Terrible experience. I made a 9am appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. I showed up at 9 and waited until 10 before I decided to leave without the service. When I asked why They had taken two customers, neither of whom had appointments, ahead of me they just said that they were short staffed. If you have half a day to wait on an oil change and tire rotation, feel free to make an appointment. If you just show up, however, maybe you'd get faster service. Lemmon has a zillion car maintenance places. It's a wonder how this place stays open! read more

Do not use these guys! I dropped my car off for oil change and engine check up in early July. They billed me and I realized they never actually changed my oil. I tried to bring it back early august and I called them multiple times but they didn't answer. So I came back later that day and was told they couldn't change the oil that day (frustrated because I called 5x to get that confirmation, but had to drive to the store for them to tell me that because they don't answer the phone. I brought it back yesterday I late august and came back to pick it up 24hours later. they never touched my car and left it outside unlocked... The tech lied and said they checked the oil but they did not. I'm now waiting for the to just change the oil after my 3rd time trying with these guys.... read more

After months of going to different shops to get the damage fixed that was both improperly and not addressed when I took my car here, I ended up having to get an entirely new car. They made the problems worse and used incompatible parts for my engine. It leaked coolant all over my engine and my engine overheated and had to be towed back to their shop after the first visit. My experience with Pep Boys is TERRIBLE in TX The NW Hwy location JOHNNY MONSIVAIS is a liar and the Arlington location Brandon is unprofessional He lied after I got a service done of MAF The part was messing up after 1 month and I went back in after diag done he said no it's your manifold it has an air leak you got the wrong bolts in there and oil leak Lie the correct bolts were in the manifold and no oil leak so we went to Arlington and car did same thing again so we took to Pep boys there and he said MAF so he called Johnny and was fussing with him because he didn't want to do it so Brandon asked me if I wanted to tow it to other shop That's crazy!!!! I'm like no sir it's under warranty fix it here So he said we can't until Monday No problem I'll come back then please call me before you put part on Not sure when but ok I'll Check back on Monday 8am my car was ready I'm like wait I asked you to call me to verify that you're actually doing the job So I get to shop and ask for documentation to say it was exchanged NOTHING No proof Well it was done is what he said So I leave in my vehicle and it completely stops in rush hour traffic middle of intersection Omgdnss!!!!! Really sir Drive it in and now gotta tow it home How is that possible!???? Let me start by saying I came to this location in October of 2016 when it was a Just Brakes location and the owner assisted me in replacing my rear brakes. He was very professional, prompt, and confident in everything he told me. I was driving around town running errands today when I heard my brakes grinding a few times. I immediately turned around and drove to the Just Brakes location I went to in October of 2016. When I got here I quickly noticed that it is now a Pep Boys with an entirely new staff. You walk in to an empty room and this loud bell goes off. After 5 minutes a man comes in from the garage and asks, how can I help you? I tell him my brakes are grinding and I had my brakes done at this location the previous year. He immediately asks me for my receipt because they have no record of my previous visit. There is supposed to be a warranty on the brakes I previously purchased so that worries me. Lucky for me I had the receipt. I hand him the receipt and he asks me for all my information so he can add me in to their new system. He says they can do a brake check for free and it'll only take 30 minutes. I hand him the keys and he drives the car to the back. Now keep in mind there is only one other car being serviced and they have 4 people working in the garage. At least 45 minutes goes by and one of the techs comes out and lets me know my back brakes are fine but my front brakes really need to be replaced. I asked him if it can wait till next year and he said it's pushin it. I told him I was not ready to replace them just yet though. He tells me he will finish inspecting the brakes and get it back out shortly. Another 45 minutes go by and another tech flags me down and says your front brakes were not that bad, they are halfway gone and we can get them replaced for $473.00. I told him that's to much then he says I can do it $400 out the door. I still told him I still can't at the moment. He says ok we will get your car right out. Another 20 minutes go by and still waiting. Remember I only came in for a brake inspection. Just an fyi after observing everyone for about 2 hours, everyone at this location is all over the place. They are nice, but no organization whatsoever. A third tech calls me to the checkout counter and she has me sign something saying I'm declining to replace the brakes today and she said your quote will be at the bottom of the page for reference. I get the paper and it's another different quote this time, it's for $413 and some change. I ask her where is my receipt for last years service and she says oh! Let me go get it, I'm so happy you reminded me! That is one paper I do not need to lose. It took almost 2 hours but my car was finally brought out and I quickly drove off. This location previously took excellent care of me when it was Just Brakes. Now that it is Pep Boys and the staff is completely different, I do not feel comfortable returning to this location. I definitely do not recommend getting your vehicle serviced here based on what I experienced today. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. The employees are rude and incompetent I needed a turn signal light changed. Usually a quick job. I made an appointment for 2 pm. I show up about 5 minutes early and am told they "will be right with me". 15 minutes later they finally check me in and I'm told they should be able to get it done within 30 minutes and they'll call me. More than an hour later, no call. I walk back and am told "we will be with you shortly". Another 10 minutes they come out and tell me they haven't started. He's not apologetic and appears like he doesn't give a f. Some guy that came in after me had an oil change, brakes aligned, etc and was done before me. Sounds like he was t happy with their inability to diagnose a "grinding sound" problem. I've used multiple pep boys in the past in other cities and was never treated like this. I visited this location because the dashboard tire lights of my ancient Yaris were on and I suspected a puncture somewhere. Randolph took great care of me by checking all 4 tires thoroughly. He didn't find a leak but noted that there were some pebbles lodged in the rim of one of them. After informing me, he went ahead to clean everything out and filled the tires back up. Now it's driving as good as new! I'm particularly impressed with the level of service I received. To be honest, I started off with some initial reservations after reading the other reviews posted here and on Google. However, Randolph was honest, genuine, respectful, and, most importantly, acted with integrity instead of cooking up random excuses to make a quick buck. He has won my respect and pretty much guaranteed I'll be back here for my vehicle maintenance needs in future. I'm sure we can all agree that our cars are incredibly important here in Dallas and, being rather mechanically-challenged, I'm so glad I've found a place I can fully trust with mine. read more

Had an appointment for 11am on a weekday. Simple service, needed a tire checked to see if there was a hole. Was told it should take 2-3 hours to get it in. I called after 4 hours and was told it should be pulled in within the hour. 2 hours later I was told it was next in line. I ended up having to pick it up at 630 pm (11 am appointment) with the work incomplete because I needed it. They were very apologetic, but poor communication on delays for a very quick easy job. I booked a same day appointment knowing I might need more than just the oil change and rotation that was due according to general service schedule recommendations. I received really competent and hospitable customer service. Randolph handled my cars intake, and we discussed how I might need an alignment, which I wasn't surprised to hear, after he'd taken some tread measurements. Alignment, okay sure. Lifetime alignment?, lifetime balance?!both for an extra charge? Yes, actually, only because of the excellent customer service I received. The bald manager is a giant douche bag, Stefan is nice but completely clueless, and the mechanic is rude and yells at customers while reeking of onion. They wasted TWO of my full days after charging me over $1000 for shit I didn't need but they wouldn't budge. They told me it'd take 2 hours and to just hang out across the street. I did. 3 hours later, no phone call. I called them and they said "oh sorry we forgot the parts another 2 hours." Ok why didn't you call us and let us know? They knew we were freaking sitting there waiting with no car but didn't care. We finally got a freaking cab to go home since half of our day was wasted on these idiots, and they call to say its ready in ten minutes. We get a ride back up there and STILL had to wait over an hour. LITERALLY. MY. ENTIRE. DAY. Now the fun part: THE CAR IS WAY WORSE THAN BEFORE. Like loud, grinding, squeaking, incompetent brakes that barely work. So here I am again, waiting for them to just fix what they fucked up. AND THEN the stupid mechanic had the audacity to start yelling at me because I told him how messed up the car is. So I'm waiting in the lobby. Right now. I immediately went to the dealership down the street to have their mechanic confirm--which they did. They confirmed Pep Boys overfilled my crankcase. I had to go back 3 times to finally get my money refunded from PepBoys. As I was there, the guys pointed out that the lugnuts including the one with the key, was missing from the tire that I bought from Pep Boys. PEP BOYS LET ME DRIVE AWAY WITH JUST ONE LUGNUT ON THE TIRE!!! I am a female with very little knowledge that went in there trusting that they knew what they were doing! I was explained that the tire could've popped off, messed up my axles and I would've put myself and others in danger. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!! And I will never go back again. Sent my daughter there for oil change and new tires. It took multiple calls and trips to get it completed. With scheduled appointments I was expecting maybe two hours. It took two trips and a total of about 8 hours. They are better than a 5 min oil quik lube kind of place but wow are they slow and sloppy. Breaks started squeaking daily after just 2 years. This was the cars first break job since factory. I brought it in and apparently they stopped using those pads because they had "issues". They "generously" took of around 12% off as a "warranty" but still wanted me to pay.. $$ for obvious reasons they dont want you listing numbers. Lets just say they wanted about a months rent. I took the car to a real mechanic which still cost less then their "warranty work" and it turns out that my rotors had been so poorly machined during their break job that I would have to replace all four, that poor job was also the reason for the incessant squeaking. It is not unusual to have to replace rotors but these had never been turned before they got them and they grinded them to an absurd level and used faulty pads. To add insult to injury I asked them not to use my email for marketing, didn't stop them from spamming my inbox with constant requests for a review... well you got one. read more

This by far was the most fun I've had. I call around 6:19 pm trying to get off work but had to make sure a deadline was good. By the time I was headed there I'm seeing my eta to be around 7:00 pm. I had called earlier and Randolph said they were going to take of my by the time we head home. Pep boys was the only place I could find open after 6. They close at 8. So I'm head that way as fast as I can. I get there 7:00 on the dot. Nobody was in the front and when I headed back some mechanics were headed home. I asked and they said the manager will meet me soon. Randolph came out. Had an X-5 come in and delay him because he was asked for a service preformed it on the spot then headed to finalize my oil change. He started the process and by the time he checked inventory they were out of my filter. I appreciate Randolph's great attitude over so much adversity and delays. Can't say I'll come back because this pep boys was chosen that day strategically because it was on my way to the place I was headed. We laughed it out.
