We had been meaning to try Peet's for some time now, and stopped by while we were in the area. The vibe here is a bit more serious than say a Starbucks or Coffee Bean, but there were a lot of interesting items on the menu. The barista seemed annoyed and had a judgmental tone while we ordered a cold brew oat latte and a coconut black tie. The drinks were underwhelming, as if the cold brew was under concentrated, and the milk didn't complement the flavor. Will not be back. read more

I used to drink 4 times a day single espresso last 3 years. But recently they stopped serving coffee from real espresso machines because they are cheaper and make the coffee like vending machine in hospitals. Testing bad espresso beans. And not sure if they care about quality anymore. sorry but I'm really know about coffee. You guys need to go back to professional coffee machines not vendors coffee machines. First time and possibly last time going to this location. I was passing through town and felt the need to get an espresso boost. Upon ordering (2:29 PM 8-15-25 ) and making my first impressions, I didn't think it was anything special compared to other Peet's coffee locations. There were actually several Things I disliked after I got my drink like how it was very crowded in the middle of the afternoon and no electrical outlets were available as customers had their laptop work stations sprawled out completely occupying any area that was a charging cord distance away from the limited (2 total?) outlets. I ordered a "dirty" Chai which means extra espresso, yet the barista just made a regular chai latte and did not ask about how many shots I wanted added. I realized this after I got my less than desired caffeinated drink, for usually I would put extra espresso shots to make it a "dirty chai" yet I guess both I and the barista forgot to determine the amount of "dirtiness" or added espresso by the time I was done verbalizing "dirty chai", submitting the tip, and contactless payment process the transaction was completed , usually before the end of this process the barista will ask how much espresso shots to add into the stated "dirty" chai latte, yet they didn't! You would think they would naturally offer espresso shots to any customer in effort to increase their sales and boost customer satisfaction for the beloved special espresso beans that Peets coffee offers. I was very annoyed when I was sitting down right beside the glass door holding my ground inside the busy restaurant while respecting other customers' space , and then one of the two female baristas came up to the door and started spraying the glass door with chemicals that over sprayed off the glass into my air and counter space where my food and drink was! I quickly covered my food, gave her a rather dirty look, and before verbalizing my dissatisfaction I recalled how I have already had a long day working and it's my time for relaxation- the last thing I want to do is inform a poor worker of how they are getting too close to me with their cleaning chemicals- yet I would think this is obvious and if they don't get it then this should be addressed! Since it's not- you're going to hear about it in follow up on here! The person who took my order was named "Sindhu" and it likely was her or her co worker for that shift who is in violation. This should be obvious to wait until the area is cleared of customers before you start cleaning and it's really not that urgent, so I'm going to say that they were really rude by doing continuing to clean without any spatial awareness! I do not accept this passive aggressive rude service behavior and if they were not intentionally being rude, then that employee needs to be reprimanded so they can learn what normal customer service is and how to actually clean in a restaurant. Had they actually directly sprayed me, we would be settling the assault charge in court! These make it look like an accident incidents are equally as serious, for I'm not joking! First lesson is Don't clean the space that the customer is sitting down at, for starters! Sort of obvious! Edit: One strange thing I noticed while sitting near the door was one customer literally walked inside and looked at the staff who was working, and then they instantly exited and walked across the street to the Starbucks. This leads me to think that I'm not the only person who now has dissatisfaction with their employees. read more

I prefer Peet's coffee over Starbucks any day. They are both chain coffee shops but I think Peets adds a little more personal touch to their establishments. The coffee here does taste a little bit better than Starbucks. Also the service here is better. The baristas here are very friendly and attentive. They have no problem making any customization to the coffee which was very nice of them. Sometimes my coffee selection can get a little bit hectic. Sometimes I get a little hesitation when ordering the same thing at Starbucks. I also like that they are from California. I came here with a friend and we got the jelly with it matcha and the turmeric golden latte. We felt quite adventurous today so we ordered out of the ordinary. I really liked my jelly with it matcha. Stopped here for some coffee and a breakfast sandwich. I got the bacon and cheddar brioche sandwich. It was very good! The bun was crunchy, he bacon was flavorful and the egg and cheese were hot and cheese nicely melted. I also ordered a latte but with coconut milk. I let the cashier know when I came up I knew the sandwich I wanted but wasn't sure about my drink. She said, "I'll pop your sandwich in while you decide." WHAT GREAT, FAST service!! My latte looked and tasted amazing. I don't get lattes too much, so I really want it to look nice. And it did! The barista called me by name when I walked over and let me know my drink would be ready shortly. "Hi Audra, it'll be out soon." My journey to San Diego took me through the 56 freeway. I was in need of coffee, and looked up this Peet's location on my GPS. Fortunately, I was less than five minutes away, so I pulled into the large shopping plaza in which this place sits. Parking was easy to find, and the coffee shop was not too busy at the time. I put in my order: Havana Cappuccino. While I know that iced cappuccinos are a no-no (look up the possible bacteria problem that can make you sick), this is my sole negative vice, so what the heck! They have one restroom here, and I was glad that it was actually not out-of-order at the time. The restroom was clean, as was the rest of the coffee shop. I grabbed my coffee on my way out, and I found it to be well-made. They put the right amount of condensed milk, not too sweet nor too bland. This coffee shop is located in a decent area, and the patrons here are cool locals. The workers here are friendly and efficient. Five stars. read more

I stopped in Peet's after lunch for an Americano, a mini currant scone, and to get some work done. The Americano was good, a little more bitter than I would of liked, but it was still drinkable and strong. The mini currant scone was very good. It came with a mild vanilla icing which formed a nice crust, and the inside was slightly dense, but moist and with a good amount of tasty currants. The scone was the perfect size for a snack and to eat with the Americano. I'm not sure why the Americano was a little bitter. It was the first time I experience this from a Peet's chain. Anyways, service was good, but their WiFi was a little glitchy and slow. I would check in to that. read more

I know 5 stars is HUGE to give out in the Yelp community. But honestly, even though this is a chain coffee shop, it's a wonderful place to get coffee and the ppl there really DO remember your name and drink of preference when you go there. I mean, I'm sure your local Starbucks does that too. And I like my Starbucks by my office. But this Peet's is close to my house and their Iced Coffee is incredible. For those iced coffee lovers out there, Starbucks, as some of you might know, does NOT have decaf Iced Coffee. Starbucks won't pour their hot coffee over ice for some reason (which would suck b/c it would water it down). They only have regular caffeinated iced coffee. So if you want decaf IC, you can order a decaf iced Americano or something like that (and again, they probably just pour it over ice b/c that's what it tastes like). Anyhow, I bring that up b/c Peet's actually has a 'vat' of freshly brewed, already iced (if that even makes sense), Iced Coffee, decaf or regular (caffeinated). And the taste is so much better - bold, not bitter, and it tastes like what iced coffee should taste like. AND, as my sister who now loves this place too, points out, Peet's has simple syrup (melted sugar and water) as part of their condiment section...simple syrup works best in iced coffees... Tischa, who works there, is simply awesome!! Free Wi-Fi as well ( you have to ask for a wi-fi code so when you order your coffee, don't forget...). Not a fan of this location although it is easier to get to than others. Long wait times for sub-par drinks that are only a step above Starbucks at this point. Also there seems to be a more limited food menu at this location and cholula sauce is not available (they told me Peet's no longer has it but other locations do). I also ordered a little packet of mixed nuts but they were so bad, gas station quality and close to expiration date. Not at all worth $3.50. Less indoor seating than the average Starbucks, a lot of people standing around. Overall it should not take 20 minutes for a cold brew with nothing added to it read more

When your barista argues with you about a cappuccino being the same as a latte, it is never a good sign. This location has served the community around it for quite some time and has a very good customer base including myself but time and again I have faced disappointing customer service that points to significant lack of training. If your order a cappuccino you expect a cappuccino and not a latte. Sure, modern systems and loading pressure can make one do stuff that deviates from the norm. This should never be an excuse to consider the customer to be ignorant. In this case a barista with a significantly bloated ego tried something that would cause this outlet loss of business from quite a few regulars. I mean how ignorant should the barista be to argue that a cappuccino is same as a latte!!!! If this is anything to go by, I am sad to say that in an environment wherein taking on the competition every which way to succeed, Peets has thoroughly failed and it is a disservice to the folks in the background trying their best to come up with innovative recipes and sourcing excellent beans. I think it's a personal preference whether you like Peet's coffee or not. For me, it's not my cup of tea, or rather, coffee. Their coffees are all brewed it looks like with no espresso based drinks. So, they don't have lattes here. Their alternative version is a brew based coffee with milk, but it seems like their brews are quite strong and harsh on my palette and so Pete's is a pass for me. read more

This is a great location. Super friendly service, the line moves quickly, and they have never gotten my order wrong. For a little while during the pandemic, this was the only legit coffee place open. They just put a table out front and did their thing. I was super grateful to have a coffee place to stop at every day. Peet's coffee is definitely a notch above other chains. I enjoy their daily brew and they have an amazing selection of beans. This location is always super clean and I never really have any trouble finding parking. We get Peets coffee almost every day, today was one of the worst experiences yet. We ordered 4 large beverages, and asked for water with it, the lady at the register turned around to her coworker and asked, very abruptly, "do you have time for that?" I love coming to Peet's. One material difference that I've noticed between Starbucks (across the street in Albertsons) and Peet's is the quality of the coffee beans and espresso. I study for about 12 or more hours a day, which means I need efficiency, and I energy to be efficient. Peet's espressos give me a high energy boost within minutes of drinking, and that energy high lasts throughout the day (at least 8 hours). On the other hand, Starbucks' choices might be a bit more tastier, but the quality of their coffee beans/espresso in terms of its lasting effect does not match what Peet's offers. Also, Peet's small espressos include a double shot, while Starbucks does not. For this reason, I regularly choose Peet's (and for reasons included in my earlier review). As always, the staff are AMAZING. read more

This is one of our go to place in the morning on the way to work. We come here when we are feeling extra tired because their coffee is STRONG. It literally looks twice as black as Starbuck's. I always need to add a good dose of Half and Half to mellow it out. Nothing less than Half and Half will do for this coffee. Just the ticket to wake a person up in the morning. Be careful though. That coffee is so strong, it will poke holes in your stomach if you don't take it with food. It's kind of like medicine in that way. Morning medicine. Since I've been a regular here for what feels like a lifetime, I figured it was long overdue for me to write a Yelp review. If you're looking to try a new drink, go for the iced matcha latte. I'm not going to explain what it is (mostly because I'm not really sure what it is), but it's absolutely delicious and it has me hooked. For those of you with more of a sweet tooth, you can add peppermint or vanilla, but it tastes good on its own too. They have all the 'usual' coffee and tea drinks, plus seasonal drinks as well. The service here is absolutely fantastic. Honestly, it's the nicest group of people. If you want proof just look at the insane amount of regulars they have, I've actually made friends with other regulars just because we all come here so often. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and the location is great- right off the 56. Plenty of parking.
