I just reached a conventional reitirment age near 65. Autos are not what they were in the 70/80s! Not easily fixed by most shade tree mechanics. Today autos are fine tuned transportation machines. Autos maintence costs are a reality in retirement! (As in tires, suspension, whatnot, & such). Not all tires & wheels / suspensions are standard & universal. Every time I've gone to Town Fair Tire, Walpole, Ma., I've been more than accommodated by 2 primary auto maintence providers. They are not consumed by their iphones when a customer walks in the . Marko & Trevor, are well versed & trusted auto advisory & suggested work needed providers that cannot be beat, imo. I have auto service & maintence experiance myself, i'm not a karen. I worked at 3 auto service providers PTime starting 1970 - 2020. Thsese 2 guys deserve recognition & incentives & i'm sure they'd agree. Should another opportunity arise for both or either I'd certainly up their pay scale to keep them both engaged and working for me if it was my operation. Just my informed & unbiased opinion. Visited the Norwood location where I had an appointment to have wheels rotated and was informed if may take 1.5 hours due to a shortage of workers. As it turned out, only one bay was open to service cars. I am disappointed that I along with other customers had to experience a long wait for service due to the workers who didn't show up for work. read more

Had a slow leak on quality tires with less than 30k miles on them. Staff took my keys but refused to look at the tire for the cause of the leak because "they are bald and need to be replaced". Staff also said "something must be going with these tires because they only have 3 in the computer system - perhaps manufacturer is discontinuing them...so you should buy 4 of our other tires so you don't run into trouble getting matching tires in the future". ALL lies. As a woman I have to wonder if my husband would have gotten these stories. Town Fair pays employees commission to sell. I went to Rose's Automotive in Sherborn who quickly plugged my tire due to nail and said the tires were good for now. Rose's charged me $35 and not one lie. read more

Went here for three tires. They broke a toe bolt during the alignment. Said sorry and sent me on my way after a mild discussion. I spent almost $1k here and they even tried to charge me for the alignment which they didn't do and broke my car. Repairs for what they broke are costing me over $900. I can't say enough great things about this location. I made an appointment to get new tires and an alignment. I underestimated how much time it would take and had a meeting to get to. They worked really hard to get me in and out and were incredibly nice. I knew exactly what tires I wanted and they never tried to up sell me. And they do free alignments on the tires I bought. I take my truck to Town Fair Tire twice a year to keep it driving straight and true. Very important for me since I make an annual Florida road trip. Last thing I need is premature wear or a car pulling left or right on 1,500 mile trip. I deal with Norm and appreciate his courteous, professional, and honest approach. Walked in on a Saturday and got the alignment and balance special for $99 and all work done in 90 min. Lifetime rotation and lifetime flat repair too! The techs will do a walk-around and visual check on your tires and explain any issues they may find. For me, Norm found a screw stuck on a rear tire. He removed it w pliers and did an air leak test. Thankfully it did not go through all the way. Proper inflation, alignment and balance is so critical for a smooth and safe ride and offers priceless peace-of-mind. I recommend Town Fair to all friends and family. Scheduled balance and rotation saves you money in the long-term and saves you the embarrassment of driving yourself and your passengers around in a vibrator on wheels. read more

I just had 4 brand new tires installed. one of the tires was leaking air so I had to go back a second time! Whoever did the work the second time must have left their gloves on covered in grease and got grease all over the inside and outside of my vehicle everywhere he touched including all over the rim. He also must have drove the car out with his gloves on because it was all over my shifter, steering wheel and door handle!!! I do not recommend this Walpole town fair tire to anyone. Totally unacceptable service and zero attention to detail! If you get grease on your gloves change them out!!!!! It's not rocket science. BUYER BEWARE!!! 2 1/2 - 3 hour wait times, even with an appointment. This would be zero stars if Yelp allowed it. I made an appointment to have 4 new tires put on my daughters car more than a week advance. When I got to the Walpole, MA store at 9:20 for my 9:30a appointment there was a line out the door with only 2 men checking people in. When they finally got to me it was about 9:45a and he quoted a 2 1/2-3 hour wait time. I had a vet appointment to keep at noon for my sick cat and I made it known to Jesus (who identified himself as the assistant sales manager) to ask if he could do anything about the wait. He said he couldn't. He made me sign a waiver saying I would come back after 25 miles to check the lugs didn't come loose. This is a total inconvenience to working people. It would be better if the company could take appropriate quality control measures and be accountable for the work they are being paid for, rather than shifting liability to their clients. I was concerned I might miss the vet appointment, so I consulted with my local mechanic and a competitor NTB Tire. Both confirmed it should reasonably take no longer than 1- 1 1/2 hours to put 4 new tires on a car. I asked Jesús if this is a standard wait for appointments? He said it was. I asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with Norm, the service manager and explained it all to him. Both he and Jesus were nice, understanding, and professional but basically would not accommodate me, so I asked for a refund. Jesus refunded me and gave me a receipt. When I arrived home and reviewed the receipt I realized there was reason field that Jesus had filled in for the refund which misstated that I did not want wait the quoted 1 1/2-2 hour wait quoted. This understated the 2 1/2-3 hour wait I was quoted by an hour. I called the location and spoke with Norm and called his attention to it. I asked him if this matters or if anyone reads these things and he confirmed the regional office reviews. I asked him to correct the factually incorrect information and he agreed it would be better for the regional office to know the truth of what happened if improvements to service could be made. Overall it seems like this location doesn't have enough bays or staff to do a good job in a reasonable amount of time. The staff is professional, but not overly accommodating. If you're strapped for cash and have time to waste the6 are a good bet. If you're a professional and your time is valuable, it's worth spending the extra money and going somewhere else. Pretty abysmal experience. An appointment scheduled for 1:30 to put on a patched tire in their possession. I had to walk out at 3:30 as my car wasn't taken and I had an appointment elsewhere. I was told I was "next" but then another car always appeared to slide in. Maybe it's because I was here for warranty work.... It was clear it was busy, short staffed, and it was clear things weren't organized--I have an appointment scheduled for new tires on another vehicle but will for sure cancel it as I can't deal with a service experience like this again. read more

Customer service gets 0 I have been coming to this town fair tire location for nearly 8 years, and unfortunately, I have seen the customer service decline so severely, I can no longer justify supporting their business. I have no explanation for the way I was treated by staff member Pete throughout my last transaction, other than blatant sexism. I called about a week in advance to order tires and make an appointment to have them installed. Over the phone, the person who helped me was excellent and patient. They ordered the correct tires, made the appointment, and offered a free alignment, which I accepted. When I came in for my appointment at 2, Pete was the only person working the front desk, aside from another staff member who was doing something with paperwork. I was completely ignored as I stood behind a customer who's car was all set; he was just busy chatting with Pete about personal matters. I was told that someone would be with me to help me shortly, as Pete ran around the store doing legwork for the other staff member. I was made to wait standing for roughly 25 minutes before Pete took my key. Our interaction was brief, he looked up my account, took my key, and said I would be called when my car was all set. I was annoyed that it took me 25 minutes for something that could've been handled in less than 5, but whatever. I figured the process would take about 2 hours, and was prepared to wait in store for my car, but after waiting 1.5 hours, my car was unmoved, and I was able to find a ride home. I waited by my phone from the moment I left, until I received a phone call at 6 PM saying that my car was all set and ready to go. The phone call went as follows, Caller: "Hey, is this Cassidy? Ok, great. Your car is all set and ready to be picked up!" Me: "Great! I'll be right there! Also, I just wanted to confirm, I got the Yokohama's?" Caller: *listed the actual make and size of the tire in confirmation* Me: "great! I'll be on my way!" At no point was it mentioned that they were going home at 6, and at no point was it suggested that I pay for my tires over the phone, so when I arrived at 6:20 to pick up my vehicle, it had been locked inside of the garage and everyone went home. So now it's my problem to find a ride back to town fair tire in the morning, fine. In the morning, I came in to pick up my car. The wait was not as long before being helped; Pete came out just for the occasion. As he was checking me out for the tires, I tried to reason with him by saying, "Last night at six, when I was called to pick up my car, I didn't realize that you would be closing at six..." And then Pete cut me off in the middle of my sentence.. what I was going to say, was just that in the future, I would like to pay for my tires over the phone if that was an option, so that they would be able to leave my car out of the garage with everyone else's that they had finished. But Pete interjected to say, "I called you three times and I was hung up on" I say, "no, what?" He says he spoke to someone by the name of Risa? And she hung up on him Meanwhile, I have no clue what he is talking about. I thought the phone call went well; no one was unjustly hung up on. I don't even know who I spoke to over the phone, as a name wasn't given. The number that is listed on my account is both my personal and business number, and is only connected to my cell phone, so as far as I know, there is no possible way any other person could have answered my phone. At first, It was my suspicion that they locked my car up intentionally knowing that I would not make it there before they closed At this point though, it is obvious to me that Pete has beef for some reason, as he yells at my ride to "calm down" just for asking Pete not to talk to me demeaningly. Pete had whipped the computer around in my face to prove to me that I didn't request an alignment. My ride noticed his aggression towards me, and stepped in for my defense. Which mind you, the alignment wasn't something I was trying to argue; I said I wanted it over the phone, and should've confirmed it at drop off. In fact, all day while I waited for my car, I debated calling to make sure they had the right tires, but I didn't want to be a difficult customer, so I didn't call to check in. Pete finally finishes the transaction, slides me my papers. I shuffle through, realizing that the mail in rebate was not included. Again, my suspicion they were being negligent confirmed. Pete tried to act like that was some thing that was offered over the phone, but I had seen it advertised on their website. He reluctantly hands one over to me, that I believe was already printed too, and I leave. read more

Went in for 4 new tires, showed them my car and the kind of tires I was interested in and David showed me different options and the price (all inclusive, including tax so there was no surprise at the end). Price was competitive with every other place. David told me the difference in performance on the different tires and I chose the ones I wanted. They quoted 90 minutes, I had it under an hour, including alignment etc. Extra points for the lifetime tire rotation, 30 day free test drive on the tires (if you don't like them bring them back and they'll put another set on) and the nifty computerized alignment diagram with toe/camber angles. Long story short, the assistant manager, Pete, contacted Continental and was able to get my tire replaced through the warranty -they even coordinated all of the paper work. I made an appointment to get a slow leak repaired. On the day of the appointment they called me to tell me that they were short of help and that there would be at least a three hour delay. I rescheduled for the following day at 1:30. Upon arrival I asked how they were doing and they said they were running a little slow. I left my vehicle. An hour and a half later they still had not taken my vehicle in. When I spoke to the manager he told me that there were at least two vehicles ahead of mine that needed to be serviced. Roughly estimating on how quickly they do a car it was going to be at least another two hours or more wait. Clearly they do not respect appointment times and cannot give honest or accurate appointment estimates. I will not be going back ever. read more

Do not go here. Would rate 0 stars if I could as they don't know how to simply change tires. Added snow tires to my car a month ago and on 2 separate occasions have had low pressure readings on different tires. When you go to pump with air the tire will lose air much more quickly. Asked them to see if they could take a look and was met with "no I can't do that, we don't do that." Had to mention my tire warranty for it to get looked at where he immediately goes "did we do this? I ordered a tire online to be shipped to store for installation since they didn't have it in stock. When I placed that order, I also made an appointment for the next week to install it. Shows up for appointment and was told they didn't have it. No professionalism or decency to call and let me know, so I got to waste an hour heading down there and back. Not like they were busy, 4 guys up front chatting with no customers in sight. Tire finally shows up. Goes in to install tire, have it balanced with an alignment...supposedly. Took 1.5 hours... awfully fast compared to what I know of them. So I pointedly ask if they did the alignment. They said yes, the car is 100% straight and no problems. Ok, so I leave. I'm drive off, hop on the highway and my car is not going straight. They didn't do the alignment!! The car veers off to the left and I have to keep the steering wheel pointed right to go straight. Call them back and have them tell me that the alignment tech just looked at the steering wheel while driving around the parking lot to determine everything was aligned/straight. REALLY?! Have to go back the next day since this was already at the end of the day. They tell me it will be quick, an hour tops. I sit in the waiting area and watch the CCTV screen where the alignment bay remains empty 40 minutes out of an hour before I question why my car isn't in. They were like... "OH SHIT" and finally bring my car in. Finally. they tell me it's done. At that point, I walk out the front and... WHERE IS MY CAR?! The front desk comes out, they don't see it. They walk to both sides, they don't see it. They have no clue what happened. Did these incompetent buffoons lose my car? Apparently the idiotic tech decided to park my car in the rear parking lot, behind the building where employees park. DAFUQ?! Imbeciles. TLDR: 1) show up for appt, tire did not show up and they don't have decency to call & let me know 2) lied about doing alignment when asked, car does not drive straight afterwards 3) lazy tech wasted an hour of my time before doing alignment while alignment bay was free 4) imbecile tech hid my car in rear parking lot with employee cars instead of parking by front door read more

I made a 3:00pm appointment with this location last Saturday to have a tire patched (had a screw stuck in it). Even with the appointment, they did not take my car out back until around 3:50pm. After that, it was a pretty quick job and I was on my way. After leaving Town Fair Tire, we noticed that the car was shaking a bit and brought it to a mechanic to check. Upon their review, it was found that 2 lugnut caps were missing and the wrong lugnuts were placed on the tire (likely caused from using the wrong sized equipment and damaging the original nuts). It was also discovered that our tire rim was now bent, causing the wheel to wobble slightly and make the car shake when driving. Since we hadn't experienced this before having the tire patched, I reached out to Town Fair asking what happened and what they could do to fix it. I spoke with David (who I was told was a manager, but I later discovered he w) who told me I would have to go back so he could look at it. Throughout the conversation, David was questioning everything I said saying that his guys wouldn't have damaged the tire. So I drove down after work to let David look at it and he told me he doesn't think it could be his guys but he would talk to his manager and have him call. The next day, Norm (the actual store manager) called and gave us every possibility under the Sun how it couldn't have been them and said we would have to come back for the third time for him to look at it. He spoke in such a condescending tone that I can't believe he was ever made manager. At this point, we are fed up with the service and lack of respect of this company and you can be sure we will never visit again. Thanks to the conversations with David and Norm, we will also be filing a case with the Better Business Bureau to try and curtail this kind of behavior in the future. In the end, they got what they wanted in not having to fix a $500 mistake, but they have lost at least 7 cars of business with our family because of it. UPDATE: Spoke with Rich who helped resolve issue. While the actions of the two individuals I worked with were unacceptable, I am glad we were able to come to a quick resolution. LONG story short, it's now 1/4 till their close time, and I need 1 tire mounted and balanced so my best friend can make her great grandma's funeral services. Not only did the manager make sure I was taken care of, he let all his guys go home, stayed after close, by himself, and he did the job himself. Not that swapping a tire is anything difficult, it's simply the fact he went out of his way to take care of me, and didn't make me feel like a customer, I was his guest. Big difference there. I just wish I knew his name so I could give him the recognition he deserves. When I called he could of said he's been at work all day and wants to go see his family and go home, but when I asked if I can make it before he leaves, will he help me, he responded with "I'll be here." I called 4 days prior and set up an appointment to drop off my vehicle in the morning and have 4x tires installed (along with an alignment) while I was at work. I also came in the day prior to pay in advance to make the process quick the next day. I dropped it off around 10:45AM and called at 3PM to check the status and they said it wouldn't be done until 6-7PM. The priority clearly goes to people who walk in and wait for their vehicle in person. A woman who I spoke with dropped her vehicle off at 9:30AM, arrived at 6PM and waited until 7:45PM for it to be completed. You would think setting up an appointment well in advance and spending $800 on tires would warrant better customer service. I would have rather spent $900 and had it done elsewhere. The service was completely unacceptable. I called them at about 9:00 this morning and asked if I could come to have a leaking tire repaired. The man who answered the phone told me the wait time would be between 15 and 45 minutes. When I arrived, about 15 minutes later, I was informed that the wait would be several hours and suggested that I leave the car; which I did. The clerk assured me that it would be done by the end of the day but that they would call me to advise if I needed to replace the tire. I received no call call so I went in at 3:45, closing time being 4:00 on Saturday. When I asked about my car, one of the tire installers was sent out to look for the car. Easy to make an appointment, the sales team was very nice. 9am appt, got right in, they went out and looked at the car beforehand to make sure the tire size was right. Economy tires were in stock and they said it would take 2 hours. I dropped off the car and got a ride home, but the install only took 1.5 hours so if I had waited it would not have been so bad. Overall, pretty straightforward and positive experience. Based on some of the bad reviews, I guess if you can drop it off, that's the way to go in case they do take longer. I was fine with price but the customer service is what really made me feel better about deciding to come here. A month later my daughter needed tires and I suggested she bring her car here and she was very happy as well. Last night I ran over a nail and the tire was completely ruined. This was not only my worst ever customer experience at any retail establishment ever but also the strangest. Dropped my wife's car off at 10am on a Saturday to repair a leak in one of the tires and a rotation. Inside the store there appeared to be no sign of management or leadership but several dazed and confused employees wandering around. When we finally got someone to wait on us , he couldn't tell us how long the process would take. "Sometime before closing" was muttered. Should have left then and there, shame on us! Four hours later I called to check and reached a call center in God knows where. The lady in the call center had no record of my drop off and transferred me to the Walpole store where after an endless amount of time, one of the "dazed and confused" picked up. Surprise! The store had no record of my drop off either but assured me that by the 4 pm closing time, my car will be ready. We show up at 4 pm and guess what? The car hadn't been touched. Several minutes later a dazed and very much confused Town Fairan informed me that they couldn't perform the repair or rotation because we needed new tires. I would have almost fallen for that trick but the Hyannis store tried the same sleaze ball trick on the same car four months and ten thousand miles ago. There was plenty of safe tread then and now. He did however say he would be willing to repair the leak. Again, shame on us for not leaving but at 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon, we were desperate. On our way back a half hour later we received a string of odd phone calls / hangups from Town Fair. Finally the dazed and confused young man on the line was able to stay on the line long enough to tell me the car is ready! Yippee!!! We returned to the car which was messy and smelly (not the way we brought it in) with mats askew and the lug lock nut in the console and not returned to the glove box where they found it. No invoice or record of our transaction. Ready for the grand finale? The very next day, the low tire pressure indicator light is back on and a pressure check reveals the same tire is back to where we began the day before. As I write this, I still cannot believe the dishonesty, trickery, unprofessionalism, poor communication and absolute ineptitude I experienced. BEWARE!! read more

I highly recommend this place for the following reasons: The people here are honest and straight forward. The technicians know their job and are ery good at it. The team is efficient and the products they sell are worth the cost. I have visited this place multiple times. To give an example of their service... I had a flat tire and stopped by without an appointment as it is raining outside and I couldn't do it myself. My car was taken in and out in 30 mins with no charge. My expectation was $50 with a 2 hour wait. Jesus was a wonderful person who right away got my case and made sure I didn't need to wait unnecessarily.
