First week open so I expect some flubs but it was the high quality I expect from the chain. Lots of people behind the counter, I expect that will die down after they are trained up. Great location, right across the street from the Saturday farmers market. Best coffee in the local area, the other places near by have gone down hill and/or switched to automatic machines. There is a SB one block away is that's your thing, but I prefer the stronger and better coffee prepared by Peet's. Seating is somewhat close, but manageable. There is handicapped seating but it could be difficult to get to without moving some chairs out of the way. read more

I visited this Peet's coffee location for the first time. The vibe of down town blended well for a smooth and relaxing environment. We sat on the patio outside. It was a warm summer evening and someone was even playing a guitar, very cool! I ordered a Carmel ice coffee and it tasted great. The staff that helped me was friendly and polite. This is by far my favorite Peet's location. Ambiance is perfect for getting work done or catching up with a friend. Location on Main St is nice. Service is always great. Food/drink is the same as any Peet's. The only flaw is the lack of parking, which is a typical complaint for anywhere in downtown Pleasanton. read more

This used to be my go to peets as I'm a peet loyalist. I now go to Dublin as I get better service and they actually answer their phone as I am particular with my coffee and want to confirm they are brewing it. Walked in today and made mention about the phone. Again, they don't listen and make excuses. Anne was the manager here and since she left, this location has gone down hill. Environment is not welcoming at all especially for peets loyalist like me. I gave it a two because it is peets coffee quality but service is not what it used to be. read more

I have consistently received very rude and unprofessional customer service from this LOCATION ONLY! I drink Peet's all over the Bay Area and this one is the worst. They mess up in drinks and don't take responsibility, they ground our beans to the wrong number and wouldn't correct it, and they simply lack a neighborhood coffee shop feel. Not sure how you can go wrong with Peet's. The coffee is always excellent, the staff is friendly and their snacks are always fresh. The line is usually short because the staff works very quickly, so I am never waiting long for my drink. They have lots of tables inside, as well as a nice patio area. They are right on the main street of downtown, so sitting outside during summer is always nice. read more

The floor layout is not very good for meeting clients for business coffee. Tullys was a much better remote conference room. Of course, they went out of business. This is one of the nicer Peet's locations in the Tri Valley. It's on Main Street in Pleasanton so you can sit outside. It kind of has a European feel. The baristas make good coffee here. You can even ask them if they have other blends than the ones they have listed because they're open to that. At many other Peet's you're stuck with whatever they have at that moment. Most of the baristas are friendly, knowledgeable, customer service oriented, and eager to please. I want to emphasise the word most. There is one barista who I would say is a little too eager to get to closing the cafe early when there are still customers in the dining area. This cafe used to have a 5 star rating, until I showed up on a Sunday and saw a dark storefront. The hours had also been shortened for Friday and Saturday as well. I was puzzled because every other business was open but this one. I don't know what went into Peet's cutting it's hours, but it's not a good sign. Three stars. read more

I went to Pete's downtown Pleasanton at 11:30 on November 18. There was only a couple people sitting outside. I ordered a small fat free sugar free vanilla latte and bought two boxes of tea. I took them outside to sit down with my granddaughter to drink and it was awful. That wasn't the issue. Stuff happens like that all the time no big deal. But when I took it back in and told them it tasted awful they offered to make me another I said no thank you. By that time my taste buds were off a latte. That was it, no offer of here's a card for a free drink at another time no can we refund your money, no I am really sorry about that. Very disappointed don't plan on going back there. read more

Just had the worst Peet's Experience in my life. Ordered 1/2 reg and 1/3 reg dec and a ginger bread. The girl was a new employee. Another girl was helping her at the register. Waited forever. No thank you. No your order is coming up. I waited and waited. Finally, I asked where's my order? Another girl , came to the counter and said the girl was new. She wasn't there at the beginning of my transaction. She didn't witnessed the whole transaction. She patronized me by saying have a good day. Didn't apologized for bad service. Arguably the greatest Peet's coffee in Gods green earth. Which may make it top ten on planet. Have been here nearly 200x past four years and usually am crowds averse. with this location location location there inevitably are crowds however the staff here has not acted or served me as if their busy. Great service excellent coffee always on point with the oatmeal and other snacks. Keep it groovin y'all. read more

Last Thursday I arrived at Peet's to find a note on the door stating the espresso machine was down and free regular coffees were available. When I walked inside one of the staff gently explained the situation, restated the free coffee offer, and mentioned they could heat a breakfast item if I was interested. What a great way to handle this situation with up-front notice and someone to calm the concerns of the pre-caffeinated. A repairman was working on the problem and a little less than an hour later the espresso machine was steaming again. Very well done, Peet's, in managing this issue pro-actively, and especially your Customer's expectations that morning. read more

When Peets took over Tully's I was disappointed, but I like Pete's coffee so I thought I would go with it. Unfortunately, they didn't do such a great job inside. The track lights are shining right in your eyes blinding you. The artwork on the walls is pretty commercial, and the chairs and tables are prosaic and uncomfortable. It would be nice if there were at least a couple of comfortable chairs or a leather recliner or something, And some low tables to sit around. Seems like a college study hall. Not the best place to hang out. The patio is OK but same thing with the chairs very uncomfortable. If Pete's put just a little bit of effort into making the environment better, it could be definitely four or five stars. read more

It seemed okay at first, but then it turned into the Twilight Zone. My wife and I were checking out Peet's coffee shops in Livermore, and Pleasanton, because we had gone to the one in Dublin and thought we would check out more Peet's Coffee & Teas in the area just for the fun of it, and we went to the one on Main Street in Pleasanton for a drink for me and maybe a muffin for my wife, because the other stores were out of the muffins she likes. It seemed a little too quiet and odd at first, but I thought oh well maybe it's because it's new and different. I bought a drink from a taller, younger black haired guy named Daniel, but all they had left was one pop tart looking pastry and I mean nothing but the one item in the case, period, but my wife and I started looking at a few gift items when this weird guy much older, shorter, and Middle Eastern looking comes up and asks us if we need any help with anything, I made small talk and figured he would just go away when he suddenly told us we owed him money. I was stunned, because I had just given the cashier a ten dollar bill to add to my Peet's card before I bought the drink, but the shorter Middle Eastern guy kept insisting we owed him money. The cashier said he had a problem with the cash register and a gal who had been helping him when we first arrived had just disappear into nowhere and the weird guy had taken her place. It ended up that they had short changed us by $3.41 and now they wanted us to pay an extra $3.41. Like I said, Twilight Zone. read more

Love the new location. Tables are nice, chairs comfy, music a little too loud but I can live with it. Almost fell after tripping on someone's "emotional support" dog, as did several other people. Also had another person with a dog inside the shop that was not an "emotional support" dog. I didn't know non-assistance animals were permitted in places that serve food. read more

I am huge fan of Peets coffee goes without saying. But that is not what my review is about today. My review is about the staff at this particular location. I saw compassion and kindness displayed by the staff today. I won't point out who he was because I would be afraid to get him into trouble. An older gentleman came into the store while my daughter and I were having coffee. My daughter opened the door for him and he obviously had severe rheumatoid arthritis in his hands. He came in and you can tell that life is not all that easy for him. He waited his turn and he had an EBT card in his hand apparently to pay for his coffee with. He ordered nothing fancy just black coffee brewed. Barista behind the counter displayed genuine warmth and kindness towards this customer. The older gentleman tried to hand barista his EBT card and the barista refused. Again the older gentleman try to push the card towards him seeming to have a hard time speaking, and again the barista refused and said that the coffee was on him. I was so warm buy this and so impressed with the staff at this location. Showing a little humanity and respect to this senior citizen speaks volumes about the character of the person behind the counter. The world needs more people like him in it. read more
