Critics say that Peerce's isn't "authentic" Indian cuisine. To that I say who the heck cares the food is AMAZING! The location on Dulaney Valley Rd. is iconic, if you grew up in Baltimore you went here for many special occasions. Now the space has been transformed and it is gorgeous inside. We sat in a small room with a cozy fire and the whole experience was delightful! The green salad with beets and mint and lime dressing was probably the best salad I have ever had and I eat ALOT of salads. My husband had the Crab Malabar which he loved and I tried the Chilean Sea Bass with tomato and basil sauce WOW. Even if you think you don't like Indian food just go...the flavors are so imaginative and the atmosphere is really special. Can't wait to go back in the spring and sit outside on the beautiful patio. This is my new favorite Baltimore County restaurant. Hands down. read more

We love Peerce's and the staff. We come here at least once a month and are greeted as family. From Khair to Nipa and William, the staff is friendly as can be. Then we stop at the bar for a night cap w/ Carol and Nadine who always are attentive and ready to serve. Can't comment on the food, just the bizarre/rude behavior of the manager(I assume, as he never introduced himself). We were seated in a windowless room, tried to adjust to the very dark atmosphere, but decided after we ordered that we wanted a table in a room with windows. Rain was threatened, so people who had wished to eat outdoors couldn't. I would have been fine with an apology that all the tables in the windowed rooms were taken, but the aggressively rude "what do you want me to do about it." Escalating rapidly to "you can leave" and "we don't want your kind of customer anyway " was frankly shocking. We left. read more

When we did get someone on the phone, they asked us to call back later because they were too busy and they hung up before we even got a chance to say anything. FYI- Peerces is charging $8.00 PER PERSON for heaters if you dine outside. I didn't believe it when someone told me, so I called there. Went here last Friday for the first time and can not believe I haven't been here sooner. This is a wonderful restaurant with such a beautiful setting. Our server was helpful, yet relaxed. He was just what you want from a server. We shared the tuna appetizer which was refreshingly prepared, and the onion pancakes served in a delicious curry sauce. My wife had the short rib entree, it was melt in your mouth tender. I had the lobster, and it was incredible. We shared the garlic naan which was good but not a show stopper. We shared the bread pudding for dessert and that was unbelievably delicious. Even the coffee was really really good. I can not wait to go back. My husband and I went to dinner at Peerce's for our 31st anniversary. We were sorry we did. His beef tenderloin was dry and tough. My lobster tail was about as big as a jumbo shrimp and it didn't really taste that great. I got the fallen lemon souffle for dessert and it was dry and cake like. We had mixed feelings about our experience at Peerce's. We went during the week for a special occasion and sat inside in nice room behind the bar. I grew up in this area so I have many fond memories of the original restaurant and the many special occasions we spent there. The space is beautiful and location great. The food was good but and prices seemed reasonable for the quality of our dinner. The menu is obviously Indian aimed but with a nod to certain American stables such as beef fillet, duck, lamb shank, & fish. Flavor and seasonings were good and not over the top. The reason I brought down the rating a bit was that we all felt that the server was condescending and a bit surly. Really unfortunate but he definitely gave the impression he was doing us a favor and his answers to our questions were returned with sarcasm and attitude. We will not be going back very soon as we prefer to give our business to people that are happy to have us there. read more

Went to pearces on Jan 5 for my daughters birthday, have been there about 5 times now. The food was no where near the type of food we had been getting there. My son and I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. Kind of like a Mrs Pauls fish stick. It was a rectangular piece of fish and I mean about 4 x 2 x1 that was dragged through breadcrumbs and deep fried. We are from out of town and were fortunate enough to have been guests for dinner at Peerce's. From the exterior, the restaurant looks like a quaint, small place, but once inside, you realize that it is a very large, and eclectic combination of rooms and decor, which adds to a romantic and higher end atmosphere for dinner. Greeted nicely at the entrance, and we were then seated in a beautiful patio/garden setting. Our server was very attentive and well informed with regards to the menu. We ordered a couple apps and one (kerala crab cakes) was so good, we ordered a second one. We ordered an assortment of dinners, in addition to the Monsoon soup, which was fantastic and very filling. The soup is a version of gazpacho with a generous portion of crab added. The food presentation was very good, and after tasting the apps, dinners and soup, it was obvious that they were made with fresh ingredients. We were told later that Peerce's oversees their own farm so the majority of their ingredients are the definition of farm to table. Overall, our dining experience was fantastic. I noticed a couple reviews mentioned the prices, but we found our experience to be well worth the cost. If you want a burger, not the place for you. If you want a high end meal, in addition to a pleasant and beautiful atmosphere, this fits the bill. Hint... while you are there, wander throughout the property to see the different interior and exterior dining areas. Each has its own flavor and decor. We forgot to ask, but I can see renting out one of the many rooms for a rehearsal dinner or other special occasions. We will add this to our list of must visits whenever we visit the Baltimore area. I wish I could say I had the pleasure of dining at Peerce's but it so long for us to get a table (40m after our 6pm reservation), that it put a bad taste in my mouth. By the time we actually got our food, we had spent nearly two hours sitting outside and it (and the weather!) had turned cold. It was such a shame because the restaurant had all the makings of a 5 star establishment, but the customer service was severely lacking. After we approached the manager a second time as to the whereabouts of our food, he told us that they were "busy", "It's Friday night" and "What did we expect?" Then, when the bill came, totaling almost $200, nothing was comped. I was shocked and quite frankly, insulted. I know we're in the middle of the pandemic, but if you are short-staffed, don't take it out on your clientele. Seat only as many people as you can attend to and set reasonable expectations for the wait. read more

While she was in the middle of eating her entree, waiters came over to rush us along, bringing boxes over and the dessert menu. I spent over $300. I don't know how to really critique this except comparing Peerce's to Indian cuisine I've had in the past but I've had plenty. When one goes for Indian food, even if it's a more lightly spiced Eastern influenced restaurant, you expect FLAVORS of herbs, tangy, sweet, savory, exotic, spicy and everything seasoned well. The flavors at Peerce's severely lacked in most of what we ordered and really underscored traditional Indian cuisine IMO. The Chicken Vindaloo was watered down, more of a thin soup than a sauce, little flavor and the chicken was a little tough. I love chicken but this was more of a taste and texture of large pieces of boiled chicken. Palak Paneer with the ginger was REALLY good and the best dish we had but it also lacked seasoning. The lentil side dish and Chana Masala didn't have the typical depth of flavor. Chilean Sea Bass had too much breading, no seasoning, no spices, no nothing, just bland. Even the different onion, potato and goat cheese nanns had little flavor. I'd expect a side of Indian rice to have some traditional cinnamon, cumin, cloves, cardamom, etc. etc. Unfortunately, we received a Basmati rice that was just cooked with water, cumin seed and it was bland. Peerce's is in a nice location by the reservoir, they put a ton of money into the renovations and they have a great menu. Unfortunately, it's like they are afraid to get into the spice cabinet, use some salt, and kick things up a notch to traditional Indian cuisine. If they do, (I hope they do) they will have something really special and this restaurant will be the talk of the town for a long time to come. 3.75 stars. A positive though not flawless experience. Glad Peerce's is up and running again. Food was good. I actually ordered one goat meal and strangely received one I did not order. It looked good, so I kept mum. Thankfully, it was tasty. The ambiance is pretty formal, but you feel like you can still get away with a nice pair of Jeans. We ate early and were rewarded with a seat right in front of the fireplace. I would go back, but would not say rush to go back. I liked the food, but the portion was just a bit lightweight for me, and the prices not cheap, about $34 a plate. Ambiance (lighting) was just a little too dark for my taste. I hope they do well. Went there last night. Very nice setting. Seated right away, good waiter. Good food. BUT. Portions are small! Way overpriced. Manager was rude. My wife asked basic questions and manager pretty much shut that down. Even though this place is owned by the same owner as Long established location near JHU this place can use some of what the other place does. I have been eating Indian food for years. I know what a entree costs normally. I did notice the pricing but I figured nice portions. Small entree. Portions were not worth the price. Good service and food tastes good. Unbelievable Food, Amazing Ambience, Friendly Staff!

Peerce's review: We were party of 4 multi ethnic group, and made an early dinner reservation at 5pm. When arrived at the resturant, we were seated outside as we requested. We were uncomfortably rushed to order food and drinks. We ordered two rounds of drinks and some appetizers for a total cost of $120 (just drinks and appetizers). Then, we placed our order of the main dinner course which would cost about $150. While waiting for the dinner course, it started to rain. Politely and in a friendly manner, we asked both the resturant manager and his assistant twice to be seated inside where tables were available. The manager ignored our request and said he would cancel our main course, then told us to " pay the bill and clear-out". This happened after I asked him to prepare the main course to take with us as he wouldn't accommodate us to set inside while raining. The manager's arrogance and lack of professional behavior is so evidenced in the way he was talking to us. He even did not take the courtesy to nicely apologize for not being able to accommodate us. That's basic "Customer Service" behavior which this "Manager" lacks with excellency! It's worth noting that as we live couple miles away from the resturant, we have been supporting it during COVID pandemic. We have ordered food to go from Peerce's many times in the last few months. However, because of the manager's unprofessional attitude and lack of basic courtesy as a customer service provider, regretfully, we will never dine at Peerce's again so long that unprofessional manager is there! read more

We had a very nice dinner last night at Peerce's Plantation. Not being familiar with Indian food we were in for an adventure. The interior looks great, lots of atmosphere, numerous fireplaces, cozy but elegant. Wonderful, welcoming bar area too. Dinner was very fresh and enjoyable. There are so many items offered. We had a pork dish, chicken dish and lamb dish and we all cleaned our plates. Be sure to try their Bread Pudding for dessert! We will be back and bring our friends. read more

I guess the decor is Indian but it reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright, very attractive. The bar, where we usually eat, is comfortable and Carol and Nadine are friendly, experienced tenders. But most important is that the food is great. It is not always on the menu, but if the goat is available, go for it. It is outstanding. The soft crabs are nothing like our traditional Maryland style but they are excellent. We have taken several friends to Peerces who are notoriously unadventurous eaters and they couldn't believe how good it was. Nice atmosphere, Bland Dishes Restaurant is attractive with a country decor but not Indian inspired. The dishes we had were bland and lacking usual Indian spice and flavors. The salmon tikka was overcooked which made it a chore to eat without a sauce and the side dish it was served with was lacking flavor. My date had the jalfrezi, which was mostly sautéed onions and peppers and completely unimaginative in its preparation and presentation. If you want tasty Indian cuisine look elsewhere. Plenty of great options in Baltimore and surrounding counties. Doubt this restaurant will get many return customers who were curious to see what was done with the old Peerce's Plantation. read more

This place lacked in food and service both. The staff made us wait for 30 mins before seating us, despite a reservation and we were seated out back, in a secluded area. The front staff and the waiter, both lacked basic hospitality manners! The food was bland and tasteless. This is not Indian food, not even Indian food to cater to the American palate. We ordered Dal makhani, which wasn't even that, the lentils were all wrong! When we spoke about this to the waiter and requested to talk with the chef or manager, we were told, this is what it is, it's their "family recipe". The goat cheese naan, had no goat cheese. And the list goes on. This place needs work on both its service and food, hopefully management takes notice of that and not brush off their customers. read more

First time here and this restaurant is so beautiful inside with multiple fireplaces, a big bar area and wonderful outdoor area with many heaters and a fire pit area! Made a reservation for 5 to celebrate my son's birthday. This was confirmed by email exchanges with the restaurant when we changed the time of our arrival. We were disappointed upon arrival to see they had no record of our reservation. Worse, there was no a knowledgemeant of my son's birthday in the form of a complimentary dessert which I expected. It was embarrassing to hear waiters singing Happy Birthday to another guest a few tables away while we were neglected. while the food was good, ao found the prices too high. dinner for 5 came to over $500 with drinks. I found the $50 corkage fee (to open our bottle of special celebratory wine we brought for the occasion) high, which involves bringing 5 glasses and opening our bottle. $15-35 drinks were overpriced too. ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS - and it was by far the worst meal I've ever paid real US dollars for. 2/4 items I ordered came out wrong, and after waiting more than an hour for our food, I just "sat with it" and ate the wrong dish. I'm extremely sympathetic to short staffing, supply chain issues, general Covid troubles - but that doesn't account for the inability to make a good samosa or why on earth there was maple syrup in the FISH CURRY ?? So, this place seems to get negative reviews from people who are extremely knowledgeable about Indian cuisine and who feel that it is somehow inauthentic or unfaithful to the cuisine they grew up with. OK. Its fantastic food, however, and excellent service, in a beautifully redone environment. We went with another couple, tried as many things as we physically could (including dessert) and could not have been happier with every single thing we ate. Was it certified authentic? No idea / don't care. But it was delicious. Bonus - there is an excellent bourbon and wine selection. All 4 of us wished we had tried it sooner and we will certainly be back. My parents got married at Peerces about 200 years ago, and I'm thrilled that it is once again a beautiful destination dining experience. We dined at Peerce's in their sublime outdoor area last month and had The. Most. perfect evening. We've enjoyed our previous dining experiences in their sumptuously decorated interior on several occasions, but this was the first time we'd enjoyed the outside atmosphere at Peerce's and we're hooked. We immediately made another reservation for our upcoming anniversary dinner in the same section. The unobtrusive lighting, the flowering plants and sculptural Crepe Myrtles, combined with the sun setting over the treetops surrounding nearby Loch Raven, set the mood to perfection. It ended up raining a bit later, but with the oversized double umbrellas that ended up adding to the ambiance. The food was, as always, a treat. We commonly stop to get carry out from Peerce's since they've opened as they're just the best Indian food around. We brought our young children with us , which normally we would hesitate to do, but at Peerce's both the staff and owner are always so kind to them and always take the extra time to listen to them tell some goofball joke or watch good-naturedly as one of them hops up to demonstrate a twirl they just learned. We came here for the first time for a special occasion but were sorely disappointed. Right off the bat, they were playing 60s music at a distractingly loud volume for what is supposed to be a classy place. Thankfully we were able to sit outside, where the decor was lovely. We enjoyed the meat samosa, but things went downhill from there. The lamb korma was surprisingly bland and while edible it was possibly the worst of all the korma we've had for how tasteless it was. The duck was decent but hardly worth the price. The pear martini smelled like pears but tasted like gasoline. The warm bread pudding with a crunchy crust was decadent and amazing until you get closer to the center where it was ice cold. The only redeeming aspects were the nice outdoor setting and service. To make up for this utter failure of an outing, we're going to the Mint Leaf instead. Much better Indian food at a more reasonable price. read more
