Scrambled eggs with shrimp and fried rice lunch special
Alicia A.

Was looking for lunch that hubby can enjoy. Stopped by here to order take out. Ended up ordering the beef chow fun and their scrambled eggs with shrimp lunch specials. Orders were ready in about 10 minutes, and it was piping out. The beef chow fun was ok, had some of that "wok hay" all the Chinese people are looking for. Decent portion size. The lunch specials were ok, the BBQ pork fried rice was bland and needed seasoning. They also asked if I wanted soy sauce and I said no... Who needs soy sauce on fried rice?? Apparently, this one needed it. Decent portion size as well. Prices seems reasonable for this economy. Quick and fast ordering, ample parking lot.

Have not been here in a while! Prices have increased quite a bit, like other places. The dinner set was still the best deal: $44 for 3 items, each additional items is extra charge. You can order rice too. Ambiance was still bright and clean. Parking easy. Accessible just across the freeway entrance. Service was fast, accurate and spot on. Smiley and typical Asian restaurant service.

Delicious Chinese food in the Bay Area! One of our favorite places to go for a good deal as well. They have a menu that is 3 items for $44 plus a choice of corn chicken, hot and sour, or west lake beef soup. My family love taking advantage of the deal and we add in an order of the bbq pork fried rice. We ordered Peking spareribs, salt and pepper fish, beef and peppers with special sauce, scrambled egg with shrimp, and bbq pork fried rice. Everything tasted really good with good flavor. They don't use MSG. The Peking spareribs are very popular. I saw each table order it. The service is always friendly and they make sure they take good care of you. They are attentive. There are a lot of tables to sit with families. Highly recommend!

Got the combo with 3 dishes and 1 soup. It was not bad and quite a good deal. Definitely a great place to get take out when we need a break from cooking.

Peking spare ribs lunch special

This is one of my friend's favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. It's standard fare for suburban Chinese American restaurant. My usual order includes Peking spare ribs lunch special with steam rice, fried wonton skin strips and hot and sour soup. The soup was very peppery, warm and tart that is usually expected. My lunch special maybe a case of too much of a good thing. The spare ribs were plenty and should use a knife to cut to bite size pieces. The coating was akin to sweet and sour sauce that was expected, nothing out of the ordinary. However the wonton strips, maybe their diners' favorite was a reminder of years past. Overall fine meal. Service was attentive, my water glass was constantly filled. A nice lunch.

4.3 out of 5.... No need to travel to Oakland or SF to find Chinese Cantonese style food. It's the type of food I grew up with . Food is tasty and a larger quality portion compared to other Chinese food places in the area . The beef chow fun has the perfect texture and the beef tender with wok hay. The string bean and beef had crisp snappy green beans . The corn and chicken soup was tasty to start the meal . The big winner was the salt and pepper pork chop which was thinly cut with a fried outer coating that was delish . This is my go to Chinese food in the area . Give them a try and eat in or better yet take out if you live nearby .

I have mixed feelings about this place . I walked in and wasn't greeted. Stood for a minute and simply held up my finger indicating for one. I sat down and was asked what I would like to drink. I said water and the server says, "We don't have lemon." I told him I didn't ask for lemon. I ordered my food and a bit later he Just dropped the food and left. I wasn't checked on during my entire lunch. No is everything ok, can I get you anything else, or refill of my water that stayed empty pretty much the entire time. The place is small and kind of ran down on the inside. The seating is tight. There was one larger round table covered in green beans. I guess they were sorting them and we were just kinda eating around them. Here's where the mixed feelings come in. The food was awesome. I ordered vegetable fried rice that was fresh, not too much soy sauce. It had water chestnuts which was a little different but nevertheless yummy. I highly recommend if you're vegetarian. I also got the salt and pepper tofu. The bean curd was sooooo good. I added a little chili oil(I had to flag someone down and ask for) which was a delicious touch. My overall all opinion about this place? I wouldn't dine in there again however, it's perfect for to go/take out because the service is bad but the food is great!!

Had a craving for the rock cod clay pot, so we hit the road to Peking Delight. We went with the 3 item special, including the rock code clay pot, the eggplant with the spicy garlic sauce, and the salt and pep[per prawns. We started with Westlake minced beef soup. All dishes were good. The salt and pepper prawns stood out because the prawns were good sized and the lightest of coating. Some places basically cover prawns with a batter coating, but the Peking Delight version was super light. We were having dinner pretty early on a Satuday so the restaurant was pretty quiet.

If you're looking for a hidden gem in San Ramon, Peking Delight is the place to be. The restaurant itself is small and cozy, which gives it a warm, no-frills vibe--don't let the size fool you, though, because the food packs a serious punch. I've been a few times now, and the standout for me has to be their Peking Duck. It's crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and absolutely packed with flavor. I also have to mention the Shrimp Fried Rice--perfectly seasoned, with plump shrimp and just the right amount of wok-charred goodness. Every bite is a little taste of heaven. The staff is friendly and efficient, and although the space can feel a bit tight, the food more than makes up for it. If you're craving authentic Chinese flavors in a relaxed, local spot, you can't go wrong with Peking Delight. Highly recommend!

I haven't been here in a long time. Glad I returned. I forgot how much I love their food. The egg foo yung is eggy! The string beans have the perfect crunch. Everything was delicious. Service was good. The prices have gone up though.

Peking Delight has been here for awhile. Just a few tables for dine in inside. Sparse decor. Offerings: usual Chinese American fare-tofu,3 item special, lunch specials, soups, chow fun/mein, mu shu, seafood, sizzling plates, clay pot, vegetables, Rice plates, fried rice.. Bites: beef chow fun (15.50) to go -looked darker than the usual lightly stir fry. No wok hei flava. No cooking skills. Noods tasted stiff, day old, salty. Dark soy used. Everything warmed & tossed together... *tastes similar to my badass cooking.. -had the usual tender beef slices, green onions, onions, Eggplant with garlic sauce lunch special (14) -hot & sour soup perfecto with hotness from black pepper, sour from vinegar. -fried char siu rice warmed up nicely with peas & carrot, dark soy sauce. The usual quick stir fry... Eggplant with sauce slightly garlicky, fresh spices of fresh eggplant, green onions. Tastes the usual. Yum. Comes with fried wonton/sweet sauce. 3.5 stars. Repeatable. Would skip fried rice, chow mein/fun..chow fun didn't travel well. 3fer deal worthy!

Ordered take out and noticed their servings are getting smaller. We used to love eating here because of the value for money but makes me think twice now.

We noticed tables of candies and a whole wall of candy that you can choose from each candy was labeled with different countries where the candies came from which I thought was pretty cool. The people asked us if we need any help to let them know. We did notice that the prices were pretty high. So for 1 pound of candy in the bag it was $25. However, the girls did pick out a couple pieces of candy for each and we spent about $4.50. This place is definitely cute and provides a lot of different types of candies, but it is kind of pricey. I would definitely still come back when I have the extra funds.

They sell a ham & cheese croissant, coffees, teas, lattes, and four flavors of Japanese shaved ice called kakigori, which is the star of the show. The texture of this shaved ice is like fluffy cool softness that melts in your mouth. It is different than the traditional shaved ice and it is far from a snow cone. We ordered mango and kinako (a roasted soybean flour commonly mixed with sugar). These are large desserts! It takes time to make them since there are fresh ingredients inside. The mango was superb with little bits of fresh mango buried inside the ice. Not sickeningly sweet like the syrups most places use. My husband's had little mochi pieces mixed inside. It is common to add kinako to mochi so this was a bonus and a nice surprise. The kinako dessert was sweeter than the mango. Please know that there seems to be no a/c in this little shop but she has fans going. We went in the late afternoon so it was really uncomfortable inside. I had to leave and wait outside until the dessert was ready. It's hard to take these home as it melts fast so we sat inside to enjoy them. It was like heaven in my mouth and it cooled me down instantly. You must be patient as it takes at least 10-15 minutes for her to prepare the desserts but it is worth the wait! There is a small parking lot right in front shared with other businesses. Located right off the freeway behind Burger King.

I guess the rent isn't too bad because the place is small, but it is nice and the service is really good too! Definitely will be back! I'm actually no longer as surprised at the stellar ratings.
