This restaurant is your typical Chinese takeout restaurant, only it has a dining room to eat in. Our server was very attentive, however, she didn't seem to understand a word that came out of our mouths. She constantly had to send another server to translate for us. The price for their dinner combinations were pretty reasonable at $7.95. It consisted of an entree, fried rice, and your choice of soup or egg roll. If I were a kid, I'd think the food here was delicious. But as an adult with a slightly mature palate, I wasn't that impressed. On my last visit I purchased about $80 worth of dishes. These included: Beef & Broccoli Shrimp Egg Foo Young Roast Pork Lo Mein Steamed Pork Dumplings Sesame Chicken Pu Pu Platter Szechuan Broccoli Nothing stood out to me here. Nothing was terrible but nothing memorable either. So my advice is if you have a takeout only Chinese spot near you, then stick with that. 2.5 Stars We ordered take out food last night and picked it up about 30 mins before closing. Unfortunately, both of the meals were very dried out, and neither of us ate much of the meals. We had food at this restaurant for the first and last time. It was easily top three worst Chinese food experiences. My guess is the food was cooked over five hours beforehand. This use to be my favorite restaurant but lately they have been getting cheaper and cheaper quality. I ordered Garlic Shrimp dinner special and received 4 shrimp in my entire meal. This to me seems extremely cheap. Why would I want a shrimp meal with only 4 shrimp and about 20 broccoli. My whole meal was rice and broccoli and 4 shrimp. Great food, love their Singapore Pancit. Only issue I have is that they have a delivery driver that smokes and you can smell it on the bag containing the food. I have not experienced that since I complained about. Otherwise, best food in this category in Great Bridge, that I know about. read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars. I get that it's a Saturday night but their standards for cooking are horrid. Raw food. And not just in one item that I ordered either. Pork that was bordering on still oinking. Their idea of "fried rice" is that of which I have never seen. At tastes even worse. It was rice colored yellow with a few veggies and raw shrimp mixed into it. Nothing about was fried. Their ONLY saving grace was that their sesame chicken was actually decent. That and the steamed rice were the only things they seemed to get right. The rest made up probably the worst meal I've ever eaten - or didn't eat for that matter. 80% of it went in the trash because it was raw or tasted horrible. I should have went to McDonalds, at least they wouldn't have messed up the "food" so badly. Steer clear of this place. read more

Peking II is the type of place that you don't find in abundance these days despite the large number of Chinese food places. Its an actual sit down restaurant with take out, instead of the other way around. Because its primarily a sit down restaurant, there's a certain charm to sitting and eating there. Diners who are familiar with Chinese and Japanese culture will notice that the decor is a mix of Chinese and Japanese. Strange really, but not to the unfamiliar. Peking started out as a sushi restaurant but didn't do well, probably because of all the competition nearby. Instead of folding, the Chinese owners went back to their ethnic roots and served Chinese. Enough history. Into the food. Peking's food is basic and good. Think of the corner take out that you might be familiar with if you're a New Yorker. Its good and fairly cheap. They have the typical line up that you'll find in most Chinese take outs, plus a nice list of "specialty" dishes. They also have specials on a board that changes every couple of weeks. Those are worth checking out if you're in the mood for something a little different. Come check out this neighborhood favorite. read more

Not only is their food very tasty, I experienced an exceptional customer service today, why I decided to submit a review. I accidentally ordered a wrong dish and I discovered this only when I arrived home and opened my bag. I called the restaurant wondering why it wasn't the dish I normally get and realized that I had ordered it incorrectly. They told me they would replace it, knowing it was my error, but didn't give me a hard time about it. I will always get my Chinese food from here even though there is one closer to my house. In the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake there are quite few Chinese restaurants. Peking is the best one IMO. Part of the reason why I like Peking so much as compared to the numerous other Chinese restaurants in the same area, is that they really go the extra mile in most respects. From the menu to even the interior of the restaurant itself, they just have more to offer than their competitors. Peking is not just a glorified take-out place. The dining area is fairly large, and the place is decorated very much in the style of old school Chinese restaurants. They even have a bar. It's a really a quaint and cozy atmosphere inside. I still have yet to eat in here personally, but I definitely intend to in the future. It's pretty common to see people eating inside, which I can't say the same for most of the other Chinese restaurants around. This probably doesn't matter too much to a lot of people who may be reading this, but I personally think it just makes the place seem a little nicer. It reminds of the way Chinese restaurants seemed to be like when I was a kid back in the 80's. The other big standout to me here is the menu. The menu here is one of the most expansive I've seen at a Chinese restaurant. Now if your the type of person who just orders General Tso's Chicken or some other common Chinese take-out fare every time, then this won't matter to you very much. However, if you're like me and you like to mix it up and try new stuff, then this place is awesome. There are more than a few items here that are most certainly not on the menu at the other Great Bridge area Chinese places, and some that I have not seen at any other Chinese restaurants in VA. I had never seen Wontons in Hot Oil, Yung Chow Fried rice, or Lake Tung shrimp on a takeout menu before coming here. Also, this is the only place (that I know of) in the area where you can get a Philly Cheesesteak spring roll; kinda trashy, but delicious. Again, this place has a lot of great stuff if you like to go deep into a Chinese menu. Let's talk about the quality of the food. On the whole I'd say it's above average for Chinese. I've been to other places where the quality was slightly better, but again this place is definitely a consistent "very good" for me. I think it's definitely the best of the Chinese options to be found in Great Bridge in terms of overall quality, although Taste of China, comes pretty close. Either way, I'd say Peking is almost on par with the legendary Kin's Wok in Ghent or some of the better places in VA Beach. However, neither of those places have Cheesesteak rolls. :) All in all, this is an awesome Chinese restaurant with a lot of stuff offered above and beyond the typical Chinese takeout joint. If you're in Great Bridge and want Chinese, this is the spot. read more

Usually you cannot get Pancit from a Chinese Food place so I had to try it! Everything was the right temperature when delivered and the veggies in the dishes were fresh. However, if I ever eat here again I will be sure to get my food to go because the dine in service was terrible. The woman that served us was rude and was rushing and there was barely anyone in the restaurant. I observed her service with other guests and she was so polite and took her time, but she was short and rude with me and the people at my table. I have looked for years for a good Chinese takeout place in the area. This place is hands down the best in Chesapeake. The food is consistently good no matter which dish I get. It's not greasy or stretched with cornstarch. The general Tao chicken is the best I've had in years. Tonight's house special soup had more ingredients than broth, and all were cooked perfectly.
