I headed over there and checked my SUV in with Kat, a friendly and talkative Cashier. She said, the wait would be about 45 minutes. She told me where the waiting room was and where the bathrooms were. My vehicle was serviced right on time and the price was less expensive than the Meineke quote. when I was picking up my vehicle, I placed my hand on the gentleman's back and said " I know that it's not your fault that it took four hours to get the vehicle done" Because it actually wasn't his fault. They had to approve a voucher and then they had to go get the tires from elsewhere. That same employee called my rental car company and told them I assaulted him. So you guys are getting a 1 star review for lying. I did not deserve to have my car taken away for trying to be encouraging and nice. I drove directly into the service bay so that I could leave my car running. The battery was completely dead, and I was jumped to get there. The mechanic allowed me to walk through to request service. I was amazed that I was out of there with a good quality new battery within about 15 minutes. The value is average, though probably cheaper than the Toyota place down the road. read more

After running a few errands and arriving home my son hears a "Shhhhhhhhhhh" as he gets out of the car. Husband says hurry to the nearest tire shop. On a Saturday evening at 6pm, our usual go to Discount Tire down the street is closed...at 5!! But Pep Boys is open until 7pm. SCORE!! Head there as my tire pressure is getting lower and lower, when we arrive the pressure is down to 11 and still enough air for the mechanics to hear my tire issue. "We can fix that", says the tech. GREAT!! This location is currently under a HUGE remodel but the repair/service had 4 men working. Took 30 minutes exactly and all done! Nail hole plugged and on our way! My wife's windshield washer motor on her '06 BMW was not working. Called this location and got right in. The mechanic had called in sick so the repair was delayed a day. That next day about noon received a call the car was ready. Staff was nice and attentive. Repair cost ($200~) was reasonable. Store looked tired however since the parts area was empty. Would be a 5 on repair experience except for tech calling in sick with no backup.. I tried to do repair myself but had issue getting to the motor, so I knew better than to continue. read more

I was in a bind and needed to take care of my car. I scheduled an appointment with Pep Boys at this location via their website despite the bad reviews and gave them the benefit of the doubt since it was the closest to my house. I should've taken the reviews more seriously. Purchased tires online Monday morning from Pep Boys and was told the tires would come in the next day. I scheduled the appointment for the day after (Wednesday) when it was mentioned to be arriving. I came in for my appointment on time and was told the tires were not there and it's currently "20-30 minutes on its way but the tire installation should only take 30 minutes". A courtesy call/email before the appointment stating this exact information would have been much appreciated since I could have gotten other things accomplished during this time instead of inconveniently waiting in the shop. Tires didn't come in until 1.5 hours later, which meant waiting in the shop for 2 hours for something that should've taken 30 minutes if they had done their due diligence/proper customer service. However, the associate politely offered to give me a chair from the closed waiting room and water which was the only redeeming aspect of this experience. Unfortunately, I would not recommend getting your car serviced here if you're on any time crunch even when you schedule an appointment. Parts & retail are closed for this location, in case you're looking to purchase some things. read more

If was to rate Jerry id give him a 5 for customer service and quality of work, but on this trip jerry wasnt there, i called and got a quote for switching a tire on a rim and was told 10 bucks, which is the norm at 99% of tire shops, i get tire out of bed and manager on shift says 18 because its a large tire, the process is the same as it would be a smaller tire! I've used this location twice before for a scheduled oil change and once for an oil change + tire rotation. The first time, the wait was over 4hrs. The second time, I called after 3hrs. for an estimated pickup time. They said they were running behind, and it would probably take another 2-3hrs. They said they'd call me when my truck was ready. I never got a call. Thirty minutes before closing, I called them. They said my truck had been ready since 2pm that day. WTF?! I figured whatever, I wasn't busy that day anyway. Once I got home, it was obvious my tires had NOT been rotated. My front left tire had an obvious blemish that the remaining three tires did not have when I dropped it off. Not only was the blemished tire still on the trucks front left side, there were no hand prints or sign of a completed service that I paid for. This morning was my last attempt. I scheduled an appointment online. When I took my vehicle, the service man at the desk said someone had called in that day (hence being short handed), and that it'd be at least 3hrs. Annoying. I'm not hard to please though, and I understand these things happen. I relented, agreed to the wait, and mentioned a squealing noise that I'd like to have them diagnose. I guessed it was either the belt or the brake pads. I was quickly informed no one was working that day that had enough experience to know what could be the problem. I left. I won't return. I wouldn't give them one star if there was an option. They failed my state inspection multiple times in an attempt to try and sell me a new o2 sensor and computer. I went to My Garage off of vickery blvd and they had to call and threaten the Pep Boys employees before they'd reevaluate my inspection. Avoid this location if at all possible. New to Fort Worth..... and am used to outstanding service from my local "Pep Boys" type store in St. Louis.... Visited this location - and had inspection done on my Jeep for Texas plate application... Prompt - friendly - and "Done"! Had a problem the next week with wheels on my 41 year old classic Spitfire..... they had me in and out quickly.... Balance job was Good.... and, by then, they treated me like an old friend. Picked up a screw in tire at Texas Motor Speedway during track time... but didn't notice it till one hour before I was scheduled to be back on the track..... This store pushed me ahead of the line - repaired the tire, balanced it - and, as their computer was on the fritz.... said - take it - we'll not worry about the payment.... (they knew I would come back sooner or later... LOL) Customer service: 5 star Quality of work: 5 star to date Customer satisfaction: 5 star... I certainly can't complain.... Now I can walk in the door.... and get greeted by "how's the Spitfire doing today?" Gotta love it!!! read more

So the Territory sales manager came to our shop and made the service department of Pep Boys sound great. I arrived today to give them a try. Well this location is with outva doubt the worst service center I have ever been to hands down. Lazy technicians lazy supervisor. if this is the snap shot of their service centers then they should go ahead and fold up and close the doors. As a driver of an ARI vehicle I want to be in and out. I watched my truck set in the air for over an hour. All I came in for is oil change, tire rotation, windshield wipers and a state inspection. I arrived at 8am and didn't get out till after noon. Had I taken it to any Kwik Kar I would have been in and out, any Jiffy Lube in and out. For being a private company and trying to build a great service center reputation they have epically failed. I will be telling all my drivers to not go to Pep Boys. It wastes our valuable time and costs us money. Do yourself a favor do not even contemplate pep boys read more

I have been going here for some time but the customer service has hit rock bottom. I've made appointments online for an exact time because my time is important to me and I come in to find out that there is no technician to work on my oil change and they don't know when one will come in although I'm there for my appointment there is no technician. This is happened twice just for the oil change no technician have people running around all over but no oil technician I have come in twice for an inspection their inspection machine is broken there is no one here to do an inspection we don't know when they'll show up. My time is valuable and you would think that businesses want customers to come in but not Pep Boys. I also had some Some radiator fluid put in my radiator and apparently they snapped the cap so tight that the tank cracked and the fluid it all leaked out and my car overheated. The first time I came here I got a new battery and the next day my car wouldn't start. I then realized they hadn't secured the battery when they installed it and it had come loose. Just went there again and asked about the "Free Check Engine Light Code Retrieval Service" they provide and the guy responded "It'll be $89.99 for an inspection." When I clarified that I just wanted to run the test he said "Ok but all I can give you is the code." Yeah. That's all I needed. Then he couldn't even find the scanner. *facepalm* read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars!!! One is WAY too generous. Pep Boys totaled my car and hasn't paid me a dime for it. If I could afford a lawyer I would take them to court in an instant. They knew I was a young female teacher with no family in Texas and 100% took advantage of me. Go ANYWHERE but here. They have no idea what they are doing, do not care one single bit about their costumers, and will absolutely ruin your car and take no responsibility for their actions. EVERY single place I have had to take my car since (until it finally declared "totaled") asked me "WHO IN THE WORLD TRIED TO WORK ON THIS CAR?!?" It was a disaster and I had to sell my car to a junk yard for 1/4 it's value before Pep Boys ever laid a hand on it. Did I mention they let me drive away while it was completely unsafe to drive?? It died in the middle of the highway due to their negligence. My only silver lining is that I am still alive, no thanks to Pep Boys. read more

This place is horrible!! I ended up having to get a new transmission because I first took my vehicle here for service. I got a second opinion after my car started acting up the same day I left Pep Boys and was told that they should have never flushed the transmission fluid and even the mechanic at Pep Boys told me the exact same thing AFTER the damage was done. The service manager Brian was very rude and said there was nothing he could do even though his mechanic said it was their fault. I've gone there in the past a couple of times and received good service This time standing in line at the service counter waiting my turn they were suggesting work that needed to be done to a gentleman's truck. The gentleman agreed to all they suggested. After he left one of the guys working there told another coworker" see I told you I could sell that to him" It was obvious they sold him on something he didn't need. After calling early in the day to confirm they had correct type oil and filter for my new 2011 model car, asked again on arrival. Was assured they did and was quoted price. After they had oil drained out and I find them puzzling over their computer, they tell me they don't have the right oil and, oh, by the way, the price quoted didn't include the oil. But they were so kind enough as to grant me a 10% discount on the wrong oil ....like I had a choice at that point. I learned my lesson, won't go back there. read more

Fantastic Service!! My husband purchased a battery from a PepBoys in Dallas about 6 months ago. Turned out to be the wrong battery for my Hummer H3 and I began having connection problems. I went to this store with no Reciept, no phone number to track the warranty and they were able to find the purchase by my battery serial number. They honored the warranty, changed out the battery to the proper fitting one and sent me on my way, no charge, in less than an hour. They were HAPPY to do it and treated me like I was a top paying customer! Best car repair experience I've ever had! read more

John even took the time to price match and beat my original repair estimate from one of the local Chevrolet dealerships, saving me HUNDREDS of dollars in advance. Wow. So, I took my car to these clowns early morning, after calling to check availability. I was there right before 10am for (2)two new tires. It was myself and another guy in the waiting room, who was already waiting. Not sure how many cars were ahead of me but the cars in the lot could be counted on one hand. Needless to say I got tired of waiting so decided to have someone come pick me up. I expected maybe an hour or two at the most, oh NO....I get a phone call from the "service manager" advising me that "some part" was needed and has to come from the dealership. (Keep in mind I'm buying tires)So that added another few more hours, well all in all it took PEP BOYS (7)-hours to change out (2) tires one of which didn't even have to be removed from the rim just taken off and put in the trunk. Really??!!??!! So if your not really worried about time definitely take your car/truck to these guys. read more

Very unprofessional. Lazy. I think the manager might actually be a good guy, but as soon as he left last Friday afternoon everyone else basically quit working. My husband was there for around 3 hours with our young daughter and he left with no work completed on our car. Their explanation was that they could not fix the issue for some reason or another, but instead of telling my husband that as soon as they knew it, they sat around and shot the breeze and played on their phones while my husband entertained our 4 year old in their nasty waiting area. He had agreed to pay for the service ahead of time (something they make you do), so he thought he was stuck until they finished the service. After we complained and caused a fuss, they gave him the car back and didn't charge anything. I will be calling their corporate office to let them know that as soon as the manager left the remaining employees acted like complete imbeciles. read more
