Every year when I visit Nordstrom for their Anniversary sale, I get a coupon to come to the Espresso Bar and I always treat myself. Service was very friendly as usual. It's a cute little place tucked in a corner with plenty of tables in the mall if you need a break. This year we tried: $6.40 Pomegranate iced tea $6.35 Sweet foam cold brew $9.15 Super green smoothie Both the ice tea and smoothie were super sweet -- too much for my liking. I think the smoothie is a little overpriced. I would ask if I can customize the sweetness next time. The coffee was nice and strong. Orders came out super quickly. Not a whole lot of baked goods left at 2pm on a Saturday. read more

Words cannot express the lack of compassion that this place carries for someone who visits every week. I was there to get coffee and forgot to tell them to add a certain milk. The worker had an attitude and said it would be $1.00 extra for a different milk but it's never shown on the menu that it's extra what happened to courtesy. Then they rang it up on the register and delete it like they made a change. Very disappointing. read more

The staff are very wonderful and kind. There is this one particular employee, Anton, who said he thought I was cute and flirted with me, which made me uncomfortable. I am also aware that he had followed this girl to a different store to ask for her phone number. Really gross and creepy behavior. I won't be back. I come here often and thought I should write a review - I always order a double espresso. That's it. It should come out strong, hot, and not overdrawn. The servers here know how to make it right. Once in a while it is NOT right, and I tell them and they repeat it and make it right. Very happy with their quality of coffee and their service. The only drawback is that my kids used to love their "pink cookie" - this huge cookie with pink icing. Man, those were gooooood! The no longer carry them. That's ok, my kids get ice cream at the food court now. The espresso? Still great. read more

It was a trip down memory lane yesterday when we decided to have an espresso drink here after lunch while at Hillsdale shopping center. Until yesterday my access to a Nordstrom Espresso Bar was gone after Nordstrom at Stonestown closed down. I always enjoyed having a latte so I had a chance yesterday. Entrance & exit to the bar adjacent to Nordstrom was narrow as they attempted to create a protected one way in and one way out due to COVID. I placed my order for a soy latte. However the storefront is very small. It was hard to maintain six feet of social distancing in tight quarters. I decided to step into the mall area to wait. Fortunately the one customer ahead of me got his order and I stepped back inside. My order was next. Got it and made a beeline to a table by the entrance to Nordstrom. My soy latte was hot in temperature and had the right amount of foam. My afternoon coffee was reminiscent of all the afternoons at the Nordstrom in Stonestown now a memory. read more

Whenever I stop by at this mall, I always pay a visit to Nordstrom espresso bar. Their service here is always on point, nice staff, excellent cappuccino, and the lines always moves fast. There are plenty of seat right outside Nordstrom entrance so you can enjoy your favorite beverage and have time to relax. I've even made purchases here in the past with some of their gift bags including their cool designed thermos. Sometimes, they'll even have specials on them. I've been here about a dozen times now. The main thing I like about it is the location. Very convenient as I am walking by. A lot of times Starbucks has a super long line and my lunch time (I work nearby) is limited so I stop by here instead, much faster. I usually get iced Americanos and the quality is high. I wouldn't say the staff are coffee snobs or coffee experts, (or maybe they are and I just don't know it) but they consistently make excellent iced Americanos and they're fast and friendly so I really appreciate them. I always try to tip because they are so good and I'm sure it's not an easy job. Thank you staff you are appreciated. read more

I love E bars Honey Almond Latte. A drink that they don't have at Starbucks, Peet's or any of the other major chain coffee shops. It has a delicious lingering taste of almond that doesn't overwhelm the taste of the coffee. It's like killing two birds with one stone...retail therapy and my daily dose of caffeine! Oh yes, this place is such a hidden gem. It's tucked away by the front of the Nordstrom mall entrance and literally is an extension of the awesome Nordstrom service you've grown to expect. I love hitting this place up early in the morning and snagging the spinach and mushroom croissant before anyone else can get their hands on it. My favorite drinks is their sparkling Pom lemonade which I can't find anywhere else. It's a fantastic refreshing drink that makes me believe I'm drinking something healthy while getting my soda feeling. Their espresso drinks are also top notch but they tend to take a little while getting it out to you 'cause they're not equipped like your typical Starbucks or Peets when it comes to espresso machines. I suggest ordering a cookie or animal crackers if you're going to order an espresso drink and there's a long time. If you're especially hungry, I'd like to suggest the chicken salad croissant. But the smiles on the faces of the baristas and the pick me up you're going to feel when sipping on your coffee is worth every minute of the wait. read more

Co worker went to the Apple store to pickup a keyboard so I decided to pre-emptively hit the caffeine in case lunch coma set in. I really hate to write this review since I am a big fan of nordstroms. Also, this is not based on the coffee or service. Only the baked goods So yesterday I was in a rush so I came in for a quick snack. I ordered the chocolate chip banana bread to go. The service was very good. The barista was very warm and lively. Five stars on the service. But the chocolate banana break had this sour, salty taste in the middle that was absolutely revolting. So I ended up throwing it in the trash. I was very disappointed with the café's quality control. The bread was clearly either expired or from a bad batch. read more

Nice place to grab a drink or a snack while you're shopping or on a lunch break while working at the mall. There's plenty of chairs and tables. Staff here are friendly and quick with getting your order out to you. The only con to this place is that their prices are ridiculously over priced, even when compared to Starbucks. Although I LOVE their Swiss Basil Chicken sandwich, at $8 a pop (considering the portion), I can't afford to come here for lunch every day. My favorite coffee place in the San Mateo area and it's practically hidden! My co-workers poke fun that I drive to the mall for coffee frequently, but they have great, cheap, strong cold brew and really tasty iced lattes. Try a triple shot grande if you are tired of gross, sugary sweet Starbucks. Recently they added almond milk, unadvertised, making them extra awesome! I work in the mall and always gets their ice mocha coffee and its always good except for today a woman that has really curly hair SUCKS at making drinks probably in general because there is no taste at all to my ice mocha coffee. My appreciation for coffee and espresso and the flavors really have changed a lot since having my son....or shall I say, going 9 months caffeine free! Goodness that was hard, but more than worth it! Anyway, after having coffee at Nordstrom Espresso Bar again several times I would have to say that their coffee isn't as great as I once thought it was. I think on a scale of 1-10 on average over the several times I've had it lately, I'd give them a solid, 5. Their coffee is good, but not great. It really seems like they pull their shots too long because the shots come out so watery. I also don't like that their 16oz which is like a grande which most all places is a double but at Nordstrom it only has one shot so you have to add another which is dumb. Went there with my nephew who's 4..They were so great!!...Gave us a tiny cup of milk for nothing because we spilt ours and they even were smiling as they gave us the cup...We had a cookie and I had a Chia Almond Latte which they also added water too after I said it was too sweet...with a smile..they didn't make me feel like I was a pain in the neck,, for this I am grateful...Good job and nice work... read more
