Scheduled a trailer hitch install for a Saturday. They only do trailer hitch installs Monday to Friday. Don't you think that would be a key piece of information to give to the customer? As a responsible yelper, I can not sit idly by and let this Pep Boys location get by with a 5 star review. I took my Altima here many a time for simple things: oil changes, etc. Then I brought it in to get my alternator replaced. That's when it all started. Within three months of getting it replaced, my car resumed problems similar to what I experienced prior to getting my alternator replaced. Just to be sure I went to AutoZone for a free battery/alternator check up and they confirmed their was a problem with the alternator. I took it back to Pep Boys to get replaced and they agreed to honor the warranty on the alternator. All I had to pay for was the labor. Everything seemed to be in order until I picked up my car. It started... but the lights were flickering and the a/c was blowing hot air. WTH happened? Is there no quality control?? Wouldn't you confirm the car is working before you call a customer out to retrieve it? So I had to leave it there to get it corrected. I am very patient person, but at this point, my faith has quite gone. When I picked it up the next day and paid, they said everything checked out. I didn't trust them, so when I drove my car out of the lot, I drove it straight back to Auto Zone to check it out again - and again confirmed that my alternator was bad. They didn't even replace the part, they just took it out and put it back in. Maybe I'm severely unlucky. I don't know. What I do know is that I'm driving a nice new car and I am taking it to the Infiniti dealership for service and repairs. read more

Avoid this place. Every time I try a walk in (3 times) I'm turned away. Once I was turned away before I went in. I decided to schedule an appointment and still got turned away. I mean really? Classic bait and switch! Got an online quote from "Chris" to replace brake pads and rotors. After dropping off my truck for the repairs, was called by store manager "Joe" that the quote couldn't be honored and the cost would be double. Contacted customer service - they pulled the chat and confirmed the quote amount. They said made a mistake, "leaving a few services off" which drove up the cost. The store wouldn't honor the quote - said it came from customer service, not them! They ALL work for pep boys, just pointing fingers at each other! End result - I picked up my truck still needing repairs. Never again, and I cannot stress enough the lack of integrity and accountability from this company. Stay away! read more

Bought tires at this Location on Harwood in Bedford , Texas, left the place a week later my tires almost fell of while driving on the highway. Toolkit back they fixed it eventually. Because my tires are under warranty and rotations are free, I brought it back recently for a simple rotation of the tires. These guys BOTH times forgot to do something as simple as make sure the lug nuts were on the tire!!! Terrible customer service, even worst technicians!! Where do they find their mechanics, that can't even. Put a tire on properly?! I'll NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!!! I advise you to do the same! Go to Discount Tire right next door! read more

I wish they had an option for negative stars! This place sucked Balls! I went there on Monday, at 3pm. I was told that they were too busy and I could make an appointment for the next day. So I did and when I got there the following day, they had no idea who I was. I asked if they would replace a burnt out tail light, me thinking they would only change me for the bulb ( yes that was an ignorant assumption ) they changed me $121 dollars in labor to put in a f-cking light that took two minutes to put in. For the store I give it four stars for their help. Came out and swapped battery for me. Wish they had more than one option on the battery. The staff in the store was great. The store said the service side would check that my alternator was working correctly real quick for me. He walked over and let them know I was coming over to get it checked after spending $200 on a battery. Then the service side told me twice it would be a while, like 45minutes. They then proceeded to recommend I go over to O'REILLY auto parts to get it tested. Do you know all that had to be done was to pop the hood, hook up the handheld tester, start the car and press a button. The total process maybe took 2 to 3 minutes. Guys...really...it would have taken less time than checking the tire pressure on 4 tires. I would have left with a good experience. Instead, this was the experience I had. read more

I felt so bad now. My husband bring my car to Pep boys shop to fix the breaker Wednesday.We paid $500+. When we drove back my car show on my babrry have problems. So we called them and asked them why have this problem? We have this problem since we got car from there. They said drive back to let them check. We drove back Friday noon. They said babrry charger have problems. So we paid $600+ fixed it. But when we got car no air conditioner anymore. We asked them they said they don't know? What's I can say? How I do? I really want to kick that person. If you want to make money, don't have to make too much trouble to us and spend so much time still couldn't fix. This shop should be closed it. Never ever!! I know there are allot of negative reviews here. But my experience, although difficult, was handled with care and in the end worked out ok. My case was pretty crazy. Went in for engine miss-firing. They worked on it Wednesday and into evening Thursday. Got a rental car on Wednesday and since they were going to take longer than the afternoon, I had to extend my rental car longer. They helped me with the rental car because they had problems fixing the issue. So got the car back Thursday, had to go back again right away Thursday night after turning in the rental because the coil had to be recognized by the car's computer and they were not talking. So Friday evening on the way home, the car starts acting up again. Take it in Saturday morning and they work on it for another 4 hours. I take the car for a short drive and it starts acting up AGAIN. At this point I could have been furious, but the strangeness of automobiles these days is something I don't understand. So I had to wait until Monday morning when the Master Tech came in. This time they diagnosed the issue as a major computer component has failed and will be $1500 to replace. However, they promise to refund the previous money spent towards this repair. By some grace of GOD, I find out the part is covered under an extended warranty I bought when I got the car, but Pep Boys still refunded the work and sent me on my Way! I will be back. read more

We have been taking our vehicles here foe the last year and have always come across polite and knowledgeable people that will try to take care of the vehicle even if there is considerable work that needs to be done. Jason, Eric, and Chris have been helpful & considerate in cost when you find yourself having to put forth more $ to keep vehicle and to have it in good condition. The last time I went to this Pep Boys location was about two years ago. I swore to myself I would never return...EVER. However, browsing the internet for deals, I came across Pep Boys and they had a great promotion buy 3 tires and 4th tire is free. Plus, I needed new brakes. Same day browsing the internet, I went over to Pep Boys with the expectation as before poor customer service. To my surprise I spoke to the most knowledgeable, confident, kind and yet caring service guy named Braden McDonald a.k.a Trusting Eyes. One of the biggest frustration for women is going to get their cars fixed because of the fear of being taken advantage of by the men that work over the counter. Women, let me tell you, with Braden McDonald you have nothing to worry about. Braden McDonald and the mechanic crew of Pep Boys are providing amazing quality in their work , fast service, and engaging. Big difference from my last visit and I like it!!! I asked them to fix my headlight and fog light. They said because of the fog light it will take an hour. An hour goes by and I go back and get my car. When I get home I notice that my fog light is not fixed even though they said that is what would take them so long. When my mom went back an hour before closing they wouldn't fix it-even though I am unable to come back tomorrow. Will not be coming back. I'd also like to note that while I was in there I heard them say when they're busy or don't want to answer the phone they just leave a customer on hold until they hang up. I went to Pep Boys for an oil change. The reason I chose them is on their website they advertise a tire rotation as part of the oil change package. Took my car in they said it will be 45 minutes to get to it. I took a walk to a nearby restaurant and returned about an hour later. My car was up on the rack. I thought to myself good it should not be long now. 45 minutes later no one still looked at my car. I went up to the desk and ask them what is the issue? my car has been there for 45 minutes. It takes five minutes to do an oil change. I'm waiting here can you please let me know what is going on. 25 minutes later my car was finished and backed out of the garage. Went up to the desk to pay and I asked "did they rotate the tires." The man looked me In the eye and said "yes". I paid. i looked at the paperwork indeed on the paperwork it said that they did rotate the tires. Went out to my car looked at the tires they were NOT ROTATED. I was out of time went back and told the gentleman the tires were not rotated I'm very pissed off and I'm out of time and I left. So it took 2 1/2 hours to do a five minute oil change and they " forgot" to rotate my tires. This is the second Pep Boys that this has happened to me at. I will no longer go to Pep Boys for anything. I highly doubt they used mobile one which is what I paid for. I am recommend you go anywhere else. read more

I was Quoted $400 for the repairs to my starter but ended up paying $565. I was told that when the $89.99 Diagnostic was done and if anything was found that the price for this would drop to $16.99, it didn't. I was charged $89.95. I have always paid $25.00 for a 6 mile tow to the shop, this time it was $49.99. $202 for parts and $345.98 for labor and I once again get the added bonus OF GREASE ON MY FLOORBOARDS!!!! I don't mind paying the bill, what I hate is the not being honest upfront. I could have had my brother install the starter. I budget my money $165 is a big difference in price. read more

Took my Honda Civic in about an a/c issue, it was not getting cold. After about an hour they said I would need a new air compressor. Quote was over $650! I took my car to a smaller self owned mechanic and he said all the compressor needed was a few replacement parts. Fixed the issue for $258!! No new compressor needed. Wonder why these so called "experts" couldn't do that? Chris at the desk was a nice guy but this place is another big chain garage that wants to rip you off if you don't know anything about cars. Back tires were great - no one tried to sell me more than what I needed. They ordered my two tires, called when they came in and installed them. Chris, Jason and Barry were GREAT! The service department is a scam. I took my car in immediately when my check engine light came on. They ran a diagnostic and stated it was a quick fix. The mechanic stated he was "1000%" sure this would fix my car. $600 later, I left and head out for Christmas vacation. About 2.5 hours in to the trip, the same issues occurred and the check engine light came back on. Once I got home, I took the car back. Day 1 when I dropped it off they did not even driver the car. Day 2 of dropping it off they stated it was a completely different issue and wanted another $600-$700. Do not trust this place. There are too many options in the area to risk being robbed by this establishment. read more

I received the best service ever from the nicest people at the big PepBoys on Harwood Rd. My car died with what I thought was dead battery (classic symptoms) and after we got it started with cables, I took it to Pep Boys expecting to have a new battery installed. Because it was Sunday, there were only two mechanics, who were both busy with other customers, plus Cary, the front desk guy. So Cary hooked the battery up to their test machine and said all the stats for the battery were fine, alternator was fine, and starter was fine. He then said he'd check the posts to see if they needed cleaning, which he cleaned both of them with this neat little hand held gadget till they shined. It started first time and has restarted several times since then. In addition to going the extra mile to fix my car, he didn't charge me anything! Life is good and I will continue doing business with this Pep Boys. read more

Harassed by lead mechanic on a slow day when I showed up at my scheduled service time. Apparently I did not follow the correct procedure of going into the store and speaking with a service rep before pulling up to an open bay. I did have a reserved time, there were no cars currently being serviced, there were 4 mechanics in the garage doing absolutely nothing, but I got treated to a lecture on proper car drop off proceedure because (apparently) I should be old enough to know how it works. Maybe it was just a guy who needed to feel some control and not a reflection of the locations staff. But they will not get another chance from me. read more

Literally the worst customer service ever. I bought all new tires at a different pep boys location not even a week ago and got a drill bit stuck in my tire. Took them 4 hours to plug up my tire. After about 3 hours of waiting I called them and they had not even started on my car (originally told me it was about a 1.5-2hr wait) Not even to get me a new one even though I did have warranty on them. FOUR hours!!!! That is so ridiculous. Also I had to wait a whole day of getting my tire fixed because the technician left 2 hours early the previous day. They blamed it on being "under staffed" except when I got it done the next day there were 5 technicians working.. Point is I will never be back here. Don't waste your money OR time here and go to discount tires. read more

I needed an oil change and my car was overheating, I also have horrible shaking on my front passenger side tire. I made an apt for 8am, I was there at 8:10am, there were 3 ladies ahead of me. 2 of the ladies were taken care of right away, the lady directly in front of me was told she would have a 45 min wait, she left stating she had to get to work before that. I was told there was a 4 hour wait for them to look at my car, can I come back at 12? Why? I had made an appointment, there were only 2 of us with appointments on the list. Okay, fine. I returned at 11:30. I waited till 2:30 before I asked if my car was going to be taken care of. Was told yes just a few more minutes. Then watched as a mechanic came in looked at all the slips of cars to be serviced, told the guy at the desk that all of these have been finished, they need to call these people and grabs my keys, stating he didn't even know about my car being next! They need a better system. So I waited another 1-2 hours for them to diagnose my car only to tell me all I need is an oil change! Since they diagnosed my car they found another issue with my exhaust but I will have to wait to get that fixed. They never did look at my tire, which is very annoying since I waited so long. I just wanted to leave with my 6 yr old who was out of patience the same as I was. I will not be returning there anytime soon! read more

Swung by the Pep boys in Irving a few months back due to my car making noise and they advised I needed new struts. Took my car in last week (26FEB) to Pep boys in Bedford and told them this and left car to have struts replaced and asked for Serpentine belt to be replaced due to steering making noise. Pep boys advised there were 2 belts so I told them to replace both. Got a call on the 27h that the car was ready the struts had been replaced. Asked about belts and they said they were not carried over to the work order for the tech so they weren't done. I advised I would leave the car there until that was done. Got a call the next day and all things were complete/went and paid 841.17 for all work. Drove car off and went back to work...the first dip I hit I noticed the noise was still there...had gotten worse. Took back and left car to have them find out what is wrong. Called and said it was bushing...they sprayed them with a special lubricant and that I would need to get them replaced along with Other stuff that they would go over when I got there. Went to pick up car and they advised that the noise was "almost all the way gone" and to come back in a week or so if it was worse and they would regrease the bushings. At this time I was told that I needed to replace the 1/ hard bushings/2/Lower control arms-front/3/sway bars front and rear/4/upper control arm rear/5/and what looks like on the suggested sheet 5/toe bar on rear- ( I don't have a tow bar on car). Advised they would call with an estimate-have never hear back-they would also try and work with me on the cost due to never advised during the strut replacement/or eval. that what was actually making the noise was not the struts at all but the bushings and other thing....or I would have gotten them replaced 1st. Very upset that car still makes the same noise-though I was advised verbally and via the technician that the noise was not there anymore. I told them from the beginning that it is very loud and noticable when you drive over a speed bump of a dip....and I don't believe that they ever test drove it or they would had heard that the noises are still there. read more

Im a retired/disabled former Police Officer raising two kids on my own living on disability. On 12-04-18 I took my vehicle to the new Pep Boys service location at Harwood Rd and Martin Drive for "Preventative maintenance" before I planned to take a road trip this weekend. They were going to do a transmission flush (with screen cleaning), change differential oil and fuel line clean. I paid $480 dollars for this. My vehicle is in excellent condition and I have NEVER had any problems with it. I picked it up that afternoon, drove home and parked it in my garage. The next morning I left to run errands and a "powertrain malfunction indicator" light came on. I contacted Pep Boys and returned to the shop. The Manager was extremely rude and refused to admit that they had possibly done something wrong. The mechanic checked for codes and found a code that said "the performance module" in the converter was stuck. The manager then gave me the number to the district manager. After speaking to him I returned to pep boys, but before I got in my truck in my garage I noticed some kind of oil on my clean garage floor. I took pictures of this. When I went back to pep boys the manager offered me a refund on the transmission flush, it was then that I learned from the mechanic that that dont actually do a flush, they remove the old oil and replace it with new oil. The mechanic said he didn't clean the filter screen because they are not Certified Transmission mechanics (even though my bill showed the screen cleaning). Even the manager said before the flush included that but changed his story after. While talking to the mechanic I activated the voice recorder on my apple watch. I recorded him making the statement about how they did the "flush" and how the screen wasn't ever cleaned. He also told me how the manager constantly yells at them and customers and that they have received a lot of complaints about him. They said that he broke something on a customers Lexus last week and blamed them (the other mechanic made the same statement). This manager was the rudest most aggressive store manager I have ever dealt with and I was shocked! I spoke to the district manager again and was told to take my truck to an AAMCO transmission shop and they would cover the cost to do a proper flush and transmission service. I went to the closest AAMCO and they were too busy. So I called the District Manager back and asked if I could take it to Eagle Transmission in Colleyville. He told me no that it was their policy to only send vehicles to AAMCO. I then told him that I would just take my refund and go to Eagle. I was told to go to the pep boys at Harwood and 121 to get my refund. When I was there the Assistant Manager told me as well about all of the complaints they receive about the manager from the other location and apologized. When I arrived at Eagle and told the manager what the Pep Boys District Manager said, he laughed and said that the Bedford Pep Boys at Harwood and 121 have been sending Eagle their transmission work for years and still do! So the District Manager lied as well. Pep Boys is obviously going down hill! The deception and failure to correct a problem they created is sickening! I plan on providing a copy of the conversation with the mechanic and the recorded conversation with the District Manager when he lied about AAMCO, to every local media that might be interested in this. I wouldnt use Pep Boys to fix a flat now! I am awaiting word back from Eagle to find out what kind of damage Pep Boys did to my vehicle! read more

If any of you out there have been use to going in this establishment and getting helped and treated like her family by the sweet lady that's named Bama don't bother. What you will get is just the girl named Teresa who rather put on make up and flirt with all the guys then help any woman. When I experienced this type of service I was appalled when I found out the guy she was flirting with is Pepboys district manager, shows what kind of company this is. Since my husband owns his own race car I'm having to pick up parts alot. It was so refreshing going to see Bama. She always helped me so much, I would literally go out of my way to go to her. But for all of you who still wants her help I tracked her down. Found out the district manager that was flirting fired her, guess Bama didn't flirt enough! You can find her at the competition Oreillys doing what you might ask, well running the store. Take your business to the company that doesn't expect the women that they employ to degrade themselves for the job. Unethical, unethical, unethical. This location has is so ridiculously unethical it's amazing. Purchased a set of 4 tires with road hazard protection. 1,000 miles on them and one needed to be replaced. Get it replaced and they initially wanted to charge me a 50% premium on the price of the original tire. If I only paid originally $75 for the tire how could the new tire cost $121 if I'm covered on the warranty I purchased. Then they said they made a mistake and came up with $88. Again I asked how the new tire could cost me that much if the tires have a 100,000 mile warranty and I've only have 1,000 miles on them. Then they came down to $66, then $60. It was like musical chairs. Don't go to these guys they don't care about retaining customers. Inside there shop area they have a big sign on how much revenue they made for the day and their objective. They only care about generating revenue and overcharging customers. read more

great, efficient service! the technician was very honest and didn't create a list of other things to be fixed, which is so often the case at car repair places. my resolution ended up being much simpler - and much cheaper - than I was expecting. note: be sure to allow enough time to get checked in, even if you have an appointment. dropping off my car versus waiting in line to drop off my car are two different things, & I didn't know to build in extra time for this. just a word of caution if you're on your way to an appointment. read more

Would never recommend this company to anyone. Had to take same truck back 4 times within 3 weeks for same repair, to this day the repair is still not fixed. Took 1997 Mazda Truck in for check engine light, after the dropping truck off was told it wouldn't be looked at for 2 days, got the phone call of diagnoses and was upsold extra parts to avoid paying the diagnoses fee. Within 30 minutes of picking up the truck and driving it less than 10 miles the check engine light came back on. Took truck back only to find out that the technician didn't plug in a part completely. 2 days later check engine light came back on. We have been back and forth dropping off the truck , making ride arrangements being inconvenienced and losing full confidence in mechanics. Asked for refund on repair that was never completed and obviously Pepboys isn't capable of fixing, only to get excuses as to the reason they wouldn't refund money and cannot fix it. The final reply was we will get an engine diagram to attempt to locate the problem. we are talking about a check engine light that is coding for a simple sensor. Not sure why "professional" mechanics cannot solve this issue. Will never use this company for as little as light bulb. $350 lesson learned. NEVER AGAIN. read more
