Service was excellent this time around, I ordered a decaf iced coffee "leave room for the 1/2 & 1/2" After the barista made the drink he asked if he left enough room for the 1/2 & 1/2 (that's good service) They had some good back ground music playing "loud enough to hear but not to be annoying" again good job. Glad i came here because the poor experience made me find another great coffee shop. If you order online and plan to pickup I'm sure its fine. But if you have to interact with the staff it's not worth it. Walked in, 2 people looked at me and kept on about their drinks. No greeting or anything. No one in line not many people in the shop. Im sure they were busy with online orders but the customer standing in your lobby should still be priority. Waited a couple more minutes then someone said they'd be there in a few. Decided to leave and found another great coffee shop instead. Pour Decision over off of Cottle road. A little drive but for sure worth it. Tired of coffee shops where they have poor customer service but premium prices. There's plenty of competition that will give you the proper service. read more

Zero stars should be an option. There was a tray with samples on the counter. Next to the tray was a large bucket. After trying the sample, my husband put the empty cup in the bucket. One employee came, looked in the bucket and said "Someone threw trash in the bucket." Another employee looked at us. She loudly and sternly asked "Did you guys throw trash in here?" My husband answered "Yes, is it not trash?" The response "No. It's 4 pounds of coffee." He apologized and let them know he obviously thought it was trash. We were very embarrassed with everyone staring at us. We should not have been reprimanded in front of other customers. The bucket should not have been left by the samples. Then the employees decided to scrape off some of the top layer and still use it. Super gross! read more

I've been going here for so long I can't even remember how many years - probably about 30. I normally get a cup of coffee so my review is just based on that, if you get other drinks they are probably fine. BUT ... the service is not friendly. Peet's used to have the best coffee around, always fresh and a much better cup than Starbucks. The roles are reversed now, I am sad to say. If you go to Starbucks, especially the ones with coffee on demand, you get a fresh cup and when you ask for dark ... it's dark, not the watered down crap I'm drinking now. You want fresh? Good luck, they usually can't even tell you when it was brewed. read more

I've spent thousands of dollars here.... The recent manger tells his employees not to socialize. I'm simply friendly with people, this place is no exception. I guess they make enough money here that they can be instructed to be Un relational to long term customers as they don't really need me or my $225 per month I've spent here for quite some time..... I will go elsewhere before or after the gym in the future. The 30 something easily expendable manager will learn when he attempts to secure a real job that without people like me , Peets will not exist! Telling your employs not to interact with customers who are in and out in five minutes at a pop max ....who never even sit there and sometimes come twice a day , is poor judgement , poor supervision and an easy way to loose customers who will let people know how they are treated. The youth here are great! Their boss is a fool who should be terminated! That's my take! And I have culinary degree with 22 years of restaurant management and a clue! Kudos to the young gentleman working on the morning of 8/17/23 around 7:15am, handling the register and pastries. You are always such a breath of fresh air regardless of what little contact we have. Your positive vibes do not go unnoticed. Not only is this Peet's Coffee the closest location to my work, I always come back because my lattes taste delicious, they are made according to my requests, and the baristas are so very fast. Ay yay yay, folks! Perhaps, this morning is not great for me. Perhaps, I should have made a different decision and ordered a hot drink from my usual coffee shop. I adore Peet's and it's been awhile since I visited one. Maybe, this will be the last time. I should have never walked in and placed an order when an employee was about to clock out. ( I didn't know until he walked out lol) He was distracted, wanted to leave asap, taking order while chatting with his coworker. I had to shut up mid-order, waited until he finished his conversation, observed his demeanor until he was ready to take my order. Then, behold, my fellow travelers! I had to shut up again and waited. The service was not friendly or very welcoming either. If you were about to leave in one minutes , please kind sir, let someone more respectful take over. Waited awhile for my one drink, continued to watch other customers who came after me received their orders first. Several regulars were greeted warmly. I wasn't. They all left and that's when the barista noticed me standing like a lost kid. I don't think they saw my order on the screen. No apology or nothing, but I completely understand. I wonder if they heard my "thank you" before I, too, walked out of the ambient store. Staff was friendly, but unfortunately the coffees were luke warm and not strong at all. Holiday blend just doesn't have the taste of a dark roast. Arrived here on a Sunday morning at 10 am to kill time. Lots of parking in the plaza and people already enjoying their morning coffee. Not much of a long line when I entered but 2-3 customers ahead of me that time. I ordered a small white chocolate mocha and that lasted me for a good 40 minutes. Wait time was about 5-7 minutes. So far, I see this is probably a go to spot for a caffeine bevy and I am minted as a regular and that's exciting! The baristas are enthusiastic and get the orders done faster than I am used to compared to other cafes, but that depends on who is the drink maker. I have tried iced matcha latte or "matcha" and drinks like vanilla iced latte and feel that the baristas need some extra push to have the drink made. Unnecessarily complicated experience today. I ordered a hot Cardamom Citrus Mocha--not the frappe--and ordered it "extra hot" with an added shot that I used reward points for...another employee came over to the cashier and asked "what is that," referring to one of the drink modifications, and the cashier explained to him that "it's extra hot" to which the other employee responded to the cashier, "that's a frappe," which is obviously the iced blended drink and not what I ordered. I figured they got it sorted out and rung it up correctly. Apparently the drink was still rung up as a frappe because that's what the barista made. He set it on the bar, I explained I ordered an extra hot mocha, he said sorry and went to remake it. The other employee who'd been talking to the cashier before came over and explained to me that they'd rung it up as a frappe because that is "THE" official Cardamom Citrus Mocha drink and so the cashier had assumed that's what I meant...so he assumed I ordered an extra hot frappe? And somehow it's my fault? Ok, weird but he said they would be able to make a hot version, no problem (which in my head should've been no problem from the get-go). I tried the remade drink once it was done and could tell it wasn't extra hot and there was no added shot. Barista said yeah, he forgot, and remade the drink for a second time. At last...third time was perfect. Apparently you have to be super explicit with them if you order a different temperature of drink because that simple ask went way over their heads. read more

One of my favorite go-to's. My ultimate combo is iced matcha latte light ice + bacon frittata. Chef's kiss! I'm not writing this review because of my order though. I noticed a customer spilled a drink all over the napkin station and one of the workers without hesitation, grabbed his empty cup and requested for a new drink for him. The customer looked really guilty but the worker met him with such grace and quickness, it's like she mothered/big sistered him out of the situation. The workers working at the bar didn't question the situation and recreated the drink immediately. They worked like a team to make sure the customer was taken care of. It's been 10 minutes and she's still wiping/mopping (it was a pretty big mess). Not an ounce of disgruntlement came out of her. I must applaud the whole team for this. read more

Jules working the register was really mean. We walked up - she presented no eye contact and instantly looked annoyed when she was taking my order. She kept her eyes on the register and when I asked if she heard the last item I got - It was the only time she made eye contact and she looked so irritated, her response was "no" and looked down back at the register and then it was just so awkward after that. My bf is alot less bothered by interactions if these happen but even he was like "I don't think ever came across someone that mean". The other people we talked to there were really nice. I prefer Peet's over Starbucks, and this is the closest location to me. I have had no issues with the service here. The store is a little small, but there is still a decent amount of seating inside, and there are several tables outside. It is usually peaceful enough to work or study here if needed. read more

She made me my free birthday drink and also said she was so sorry to hear I was not feeling well. I've ordered the small iced latte with oat milk (small iced latte $4.10, oat milk +$0.70) twice now, and both times I have fallen in love with the drink - creamy and delicious! My dad, even with his high coffee standards, really enjoys their hot americano with 2 shots. I still make the trek from Almaden, actually much prefer this locale vs the new one on Blossom Hill. Maybe I'm just being nostalgia, I've been coming here since they opened YEARS ago when I was a house-poor townhouse owner. Their small lattes all come standard with 2 shots of espresso vs Sbux who only give you 1 shot in their tall drinks. They also have better equipment set up (no automatic espresso machines there) which means you probably will get better shots of espresso. Also, this might have changed, but they usually use a more mellow roast, Major Dickason's, vs that nasty burnt, dark acid crap you usually get you-know-where. Tip: If you get a $20 Peets giftcard there they'll knock off a $1 from your order. Also, lots of times they'll have freebie coffee tasters set up on their counter. read more

Great customer service, just not the best in making sure the drinks come out okay. Not sure what happened with my iced drink, tasted amazing, but the amount of ice they placed in my drink, was pretty much to the top of the cup. To my surprise, it was more than 75% of the cup. Now, I'm not sure if it was just that the barista didn't want to open another almond milk, or really didn't know how much ice to put in my cup, but next time, I will definitely be asking for "light ice". This happens for my hot drinks too. They make my matcha as if it's some kind of cappuccino instead, always have to ask for "light foam". I'm recommending Peet's? I am a Peetnik - unfortunately and there are too many ancient memories of my first craft coffee experiences - at other Peet's and certainly not this location nor any in the South Bay - but when you completely butcher a drip coffee...then enough is enough. A long time ago. I gave up on getting a decent espresso at Pete's and this morning. I gave up on getting a decent drip experience at Peter's. The Pete employee filled my cup with the last bit of the tanker of medium roast, and she topped off my cup. She told me with dark rose. She said because we're out now of medium roast. a more awful concoction I never tasted since that time I ate, expired food in a foreign country. A note for Peter's coffee. When you are going to run out of a barrel of coffee, it is time to brew a new barrel of coffee. Combining drip coffees into one cup is a mortal coffee sin under normal circumstances. Camping on Everest would be the exception. so Pete I don't know if you read these anymore but all your locations and San Jose are the absolute pits when it comes to getting any coffee. I try to avoid other retail coffee places cause I like Pete's but give me a break. Until you give give me a break I am calling you, Peter's coffee because you have petered out. read more

This place has the best and fresh tasting flavors of coffee. They have distinct coffee varieties that Starbucks does not carry. The staff is friendly but a few if them does not know what their customers want because some people are very picky with their coffee. Hey, I'm fine if you all didn't greet me when you all are too busy serving 1-2 customers, but there's no excuse for 3-4 employees not to pay attention to the restroom. I went in, and it's like being inside one of those portable WC placed outside at a concert. It's so stinky I just tossed out the rest of my latte. Its messy, the toilet bowl is never cleaned, it seems. It's a shame that this happens here, in Camden, this is not San Francisco! Other than that, everything else in this shop is fine. Snooty servers. I asked to get a balance on my Peet's card before ordering. Lilliana was TOTALLY annoyed. Maybe her nose ring was causing her pain..It looked pretty swollen and red to me. Was it sterilized? Was she washing her hands? I am not sure. Still, I placed my order and asked if she was having a nice day. No response. I tried to engage in conversation with her again, total wast eof air. So, instead, I simply asked for a bag for the veggie plate and yogurt I had bought. She scoffed. And all of this was AFTER having to wait in a long line for 20+ minutes. She apparently thought she could swipe my money too. After paying for my coffee and snacks, my Peet's card had a low balance of just a few dollars. When I reached out for her to hand it to me, she asked if I wanted her to just get rid of the card because there wasn't much left on it. Seriously?! Peet's coffee is far better than Starbucks (sorry not sorry SB fans), but the service is obviously inferior at this particular Peet's location. read more
