Hidden landmark (I hope it is) in Camarillo. Been around since 1980's. Apparently everyone local knows about it. It is honor to finally try a restaurant rated so high. This is a spot on must visit restaurant. Drinks- Started off with a drink called Suffering Bastard made with 151 & Meyers dark rum. For a Chinese restaurant this was really good quality (not fresh). I forget to take a photo but there are about 8 tropical drinks you can order like Mai Tai, Hurricane, Pina Colada and zombie that I can remember. There is also a full wine/beer list. Food- Cantonese, Szechuan and Mandarin style cuisine. -Szechuan wontons was marinated in the most comforting feel good sauce. -Black Pepper Noodle dish- Marinated noodles with peppered steak -Kung Pao Chicken (my personal favorite). -Sesame pockets with meat. Crispy exterior enveloped in a sesame bread pocket with warm marinated meat inside. (my 2nd favorite) Delicious and well done overall. Very high quality and satisfying comfort food. Service is amazing. Restaurant does appear dated and possibly needs new seating booths but it's not bad. I shall return to try the dim sum, shrimp dishes and tofu. Thank you Peking Inn for a memorable evening.

This restaurant has delicious food! We usually eat at Chester's Asia but the service hasn't been that good lately. This restaurant has wonderful service and everyone is so kind and smiling....especially our server Maddie. She was so attentive and knew exactly what we needed and brought it before we even asked. The lights are dimmed and there's an enhanced ambiance here. Feels very romantic and cozy at the same time. I would give this restaurant a ten out of ten!

I hadn't come here in years, but came twice in a couple months and it's one of my favorite Chinese spots in the area! The honey walnut shrimp was cooked so well and the sauce was so tasty. The bbq pork with green beans had great flavor and the green beans were fresh. We also ordered the tangerine chicken and fried jumbo shrimp which were both great as well. I love the ambiance inside and the pink colors. The service is great as well and they are always kind and helpful. This is such a great local spot and I recommend it!

Separate party room.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST CHINESE FOOD we've EVER HAD! I'm old too!!!! Atmosphere great very high class, beautiful. Located in a shopping center. VERY nice large booths. See pix and also see the party room for special occasions. Personnel friendly and quick. We have been here a couple years ago and knew it to be the best. Please see the pictures. The secret to their success can be the chef who is still there. He has been there since 1982! We had the lunch specials. I had the house (all meats), chow mein, fried rice (best ever), egg roll thin batter solid, egg flower soup, 2 fried wontons. Automatically they bring you a pot of tea. Husband had Sweet and Sour Pork and items I had. They also gave us a fortune cookie and an almond cookie. Wish we lived closer!

I was craving some good asian comfort food. I decided to give Peking Inn a try! I called the restaurant and ordered the lunch portion of black pepper beef with steamed rice, mongolian beef with steamed rice and shrimp har gow. It was ready in 10-15 mins. I got home and the food looked absolutely delicious. I dug in and it was hitting the spot. I was eating pretty fast, one of my bites felt like I just chewed some hair, but I dismissed it as a vegetable and kept eating. As my meat was disappearing, I noticed a short curly black hair mixed in with my mongolian beef entree. I immediately spit out my food and trashed everything. I thought back to the hair like texture that was in my mouth that I dismissed and ate. I'm really disappointed to give a two star rating, but I feel sick to my stomach at the fact that there were multiple pieces of hair in my food. What a shame.

I had Salt and Pepper Shrimp. Fried rice came with it. My waiter was great and the food was hot and fresh.

Everything was delicious with a great price point. Restaurant was quiet and extremely clean. Check them out!!

Hallway

Decor is extremely dated. Vases and statues clearly are only dusted on the front side. The bathroom and hallway leading to it are covered in grime. Bathroom needs a deep cleaning. When our food came there was hair in my cashew shrimp plate. I show the server and he takes plate away and leaves the food that had a hair in it - and brings me a new plate. I'm not eating food that has hair in it . All of the food was very bland, the fried rice wasn't fried. It was white rice with soy sauce. Absolutely disappointing and embarrassing to bring a guest here. She shared the same sentiments. You know darn well when you have to take all the food away and they don't want boxes - there is a big problem. We will not be back.

A couple of dishes were okay, but several were way too oily. Mediocre dim sum, good fresh vegetable ingredients in other dishes.

Not a lot of good Chinese food in town but the flat noodles were very good! We also got Mongolian Beef and a couple other things, all good.

Is dim sum still only on Saturdays and Sundays only?

Not sure about the carts, since the pandemic and all, but you can order it any time any day, in restaurant or for delivery. You just have to ask/check what items they still have.

Do they have dim sum carts on weekends?

No more carts after COVID- it's now made fresh & brought to your table.

Is dim sum every day or just on Sundays? What hours do they serve dim sum?

They have dim sum cart on Saturday and Sunday lunch time.but I think you can still order on weekdays.

Drove into town from the dessert this evening and wanted Chinese. Checked out a few reviews and…read moreonly 2 places popped up that had at least 4 stars. After looking at menus and comparing we decided on Peking. Sure glad we did too! I have to say if you are ever in Ventura please give this place a try! First thing I noticed is this place is simple yet has a quality about it. I would bring a date here, rather maybe a second or third date. It's nice inside. Wait staff was amazing. Now to the good stuff! I ordered chicken chow fun and partner had Mushu pork and for the appetizer we ordered the paper wrapped chicken. The chicken hit the table first wrapped in tin foil. That didn't deter us at all. This was served with duck sauce and spicy mustard. The mustard was amazing but i love spice! Both were good but the mustard opened up my nasal passages and made me go wow!! Awesome! The two main dishes hit the table and we dug in. Both were great! Let me tell you how hard it is to find a good Chinese place that isn't swimming in soy and oil! This place seasoned correctly and was not greasy at all!! I will tell you this; if you like fast Chinese food like Panda Express and that is what you think of Chinese food then stay there. Here you'll get properly seasoned fair. Over all I recommend and when back in Ventura will visit again for sure! The pictures don't do this place justice.

This little restaurant is amazing, absolutely love that it's stuck around on CSU Channel Islands'…read morecampus for so long. When I was a student here, I often frequented Mom Wong's or Tortillas and they're still here which is incredible. Mom Wong's is very student-friendly prices as well. Each dish pictured here was about $10-12 and the portions are huge! Seriously, if I was still a student here I'd be going here every week because I'd have enough food for three days. Now for the quality of the food... each dish was great. The chow mein, which included chicken and shrimp, was awesome. Seasoned nicely and not too greasy. The orange chicken, which looked and tasted a bit more like sweet and sour chicken (not mad about that!), was also very good and retained its crispiness. The fried rice, which is what my wife ordered, was good, kinda soy sauce heavy but it had a nice flavor overall. (Tbh idk why but I've never been a huge fan of fried rice).

Inside the restaurant, the ambiance is casual. I ordered the Juicy pork dumpling($10.99 ) and Milk tea with boba ($4.49). The dumplings were very juicy and a little sweet. That would be nice if they had some ginger slices and black vinegar for the dumplings. About boba tea, it's good. I prefer the tea to be stronger. Boba tea was warm, which means it's fresh, but needed more ice. They always serve in to-go containers. This place is good for friends, couples, and families. Parking is in front of the restaurant.

I wanted to grab something to go and the lady at the counter was very helpful w/recommending the chicken and broccoli (which was excellent) The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is because I kind of got a vibe from her when I went to pay, I didn't feel compelled to tip as it was a simple/quick 1 item take out order...she looked at the slip after I signed it and made a "hmmph" sound? I found that to be a bit unprofessional. Definitely rubbed me the wrong way! I'd recommend giving them a try, based on the dish I ordered as I said was excellent.

What an AMAZING restaurant. Hats off to you China Kitchen…read more First, the food -- China Kitchen has a diverse menu with high-quality vegetarian options that many competitors lack. The dinner combos are a great deal and all the side dishes were great - the egg roll was crispy and fresh, the shrimp was delicious, and the fried rice was well-seasoned, fluffy, and moist. The entrees were truly the star of the show. We got Ma Po tofu (traditional style) and dry wok veggie-chicken. The tofu was soft and creamy and the Ma Po sauce provided the sichuan numbing we've been searching for in Southern California. The dry wok was deeply flavorful. The veggie chicken was moist and savory and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. the ambiance - China kitchen was well decorated and elegant. The traditional artwork and attention to detail, down to the light fixtures made this a dining EXPERIENCE, not just a simple meal. The service-- Our waitress Ms. Vivian was warm, welcoming, and had a great personality! She frequently checked in on us and made us feel right at home. It was Ms Vivian's delightful personality that sealed the deal -- we will be coming back to China Kitchen soon. Thank you for a great dining experience!
