Next time if you're out of iced coffee just say so. Don't take the regular drip, add ice and try to pass it off as the same. I get it, things run out. Peets used to be a destination coffee spot, but now they struggle to compare to Starbucks. As an aside, I worked for Peets and know the previous standards as compared to now. My boyfriend and I both order Americano based drinks pretty religiously, and lately we've experienced about a 50/50 ratio of good and horrible beverages, leaning towards bad. There is a notable discrepancy in talent, skill, and attention amongst the staff. It's never fun to drive all that way on the chance that a competent barista is on staff. A triple Americano should never be translucent, or take only 10 seconds to pull. It also should not taste like burned rubber dissolved in water. If you ask for sweetener, the dregs of the bottle are fine so long as you actually check that they equate to a decent amount. These are simple measures, but they're getting lost on a certain amount of the staff. I work hard for my money Peets, and I'd like to know I'm getting a decent product for the price. This is one of the few times where I can say that a Corp location is worse than a franchise! The baristas always seem lost. It's because of this, I'm assuming, that it takes about 10 or more minutes to place an order with only 5 people in line. You'll have 3-4 people trying to make drinks and no one at the register. I visited Peets for a couple hours while studying. The guy running the register was really nice but that was the only asset to the experience. My complaints: The bathroom was the nastiest Ive seen at a coffee shop (Ill spare you the details). The chai tea latte tasted like water (even after I asked them to fix it, the told me that everyone else makes it wrong and that this is the correct way to make it. Also, internet is only available for an hour, then you have to make another purchase (of watered-down tea I suppose.) Needless to say, I will not be back. read more

As soon as I walked in, I did not expect for this coffee shop to be so full! I went in before my class which was around 8:00 on a Saturday. I got the Iced Vanilla Latte with Soy Milk and it was amazing! Totally reminds me of when I first tried it when I was at San Francisco! Loved it! read more

I don't leave reviews often, but I feel like it's time for one. I've been coming here for almost 2 years, 4 days a week and most of the time, I get the same thing: small cold brew. 5 stars is simply not enough. Every time, I come, I come here around 6:30 in the morning and everyone is still great with me. There's no fake, "costumer service" attitude, which is refreshing to see. The staff is amazing and the coffee is good enough to get me through my morning shift at work. I love this place. read more

Ok, so I have to admit...I'm overly obsessed with Peet's. I love their coffees! But this Peet's is my neighborhood Peet's and I love that we can just walk here with our pup. There's a great little outdoor seating area Peet's shares with Noah's Bagels (mmm.. bagels). I love the people who work at this Peet's, the people who come to this Peet's (they're all just so friendly), and the location. My favorite Peets! The mochas are divine, dark chocolate and slightly bitter instead of sweet. The location is cozy and it's surrounded by a garden courtyard of the now departed Wild Oats Market. A great place to grab a coffee and relax in the afternoon sun. read more

Peet's is a coffee shop with decent food and great staff. Non Coffee selection is limited, but everything else works really well, with Einstein's Bagels right next door, 90 minutes of free parking, and a clean restroom. With Starbucks literally across the street, Peet's holds its own with knowledgeable staff, a superior soundtrack, and better stores (CVS and Einstein's) around it. read more

I discovered the joys of good, strong Peet's coffee in the original store in North Berkeley. And though it took awhile to get them down here, when they opened the store on Lake & California, I just about passed out. I limped by on the occasional Starbucks and, every once in awhile, I'd get to CB&T, for too long. Yes the parking is a hassle, but patience is the key. For chain coffee stores, you have the usual suspects in southern California - Starbucks, Coffee Bean, and Peet's Coffee. I'm not one of those people that is dependent on coffee every morning or wait 10 minutes at the Starbuck's drive through for my frapuccino or latte. But, when I need coffee and I am in LA, I try to find a Peet's. That stuff is literaly crack (which is a good thing in coffee terms for me). The coffee tastes better than 4-Bucks or Coffee Bean. The prices at Peet's are about the same or may be a slight less than it's competitors. I usually get a cafe mocha, and it is consistently better than 4-Bucks or Coffee Bean. Peets is such a fun place to meet up with someone.... I love how it's part of our vocabulary now... "let's grab a Peets".........I love the coffee- my favorite is the "large iced decaf non fat sugar free latte"... for Dawn please....... The tea selections are great also! I think my favorite part about this place are the fun PEOPLE that work there.... they get to know you and start knowing what you like... and over time perhaps you can be the "person of the week"... that's free coffee for you for a week! I hated my pic up but enjoyed the free "jo" that week........ love the outdoor seating and that's near my other fav- Noah's..... my ONLY gripe is the horrible parking however since I'm close I usually go by foot or ride my bike..... Great coffee. The only reason for four stars is that the parking lot is usually crowded and it's hard to find a spot.

I am actually drinking their coffee while I am writing this review. You should avoid the place during normal hours. They have a parking attendant because they have a parking problem during the day. That said, I think their coffee (which is slightly more expensive than the Coffee Bean) is ok, but I was kind of annoyed that the guy that made the coffee didn't put a lid on it. Other than that, the layout of the place is awkward. You walk past the guy making your coffee in line and then your order. You then have to walk back to get your coffee. Lastly, other coffee houses have nicer decor. read more

I like a little coffee with my milk and sugar, so I'm a big fan of how strong and bitter their coffee is. Even their chai tasted strong and bitter! I like the interior and the location of this Peet's, but when there's a Starbucks across the street and a Coffee Bean a block away, I'm not going to choose Peet's. So if you dig the strong earthy taste of coffee and tea, then maybe this is your place. -Laid back and comfortable on the inside, somewhat scenic on the outside (benches and a grassy area). so this peet's is not exactly on the way to work but i will now make an effort to stop by on mornings where i have the time because the service here is by far the best thing ever. so i stopped by today to get a decaf iced coffee (hello this rules! i can't have caffeine and most places will not carry a iced decaf option and i'll have to drink an americano). secondly, i had to wait like 5 minutes before i realized my drink wasn't placed in the line...no big deal because the super helpful barista got it right away for me and even offered a free drink card. i didn't even expect that little extra measure. read more

I love Peet's. Boo for the funky parking lot. Meeeeheh? for the sometimes inconsistent (but nice!) Peetniks there. I guess theres a bit of a turnover rate. They make a damn good goddamed foam. I like to get nonfat anything (just lattes or caps, actually) cause the milk sugars come out when you steam the milk, thusly making for a slightly sweeter tasting drink, sans sugar. One of the things I learned from being beaten with a stick to learn everything when I worked at the one in Hastings Ranch. I also enjoy the espresso macchiatos in gulped down form. This was my first time at Peet's Coffee! The coffee here is great; I was pleasantly surprised. I had an older gift card and I finally had a chance to use it. Unfortunately, the value on the card had depreciated. The manager here was kind enough to at least give me a large cup of coffee. My boyfriend and I went to this coffee place last night. It was so delicious and the customer service was amazing. David was the one that made our coffees and he did such an amazing job! He told us information about how the coffee is made and how he was able to do the latte art! He did such a good job! He went above and beyond with making sure we were happy. When we told him we wanted a picture of the latte art he wanted to make sure our picture was perfect so he made it twice to make sure it was good enough. We will definitely be back! I love Peet's. I mean, really love their coffee. But this location is so overcrowded that it takes at least 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee and rarely are there seats available. Interestingly, even when there aren't too many people, it can take at least 10 minutes to get a coffee. Unless I have about an hour to kill, I'd rather go over to Zephyr's where it takes less than 3 minutes for them to serve you freshly brewed coffee. read more
