It took a few hours to complete the diagnostic, but I appreciated that the staff was friendly, helpful, and understanding throughout the process. For me, it was much more convenient than waiting days for a dealership appointment just to have the electronic codes checked. Let me start by saying the lady at the front desk was the absolute best. Knowledgeable and personable. At the end she had to go on lunch. My manager who closed out the ticket gave me a 10% discount. I was happy...or so I thought. I called and spoke to the nice lady about Tires for my truck. Specifically Michelin Defenders. She had 4! Perfect! As they were inspecting they informed I needed new rotors and breaks on the front. No biggie. Let's knock it out. I also got a front end alignment and had them change out the windshield wipers. Everything was going well. I had the chance to watch them replace the tires and from a distance they looked great. We paid and left but had to get gas and I noticed how dirty the BRAND NEW TIRES LOOKED. All of them. $300+ for each tire and you'd hope they looked new or that the installer "cleaned" them up. Horrible. They used to be good but today, they were full.of chaos. I just need a nail hole patched in my tire. I had an appointment for 4:30...didnt even talk to me until 4:50. Said someone was AHEAD of me for 30 minutes, then me which should take 20 minutes. Went hom called them at 6:02...they said he would be done in a few minutes so I came back to the store arriving at 6:30pm. The tech had taken off the WRONG tire and hadnt even started the correct one. Still waiting and they close at 7. No apology. Nothing. Never again. If I could give zero stars, I would. This was, without a doubt, the worst customer service experience of my life. I came to this store (6500 Lake Worth Blvd) after a blowout on the highway. The technician, Sy C., sold me two new tires and personally guaranteed they would arrive the next day, as I stressed to him that I needed my car to take my mother to her chemotherapy appointment. The next day, my car never moved. After hours of waiting and being told the tires were coming, the staff finally admitted they had no idea when they would arrive. I was forced to scramble and spend money on Ubers to ensure my mother didn't miss her vital appointment, a completely avoidable stress caused by their lies. The worst part? When I called that evening to get answers, the same technician, Sy C., became hostile, THREATENED me on the phone, and then hung up on me. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. To add insult to injury, after Sy promised me a 50% refund for the ordeal, the store then tried to give me a gift card instead. This location operates on a foundation of lies and incompetence, topped off with shockingly aggressive customer service. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. I use Pep Boys because they are reliable for doing the job right and containing costs. They don't do work that doesn't need to be done. Rodney is a great listener and is always responsive. my experience with the Pep Boys on Lake Worth Blvd is less than satisfactory. Was told the job would be around 2 1/2 hours. It took 6. Intermitantly asked for an update and was essentially lied to each time that it was almost ready. Ultimately it was shared that they were waiting for a vendor to bring coolant. I would have gladly walked across the street to Walmart and bought some if they had told me and saved me 3 hours. Lastly the car had a check engine lit up and told them to address that. after $1100 and allegedly the technician driving it around to make sure it was ok, got in the car and the check engine light was still on. was told they did not address that and that I would have to come back the next day and pay an additional $100 for them to diagnose the issue as they were booked up for the rest of the day. Needless to say I did not return. Had it remediated the next day without the $100 test. read more

If I could give Pep Boys 0 stars I would. I took my car in for an AC air check, as my AC was blowing hot air. Originally on the phone they quoted me $39 for an AC check. They told me that my entire AC system needed to be replaced and told me there was a restriction in my AC and then charged me $125 to do absolutely nothing to my car. They even told me they couldn't do anything to it because if the "restriction". Come to find out I just needed more Freon in my car and they wanted me to replace everything. I knew there would be an entire new staff by now so I gave them a chance. I came in at 10 til close in desperate need of a battery and they stayed late to take care of me. There were two gentleman in there working (one older man and younger man) and was not greeted once which I get it sometimes things are hectic and you're busy. The Firestone next door to this Pep Boys told me my truck engine was damaged and that my head gasket was busted when I ask them to replace the water pump and timing belt. They said they would not work on it because they diagnosed engine damage and it was against their company policy. They said they could replace my engine for 13,000 dollars. I took the truck next door to Pep Boys and they replaced my water pump and timing belt without any problems and had their master mechanic come in on his day off to do it. Guess what, when they were finished the truck ran perfectly, no busted head gasket, no engine damage and no 13,000 dollars. Every one there were very friendly. Horrible customer service from the Service Center, and I will not be returning to the store side or Service Center because of it. I understand being busy and there being a wait. I do not understand why, throughout nearly half an hour spent waiting inside, I was never once acknowledged by anyone working the Service Center desk. Two men working the counter, an older man Lewis with a mustache (The Supervisor, judging off the patch on his sleeve) and a younger man, Gabe. No hello, no we'll be with you when we can, no we're quite busy and it will be quite a wait. Even the most basic of friendly customer service was absent. Going over to the store side, the woman working the cashier was very friendly. I was greeted with a smile and asked how I could be assisted today. I didn't get the chance to write her name down, but she's the friendly short brunette. When I told her of the frustratingly excessive complete silence and lack of acknowledgement from the two men at the Service Center counter, she offered to walk over with me to the counter. Once there she asked Supervisor Lewis the wait time, and instead of receiving a pointed look like I had, she got an actual answer. The wait time was over 2 hours. I am completely disappointed and disgruntled from the experience. I cannot believe that such poor service was shown by a Supervisor, no less. I thought the other reviews for this location were wrong, or outdated, but apparently not. I'll now be looking for a new place to get my regular oil changes, as the friendly service from one half of the business does not negate the negative experience from the other. read more

I took my Camaro here to have the rotors turned, brakes bled, and tires balanced. It took an entire day for them to finish working on my car. When I picked it up I noticed when I applied the brakes there was a rubbing sound and a jerking on the front left side. I took the car back a few hours later and asked the service advisor to ride with me so he can see what was going on. We got back to Pepboys and after he talked to another service advisor they said it was because the rotors were just turned and it would take a few weeks to go away. I spent over $300 to get the service completed and I am now at the Chevrolet dealer getting the exact same issue fixed. I took my car in today to get it looked at for an AC issue. I walk in to the customer service area and there were two service agents and two customers ahead of me who were being helped. They got through them quickly and I was expecting to be next to be helped, but nope, I stood there for the next 10 minutes as they putz around with paper work. No acknowledgement of me at all. No "we'll be with you in a minute". This area is a small area and when you walk in, you are literally right in front of the service agents faces so they knew I was there waiting. I got impatient and spoke to one of the agents named "Louis", and asked him if I was next in line (there was no other live customers in the room at this point). He looks up annoyed and says yeah, what can I do for you. I said, I'd like to get some customer service. I was annoyed at this point so I said, "You are in customer service aren't you?". He goes, we'll I needed to finish a couple of things. I told him he didn't even acknowledge me. He then says they we're really busy today. I explained my AC issue and he gets out a form, but at this point, there was no way I was going to leave my car in their hands so I tell him that I'm going elsewhere and left. As soon as I walked in I wasn't greeted with the slightest hello or even a hi I don't even think any of them made eye contact with me nor did they the 5 customers that came in after me. The only thing the older gentleman with a mustache said after waiting for about 10 minutes was we will be with y'all here in a minute with a very sarcastic tone. Then when I was finally helped the guy had an attitude and told be it was going to be a two hour wait time just so maybe he could run me off they only had two vehicles in front of me and I've been to other loacations of pep boys multiple times I use them for all of my oil changes and tire rotations. Never once have I had to wait two hours. The guy Jason was answering the phone told a customer false information due to him being incompetent to know his parts. First time on the phone he was telling someone about there vehicle saying that his low beam headlight was going to cost $16 then he went into the garage spoke with some of the techs and came back in telling another coworker behind the desk that he told that guy the wrong thing called him back then told the customer on the phone that it was going to be $110 because the high beam and the low beam have to be replaced all in one. X Overall the employees in so called "customer service" should be sent off to a training or replaced due to the lack of customer service and expertise of there job. read more

You can't trust this place. I paid for an oil change and tire rotation with full inspection. I ask about checking the air filter, tire pressure and filling fluids, the manager says it was checked and everything was good. Sure. So I get the car back and notice immediately my windshield wiper fluid was completely empty still. Strike one. My car is extremely dirty and you can see where it was and wasn't touched, which lead me to believe the wheels weren't even touched, as there were literally no marks on the wheels. Meaning no rotation was done at all. Strike two. I also notice the engine air filter cover is still covered in dust and grime, I wonder if it had even been checked. So I open it/close it to do a test myself just to check if any marks are left. Sure enough I left marks on the dust, proving it was not touched beforehand. Strike three. Lastly as I'm driving I notice my tire pressure light is still showing me I need air. So I pull over and check it myself, showing I still need pressure in the back rear tire. Strike four. The final strike is when I drive back and tell them all of this the manager just says "okay" and walks off like none of it is a big deal. Don't trust this place, I fear too many people are ripped off or are left with a possibly unsafe vehicle. read more

This shop offered terrible service to me after using them multiple times. I brought my car in for a check engine light. They said Evap "something" needed to be replaced. Charged me $700. A few days after they "repaired " it the engine light comes back on. They tell me some wires might be rubbing. Repair those at no cost. A few days later engine light back on for Evap. I take it back again, they run diagnostic and state they have to replace a lot more stuff and it would be $1300. I asked for a print out for the repairs needed on my truck, at this point I did not trust them to make the repairs and wanted a second opinion. They would not give me the printout. I had to call the general manager and he made them provide the printout. When I returned the manager threw the report on the table "here, and don't ever call my GM again." I attempted to review this with him so I can determine what was important now. I could not afford the full $1300 at one time so I was going to get the repairs done over time. He shrugged his shoulders turned and walked away. This was four months ago. I took my car to a different shop last week. Very inviting. Explained everything I needed, how they were related. Charges for all repairs $720. So what pep boys was going to charge for $2,000, got done for 1/3 of that. I will never deal with pep boys again. Horrible customer service. Overpriced. Had my car there three times and could not make the repairs. read more

I agree with other reviews. The service department is just rude. My tire was leaking and I just wanted to have them look at a small nail that was in the tire. They seemed so bothered to help me. But I did get their standard answer "it will be about and hour." So I got in my car and went to Firestone. They were just as busy but what did the guy do? He dropped everything and took the soap and water mix out to check my tire. Thankfully there was no hole. Through this experience I've learned not to go to Pep Boys for service. Ultimately they referred us to another repair shop for some of the things they could not do for us. I am "Joe" and let them replace a part based on the code. Joe's mistakes were, taking diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) literally and listening to unqualified advice. For instance a mass air flow sensor out of range code does NOT mean the sensor is bad. Trouble codes are NOT information, they simply an interpretation of information. A mass air flow sensor could read out of range because of a vacuum leak, or several other things. Vehicle diagnostics is the most difficult function of auto repair. Quality shops spend far more money on diagnostic equipment, training and information than anything else in the shop. The reason quality shops invest so heavily in diagnostics is because they realize it is far less expensive than the other options. Professional diagnosis eliminates possible causes without changing parts. Just because a shop is in the auto repair business does NOT mean they are qualified to diagnose problems Swaptronics, the roulette wheel and diagnostic dice are like most gambling devices. They cost a great deal while offering no benefit. read more

This review is about the service I had done on my Jeep. The service guys are great. They fixed an electrical issue I had with my Jeep that was eluding me for about a month. Price was reasonable but the updates about what is going on with my vehicle was inconsistent. My Jeep was there for two days and the first day I would get a call about every two to three hours about what's going on but the next day nothing unless I called. One advice I would give people taking in their vehicles for service no mater where you take it is that sometimes the easiest of jobs can sometimes take forever due to other factors.
