The store itself was clean and organized, making it an easy stop whether you're grabbing coffee to go or hanging out for a bit. Located off of California Street & Burlingame Ave, this Starbucks location is pretty much within the middle of the major shopping district of Burlingame. There isn't a drive thru, and parking is limited (even with meters out front). Be prepared to walk after parking somewhere else, or find a space early. Not withstanding the parking situation, the service here is pretty good. Prompt, efficient, friendly- this is all that you need. Very impressed that one barista alone can handle walk in orders (like me), and mobile pickups simultaneously & accurately with a smile. read more

Love this location - nestled snug on the corner in downtown Burlingame, the location has a lot to offer - lots of natural light, ample seating, clean restrooms, strong wi-fi, and a fun view of the street and passersby. I usually enjoy Starbucks matcha, but this time it was disappointing. The drink wasn't mixed at all I had to stir it myself, and even then, the powder was still clumpy. Came around 4:15 on a Saturday (February 24, 2024). Appalling customer service, particularly from an employee named Skye. After we had waited more than 15 minutes for our drink to be prepared, we asked for a refund. Guests who arrived much later than us got their drink before us. The employees could not figure out how to give us a full refund - they were only able to refund $5.75 for the $5.95 we paid for our drink. Because they could not figure out the refund, a barista said she would prepare it. Skye insisted the drink had been ready although it was not (why would the other barista say she would make it if it was ready already? we had been waiting by the pickup area and no drink had been prepared). Skye continually insisted, without apology, and very rudely. She was able to figure out a refund for the drink, but for $6. Upon giving us the refund, she asked "happy now?" I am shocked by the lack of customer service at this location. The transaction was not difficult, and the politeness required to make this exchange easy and painless does not seem to be difficult either. I would ask that the employees be trained better at this location. Very disappointed. read more

Kiddos want to have hot chocolate and we dropped by minutes before they close. They were friendly and suggested kids size of hot chocolate. There were limited seatings in this place. It was right before their closures, so pastries have been put away and tables and chairs need some good clean. Their staff are friendly. I don't come to Starbucks often but their sandwiches don't disappoint and I already know what I expect with their coffee. Their customer service is excellent as always. I've supported Starbucks for years and think I'll now shift my support to the local coffee shop down the street. This location gave us the wrong drink this morning, which was no problem - I just had to go back to correct it. The barista was just staring at me without much help. The store manager was yelling at me that there is no coupon. But when ordered online everything worked out. No apologies from them. I wanted to go to a 24 hour Starbucks, but decided against it. This Starbucks has always been one of my favorites, and has not disappointed me today. It's been a year almost since I set foot in here, I moved closer to the city. Well, I gym at the 24 hours in San Mateo, so, I think I will start coming here again for my favorite ice coffee with an extra shot and coconut milk with no sugar. The baristas at the register does her job well, and greeted me while helping the customer in front of me. The barista at the espresso machine called my drink out loud and clear by my name and drink and the drink taste Starbucks Standards. Which is a high bar, when I use to work as a shift supervisor. That is another story. Great location for a coffee shop. Outdoor seating in the front. Same "Starbucks" vibe you get at all locations. Here's why I'm leaving a 5 star review: I found the staff to be extremely kind. I purchased 2 drinks and intended to buy a bag of coffee beans. I didn't know which beans to buy, so I asked the cashier. She asked which kind of coffee I preferred, and gave me her recommendations. She offered to grind the beans for me as well. As I was waiting for the drinks to be made, the barista leaned over and asked me if I wanted extra caramel in my drink. That's a question I'll never say "no" to. I found it very unique and nice that she asked me. No other Starbucks barista has ever done that in the past for me. The glare is a bit annoying without shades to adjust this when working on a laptop. The outlets are scarce or hidden in the corner in the handicapped section. Service is friendly, but lines get backed up. So, you might want to get some work done or try somewhere else if you want a place to chill for awhile.
