They individually wrap these so grab what you want and place it on your tray. Once you're finished, cruise up to the counter. Would I Come Back? Yes, I keep coming back. I use to come back for the Choco Bun, but if they've changed the recipe at all locations, I'll only be coming back for the Milk Bun and Nougat. Their Signature Item: Egg tarts are their signature item. If you've ever been to an Asian party, someone almost always brings a box of egg tarts from 85-Degrees. But on today's visit. Well, just look at the photo. Someone stepped away from the oven for about 6 minutes too long. Choco Bun ($2.55, Grade D): The Choco Bun has been my absolute go-to for years--the closest location to me is usually the South Sacramento store and I tell everyone they have to get it whenever they visit an 85°C. Unfortunately, it's been about 8 months since my last trip, and the Choco Bun is no longer something to write home about. Milk Bun ($2.05, Grade A+): If you've ever had their Milk Bun with the custard filling, the Choco Bun used to be very similar in texture. Now, it's flat with super dry edges. Not good at all. Luckily, I also bought a Milk Bun (my usual second favorite), and by default, it's now my number one because the Choco Bun was a complete bust. It's so fluffy and sweet. Melts in your mouth. Strawberry Banana Smoothie / no boba ($5.85, Grade F): It was incredibly artificial-tasting--nothing real about it. I only made it through a quarter of it before throwing the rest into the garbage. My fault for hoping for a "just picked" fresh fruit taste, but this was honestly one of the worst smoothies I've ever had. Nougat ($9.60, Grade A+): The bagged Nougat candy is fantastic. It's soft, gooey, and packed with what I'm guessing are pieces of pistachio. Delicious, but a fair warning if you have dental issues: these will wreak havoc on your teeth. It's not quite as sticky as a Starburst, but it could definitely pull out a denture! Bottom Line: The staff here is friendly, and there are still a few standout 5-star items that make a visit worth it (the Milk Bun and the Nougat). However, the disappointing recipe change to the Choco Bun and the absolute miss on the smoothie knock this down to a 3-star experience overall.

I was already so full, but I could not stop drinking it. Uji Time may seem a little pricey at first, but honestly, nothing disappointed and it was worth every penny. I visited this Peet's 3 times in December 2017 and January 2018, and the wi-fi never worked at all. I spent hours trying everything on multiple devices to see if it could work. I don't require too much from a coffeehouse, but wifi is critical. Other patrons confirmed that it hadn't worked since shortly after opening. The management was not interested in getting it fixed, and told me if I need wi-fi, this location was not for me. This was such an incredibly frustrating experience that I've stopped going to Peet's other locations, where I've been going for 12 years, and I'm getting my Mocha Sanani from other sources now. This is such a shame. I tried posting a question on this Yelp page asking whether anyone knows if their wi-fi has been fixed, in which case I'll try them again, but Yelp said that they don't allow that sort of question here. (I tried again.) So I guess just don't go here if you plan to use wi-fi. read more

Two employees against California law refused to serve me water, then called the police, 3 units responded. Then the store manager refused to give me water his name was Elijah El Hayek saying that it was not california State law, refused to give me the names of the employees and asked me to leave for asking for water. Which is following California state LAW. Corporate and city food services informed, and a lawyer is being sought. What a waste of valuable police time. Since I'm unfamiliar with the area, I tried again another day and ended up driving around lost and was about 30 minutes late to work because I couldn't get accurate directions to the store. I really enjoy Coffee Bean, and I would have stopped here several more times during my stay. It may only represent a few cups of coffee from me, but inaccurate directions could also be costing this location other customers who simply give up trying to find it. Hopefully management can get the map/navigation listing corrected soon. It would make a big difference for customers who aren't familiar with the area.

Ordering is just through the kiosk now, which isn't a bad thing. The part that was really rough was the reason why I even came here; the boba. I got a regular milk tea which now they only have a single size. I miss the extra large size they used to have, but oh well. The next issue comes with how much the boba actually costs. They may have gotten rid of the extra large cup sizes, but they're still charging the almost the same amount for it in a much smaller cup. What a deal, right? And we get to the actual drink. When the person making the drink after receiving your order finishes within a minute of making it, it's never a good sign. Why is that? Well, they had premade jug of milk tea ready to pour out for your tasting pleasure. When you have a premade jug of milk tea, it's never a good sign. While I've had them at other places that have done this before, and it's ranged from bad to mediocre, the one here at Milk Tea Lab, now, was in a word, rancid. It was incredibly gross with absolutely no redeeming qualities to it. I generally try not to be so harsh, but this was really not it and I couldn't even finish the boba because of how bad the milk tea was. It's sad to see how big of a dropoff this spot has become compared to what it used to be. This isn't like when they first opened where there were only 2-3 boba spots right next to them. Now there's at least a handful of options within a few minutes away, and dozens of spots within a mile or two, and this is what they're pushing out? It's a shame but this Milk Tea Lab which was their starter store is no longer a place I would ever go back to for boba. It's time is now past with this new ownership.

Very disappointed. I must've been fourth in line after a family, and three other customers were served before me. If you have dairy sensitivity, DO NOT come here. I do not recommend it. Probably not coming back here again.
