I went to Pep Boys with a simple issue. I had a blocked ac drain that was dumping water into my car. They could not tell me how long it would take. The guy at the front counter was doing eight things at once, which just tells me that they need to hire more front desk workers. They also immediately jumped to the worst case scenario and seemed unwilling to consider that it was not my evap core. I ended up going back to take my car to a different shop that could get me in sooner. This was about an hour or so later, my car keys were left on the front counter, not in a file or even in a safe spot, they were in the middle of the counter. I wanted to give them another shot but after this experience I think I'll be sticking with a different shop. read more

Update... after an hour they asked me which tire was leaking because they couldn't tell. Then they came out and said they couldn't repair it because the tire was from November of 2018 and more than 5 years old. I explained that that is only 4 years and then they said "oh... 11/18 means 11th week. My bad". I then explained it is not the 11th week so it's still not 5 years old. Then they tried arguing math with me. Lol. They then said there is no tread left which contradicts their own reporting which showed 30% wear and 70% tread left. Then they said well, it's dry rotted. Got the car back and tires now have 50lbs in them instead of 32. Missing all tire valve caps. What a scam. read more

Strike One: Service Manager came out and told me I needed new tires and that a balance and alignment would not help the shaking in my car. They went back and did the balance and alignment anyways without asking and then charged me $182. Service Manager then gave me a quote for new tires. What was the point of that? Why would they do work without asking me even after I was told was not going to help? Strike Two: Service Manager LIED and told Shop Manger I APPROVED the alignment and balance after he told me it would not help. What person in their right mind would authorize and pay for a repair after they were told it would NOT help? Obviously, a straight lie. Strike Three: I was told they did a tire rotation, they did NOT. Tires are in the same spot. Is it because I am a young female you thought you could lie and get away with it? Strike Four: Appointment was at 4pm, they didn't pull my car in until after 5pm. It was finished at 6pm. 2 hour wait for a wheel balance/alignment with an appointment seems excessive. I needed a tire repaired. Brought it in at 2 for an appointment. They tell me it's done I go outside and can hear air leaking from the tire. I go back in and said I can hear the air leaking from the tire. The guy behind the desk asked me which one and I told him the one they just fixed and he rolled his eyes and said well we patched it and I said well I can hear that it's not. They brought it back in and then it sounded like staff were fighting in the back yelling at each other and the front desk staff went back to break it up. Then at 4 they come back out and tell me it's all set and I asked what happened. "You have a leak" I said ok then what did you do the first time he said "I don't know how I missed it the first time" customer service and tire service was awful. read more

My husband got a screw in one of his tires. We scheduled the appointment online. I then noticed I also had a screw in one of my tires. I called and asked if I could also bring my car in for repair and they said no problem. Once we arrived we were greeted by Joseph who was very helpful and set us up on the computer. After a bit, Joseph came in and mentioned that the screw that was in my tire must have fallen out on the road. He checked all my other tires and they were all good. My husband asked if he could add a tire rotation service to the repair and they said no problem. We waited and were called when it was all set. The technician Paul was also very helpful. I'm not here to complain about the extra wait due to covid restrictions. I was prepared, brought my laptop and actually got a lot done. I am reviewing more than 2 months after my visit (which was in November) because they told me that my front brakes had "one week left" on them before they went. This was after I had already chatted with them about all the issues I had been having with my car lately and how stressed I was. I feel I was targeted as a young woman and that they blatantly tried to up sell me for this reason. My brakes are still running fine, and I will not be returning. My daughter woke up yesterday to go to work with a flat. She called triple AAA and they put her donut tire on. On her way to work driving down the highway yesterday, 8/14/2021 one of her other tires blew out. My son and I went to help her on RT 24 and noticed a third tire had a huge bubble on the firewall as well. I told her she needed to buy new tires. We took off her two passenger tires and the one that AAA took off and went to PEP BOYS for new tires. The woman said because of tax free weekend they were swamped and we weren't able to get the tires till later that day or the next. The manager in the shop said he will squeeze my daughter in and have them done within an hour, which he did. Thank you guys so much for helping us out! Horrendous customer service. Bought 4 tires. First time on the higway the car had a terrible vibration, made an appointment to have them re-balanced, my wife brought the car in and they tried to sell her a wheel bearing that wasn't needed and gave her a hard time about the balancing. It didn't help anyway. Brought the car to a different place who said the tires had flat spots and couldn't be balanced. Talked to manager Tim Z. who said he'd replace the tires but they didn't have anything in stock. Said he'd order them and call me in a couple of days when they came in. Never called. Never responded to multiple messages left for him. Went back and talked to manager again. He said if I brought the tires in he'd refund them. I had new tires put on elsewhere and brought them in. Tim wasn't there and apparently only he could do the refund. 2 months, multiple phone calls, 6 visits to the store and still out almost $1000 for garbage. read more

They said I am all set for my appointment at 8am on Saturday. Waited for about 45 minutes for them to tell me my order for tires were not placed and the tires are no longer existing that I ordered! Jeremy at the Brockton location got me a deal on 4 better tires and Jason put all the information into the computer and it actually saved me $100 from the prior order!!!! This is my 2nd horrible experience with this location. I'd give 0 stars if I could. I ended up here in October of 2022 because it was the only place i was able to get my car into for a tire on a Sunday. I had an 11am appointment and i ended up having to leave my car there for the entire day and make a trip back to get it before closing time. Today, I had an appointment for 3pm to replace the tire they had put on because there was a gash in the sidewall. My replacement was supposed to be covered by the road hazard warranty, which at the time of initial purchase i was told would be used to replace my tire at no cost to me. This is not the case. At 515pm, after sitting in the waiting area for over 2 hours, I went up to the counter to ask how much longer it would be before my car even made it out of the parking lot and into the garage. I was not ever given a time estimate for completion when I dropped my car off but on my paperwork it says my car was promised at 5:52pm. My paperwork also says that I dropped my car off at 8:04am, which is absolute bullshit as i arrived shortly before 3. Had I known I would have been waiting 3 hours for my car to be finished, I would have planned for it. I finally received my car back at 6pm after receiving an email and a text message several minute earlier, before any person in the store came to tell me a damn thing. My paperwork also says that I declined an alignment. I was never asked if I wanted one. This place is terrible and the only reason I returned in the first place was because I was expecting my tire replacement to be free based on what I had been told in regards to the warranty. I also overheard the manager lying to clients on the phone after explaining the lies to tell to his associate who declined to make the call to the customer. Aside from that, the manager was also having his associates working on vehicles that were not being picked up tonight instead of completing the vehicles that there were several people in the waiting room, including me, impatiently awaiting to pick up. I was not the first to approach the counter inquiring about how much longer it would be. After I had asked, the manager told someone in the garage to stop working on a car that was being picked up the next day to work on my tire. None of these staff members are straight forward about anything when you drop off your vehicle. No waiting times provided, no updates provided while you're waiting, nothing. I will never be back. Feel free to go here if you want to waste your entire day waiting for a repair that would take nearly anywhere else less than half the time. If you make an appointment, just know that your time slot means nothing and that the work will not be done in a timely fashion. 0/10, do not recommend. read more

My daughter was on her way to work and noticed she had a flat. She called Triple AAA and they changed her tire. While on the highway she had another tire blow out. She called my son and we went to assist her. While we were there we noticed another tire was bad and had to replace that one too. We were close to RT 44 and I have great experience with Pep Boys before that I suggested she buy new tires from there. We jacked up the car and took the two tires off the passenger side that were bad and the tire AAA changed out and went to Pep Boys. We got there and ordered 3 tires and was told by one employee that they were booked because of the tax free weekend that the tires wouldn't be ready till later in the day or next day. I was upset because my daughter was stranded on the highway. The manager said not to worry he will try to get the tires down within the hour. An hour later they were done. I am definitely satisfied with the service. The car was still there (didn't get towed) which would of been more of an expense. Thank you so much Pep Boys. Just so you know Pep Boys are open most holidays as well. I had a flat during Fourth of July and they were the only tire place that was open then. These people are truly the best! read more

This is the worst place you could possibly ever bring your vehicle they will either let you sit for three hours and tell you they have no idea what it is and take it to the dealership or they'll tell you they don't have enough staff to accommodate your online appointment either way when you call the corporate office you're going to get the same customer service or should I say lack of customer service don't bother going here unless you have a whole day to wait and a real mechanic somewhere else that can fix your car!!! Tried to use them twice for an oil change. First time called for my appointment got there took them 1 1/2 hours for an oil change. Could have done it myself faster then that, even with the time to run and get materials. Second time show up Saturday morning before they open, second person in the door, ask about an oil change, told first appointment Monday morning. really? OK go outside look at their web scheduling, see 2pm available, take the appointment. I go back in tell the service adviser, he tells me I'm the 4th car to book that appointment time. What, are you kidding me? He tells me their web scheduling allows for multiple cars to book the same appointment time. I walk out again and tried calling customer service to ask about it. 3 attempts to call, 2 that Saturday, one that Monday, their system hangs up on me all 3 times. Try 2 emails to customer service no response. Horrible scheduling system, causing stupid what times for service. Then too get hung up on 3 times, and no response to emails from customer service?? I wouldn't refer my worst enemy there. This company does not have the first clue about customer service, my ass would get fired if I treated a customer like that. I thought I'd be duped into spending more based on other reviews, but this was not so. My tire was free, and $37 only for installation. The tech was professional, communicative, and friendly. I felt compelled to post this because I had such a bad experience at this Pep Boys in Raynham. I usually go to the dealership to get work done on my car, but I thought I would save some money by heading to Pep Boys. I went here to have my front brakes fixed. It was expensive, but I paid what they asked for, stayed there most of the day, and got the brakes repaired. I can overlook the price and the less than satisfactory customer service, but what really upset me was that the person who took the lug nuts off my front right rim damaged it with the gun. Then to top it off, they switched the rim to the rear left side so that I wouldn't notice it. Well, the dirty deed worked, because I actually didn't notice it until several weeks later when I cleaned my car out. I hadn't had any more work done on the car and I was so pissed off. I was always so proud that my car didn't have any damage to the wheels or body. When I thought about the headache they would give me if I went back there to dispute this, that I didn't even bother going back. My friend said that I should've gotten an attorney, but I was broke. It was just a terrible, terrible thing they did. I am hoping that if I am able to help someone else be wary of this Pep Boys, then maybe my lack of recourse isn't for naught....
