We came here because we wanted somewhere to chat until later in the night. I think this is a decent place for that since they close very late (midnight) compared to other restaurants in the peninsula. The drinks were not great, however. I got the Foxy Brown and it was insanely sweet, and the flavor did not appeal to my tastes either. My friend's drink was also too sweet with a very artificial flavor as well. Ambiance: If you like a chill aesthetic interior this is the place for you. It's a very nice place to hangout inside just like all the other locations! The couches are HOT PINK so it's definitely a vibe! Drinks: If you're looking for a good fruity drink, MANLY MELONS is my favorite. I get it half sweet or 75% and it's just the perfect balance of lychee with strawberry, mango, and a hint of watermelon. My favorite toppings with it are either lychee jelly or aloe. Lychee jelly makes the drink more lychee tasting obviously and a little sweeter which is good for when I'm craving something sweet and the Aloe brings out how refreshing and cooling it is. For the days you want something creamy and milkier the YUNG MUNGY definitely hits the spot. It's a pretty fresh mung bean drink that isn't too sweet and is extremely creamy. I either get this with no toppings or some egg pudding if I'm feeling extra. Came by here after searching for some late night boba when everywhere else is closed. Club like atmosphere, drinks came out fast and quite good. Only mistake was we forgot to ask for less ice because apparently this place loads their drinks full of it. The cup was about 90% ice, the pictures are of the ice left after 1 hour and 10 minutes later (took the pictures after we got home). Reminds me of the days at Dave and busters when the loaded their alcoholic drinks with ice and got in trouble with it. If your name is Elsa or an eskimo, then this place is for you! Got a Foxy Brown half ice half sweet and it's practically sugar milk. I can almost taste a hint of tea in it but that might just be my imagination. I don't want to imagine what 100% sweet tastes like. Edit: I also tried the Pretty in Pink at 100% sweet and it tasted like someone melted ice cream into a cup. I online ordered 3 drinks for pick up - Pretty in Pink, Yellow Mango, and French Chicks. I got a text and an email confirming the order, and then again saying my order was ready to be picked up. When I got to the store (20 minutes after I received the text saying my order was ready), I asked for my order, and they had no idea what I was talking about. They asked me to say what I ordered, and when I did they told me they were out of coffee and didn't have boba either. I originally requested that the mango stars be substituted for boba in the Yellow Mango. They asked what I wanted as a substitute for boba in the Pretty in Pink, so I requested lychee jelly, and they went ahead and put that in the Yellow Mango without asking me. 2 stars because the drinks I was able to get were good (although not really what I wanted), but otherwise I am not happy with my experience at Pekoe. Edit: When I got inside, I noticed a post-it on the register that said no boba until 11 AM (I ordered right when they opened at 10), but this was not stated anywhere on the website or communicated before I was notified that my order was ready read more

I have been going to Pekoe for years by now, and was so happy to see that they've opened up new locations! When you walk in, it's really apparent that it's not just the drinks that attract so much attention--the interior is aesthetic, clean, and has distinctive furniture. There's also a huge screen that plays EDM music videos, and the music that they choose to play is trendy and catchy EDM (at one point I even used Shazam to find out some of the songs). Pekoe's interior and vibe embodies the nightlife scene, making it a great place to even just hang out with friends. The staff are friendly, cool, and add to the energy of the place. There's also tons of parking in the lot that it's in so that's never a problem. Aside from all these external factors, their drinks are top-tier and difficult to compare to. They have many options to choose from, ranging from fruit teas to milk teas to coffees to slushes. There's also a variety of toppings to choose from, as well as different levels of customization. I'm always so torn by their array of choices that I almost always opt for their split-cup option so that I'm able to try two separate drinks--some of my all-time favorites include Pretty in Pink, Manly Melon, Pom Star, and Angela. There's no other place that makes their drinks as unique and as flavorful as Pekoe, and it's the reason why I continue to come back years later, often making hour-long drives in the process. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a place with a chill ambience to lounge with friends or just want yummy drinks! read more

The atmosphere and vibe from this store is really great. It's way more bigger than both of the other location store in San Jose. This is a really good spot for afterschool hangings or to-go. The highlight of the menu here that makes Pekoe distinct from other boba places is the inventiveness. I first visited this place because 1. It was a hot af summer day and I craved refreshment and 2. The descriptions of the drinks on the menu intrigued me. Somewhat unfortunately, there is no way to customize the sweetness of the signature drinks (though this is understandable because it would change the flavor). Other than the fact that my drink was therefore sweeter than I normally like boba tea to be - I tried the Pretty in Pink, at the suggestion of the employee - my overall experience from ordering to pickup and the actual drink itself was good. I'm not a particularly discerning tea drinker, I'll admit, but I thought the combination of ingredients in the drink was quite original and tasty.
