I stopped by this Better Buzz location this morning and had a pretty interesting drive-thru experience. While placing my order, the employee taking it seemed to be having trouble understanding what I was ordering, even after I repeated it several times. Then, while the intercom was still on, I could suddenly hear employees arguing inside the store. The argument escalated quickly, with comments being made about someone being a "terrible manager" and other things that definitely shouldn't be heard by customers. From what I could tell, the employee taking my order actually quit while still on the intercom. I even managed to catch the end of the exchange on video. When I got to the window, another employee was incredibly sweet, apologized for the situation, and even comped my drink, which I appreciated. To be honest, I wasn't personally upset by the drama. I was exhausted while waiting in line, and the unexpected entertainment definitely woke me up. That said, it was pretty clear there are some issues behind the scenes at this location. Whoever is overseeing the store may want to take a closer look at management and employee relations because it seemed like things were falling apart in real time. The only real downside for customers was that the drive-thru moved much slower than usual because of everything going on. I genuinely enjoy Better Buzz and this experience won't stop me from coming back. The staff member who helped me at the window handled a difficult situation professionally and kindly. I never received my coffee and had already been waiting for 30 minutes. When I asked the person making the coffee if they knew where my order was, they responded in a condescending and rude tone, saying, "I can't right now, I'm busy." I understand that things can get busy, but customers should still be treated with basic courtesy and respect. Waiting 30 minutes for a coffee without any communication, followed by that kind of response, is not acceptable. Coffee was good, consistent. I don't usually go towards this end of town but had been wanting to try the Better Buzz here. I placed my order on-line and when I went to pick up they were out of the foam that went on top of my drink. Barista asked what I would like instead and again, said Barista's choice (just no ginger as I am allergic). She seemed surprised and said are you sure? I said yes, whatever you suggest. Cinnamon it was and let me tell you the caramel and cinnamon was a great combination! I also got a slice of their banana chocolate chip bread and it was very good. Plenty of seating on their outside patio with shade and a nice seating are indoors as well. Easy access to get on and off of the 56 freeway too if you are heading that way. read more

Don't bother ordering food, and god forbid, do not get into the drive-through before the posted time--even if it's only 2 minutes early and there are four cars in front of you. I have now had two terrible experiences with a male worker there. In the drive-through, after telling him I had a mobile order for 1 piece of toast, he said, "What time does it say it's ready?" I responded, "1:31." He then said, "What time is it now???" in the nastiest tone. I had to answer, "1:29??" I then proceeded to have to pull around into a parking spot and wait until 1:45. This place was buzzing for the day after Thanksgiving! Lots of friends, families, and mid size groups. There's a drive thru, order ahead, and order inside options. Despite the crowd, the staff was swift in helping each person and attentive with updates when partial orders were ready. Beautiful decor inside as well as indoor and outdoor seating. The space is a little small so be mindful of you are aiming to come to work/study. There are outlets so that is a plus. The store is a little loud due to the confined space but this is a great location for anyone stopping by for a drive thru coffee. So glad that a Better Buzz opened here! It took over a former coffee spot in the same plaza. Parking is ample. This location has a few tables and seats along the interior wall and few seats and tables outside as well. Took over the spot of another coffee shop, it is located in a pretty tight complex with limited but fast rotating parking lot. They do have drive-thru if there's no parking spaces. We ordered through their drive-thru and they had staff directly taking orders from your door. We got the Best Drink Ever with an extra shot and the coffee was delicious. Although iced, you could taste the toasty strong coffee with vanilla flavor. Could be due to the extra shot but it was flavorful. The Hazelnut Divinity was sweet and also well balanced with the coffee and the milk (I added almond milk instead). I have been out of country and also not frequented what used to be my favorite coffee shop across the 24H fitness in Peñasquitos and was sad to see the previous very original coffee shop Hawaiian theme gone. Instead a new Better Buzz. I was not impressed. I am pretty vocal about not liking coffee shop being central libraries and in this place with so very few tables I find terrible that they let people camp with their laptops occupying tables that are supposed to be for at least 2-3 people. Again, I don't get this kind of business and they all have grumpy face like don't even try to sit here with your coffee (helllooooo, this is a coffee shop).
