I've always been treated in a professional and courteous manner whenever I have gone hear. Yesterday my car's battery died. I was able to get it jumped and arrived a Pep Boys shortly before they closed. Instead of telling me to come back the next day they stayed a few minutes after closing time to install a new one. My daughter came with me today this is where my problem started i noticed a man watching my daughter shes pretty i let it go i walk around and he is still watching looking at that point he was fallowing her we left if you have any girls don't do business with them I'm still upset i called them asked the guy that answered the phone what was the employees name i told him what he looked like. BEWARE OF DISHONEST PEOPLE WORKING AT PEP BOYS AND DON'T GO THERE. They are ripoff artists. I took my car there because it did not start. They checked it and told me the fuel pump was bad and needed to replace for $896 and $ 980 with a harness or whatever they said. So I towed my car away and got a second opinion. Turned out my car did not need a fuel pump after all. It only needed a harness. I fixed it for only half the cost and it runs fine now. I have been going to Pep Boys for many years but no more. Back in Dec. 2017, my daughter came to this location with her '97 Ford Aerostar with an engine light on, and running poorly. They supposedly did diagnostics on it, and told her that she needed about $2,000 in repairs to fix the problem. In good faith, she decided to let them do these repairs they deemed necessary to fix this problem. After they had the van for close to 2 weeks, she paid them, and picked it up. Within just a few days of driving it (running worse than before), the engine light came back on. She brought the van back, and they did another supposed diagnosis. The Service Manager at that time (James), talked to my daughter and offered her one of two options: either they would split the cost of rebuilding the engine, which, at the time, I believe her cost was going to be to put in another $1,000- $1,500, and they would supposedly get that done, OR, Pep Boys would refund the money she's put into the van so far, and she could get it fixed elsewhere. After talking to her Mom and I, she decided to take them up on the offer of refunding the money back to her. James (the Service Manager at the time), told her that she would receive that refund in a few days. Unfortunately, James no longer works there, and my daughter and I have spent the last close to 5 months now, going back and forth with Pep Boys Lancaster CA, many times and still no refund. During this time, I've tried talking an assistant manager Nelson, and another Service Manager, Roland Bardelli, and his boss Bill Waters, who has never returned my calls. Roland now pretty much refuses to honor what the Service Manager at the time, James, said Pep Boys would do, and refund the money. I now have resorted to putting in a claim to the BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair). We'll see where that gets us. Oh, and by the way, my daughter and I took the car to a couple other places for diagnostics, and ultimately went with the mechanic that I use (Dodge Brothers Automotive), who diagnosed the problem and fixed it by rebuilding the whole top end, and in ONE DAY, for about the same money as my daughter already put into the van at Pep Boys. As far as I'm concerned, and from what I've seen here, at least this Pep Boys has taken advantage of my daughter, and does fraudulent work. And does not honor their promises. They refused to mount my tires on my wheels cause the tires were used they had like 50 miles on them just wanted different wheels so promptly told them that they f'ing suck and went to another place that did it for 60 bucks read more

Ive postponed writing this review but last year I got all 4 tires replaced on my car from Pep Boys. Within a year, two of the tires are already wearing. The guy said it was due to alignment and so it does not fall under warranty. They offer a free alignment check when you change your tires but the results are never recorded. You're supposed to check your alignment every 10-15K miles, and I definitely haven't driven that much since I had replaced them. They the guy who was supposed to be helping us sounded like he didn't know what he was talking about when we asked him why the results of the alignment were never recorded if it was actually included in the service. Complete scam. Save your money and a headache and go to The Tire Store! read more

My tire pressure kept getting low so I brought my car in to Pep Boys on a Sunday morning to have it checked. I suspected I ran over a nail. I was in a hurry because I was meeting a couple of friends down below for lunch and thought I might have to cancel on them. They put my car on a lift immediately and found I did indeed have a nail in my tire. They fixed it immediately and did NOT charge me anything! I was in and out in about 10 minutes and met my friends for lunch on time. Thanks Pep Boys! read more

I was told that pep boys over the phone they dissolve their diagnostic test into mechanical work. When I paid for diagnostic, I was told they no longer do this. I was disappointed. I talked to the manager Roland who helped me resolve the problem. He was kind and honored what I was told. They did the work, and I am satisfied. I have taken my car to Pepboys in the past and they have always been cuouteous, and did a good job. Two thumbs up. I hope this manager gets a raise. read more

My son lives in CA, but I live in OR. He needed a new battery pronto, but was short on funds at the time, so I bought a battery online and set up the appointment. At first I thought there might be a problem with my name on the receipt and my son going in there with his car, so I called the store and spoke to Christina (I think she works in parts), and she spoke to the service manager and made sure it would be OK. My son got there, and his appointment was on time, and he was very happy to have a new battery. Thanks to all involved who helped make this possible. James and the auto service team were very helpful. Came in to determine the cause of low pressure on passenger side rear tire. All tires were checked and service for proper air pressure at no charge. No repairs were needed. Will definitely bring my vehicles to this Pep Boys for service. read more

I was expecting to spend about $120 on a new battery(my car would not turn on without a jump first), but nope. Thanks to one of their workers, Ralph, I spent nothing at all! All he needed to do was tighten one of the pieces, and then the car worked fine. It would have been easy to take advantage of my lack of knowledge, but thankfully they didn't. I have been a customer of this store for about 8 years. First as a fleet customer then they earned my personal business. I also recommend them to friends and no one that I know of has been disappointed. A friend of mine towed his mustang GT from Los Angeles to this store to have the rack and pinion replaced and was really happy with the job they did. I would highly recommend the service department and the parts people are great also. I had to get a hard to get ignition switch from the parts department and they ordered it and had it the next day. read more

I was really happy when served by Metien and Roland today. I came in for the first time and had my tires swapped out along with an oil change and wheel alignment. I alerted Roland that I couldn't use one of the e-coupons and he gave me 10% off anyway. They were, friendly, polite, and knowledgable with my issues. Most importantly they were honest. Ralph's the MAN!!! I was told by Walmart that their battery was not the problem and I needed a new alternator. I took it to Ralph and he became suspicious because the battery light was not lit on the dashboard. He ran his diagnostic and confirmed that the problem was the battery and back to Walmart for a new one cause it was still under warranty. Ralph probably could have sold me a new alternator but that's not how he does things. He is as honest as the day is long. read more

Today I was extremely impressed with the service that and promptness that I got for my 2004 Yukon. Changed window regulator on passenger side, 4 new tires, front end alignment, 27 point inspection, head lights. They did it in under 5 hrs. and the price was very fair. So impressed I ordered a ignition cylinder for my 1990 Isuzu Pickup and I am looking forward to doing my regular maintenance from know on with them. read more

I just called about having a starter replaced. The guy asked me if I had the starter already. I didn't, and he quotes me $262 for one, and of course additional labor. Then I check online for their parts price and it was $90 cheaper! Hmmm, If they want to play that game, I will go to the cheapest place in town for a quote, and demand a price match. read more

Bought a battery 8-2010. It died 7-2012. Had a 24 mo warranty, plus a 72mo pro rate warranty. Had to argue & argue. They said I owed $156???? Also bought new tires 5-2012. Went flat 7-2012. They said I owed $19.99. Again had to argue and argue. Finally got out of there paying $30 for installation of new battery and repair of tire. Darn, wish I had installed that battery myself. No smiles, no caring cutomer relations, practically no eye contact. My husband and I, in our 70's and 80's, went there on a record breaking 111 degree day and wouldn't you know it. The A/C went out on our other car. So we thought, for the sake of convenience as soon as they fixed the tire and battery on the first car we brought in, we'd leave the 2nd car for a/c repair. By the time we got the 1st car done we would never trust them with another. Relatives had recently had bad experiences there also. We're done, Pep Boys. read more

This isn't so much compliment to Pep boys but rather to a mechanic, I believe that his name is Gavin. This guy went beyond the Job, He took the time to trouble shoot and actually acted like he cared the whole time. I was there Friday( 11/20/15) evening at 4:45 to help my elderly mom. I went to have them touch up some keys they made that didn't work from earlier in the day. I came out of the store and nothing no power, the first person( a pep boys employee ) that looked at it said that it was an electrical problem and I needed to get it to Ford. I called Ford and they were closing and said maybe they could look at it Monday or Tuesday. I was suppose top heading back to San Diego in one hour for work on Saturday morning. I was talking to customers in the parking lot trying to find some help. That is when Gavin walked by and I asked him to take a look.In a matter of a few minutes , he said it was probably the battery and to try charging it. I already had one employee check the battery and he said call ford. I offered Gavin a $100 tip just for caring and taking the time to help me in the parking lot. He REFUSED the Tip and said that they do not accept tips.Bottom line it was only a battery. Thanks to Gavin. Pep boys is lucky to have an employee like that . If I lived in Lancaster, Gavin is the only one that would have work on my car !! read more
