No Bueno!

Last time I was out, the app. wouldn't work for the drink ordered because cappuccino wasn't selectable... had to order in person. Today app didn't get past payment. Ordered in person. Ordered it wet... it wasn't. I could tell as soon as I picked it up. He did remake it after he checked the foam. Love my Peet's just not sure about this one.

Thanks to PG&E working on the powerlines near my home last week, I had to come to Peet's in order to get some work done. First thing I noticed, there were not a lot of outlets near seating (my luck on a day my laptop needed power), but I eventually ended up finding a counter seat at the corner of the coffee shop with an electrical outlet next to it. What a relief, as I was on a time crunch. There weren't many options in the display case in the afternoon (cinnamon roll, morning glory muffin, coffee cake, peach berry scone), and nothing appealing to me, so I just got an egg and cheese sandwich. It was premade and heated after I ordered, prepared quickly without having to wait, and service was standard. The taste was pretty ordinary, a bit stale and dry, but not too bad, it was fine, the ingredients are simple so not really expecting too much.

Love this location! Free WiFi, restrooms, spaces for work. Staff is very friendly! There are tables outdoors as well. Coffee is good! The location is great: parking slots nearby, garage parking, Safeway.

Bought some bags of freshly ground coffee from Peet's Coffee at the River Oaks shop and was very satisfied! Cup of Ethiopian Fancy coffee first thing in morning is perfect! I have heard/read about Peet's high quality coffee beans and now have tasted the difference. This location has decent hours but not open as late as some of the other coffee shops I frequent in the area. Lots of seating areas, great ambiance, and friendly service.

Original Black Tie

Not a great place to work or study. Very few power outlets and deafening music. I had to go outside to join a meeting which sucked during a heat wave. No complaints about the drinks or service though.

January 20 2023, Friday- 2:00 PM 2 Adults grabbing some drinks before going back to work Atmosphere - 5 stars Food - 4 star Service - 5 stars --Atmosphere-- Peets is located in the Rivermark plaza and was very busy at this time with people on their laptops or hanging out with friends. We were able to snag a table and hang out for a while before going back to work. --Food-- Iced Coffee - Had better, had worse, thought it was just ok. Caramel Macchiato - Very good and strong --Service-- The staff was nice and knowledgeable, they helped us with our choice of drinks. The drinks came out fast, and the line went by fast. --Future-- Peets location is convenient, the place is clean, and the coffee is good. I will definitely come here again if I want a quick pick me up!

Outside and soaking up some sun and diving into a cup O'Joe! This corner spot has one of my favorite aspects I love about cafes, a place in the sun. To enjoy a cup of coffee outside is one of my favorite things. Not all outside cafes are equal. What makes it special is the ambience, a small garden sporting flowers and comforting greenery, seats spread out where you can choose sun or shade. There's even the Northside Branch Library within short walking distance.

Side angle of my ham and Swiss sandwich

I've been here almost every day of the week so far and I'm so impressed by the kindness and cheerfulness that the workers exude every morning to workers! With their "good mornings", "how are yous", and happy smiles, anyone that comes it with a sour mood immediately is leaving with a big bright smile! Anyways, I'm sad that I didn't take a picture of all of my baked goods that I've eaten for this week, lol but trust me, all of them were warmed to perfection! Those baked goods gave me energy to study and keep myself self sustained until lunch time! This morning, I decided to get a meaty ham and Swiss sandwich and it did not disappoint! Although, it was a bit messy with the sauce spilling out everywhere (my fault though). I appreciate that the workers call out online orders and Doordash orders, rather than chucking them to the side, making online order folks wonder if their order is still in the works or completed. I find this place more pleasant than another infamous coffee shop. Customers are more courteous about their loudness and will take a look around before deciding whether or not their conversations should be taken elsewhere as some folks come here to do some work inside (since there aren't outlets outside). Side note: it seems like people come in here to use the bathroom and bounce? Kinda strange, but lol. Just be aware that the bathrooms here aren't as clean as they should be, but they do have a sign that says you can flag staff to fix up the restrooms should there be any issues.

matcha oat latte with brown sugar jelly

Peet's has been husband's fav coffee for forever. I'm not a coffee drinker but he told me Peet's now has brown sugar jellies you can add to cold beverages. Whaaaaaat? Since hubs (the coffee drinker) loves me, he gave me the free drink he earned to try it out. I went with the matcha oat latte with jellies. I love him very matcha too - he knows the way to my heart Unfortunately (or fortunately for the parents) the kids weren't fans of the jellies. They were definitely quite chewy and sweet but I loved it! The oat milk was fab with the matcha and the jellies! If they had a coffee jelly that would be delicious with a sweet coffee Can you tell I'm not a black coffee drinker? This was for this drink, but I've always had a good experience here with prompt mobile orders and helpful staff!m

The worker who turned out to be unreasonably rude

This worker saw me and my girl walk in, and when we went to order, she acted like we were annoying her. When we got our food, my sandwich was smashed. I went up to ask for another one, but that one came as if it was not even put together- just thrown into the bag.

Morning smile 2021

This is one popular coffee house during the mornings and they don't stay open late. We are still in the C19 pandemic and they were only allowing outdoor seating. I'm not a fan of their fancy drinks but a hot red eye coffee was just right with flavor and strength.

Occasionally burnt espresso but I love them too much to mind. I am a matcha snob to say the LEAST. Hands down best coffee shop matcha in the Bay Area. The classic iced matcha latte with honey is grassy and earthy and creamy and a little sweet. The iced banana pudding matcha latte had people lined up around the corner for months when it came out. It is deliciously worth the wait. Best banana cold foam in my opinion because it's made with actual bananas instead of flavoring so it's much more mellow. The double matcha they had for awhile is also awesome. Banana cold foam also goes great on an espresso latte. Now they let you add whichever cold foam you like to whatever drink which is great. Basically you can't go wrong. They are always changing up the menu for the new season and have lots of unique drinks on their menu. Not much seating inside at this location. The winchester Blvd one has more if that's what you're looking for. Their pastries are also all yummy and they sell their matcha powder for $60 for 100g which is a GREAT price for a great matcha. I would've gate kept this place but everyone already knows about it so I HAVE to show them the love they deserve!!

I got the melon matcha with whole milk and the matcha cream top. I think I like their guava matcha more than the honeydew, but it was still good. It had a distinct honeydew flavor and the matcha itself was smooth. A friend of mine tried it and said it tasted like a lip smackers, which I think is a good way to describe it. I came on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. All the seats inside were taken but there were open tables outside. There's metered parking along Second and William street and it wasn't hard to find a spot. I love coming to academic and trying their new drinks, so I'll definitely be back.

Now that that's done, their matcha is really good. REALLY GOOD. I appreciate them being plant based as I am a lactose intolerant girlie. The strawberry matcha is the perfect sweetness for me and I really enjoyed it, wishing that it came in a size 10x bigger. When you walk in, you might miss it. There are a few businesses in there and The Orange Tabby is elevated and is a small counter. My first time coming, it was closed (Wednesdays) but it prepared me for coming back because I knew exactly where it was. The inside of the building was very nice and clean as was The Orange Tabby. I ordered online, letting them know I was bringing my own cups. It didn't save time in the aspect where they had to wait for my cups to make it, but I was able to pay and just come in and drop off my cups to them. The girls working were super nice and friendly. The inside is small and was very crowded since they had several vendors set up inside. It was a bit claustrophobic. I think it would've been helpful if the volunteers managed the crowd and organized the lines a bit better. On the bright side, the staff were very friendly and helpful. I tried the summer special, Mango Creamsicle Matcha, with 50% sweetness. The matcha was delicious, the flavor really came through. I love matcha so I'm glad it wasn't weak. That said, I felt like the mango flavor was too subtle. I'm not sure if it's because I adjusted the sweetness but I could barely taste the mango so it didn't give mango creamsicle vibes. I still enjoyed the drink though. I would like to come back when it's less crowded to explore the market and try more drinks without the crowds.

It wasn't crazy busy so it was easy to order through one of their two tablets and find a spot to sit. It is very spacious and filled with many tables, so even when busy you'll likely be able to find a spot. The menu is a bit messy to look at--there is a big menu hanging over the kiosks, another posted alongside where a line is formed, then the menu on the tablet kiosks themselves. It's a pretty big menu featuring primarily coffee-based drinks, matcha lattes, and a wide variety of food, so you'll likely find something appealing. I ordered their smoked salmon bagel (which rang up to about $16) and their matcha latte ($8); to be honest, neither were outstanding. The salmon and avocado in the bagel were great, but the bagel itself was a bit stale--for $16, it's a bit hard to swallow. The matcha was very milky, and there is another store offering better matcha drinks in the same plaza. I'll admit, though, it's a little on me for not picking coffee at a spot with "coffee" in the name. I will say, though, that the atmosphere in the main area is pretty good; the decor is understated but comfortable, and the lighting is good. The service is also solid--the servers are friendly and our order came out quickly. I will say that the bathroom feels ominous. Overall, it's a great spot to study; Big Mug is open late, has free Wi-Fi and a bathroom for customers, and offers both food and caffeinated drinks for longer study sessions. I feel that the prices vary widely for items but skew towards being too pricy for the quality, at least from my limited experience. I plan on coming back to give other items a try, but for now, it's not a favorite.
