanted coffee. My coffee cravings lead me here. I saw the "organic" signage and didn't think too much of it. I thought, likely this will be like any other run of the mill coffee house with some coffee that tastes only OK, and not much more beyond that. I was wrong. Granted they seved the coffee out of one of those carafes that has premade coffee in it, and I ordered just the daily brew, this coffee was quite good. Actually very good. There were chocolate notes in it. Not bitter, not sour, and a medium roast. I asked where they got their coffee from and they said Los Beans near gastown. They also mentioned that the beans for their medium roast are actually a blend, and not single origin. Guess where I'm going to check out coffee????? read more

I realize it's a coffee shop, but what drew us in was the gelato- a small case of interesting flavors promising a sweet afternoon treat. The gelato itself (the mango-vanilla flavor in particular) was great, with a creamy consistency, but it was served precariously set on top of the cone so that it just sat there. The gelato was quickly gone and the cone itself, empty, was basically tossed. WIFI password available at the register, go around back to the quieter sitting around with couches if you need to get some work done. read more

3 reasons why I'm a fan of Pedro's: 1. They serve some of the best London fogs and almond milk vanilla lattes I've had in a long time. Yes I had both in one visit. I was there for quite a bit of time getting some work done and felt myself crashing after my London fog and needed a quick pick me up. Insert caffeine there. 2. So many seating options! Patio, lounge, or table inside? Take your pick! I sat in the lounge area towards the back to get some work done and then moved my way out to the patio to soak up some vitamin D. 3. Among the business of Granville Island, Pedro's is quiet and peaceful. A great spot to get some work done if you're in the area. Or to sit and enjoy a cup of whatever you fancy. Vancouver has really good coffee and this place was no exception. It's a small shop on the right as you enter Granville Island. Nothing really spectacular about the place, but I was happy with my coffee and so was Carter. One thing to note is that they do not take American Express, so have your Canadian dollars or visa/mastercard ready! p.s. There is a cute little pond behind it. I've not partaken in all of the joys Pedro's has to offer: it's usually a matter of ordering a coffee to go then heading off to the Public Market or for a waterside walk. Service hasn't been overly friendly, but it is polite and prompt. The coffee tastes well-balanced and medium strength. It's always hot. Whether for a sweet snack or cuppa coffee, Pedro's is a great pit stop. Although I'd personally save my cravings for sweets to indulge at the nearby Public Market. read more

We've been here but once, after exploring the island and needing a time-out and a cool drink. It was a pleasant visit. We ordered espresso ice cubes, which are served with milk and Madagascar brown sugar simple syrup. The young man at the counter was charming, funny and kind. The drink itself was perfect. You pour the milk over the espresso ice cubes and add a bit of the simple syrup. As the cubes melt into the drink it makes for a wonderful iced coffee, and you can continue to sweeten to your taste as the ice cubes melt. We got a muffin which was moist and slightly sweet. We sat outside, enjoyed the bird song, the sound of children playing in the distance, and the sun light. A lovely pause in our day. read more

It was around 545 and the cashier was cleaning up the store. All their food items had been put a way. I went up to the girl and asked when do they close she said 6 pm. I asked her what their most popular food item is.... she said the savoury scone. Ok get me that and a Diet Coke... Hmmm... the scone was pretty good. I think Pedro's is a pretty cool coffee shop to hang out in. It's well spaced out and they have comfy chairs to enhance the comfy shop environment. It's too bad they close so early! read more

I would give it four stars, but for the prices. Call it the "Granville Island tourist premium." A couple of ice teas and pastries set us back $13 and change. But it earned us the right to enjoy Pedro's big back patio looking out over the pond where ducks, Canada geese and seagulls all frolic peacefully together in the sunshine, tralala. It's also a great spot for people watching. Heck be darned, it's so calming here I don't even mind the sound of other people's children. Note to the stroller set: Pedro's does pride itself on being kid-friendly, going so far as to reserve the little back room with toys and games for the use of parents with children. I probably wouldn't come here in winter, though, as the interior of the cafe is quite narrow and cramped. But in sunny weather, it's almost perfect for a chill time with caffeine. read more

This is certainly a lovely location to sit and relax out of the mayhem of the market. The cafe is very cute and there's no shortage of activity to entertain. The owner is all about business, so not so much about chit chat. The coffee itself is billed as organic and fair trade, however the fair trade part is in QUOTES! That gets my eyebrow up. Pedros is the gateway to decent coffee and a childrens playground. On any given summer Saturday morning grab a coffee, and a friend for a chat, or even a great book and lounge on the back patio. You'll watch children feeding geese, imagining themselves sailing on the high sea and getting brain freezes from their gelato scooped next door. The atmosphere inside is like any old coffee shop (perhaps akin to bojangles in yaletown), with appetizing looking pastries and friendly baristas, but it's the outside energy that makes this place a star on its own. read more

Just for the record, I do not have an addictive personality but when it comes to coffee I honestly think about it all the time. It's the reason I get out of bed in the morning and as I am drinking my last sip I am thinking about my next cup. Now I must also stress that I do not just drink any coffee, "If i don't like it I don't swallow". At home I grind it right before it goes in a french press and I think Tim Horton's is the root of all evil. Except for Tim Bits. Whoever says they don't like Tim Bits are liars. I digress. I was walking to Granville Island Market and decided to take a new route for some new scenery. I saw this little place and figured I would give it a chance since i've tried every other coffee place in the area. So i went in and as I was waiting to order I was observing all of the tasty treats they offered. They had a huge variety including gluten, soy and dairy free options. I ordered a coffee only and it was very pleasant. I wasn't expecting much of this little place but I was quite pleased. I must include that they also sell bird seed for customers who want to drink their coffee on the dock and feed the birds. Cute. A good way to keep the kids busy while you drink your brew. read more

I really love this place. Not only is it organic and "green", but it has the perfect location and an even more perfect patio out back. On a sunny day, the patio is spilling onto the waters surrounding Granville Island. It's a great place to spend a lazy afternoon with either your own reading, or something from their shelves. The aroma of the coffee is enticing and invites you in to have more. I really like the smoothies, especially the raspberry one! I should know better by now, but I am always a little nervous to order coffee from a place I haven't been to before. I have had my share of bad coffee by taking a chance on a new place, but what kind of sissy would I be if I couldn't take one for the team once in awhile, right? Luckily for me, Pedro knows good coffee, not burnt coffee! They use organic beans here and it clearly makes all the difference. The process is beyond me but I trust them to know it well and they definitely do! I most often get my drink to go but should you be in need of a foot rest and a dry space, Pedro's offers a lovely setting for doing just that. Local acrylic artworks hang from the walls and the ambiance is warm and cozy with soft lounge chairs in the corner and smaller tables nearby. Should you be in need of sustenance or a treat, Pedro's also serves up great baked muffins and scones, as well as fresh wraps and sandwiches. read more

Pedro's is the perfect place to stop to fuel up on caffeine before hitting up the rest of Granville Island. They make a great soy latte! There's plenty of indoor seating if you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy your beverage, but if it's a nice day you'll probably want to head out through the back to watch the ducks on the water. read more

I used to come here all the time to do work. I'd bring my laptop and sit outside on one of their tables in the sun. They never minded me sitting here for hours on end, but I always made sure to buy a couple of drinks and some food. The location of Pedro's is great, right at the entrance to Granville Island and just beside a cute little duck pond. There are often young kids feeding the ducks and looking for turtles but I never found the noise to be a problem. The food was fresh and included sandwiches, baked goods, as well as my favourite; their wraps. These came with crispy chips and a salad on the side. This café also makes some delicious organic coffee. The staff here are polite and the atmosphere inside Pedro's is that of a cosey little cottage. It is small, but friendly and very inviting. All in all Pedro's is a very pleasant experience. read more

I visited here looking for a coffee shop with wifi. Ordered a drip coffee and a muffin. The coffee that I got was weak and not tasty and the muffin that I ordered to go with it was days (not just day-old) old. The staff was friendly and courteous and the shop is nicely situated beside the duckpond and playground. While the free wifi offered is good, I am afraid that my experience says that is one of the best things that they have to offer. read more

I did some of my art here. The barista at the time looked exactly like my ex boyfriend. The only difference is that he was nice and made my London fog perfectly. Located just on the perimeter of Granville Island, this pleasant little coffee house offers sandwiches, croissants, burritos and a good range of pastries. They also, of course, serve coffee. This is one of the few places in Vancouver that actually know how to prepare a proper mocha. I happily make a special detour to this outlet for that reason alone. If you order a panini sandwich or burrito, they actually serve it to you properly heated straight through. I've lost count of the many franchise outlets that serve heated panini, croissants and burritos that are hot on the outside and stone cold on the inside. Bravo, Pedro. Located right at the entrance to Granville Island, this is the perfect first stop on your Sunday morning stroll. The coffee here is delicious and, as the name denotes, organic. They have their own means of "flavourlocking" their coffee to ensure a high degree of freshness. If it matters to you, there's a ring of complicated philosophy surrounding their brewing techniques, preparation methods and the principles they uphold that's available for in-store reading or through their website. For me, however, my primary concern is whether they produce good, strong coffee, which they do. read more

I've been to Pedros a few times now since I started working on Granville Island, and I have to say each time I've been here the Baristas have been very rude and super unhelpful. Maybe some people like that (such as those who frequent "the elbow room" on Davie), but I find it quite unwelcome. The other day, for example, I asked for the wifi password while waiting for a friend to show up, and even though it was a simple password, and he knew what it was, the attendant made me walk all the way back around the counter and around other customers to read it off a small paper attached to the till. Since finding the place a few weeks ago, I've maybe spent $100 bucks here. In the future, I will be spending $0. Don't forget who your customers are, guys! Perdo's is a great little spot on Granville Island to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the tourists. I really enjoy their coffee and for a little coffee shop they have a pretty good selection of sandwiches and cakes. The staff are always super friendly too. Plus they have delicious gelato in the summer. A nice change from the big chain coffee shops. read more
