I want to give this place 4.5 stars. Everything is fantastic and the food / service / ambiance / people who go there / management can't really be complained about at all. Everything we ordered was really good. There's nothing on the menu that is bad tasting and we ordered so many different things that it became a blur. So on to the things I want to take note of: 1. The food is so darn rich and heavy especially if you don't order any vegetables or something acidic to cut the food. I think you really have to consider what you drink there at dinner. Super important in retro. 2. The experience is suppposed to be shared plates, tapas style which is to me a very interesting concept since when I think shared plates and Italian, I think huge plates with lots of pasta and lots of food. This is not the case. The sizes of the plates are not small but they're not big so the meal gets expensive real fast if you're with a bunch of dudes that eat like they just left the gym. Be prepared to spend $$$. I did have one tiny issue with a dish where we ordered seasonal fried squash blossoms stuffed with ricota and mine was cold on the inside. All in all, highly recommend when you're visiting Nashville!

This place was recommended to me when I was in town. My brother had been here and thankfully he was open to going again. Our server was great and gave us a lot of recommendations on how many tapas we should order per person and just gave his own recommendations of what he thought was good/what we might've been missing. My friend and I joke about driving back to Nashville just to eat here again.

We had wonderful service here on a Friday night as a group of four and sat outside on the uncovered section of the patio. We had reservations and got seated immediately. We were very glad to be outside, as it was a bit noisy indoors for my parents. We did have a bit of an issue with our silverware being dirty when we arrived, but not entirely their fault as we were outside. The vodka pasta was the star of the show. It was excellent. We also had the calamari and the seafood pasta, which were both delicious. We have ordered the polenta bolognese before and loved it, but it felt a bit light on the bolognese today. We also really enjoyed the Crispy Cauliflower Piccata. Overall, this is a fun spot to come with your friends with very solid food! A bit on the pricey side for portion sizes, but cool atmosphere and great service.

What can I say except it's all true? The hype isn't hype- this place delivers. Very few misses here just ranking personal favorites. Go with a small group and over order. Trust your server. Get extra bread. Have a cocktail. Get dessert. It's that kind of place.

We went on a Friday evening at peak time, it was packed. We had no wait because they were very efficient with their seating and service! Great energy/ambiance in the restaurant and fantastic food. Pasta is made in house and tasty. The staff is knowledgeable and patient when it comes to newcomers. It's Tapas style so be sure to order a few plates to share!

Pelato is a Brooklyn inspired tapas spot that is perfect for a date night! I believe it is a sister restaurant to Luogo which is one of my favorite Italian restaurant in Nashville. You can absolutely feel the energy when you walk into the place that gives you Italy vibe. Their food is amazing. I would recommend to get about 2-3 dishes per person. Cocktails were curated and prepared perfectly. They make their own pasta and it's so tasty. We started with the Butrata Crostini, meatballs, lemon pasta and every dish was amazing. The service was very fast and our server was so attentive and accommodating which made our evening very special.

Service was wonderful and food was great! I was honestly very skeptical when the waitress recommended the broccolini and it was truly one of my favorite dishes. The only thing that I left skeptical about is the fact that we were celebrating two birthdays at the table and they provided a sparkler wrapped in a napkin.. the sparkler was a nice gesture but the presentation could have been better for a restaurant of this level.

Pelato is super popular in Nashville right now, so I had high hopes for my visit. Sadly, I was SO disappointed. Firstly, no onsite parking downtown is always a con. Secondly, the indoor acoustics are overwhelmingly loud and it was difficult to hear my husband across the table. We ordered a couple plates per person, re the waitress's suggestion, but the only thing I'd order again is the garlic bread. We came to celebrate our second anniversary, which was acknowledged. However, the vodka pasta tasted like canned Alfredo with red pepper in it. The pork ragu was way too salty, and the arancini was too bland. I was expecting to taste the guanciale in the arancini but I did not. The meatballs were average, salty, and featured many strong Italian spices. The calamari was one of the better dishes. The peppers on top were a nice touch. I don't recommend Pelato at their price point for the quality. I've lived in Italy for a few months and even the worst fare there was better than my meal tonight.

Super busy but made it worth it when we tasted the garlic bread and marinara and parm dips. Waiter gave a good recommendation for the Campanelle Shrimp Limone. Small portions but felt stuffed at the end of the meal.

Empty plates: calamari, French toast and eggs bene-vic DEVOURED!

I had another lovely brunch at Pelato with the family today. We are starting to find our favorites and so I will share our latest rundown. My husband had the egg benedict (bene-vic) which he commented had perfectly poached egg and the pizelle underneath was way more yummy than a traditional English muffin. I shared the French-toast (but Italian) with our daughter. We both loved it. However, I do wish they would have a few brunch options for kiddos (like maybe a smaller portion of French toast or a plain pancake, basically less flare for their simple taste buds). The star of the show was (and will always be) the calamari. We get it every time we come. We love it "drenched" and it gets devoured every. single. time. I hope they never change it. Even my 5-year-old was begging for more. As far as drinks, we ordered (1) the frozen cocktail of the month, (2) the cucumber spritz and (3) the espresso old-fashioned. The cucumber spritz was light and refreshing on this 100 degree day. The espresso old fashioned has been my husband's favorite. Our server Ryan was nice and attentive but all the staff members that we interacted with were very pleasant. As far as photos, we inhaled our meal and left no crumbs and the photo is our evidence of that. Don't be like us...LOL...take your time. Enjoy every second and every bite and come back for more. We will.

I don't mean to sound dramatic, but the Chicken Parm and the ravioli were the BEST I've ever had. Here's what I've had here: Cheesy sausage stuffed bread 5 stars potato Croquettes 3.5 stars ‍ Stuffed mushrooms 5 stars Pelato Salad 3.5 stars Chicken parm - 100 stars Pelato ravioli - 100 stars Radiatori Vodka pasta - 100 stars little Italian gelato balls 3.5 stars Dark chocolate budino mousse 4.7 stars I review 3 restaurants per week on my IG Lillypulitzerstylist. Pelato is one of my TOP TEN NASHVILLE FAVORITES. Excellent service and ambiance. Perfect for a date night or with your girlfriends.

    Savanna M.

10/10 would highly recommend! The spot itself was super cute and clean. The service was phenomenal and the food was amazing! I'm already planning my trip back to try a few other items I didn't order. If you're visiting Nashville this is the place to go for a nice dinner or some fun drinks!

    Ziti Pasta and vodka sauce

You walk into Pelato thinking you've got it figured out. Italian food. Sit down. Order a couple plates. Eat. Leave. Not here. Pelato flips the script in the best way possible. It's high end, deeply authentic Italian, but served in a way that feels more like a night in Barcelona than Rome. Small plates. Shareable. Meant for conversation, for passing dishes, for that moment where someone across the table says "you have to try this" and they're absolutely right. We started with the pasta in vodka sauce. Rich, velvety, and dialed in. The kind of dish that makes you pause for a second because it hits exactly the way you want it to. Then the baked clams showed up. And look, I don't throw this around. Best baked clams I've had in 25 years. Not close. Perfect balance, perfect texture, just flat out incredible. The meatballs came next and didn't miss. Flavor packed, cooked right, gone faster than expected. Then the baked ziti. Big, bold, creamy. Pasta cooked exactly how it should be. Maybe could've used a touch more sauce, but that's nitpicking. Still a strong dish. The space ties it all together. Converted warehouse, right off the river, with a vibe that just works. It feels a little tucked away, a little like you found something you weren't supposed to. Parking's in the back in a paid lot, easy enough. Five stars. Not just for the food, but for the experience. This is the kind of place you go to enjoy the whole night, not just the meal.

We know why it's packed now. The interior is stunning, the service was on point. Professional and personable at the same time. We had the pleasure of sitting outside on a beautiful evening. This was so tender, sliced thin, and was a perfect bite with the chilled potatoes. The tuna tartare was equally as good, but the octopus stole show. The tuna has a burnt orange vinaigrette around the outside of the plate. It's more than just a garnish. Make sure you get a bite with the tuna. For dinner we had the bolognese, duck ragu, and braised short rib. All three dishes melted in your mouth. The duck was my favorite, I added a little whipped ricotta to each bite and it was just 10/10. For dessert I asked if they could make a pistachio martini, and gave them the ingredients. Their bartender hadn't heard of one, free poured it, and absolutely nailed it. The cannoli filling was too sweet and too thick for me. It tasted like thick buttercream icing. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer to start and some drinks. The appetizer came out promptly and was nicely done, with plentiful helpings of burrata and cherry tomatoes layered with balsamic pearls. The pearls have the appearance of caviar so it was a pretty and flavorful twist. Unfortunately, that was the end of the positives. Our dinner entrees included the chicken parmesan and grilled salmon. Both were overcooked and the salmon in particular (I asked for it to be rare in the center) was so throughly cooked it had a very grainy texture. The sauce was bland and the pasta overly soft. Service was pretty one-note as well, not rude but not particularly attentive either. Dinner ran $120 with tip including two cocktails and one beer. Really disappointing.
