Inside, there were two rooms with large TVs showing Love Island, plus themed decorations and drink specials that made the watch party that much more special. There were 8 of us and it was not difficult to find a table of us all on a Tuesday night. The bartenders were friendly and efficient. I was told the quesadillas were good too! This establishment shares a parking lot with long time Lousiville staple diamonds and milewide brewing just off Barrett lane in a very popular bar scene in the Louisvilel highlands area. As soon as you walk in downtown his bright yellow establishment the inside ha a contrasting dark lit atmosphere like a movie theatre. That would be because it kinda is a small movie theatre. You walk in downtown heights a hallway filled with nostalgic movie characters and to the left is the full service bar and right in front of you is the seating section with a projector pumping out some of your favorite 80's and 90's cult hits. It was October when me and my buddy Jeremy came here so they was playing a Halloween favorite sleepy hollow. We sat down immediately and glanced at there clever drink menu all themed after cult hit movies and stars of the the two aforementioned decades. My buddy isn't much of a mix drinker so he went with a bourbon and coke. I was feeling nostalgic so I got one of the fun drinks. I ordered a cinna-bite drink (Tito's vodka, coffee and cinnamon). While we waited we browsed around checking out the very cool and nostalgic decor and went on the other side of the bar to check out the rental section to bring back all the nostalgic feels of combing through a blockbuster in our youth. Our drinks came out quickly and our waiter was super nice and helpful. It appeared they had some regulars there for a trivia night and he asked us if we wanted to participate but we had to be somewhere soon. But I'm sure it would have been cool to do. My buddy liked his beam and coke. Classic drink that's hard to mess up. My specialty drink was very good. I'm not a huge coffee guy and the cinnamon and vodka had very good and distinct flavors. Very tasty and potentially dangerous I guess because you would have no idea that drink had any hard liquor in it. Upon leaving I noticed they had a ghost busters hi-c ecto cooler (y'all remember those?) hard drink. When I come back I'll have to try that. I'm sure it's great as well. It was a Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival there were red velvet ropes going into the venue with our pictures displayed on placards, a nice touch. We used the upstairs space, the Loft which has 2 seat high top tables, 8 top round tables, couch settings for 6 to 8 folks scattered throughout the space. It probably can accommodate 100 to 120 folks. It is so professionally decorated with beautiful flower arrangements, tableclothes, gold placemats and creative, fun wall decor. We were able to hook our phone, with our playlist to their speakers via Bluetooth. The space is elegant and could not be more perfect for a festive gathering. We opted to use one of their caterers who offered a charcuterie board in addition to a selection of 4 additional appetizers. The charcuterie board included the following: Watermelon, Strawberries, Pineapple, Grapes Prosciutto, Pepperoni Broccoli, Carrots, Celery. Gherkins, Cucumbers Olives, Ranch, Fruit Dip Vegetable, Ham and Turkey Pinwheels Chicken Salad in Miniature Cups W/ Crackers Pepperjack Cheese, Smoked Gouda, Extra Sharp Cheddar, and Colby Jack Cheese Assorted crackers. We opted for meatballs, Benedictine sandwiches, quiche and turkey sliders as our 4 appetizers in assition to the charcuterie selections. The food was good. Couple of issues, the food was late being put out, they were still setting it up when our guest started arriving. I paid for food for 100 people, we had 80 guests and there was not much food leftover. If all 100 guest would have attended I fear we would have run out of food and that was disappointing. We were also told there would be a microphone for our use but it was not working and not available for our use. My daughter did the planning but it was pretty straight forward. The lounge is incredibly spacious, which made all the difference. Even with a full house, we never felt cramped and were able to move around easily and have conversations with everyone. The layout really flows well for socializing. The furnishings are comfortable and stylish, creating a welcoming atmosphere that our guests loved. The bar area is well-designed and accommodated our crowd without creating bottlenecks. They also have a great setup for live entertainment - the band had plenty of space and sounded amazing. If you're looking for a place to host a party where your guests can actually talk to each other (instead of shouting over noise and bumping into people), this is it. Our room, two queens with an accessible roll in shower, was huge. The living area was painted salmon, the beds were modest height, platform style, and the bathroom was deep fire engine red tile with a funky turquoise swirl sink platform. Saucy! Vintage faucets in the roll in shower, which was complete with a bench and well set up. The room also had a table and an accent chair. The rooftop restaurant/bar is another vintage charmer with two interior rooms and a large outdoor space. Cocktails are superb; sadly we didn't have enough time to eat. There is a jazz club on the first floor, with its own external entrance. It was a $10 cover one of the nights we were there but that is fine. This being NuLu, there are loads of bars, restaurants, and distilleries within walking distance. Staff was very friendly, and the valet drop off is conveniently in a wide alley off Market, so you don't have to deal with the bike lanes and street traffic.
