Haven't received our windows yet but wanted to review our great sales experience with Ignacio from Pella. He responded right away to our online inquiry and was super helpful in answering all of our questions and figuring out the right windows for our remodel. He was also the only one out of 4/5 different window reps from other companies who came to our house and saw anything or measured anything in person. Even though we were remodeling and things were going to look different after the work was done he said it was still helpful to get a sense of what we wanted/needed for windows. This seems obvious but apparently not to all window reps! Everyone else just asked for the blueprints (which just called out sizes not styles we wanted) and the window schedule and treated us like another sale. And windows are a big deal and they are pricey! Last thing you want is the feel like you're juts at a deli counter when purchasing. Really appreciate Iggy going the extra mile for us. Terrible service by Pella. Bought a slider and it came with the seal broken and this service center ordered 3 sliders, call defective, didn't even check them prior to coming to my home and wasting our time. They were requested to do some quality control but didn't. The inside service staff, three ladies, extremely rude. No service here. Pella's quality has gone down the tubes. They never fixed it. The product is good. It is the install that is lacking. Too many people with no connectivity between and no one for the customer to call. Are they all independent contractors? The install was sloppy with sub quality lumber and messy caulking. I would suggest if buying product to hire another contractor for the install. read more

We needed service on some Pella windows we had installed 20+ yrs ago. One was broken by a prey bird one night (the outer pane) and several needed roll screen replacements. Our communication was with Aimee who was able to access our original order and help us through the process as some materials had changed over that time span. The technicians who evaluated and later installed were all top notch. One of them had enough Pella experience to help make sure we ordered and replaced parts that would work for our existing windows. We were kept informed of replacement timeframe and install. Frankly, I am surprised to see some lower reviews at all, but I guess things can go wrong for some people. Our experiences 20+ yrs ago and again in 2024 were all positive. We think the quality of their products has been fantastic and the majority of our roll screens are still perfect after all this time. If not for the claws of an indoor cat all of them would have stood the test of time. I would like to recognize Pella of Northern California and sales representative, Alex Adamis. My wife and I began the process for replacing windows and doors in our home. We contacted six different window companies, received multiple quotes, and met with several different representatives. When we started researching Pella, we drove to the Hayward location where they have windows and many of the doors on display. We met with Alex and were extremely impressed. We chose a wood clad casement series of windows, and the quality is outstanding. It matched the quality of windows that were nearly double the cost. The exterior and interior finish provided clean lines and had excellent finishes. I found our working relationship with Alex to be the most impressive. Pella of Northern California is a family-owned business, and the customer service is reflective of that desire to build a relationship, establish trust, and ensure customers are getting exactly what they desire. We met with Alex on multiple occasions. Alex and his dad came to our house to meet with our contractor. We did make a few changes along the way. This consisted of many phone calls and a few evening and weekend discussions. Alex was ALWAYS receptive, responsive, and understanding as to the big purchase it was for my wife and me. Do not buy Pella Windows! I had them installed in my house 6 years ago. They said they had a lifetime warranty. The windows are difficult to operate, weird configurations, and pieces of junk. Within 3 years a bunch of locks had failed. Ella said they would come out and inspect them for $159. After about a month, a guy came out and agreed that they were broken. So they wanted another $159 to order the parts and replace them. I ordered them myself and did the work myself. They charged me $25 shipping. This year, two of the windows quit working entirely. I called them to come out and they want $300 just to walk through the door! I ordered the parts and will do the work myself. Again they charge me for shipping. I have three Milgard windows in my house that were installed 16 years ago. When I had the first problem with them 2 years ago, a guy came out within 24 hours fix the problem and went away and there was no charge. I deeply regret buying Pella Windows! I am so positively impressed with Pella Doors and Windows and ALL the folks we've worked with at Pella here: sales reps, service technicians, reception, scheduling, EVERYONE. No one has been less than GREAT. We ordered Pella doors and windows for a pair of townhouses we designed and built in 2017-2018. Some of them are very large. The sales rep was so responsive and extremely helpful, including during installation. What a pleasure it was to work with them. Now that we've had tenants occupying the townhouses for a few years, a few adjustments and minor repairs have been needed. Every single repair technician, and I've dealt with 3, has been nothing short of excellent. The "older," more seasoned ones are really good at showing the younger ones the few things they have not already learned. Don't get me wrong - the "younger" ones, those who don't have decades of experience, are very good too - making the repairs, calling in the right parts, being respectful, courteous, helpful, punctual, good communicators, etc. The warranty covered the parts and the service charges have been reasonable. And the folks who answer your calls, schedule appointments, let you know ETA's are also excellent. They answer calls immediately. They respond courteously and in a timely fashion. During the pandemic with all the supply chain issues, every date they scheduled, they met. And the dates they set were not way far out. They say what they'll do and they do what they say. Which could be said about everyone of their folks. And, of course, the product, Pella Doors and Windows, is excellent. read more

I needed a couple of windows replaced. I had Pella windows installed years ago, so I made an appointment to have their sales rep evaluate my situation. Brian, the sales rep came to the house and knew what should be installed. The technician followed up to take measurements. Wilson tweaked a window which was not closing properly at no charge. Pella is an excellent operation. Their windows are a little pricey, but they last a lifetime and the employees are very professional. read more

I recently had to replace a Pella triple pane sliding glass door window. I called Pella Windows and they walked me through the process to ensure the window ordered would be the correct replacement window. When Service Technicians Al Castellon and Alberto Navarro arrived for the install i was impressed with how courteous, polite and professional they both were. They both were masked up the entire time due to the current Covid restrictions. They worked together as a team to remove and replace the broken window. During the install they noticed the sliding door needed an adjustment to allow easier operation. They quickly did that and adjusted my other sliding door for me at the same time. They both cleaned up and were soon on their way. Clearly Pella Windows & Doors is successful in part due to employees like Al Castellon and Alberto Navarro. Love my Pella windows and slider! We were renovating a house and I wanted to add more natural lighting in the family room. I went to the showroom in Hayward and worked with Mackenzie. She helped me pick out some windows and a slider. When she later emailed the quote, I realized that I was over my budget and she was so kind to work with me and help me get the same look I wanted and still stay within our budget. The delivery was timely and professional. My contractors had no problem installing the windows and door and they look SO BEAUTIFUL! I'm so happy with the quality of the windows and the slider is gorgeous! It's solid and sturdy and glides so nicely! My kids even commented on how much they love the door. First of all I'd like to start by saying the windows are fantastic. I purchased 11 windows and 2 sliding glass doors, and I couldn't be happier so far with the quality and the installation. 5 Stars for that. 3 stars because there were some delays on the production end. My guess is that Pella had a surge in orders due to some highly beneficial financing options (4 years 0%). 5 stars because the customer service is fantastic. Mishaps at manufacturing happen, and I'm very familiar with manufacturing issues being an engineer myself. Customer service was able to make the delays worth my while. Again, they have no control over manufacturing snafus, but they DO have control over how these mishaps are received and they succeeded in that aspect. No issues with communication, they kept me updated on progress through the delay, and the installers worked clean and professional. read more

We have pella windows that are over 20 years old and were installed by the previous owner. The bay window had developed a leak and one of the crank windows would not close. I knew I needed to repair these windows before el nino. I put off calling Pella for the repairs because of the terrible yelp reviews. Instead I call a slew of handymen and a couple contractors. Nobody wanted to touch the windows and they kept directing me back to Pella. Ugh. Finally, I gave them a try. Here is what I found: Pros: when they come out they ROCK. Our first visit was from Ken who repaired the bay window and actually taught me how he did it so I could do the same on other windows as needed. He also fixed the crank window. He recommended that I replace the hinge and explained how I could do that myself. I opted to have pella come out and do the repair. A few weeks later Al came out and replaced the crank. He did an awesome job, super fast and threw some extra handles in for free. Total cost for the the bay window repair and the hinge replacement with 2 service visits was under $300. Why had I been putting this off!?! Cons: They are not easy to communicate with. Between the phone and email, they repeatedly dropped the ball. For example, after the first visit I was told I would be contacted with a bid for the hinge replacement. They never called or emailed. I had to nudge them, twice. Then I signed the contract and sent it back by email, they never called to schedule the repair. I had to nudge them again, twice. Almost felt like they did not want the business. But then when they came out -- AWESOME. Bottomline: If you have Pella windows call these people. They do great work and a good price. Just realize you may have to be a squeaky wheel. read more

We just had our first experience with Pella (DKJ Associates) of Hayward. One of our mini-blinds broke and needed replacing (fortunately, it was still under warranty). We were told the technician would be out sometime during a 12 noon to 4 pm window. At 11:45, Ken called and said he was running early, and could he come by. I told him yes and he was there in 5 minutes. He was fast, thorough and professional. I mention Ken by name because a review from 2013 was very critical. That reviewer's experience was not ours. If we need service in the future, I hope they send Ken. read more

To be fair, I can't really comment on workmanship and service for this business because they have not contacted me. I went to the show room a month ago and talked to a nice young man who was not a salesman. I want to replace two sliding patio door doors and heard Pella was a good product. After several days I called back and two days later a salesman called me. I returned his call and have not heard anything back that was over two weeks ago. I called again and his voicemail full. I can't comment on window quality, but I can comment on how unresponsive the sales department is. I called in early January and requested for a local sales rep to contact me to get 9-window and sliding door quote. Tony Muljat sent me an email asking for details. I sent him a detailed description of what I needed and included the blueprint. I didn't receive a response. Last week I contacted the local showroom and spoke to Griselda. I provided her with all of the requested information via email (forwarded the email I previously sent Tony). She was very helpful and said someone would get back to me in 1-2 business days. I called mid-week to follow up and spoke to Griselda once again. She said she forwarded all the information to Tony. I called towards the end of the week because she said someone would then get back to me within a few hours. After calling several times during the week, she was very apologetic for the delay. If Tony can't do his job, perhaps they should have someone else do it for him. They should get 0 stars, but thanks to Griselda doing her job, they get 1 star. read more

We contacted Pella in Hayward last week. We had a leak, but it was clear that it was not the window. Maiyia, who diligently asked pertinent questions, sent Mike and Alberto to inspect and diagnose. An up-close look at the rust on the frame and they could ascertain that it wasn't properly primed and prepped before our painter painted it. This was one source of leaking. They continued to inspect several areas around the window and eventually found that the bottom edge of the window where it meets the wooden window frame wasn't caulked by our painter, causing another area of leakage. Mike and Alfredo persisted until they were satisfied that they found all leaks even though what they found was our painter's problem, not a Pella problem. They could have quit looking after finding the first leak, but they didn't. Their patience and thoroughness was noteworthy and so appreciated. Now we can go about repairing the leak area inside and painting the outside knowing that our problem is solved. We were in the best of hands. Pella stands for quality and its employees are the epitome of professionalism. Our thanks to all. read more

We had service tech Mike Barbic come out today to service our 8' slider door. The pulley that makes the shade go up and down broke. Pella corporate said it would take 3 weeks to order the part. Mike had the part in his van and left us with an extra in case it broke again. Because this was our 2nd repair on that Window Mike did not charge us for the visit. We were very pleased with his know how and professionalism. If you are thinking of Pella for your home do not buy them at Lowe's as you will have to measure the Windows yourself......call the pro's!!!!!!!! read more

very disappointed in quality of the doors and the service. My metal clad sliding door began to leak and the wood inside swelled so that I couldn't open it easily in the summer and not at all in the winter. They put me through a lot of steps to explain the problem and then wanted photos and then wanted measurements. After all was finally done, they came to the same conclusion: no warranty, too old a model. They quoted a couple thousand to replace the one sliding door section. As if I could do that on my meager income! I'm as stuck with this problem as much as the door sticks! I thought they were top of the line. I would never trust them. They don't stand behind their products or their reputation. Any other slider would work better! Warning: stay away from them. read more

When we had our Pella windows installed 20 years ago, Pella was an outstanding company. Their pre-sale service was excellent and their after sale support out of Livermore was what I had expected from a high end window company. They are now just a shadow of their former glory. I understand they had a bankruptcy and their new company is now in Hayward. Last year I had to pay their technician (Ken) $75 for a half-an-hour visit to tell me what I already knew, that their windows had very limited adjustment. Ken said he'll call me back with the name of a company that can work on their windows, he never did. Now that the rain season is coming soon, I called and explained my situation to Mia at the Hayward office on Mon. She said she was surprised but would text Ken to call me. No call. Spoke to Mia again on Tue and she said she'll text Ken again. Again no call. Called on Wed, got Mia's voicemail. Left her a message to call me back. No call. Spoke to Mia on Thurs and told her I would pay for a technician to repair the windows. But I wanted someone other than Ken (because he don't return phone calls). She said they don't do repairs, that I was on my own to find somebody that repairs Pella windows. I asked her if she knew anybody that installs or works on their windows, she couldn't give me a single name. Well, for some reason, nobody works on Pella windows in my area anymore. I spoke to 11 window installers, glass companies, and contractors. They all say it's next to impossible to get parts, or support from Pella. They all say they don't install Pella windows. I've purchased and had installed a number of other window brands in the last 20 years in several different houses. They were less "expensive" brands, but their service and post support was far away much better than Pella. In fact, I'm building a new home next year. Today Luis and Alberto, who are techs for Pella in Hayward, came to repair a window blind that hadn't worked properly for years. I just had never gotten around to calling for a repair till a few weeks ago. These 2 guys arrived early after I called the office to see when they could get here, and luckily they had already completed their earlier jobs for the day. They arrived and figured out the problem after some troubleshooting. Wouldn't you know it was a piece of broken metal 1/4 inch long that hummed up the mechanism!! So they replaced it, cleaned the window inside for me and showed me how I can clean it in the future. Five stars for courtesy, promptness, having the necessary little gizmo on their vehicle and putting away our stepladder when they were done. If you have questions or repairs about your Pella products, call them! Our warranty on labor was still good so we paid only for the new blind. BTW Lee Lee (so?) in their service dept. is also very friendly on quick to respond. read more

I used Pella to change all the windows in our condo, 3 window inserts and 1 double sided window (very long) for the living room. These are custom made windows. I'm satisfied with the quality of the windows but I'm not satisfied with the overall installation service they provided. - Nobody told me that I had to apply for a construction permit. They had to break the stucco outside to replace the living room window. On the day of the installation, their contractor told me that I needed a construction permit!! Any work done on the outside of a building requires a construction permit. I had to gather all the documentation (not a straight forward process) and go to the city hall in a hurry to get the construction permit so that they could proceed with the windows installation. Pretty stressful... - The construction permit cost $600 and was an additional expense. - They told me that I had to remove the blinds to install the window inserts and billed me $80 per window to put them back. Well... it turns out that they didn't have to remove the blinds. - Pella doesn't install the windows themselves. They make the windows and use a contractor to install the windows. This is fine as long as they take responsibility of following up with the work done by the contractor. But they actually asked me to deal directly with the contractor and schedule follow up work directly with them... - It took 3 months for Pella to make the windows. The installation is actually quick. It took a day. - The quality of the windows is good. read more

We had to replace an old single pane french door. All our windows and doors are Pella. Some older, some newer and we are really satisfied with their quality. The door measurements are everything else than standard. I walked into the Los Altos store and met Rick. After a short conversation he offered to come to our place and take the measurements. He brought all his sample binders, so we were able to see all these different options. He did a great job creating a door out of these multiple variables. He is working with an amazing installer, Fernando. The installation was a little tricky since we have an old iron cast railing on both sides attached to the outside wall. They were able to squeeze the door in between without removing the railing. This would have been a mess because the railing is bolted to the foundation. Now we have a customized new french door! Yes, it was pricey. But quality has its price! Thank you Rick and Fernando!! read more

We bought a house in Tahoe that has 25 year old Pellas. Because of these guys amazing service ( and Pella backing up products 25 years later) I will never buy anything else. The double-paned windows are rock-solid after 25 years, but because we had no heat tape on the roof in last year's astonishing snow, icicles broke two windows. The Pella truck arrived exactly on time. They repaired the windows quickly, and also repaired a few aging seals they spotted on doors. Yes, you can buy cheaper, cuter (or whatever gets your contractor a bigger commission) now, but I suspect in Tahoe you will soon wish you had Pellas. read more

Al Castellon the experienced service tech who came today was exceptional in his service, knowledge and customer skills. We had scheduled this service because of a minor problem with roll screens, but not only did he check and service every roll screen in our house, he took the initiative to check and adjust every sliding door, french door and casement window. We are astounded at how much he improved what we had previously thought were wonderfully operating Pella windows and doors. This is the 5th house in which we have installed Pella over the years and Al proved to us once again that Pella is the BEST! read more
