If I could rate this NO STARS I would. This is one of the worst places I have ever been to. Management was the worst. I went into this restaurant and had the owner tell me that I should tip better when I had tipped 15% on 3 different bills. The owner made a comment that beyond offended me. The owner had followed me out the door and said to me and my friends WE "disrespected" his waitor...after the fact I waited 20 minutes just to get seated and drinks. ALSO our waitor had the worst attitude stating he should have been off his shift hours before we FINALLY got seated. I am beyond dissapointed with the way this establishment haggled for $20 worth of tips on 3 seperate bills worth $6.69, $3.78, and $16.00. Best Huevos Ranchers in all of Castle Rock and perhaps the WORLD! Pegasus is a hometown staple in Castle Rock. Serving Mexican, Greek and American food. My husband and one of my sons always order the Gyros. I don't care for them, but they love them. My 8 year old is considered a Pitaist. What he does with his pita bread and gyros and fixings, is art indeed. I would say that I eat at Pegasus at least 1 time a week and many weeks 2 or 3 times and I have not had the experience that Jared G has had. The owner, John, once chided me for being on my cell phone while waiting for a table to be available. (I was WAY back away from the host stand and listening to a conference call, not speaking at all) He was in fact very rude to me. I vowed never to spend another dime there. But... the Huevos sucked me back in. As much as I am in his store with my family and friends, the man still has never spoken to me again. Writing this makes me want to stop going! But... Excellent breakfast. Whether craving hearty or sweet you can't go wrong! Or do both! The menu makes it easy to feast on pancakes snd still get a side of biscuts and gravy to satisfy both sweet and savory cravings. The french toast was the best I've ever had! The green chili is good topped over burritos. They will deep fry your bacon for you.... uhm yum!!! The crispier the better! Yummy mimosas! Steven in suspenders gave us great service! Just had a wonderful lunch with friends here at Pegusus Restaurant. It was our first time there. They offered several selections in Mexican, Greek and American food. I almost never write bad reviews because I like to give businesses the benefit of the doubt unless there is something egregious. I have eaten here a few times in the past (before the pandemic) and have been happy with the food and service, so was expecting a similar experience. I realize that COVID-19 has put a strain on small businesses, especially bars and restaurants, but the Health Department has put in place rules designed to help slow or stop the COVID-19 crisis so that these businesses can eventually be back to normal operation. Pegasus doesn't seem to care about those rules, as I witnessed them breaking almost every one. Upon entering the establishment, there were no fewer than 10 people crammed into the entryway and foyer. The owner, who was acting as the greeter and host, was not wearing a face covering - only a bandana around his neck. At no time did he ever cover his nose or mouth. On this Yelp page, he states that they are taking precautions. This is at the least disingenuous, at worse an outright lie. The servers were NOT wearing gloves, and while all had bandanas as face coverings, when moving between tables most would lower them to their necks. The bartender never covered his face. The owner states that they have removed and spaced some tables. If so, perhaps 2 or 3 tables were removed, as the remainder of the dining area had tables within 2-4 feet of each other, closer when people were sitting at them. The inside bar area had people from different parties literally sitting shoulder to shoulder. This made me and my two companions uncomfortable, however we were hungry and had been sat, so opted to eat and then leave. No luck there. We sat for 10 minutes before having a server come to us. We immediately ordered 2 drinks from the bar - a Bloody Mary and a tap Stella Artois. Twenty-one minutes later, neither had been delivered. At this point we opted to leave. As we were walking out we passed our server who seemed dismayed that we were leaving. She had a tray full of drinks - none of which were the Bloody Mary or beer. She said that the bartender was still "working on them". Come on....how much effort does it take to pour a beer into a glass and make a Bloody Mary at noon on a Sunday? With this level of disregard for the community and the patrons, we won't be returning. The owner probably doesn't care. However, if YOU give a rat's behind about returning to some semblance of normalcy, take your dining business elsewhere. Castle Rock has many fine establishments adhering to the rules - please support them so that they don't go out of business. read more

After hearing about this place from several people in town my family and I decided to stop in for dinner. We were happy with the food, and the prices weren't bad either. Our waitress was great and she took great care of our two little girls. She even brought us more chocolate mints for them after we were done. I definitely recommend! read more

I have just moved to Castle Rock, and my dad and I decided to explore our new town. We went into Pegasus looking for a good breakfast, and boy, did we find it. I ordered the Jean's Combo with the hashbrowns, link sausage, fried egg whites (the server said it would be $3 extra, but she'd put it in the Server Menu to save us money), and the awe-inspiring French toast. The hashbrowns were tasty, not too greasy, the egg whites were perfectly salted, the sausage was wonderful, and OMG the French toast was amazing. I have no idea how they make it, but it is certainly the piece-de-resistance. So yummy. Best French toast I've ever had. My dad ordered a make-your-own-omelet, with egg whites, gyro meat, and avocado with wheat toast. He said the omelet was delicious, and I tried some of the wheat toast with marmalade (I LOVE marmalade, and love when a restaurant supplies it) and the toast was so good. It tasted homemade. Very light and fluffy. I was very impressed with the building. From the street, you would have no idea how big it is on the inside. Very roomy, I love the art-deco feel. I'm in love. Our server was a very sweet lady, Jeanette. Tried really hard to save us money with our egg-white obsession. She didn't hover, but I was never without water. All in all, I was very happy with my Pegasus experience. read more

If I could leave no star on this review, I would, however I'm required to put at least one to write this. The first time I went to Pegasus I didn't have great service, but I thought I'd give it another try. This is how my second experience went. We sat outside on the patio and it took a good 10-15 before anyone came up to us. I ordered the gyros and strongly emphasised no tomatoes as I am allergic and my friends daughter ordered the cinnamon roll. After about 40 minutes we finally get our food, my plate was full of tomatoes and they then decided to tell us that that they are out of Cinnamon rolls and we NEEDED to pic another item that would be out in 5 minutes. After I picked off all the tomatoes, finished my food, my friend finished her food, but her daughter was still waiting for her French toast. We finished our meals, received our bill and her food 30 minutes later. There were no apologies nor compensation done. And her French toast was cold. Needless to say we will not be returning! read more

I was impressed. First off, we were greeted by the owners wife. She asked if we dined there previously, and when we told her no, she gave us a tour of the facility. As we were walking around, we were able to see others choices of food. Everything looked and smelled,,, Fabulous! it was a difficult decision, but I decided to try the Gyro. The meat was very good, but the sauce was different than I am used to but still very tasty. I would order it again! I was very excited to see the breakfast menu, and to know it is served until 2pm. They serve home fries!!! finally a place that knows how to make and serve them! The atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant was nice. Mexigreek? Hmmmm ok. This is Colorado. I thought they could use some greek music. The place is pretty loud with out it thuo. The coffee is weak, skip it. The prime rib burrito was big and looked delicious. I had the gyro breakfast it was average. The kids pancake breakfast was $6.00....not exactly a great value for one pancake. My water remained empty for half the meal. I will probably try some other place next time we need to rendezvous in Castle Rock. read more
