I ordered a few dinners one night. About $50. My mother is elderly and doesnt eat much. We purchased a small shrimp fried rice for her. I try not to compare but I've never seen yellow fried rice. What happened to soy sauce. It's usually a little darker. It had some shrimp and onions. That's it. No green onion but most importantly no egg . Fried rice without egg isnt fried rice. I dont mind paying a little more for quality. When I called she had an attitude from the moment she answered. I just asked if they put eggs etc in the rice. She said what kind. I said the kind I ordered. This wasnt a combo meal. She asked was it dinner. So for dinner I cant order a small anything. Not everyone want a large portion. This isnt about the money but cutting corners and then getting upset when we asked questions is offensive. Never again. Also watching us like a hawk when we grabbed a couple of forks. read more

My egg drop soup was nasty was burnt , I asked for shrimp egg rolls they give me veggie egg rolls which is not what I asked for. I asked for a refund or an exchange and they told me no. So that was a waste of my $14 of what I can eat cuz it's nasty and wrong. And both of the cashiers were very rude and disgruntled employees or whatever they were. I would not recommend this restaurant for anybody for any good reason just rude and disgruntled people if you're going to do something good right. If you don't have something so you don't have it don't discharge for somebody but something they didn't ask for. Food is always the best in Goose Creek. I always order chicken on a stick because the chicken is large and seasoned properly. My second favorite is house and house lo mein. the Sweet and Sour chicken is always a favorite with the family. Oh yeah, don't forget the lumpia-love that crunchy! The service is always amazing. Pretty good food considering all the other Chinese takeout spots on St. James. Ordered a special combination. The egg roll was fried to perfection. Not saying it was gourmet but considering it's Chinese fast food, it was above average. Very fast and tasty. Downside was that the pork fried rice was super skimpy on the pork. At least as a part of the combination it was. Possibly would be more if you order just the rice as an entree but I did not verify that. The menu has been updated to reflect inflation so prepare to pay an extra dollar at least above the old menu. read more

I try to keep an open mind-and lower my standards a bit-for these strip mall Chinese take-out places. Sadly I cannot lower my standards enough to find this place acceptable. The hubs and I ordered cashew nut chicken, spicy shedded beef, egg drop soup, and hot&sour soup. I will say that the cashew chicken was edible, it was not awesome, but it was not terrible, so I can reccomend this if you are in the area and simply desperate for Chinese food. Everything else was terrible. The shredded beef wasn't...by this I mean that I got a bowl full of shredded peppers and onions and perhaps 6-8 teeny tiny itty bitty shreds of mystery meat. The sauce was some kind of sweet/sour vinegary soupy yuck. It was also not a bit spicy. The hot&sour soup was neither hot nor was it sour. The eggdrop soup, well...we each had one spoonful looked at each other and dumped it. Come to think of it, most of it went into the trash. I won't be back. Gosh I'm hungry... read more

Stopped in to place and order and pay was told 15-20 min so I went home (I live around the corner). I took a shower pre heated my oven for my sons dinner and returned 30 min later to find they couldn't remember my order and had not made my food they claimed it was busy but it was empty when I placed my order and there were only two people there when I went to pick it up. Excuses were given instead of apology's truly poor service I mean it's the prime function of a take out place to take an order then produce it for the customer. So I waited another 15 min for my food. It wood was not Terrible but it wasn't great either .... incredibly average food with incredible poor service if this place wasn't a 1.5 min drive from my house I would probably not go again but it's too close to my home to nix it from my list of places to eat read more

Have you ever noticed that sometimes Chinese food sounds AMAZING but ends up being just ho-hum food that leads to a feeling of overwhelming lethargy? Peking Gourmet is acceptable Chinese food but I wouldn't describe it as "good." The General Tso's Chicken (c'mon, you know you order it every time too) is bland and chewy. Is it just me or did General Tso's chicken become more bland country-wide as it became more popular? The chicken lo mein was also very bland. My general Tsao's chicken was dry (how does that ever happen?!) and tasted as if it had been made yesterday. The rice had barely any flavor and the crab Rangoon wasn't even warm! I've had their food in the past and was pleased but it would seem they've taken a turn for the worse. read more

Let me start by saying the owners are VERY friendly. Waited 30 mins for our order. Our spare ribs were just actual ribs, that were charbroiled. The soup is cold and flavorless. The wontons are stale. Rice is crunchy and flavorless. We had Tso chicken and sesame chicken. They served us the same exact chicken with different garnish. They added pepper to his and sesame seeds to mine. I've eaten at atleast a hundred Chinese restaurants. This was hands down the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Shame because the people are so nice :( read more

As far as take out Chinese goes, this is the best in town by far! Always fast and super fresh. My man likes his General's extra extra spicy, and this is the only spot that makes it hot enough for him. Definitely recommend! read more

My wife and I have been ordering out from here for about 8 years now. This past order of Mei Fun had gnats cooked with the noodles - I though it was pepper, but had a closer look when I realized I couldn't taste any pepper. This was our standby cheap comfort food place, but we're done with it now. I have no clue what these other people are talking about because their food is ALWAYS good! Crunchy and flavorless rice...Where at? Stale wontons....NEVER THAT! Cold flavorless soup?? Lemme explain something, if u order egg drop soup, its gonna look like snot from any takeout spot, because thats what it is... snot in a bowl! Don't order it and then complain because you didn't realize how slimey the nature of that soup is. They cook great food at this place, and they are very friendly. I live in Moncks Corner and I drive past my neighborhood takeout place to come down to Peking, and will continue. All this coming from a native New Yorker who is picky about Chinese and the holy grail: pizza! read more

Food is hit or miss. They seem to make the prices up as they go along. Menu says one price and your total ends up being an additional $2 (tax can't be that much). Lunch menu says it comes with tea or soup. When I asked about it I was told it was a dollar extra. read more
