    10-19-24. The Black Tie

This Peet's Coffee is located right in the middle of the Pruneyard Mall. Lots of outdoor tables with umbrellas to sit at and enjoy the weather when it is nice outside. The Black Tie: Layered sweetened condensed milk, Cold Brew iced coffee, chicory infused simple syrup, and a float of half and half. The service was super friendly and courteous.

I ordered flat white before 9am, it come out about 10am. More than an hour wait!! The person get impatient when I check after 30min!! It tastes not good... not worth the 1 hour wait

It was a hot hot day and we had time to kill at the Pruneyard. That brought up to this Peets. We were very thankful for the cold AC. This is a cool building and distinctive since it is a standalone building and a modern one which is in stark contrast to the older Pruneyard architecture.

I absolutely love their iced chai latte! Great customer service and ambiance (good space to get work done inside or large outdoor area with tables and umbrellas) also around other shops/restaurants so nice place to walk around after you get your work done.

Stopped by Peet's for a much needed pick-me-up and decided to go for an extra hot soy vanilla cappuccino. Traffic at the establishment wasn't too bad and service moved along pretty quickly. Baristas were busy hustling away and before I knew it, my drink was ready to go. 4 stars overall but this particular Peet's could have easily been 5. The notable letdowns was my extra hot not being extra hot @ all & my cappuccino being overly sweet for my tastebuds. I wouldn't mind coming back if I were in the area...

Barely 3/4 of the way full. This is BEFORE I even took a sip out of it.

There is a serious lack of quality control at this particular Peet's Coffee location. I have placed pickup orders here two times now. Both times I requested sugar free vanilla syrup to be added to my Latte and both times they have put full sugar syrup in it. Also, if you tend to order a large coffee be prepared to pay for a cup that is barely 3/4 of the way full. So basically you will get a medium drink in a large cup and at the price of a large drink. I personally order the sugar free vanilla because I don't like overly sweet things. However, I am sure there are plenty of people out there that order their drinks with sugar free syrup in it due to either diabetes or other dietary restrictions. So their complete disregard for someone's request is pretty annoying. At the very least I can still drink it when they do this although I don't love it. But if this happened to someone with dietary restrictions they would have completely wasted their money and would have to toss their drink. I am not a huge fan of Starbucks but at least they get my orders right so I guess I will go back to them.

Pros: spacious indoor, a little cozy corridor with 2-3 tables is a nice seating area Cons: while the store is surrounded by window walls, they are all dusty and you can see all dirt and spots

It is the perfect amount of sweetness and the barista's are very consistent in making the drink. The inside is small but cozy, refreshing to be in after all the new coffee shops are super modern. They have three bigger tables that you can work at, as well as a skinny long table in the back. I love to come here to get my work done with some good coffee, as I will never be disappointed in finding a seat or having a bad experience. They also have good food, I have tried their salmon and avocado toast. Both are good and filling. They also have yummy pastries that usually sell out in the morning. When my turn came up the barista was short tempered with me for not knowing what sizes the drink came in promptly when those options weren't displayed anywhere on the menu or table (note: what's shown on their menu is price for 8 oz hot and 16 oz iced, but not what the sizes are for hot). Then as she was making the drink, she had mine sitting at the counter for a good few minutes without calling my name because she was busy chatting it up with a customer, handing him a note, talking about travel plans, etc. When I asked where my drink was and that I had been waiting for a while the other barista proceeded to say that they've just been busy. No, barista making my drink was just not serving each customer kindly and equally. I've come here for years and have had good experiences, but based on my last visit, I'd come back for the quality coffee but not with a high expectation for the service and if I had a lot of time between grabbing coffee and the next thing - I was here for over 20 mins before I got my drink

The service is incredibly quick, the vibe is super work-friendly, and they even have a fully functioning, in-house coffee roaster right on display. I ended up trying two different things. First was the Ube Latte. The ube flavor was incredibly forward and robust, practically overpowering the coffee itself, which I actually didn't mind. The absolute standout of the whole experience, though, was the coffee flight. The flight consisted of Milk Iced Coffee, which was incredibly strong, bold, and absolutely delicious; Crema Black Coffee, where the espresso was topped with a thick cheese cream layer. That was actually my least favorite of the group, but it was still good. The foam was a little salty, and the underlying espresso was incredibly strong and nice. The others were just so spectacular that they outshone it. The egg Coffee was incredibly custardy, rich, and creamy. It felt like drinking a delicious cold brew with a decadent, velvety custard foam. The durian Coffee absolutely blew my mind. The durian usually gets a bad reputation, so I was a little nervous to try it, but it was amazing. The durian cream paired perfectly with the coffee and didn't overpower the espresso flavor at all. Next time, I'd probably skip the standalone Ube Latte and just dive straight into the flight experience. Highly recommend checking this spot out if you want high-quality, flavorful specialty coffee.

I ordered two drinks, a burrito and a jalapeño bagel. There was 1 person in front of me in line. Waited 20 minutes for my order to be ready. The order was all correct except they gave me an everything bagel instead. Maybe this is my bad for phrasing it this way but I said " I meant to order a jalapeño bagel ". I should have said "this is wrong, I ordered a different bagel." Regardless the woman on the food station looked at me and argumentatively said "well I'll have to talk to my manager about that".... Like okay sure? She proceeds to have (what felt like a 5 min) whisper convo with her manager and when I went over to where they were, they stopped talking. She walked me back over to the register and said "you'll have to order a new bagel and then we'll have to refund you the old one" as if it was a huge ordeal. I complete that with who I assume is the manager who didn't say much to me and then the initial woman puts the bagel on the counter without even looking at me. I said "thank you!" And was completely ignored. 2 things. 1, I worked as a barista in multiple locations including Starbucks. We were always trained to be on the lookout if someone is unsatisfied or an order was wrong. We were trained to remake it and make that situation right. Definitely not make the customer feel like they bothered you in some way. 2, an "I'm so sorry about that!" Or "Thank you for your patience" or "thanks, have a wonderful day!" Goes a long way!! I'd understand if it was crazy busy. Honestly I get it, pleasantries take a back seat when in a rush. However, there was only 1 person in front of me and no one behind. Can't say how the food or drinks are cus I've been too busy writing this down to try it! The 2 stars are for a clean cafe and the folks making the drinks WERE kind. Let's do better Philz.

The space has a modern yet warm feel with beautiful natural wood finishes, fresh loaves of sourdough lining the shelves, pastries displayed in the case, and a mix of large communal wood tables, regular seating, and high-top tables. It's the kind of café that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. The staff was friendly and helped us choose both a pastry and our toast. They were also happy to customize our order--we asked for the levain sourdough toast with butter instead of the usual olive oil. That toast was absolutely divine. The sourdough had the perfect balance: chewy without being too sour, with a crust that was crisp but not so hard that it fought back. Easily the best sourdough toast I've had in the Bay Area. If you come here, this is the one thing you have to order. The only disappointment was the butter. They serve French butter, but for an extra $2, the portion was tiny and honestly nothing special. I've had better butter from Whole Foods. It didn't take away from how incredible the bread was, but it wasn't worth the upcharge. Their Kouign-amann is also one of the best I've ever had. Instead of the typical flat, flaky style, theirs is taller with countless buttery layers that create an amazing texture. The cappuccino was another highlight. It had subtle notes of orange peel, whiskey, and cardamom, making it unique. The latte art was beautiful too. Overall, Manresa Bread is one of those cafés that makes you want to sit down with a laptop or a book and spend a few hours there. The only downside is there are no power outlets, so come with a full battery if you're planning to work. Must orders: Levain sourdough toast with butter and the Kouign-amann.
