He was able to send out a handyman at my next available time, which was less than a week later. The handyman arrived at the time quoted, and we went over the job. He was very respectful of our home, removing his shoes without being asked. He did the job efficiently and checked in along the way, which helped because there was a little confusion about which light to put on the garage. That was resolved quickly, and we were all set. I would recommend Loyal Handyman as a reliable, responsive company that gets the job done right.

The main thing I really love about the Riverwalk is that it's a place in Chicago where someone can simply exist and vibe without the necessity of spending money. There is more than enough space to walk along the riverfront, take a seat, and enjoy the atmosphere. In terms of safety, there are more than enough "eyes on the street" as well as a visible police/private security presence. As with any high-traffic spot, use common sense, but other than a possible pickpocket, I don't foresee any issues. In terms of cleanliness, it is well-maintained, and I've not encountered any noticeable dirt, grime, or trash. I also really appreciate that the Riverwalk has both public bathrooms and is accessible! Accessibility needs no further explanation, and being able to wash up without buying an overpriced drink is worth its weight in gold. Another Yelper has compared it to the San Antonio River Walk and called out Chicago for having a shorter, less green "rip-off" of what one would find in Texas. However, I believe one should cast this comparison aside and judge the Chicago Riverwalk on its own merits. With that said... The final verdict: The Chicago Riverwalk is not your traditional, greenery-filled park. It is, however, a fantastic public space to take a stroll, have a bite, or just relax. Better still, while there is no shortage of tourists, it is an excellent destination for locals and visitors alike.

They send late fees for no reason with no explanation and one day I tried calling to ask why and representative who answered picked up the phone while laughing and asked me what I wanted. They have also charged me 6 different times for late fees for no reason and my building manager has had to call them to get it dropped. There is no reason for that even to happen in the first place. Lastly, what company in 2015 doesn't let you pay through your own bank? I bank with chase (like millions of other ppl around Chicago) There is no way I would ever set up direct billing with AUM because I would be charged for all sorts of random things. The worst part about it is you want to make an individual payment to them they charge you a $7.50 fee because it has to be be done on their website or mailed by check. They also don't accept credit cards over the phone! I'm sorry, but what is that shit?? Are we living in 1992? The staff at Skydeck Chicago were all very sweet and friendly throughout the experience. As you make your way up, you walk through a series of exhibits and fun facts about Chicago, which was a nice touch and made the wait feel more engaging. It really highlights what makes the city special. Once we reached the top, I quickly realized I had underestimated just how high the building actually is. When it was time to step out onto the ledge... I completely punked out! They tell you not to look down, but of course, your natural reaction is to do exactly that. There's a photographer ready to capture the moment when you step all the way out onto the glass, but truthfully, I couldn't make it all the way out. I gave it about 2.5 seconds of bravery before my fear kicked in! Even with my moment of panic, I'm still really glad I went. It was definitely an unforgettable experience and a fun way to challenge myself.

Spoiler alert: You need to bring your passport with you. I went in anyway just in case and when I got up to the 6th floor that's when I saw a sign saying passports were necessary. This info is not included in the interview confirmation online. There's lots of other helpful information--directions to the site; no parking available; masks required--but nothing about what you need to bring with you. Since they have the information in the application, you'd think they'd have access to some of the State Department systems for this purpose, and many if not most would have a photo ID, I don't think the requirement to bring a passport is a given. When I visited the first time (forgot my passport, remember?) the BP police-type officers (not the same as the folks at the security checkpoint) were not wearing masks. Awesome. /sarcasm There's no parking specific to this building. You may find street parking on Jefferson, a couple blocks away, but it will probably depend upon what time of day and it's paid parking seven days per week. There's a parking lot at 519 S. Clinton that you can use; as of 7-25-22, 0-4 hours cost $16. I used the Spot Hero app and got a space for about half that. My second visit here for my Global Entry interview went much more smoothly, chiefly because I remembered my passport this time, yaaaaayyy! I was resigned to be there for like an hour, figuring they'd be behind because people were late, and that there would be a ton of folks there. When I arrived there were just three others waiting, and one of those people was just a woman there with her husband for... idk. Moral support? I was about 20 minutes early (I'm never that early) and an officer came out to get us almost 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment time. As I expected, the interview took all of five minutes, and I could have shaved at least a minute off that time if only my fingers had been situated properly on the fingerprint scanner. In fact, I was done with my appointment before my scheduled appointment time. I'm really glad they're so on time with the appointments and I've finally got it done. Make sure to get there early with your passport and state-issued ID (yes, both).
