I Went back after the machine was "fixed", AND IT STILL WASN'T PROPERLY ALIGNED. I let them know the alignment didn't work for the THIRD TIME. They said I can only get a refund if I PROVE IT TO THEM. I paid for a lifetime wheel alignment service. I called to check if I could come. They said no same day appointment. I schedule my appointment for 12PM and when I arrive they said my car will be ready at end of day. I asked why and they said because they had a lot of people come in for alignment. This contradicts their no same day service. What was the point of the appointment. I paid $199 for this service. I feel that because they are not getting money from me today they are making me wait. I thought purchasing this service was a good decision. Now I regret it. I'm sure if I go to a mom and pop shop they would help me right away. Pep boys, you have lost a customer. Been coming to this location my entire driving life. Friendly and honest work is all I have received from the team at SF PepBoys! Had issues with my 99 Suburban and they found the issue and with an honest conversation told me " we don't have the skills and technician that can handle this type of work ". ( had a rotten eat through most of the electrical cables). With that they have won my respect and my business. read more

This location is the best. Great Customer Service. From Roberto to the mechanics, they took care of my vehicle. Came here for the second time on Saturdays at 8am. The second time was to get my brake light fixed and a clunking issue I had for a while now, and finally it was fixed correctly with Pep Boys because my previous mechanic could not resolve this issue, and my car was driving like an old piece of crap car, until it was finally fixed here. Thanks to the mechanic at this location ( not sure what his name is) but he is Caucasian, I believe, , now my car runs smooth , as the first time I purchased it. Went in for a routine Uber/Lyft inspection and was told to wait in the seating area. there were 2 people ahead of me. An hour and 15 minutes later I called near by inspections centers and they had no wait. I go to the desk and ask how much longer and the owner (I assume) tells this fat dude that looks drunk to take care of me and why was I waiting for an hour. The dude says "oh, it's cuz no one was here." which was a lie because 3 employees are standing around on their phones. He's then rude and makes me stand there for 5 minutes without looking or saying anything. The inspection takes 10 minutes. Call out if you're hungover homie. Never again! read more

Terrible automotive mechanic service. Took in 2003 Tacoma that would shut off shortly after turning on. They charged $100 to diagnose. Understandable. Then, they "diagnosed" an electrical issue due to "aftermarket alarm." They then said they needed to diagnose the electrical issue at $150 hourly & needed minimum 3hrs. Lol the diagnoses to the diagnoses. Initially, I told them to check the fuel pump, they didn't. Took it elsewhere and fuel pump was replaced, truck is back to normal. Avoid this place for mechanic work, just stick to tire service when going here to play it safe. One can't possibly screw up a tire job. read more

I took my car for breaks to the Pep Boys on San Fernando Rd. I ended up needing more than breaks and taking my car 3x to get fixed (hopefully). After 3,000 and three visits I would think that they would have the customer service to inform me what was done to my car, provided a summary and my keys. Instead, I walked in to pick up my car on 9/14/2023 at 6pm from the assistant manager Robert who was rude and dismissive to me. I walked in and I noticed him talking to someone but I have seen employees talking before so I greet them. When I noticed it was a customer I waited patiently. The customer and I did small talk between that Robert requested for a young man to check my mileage. A young lady came out to help me but Robert told her no. Basically told her that he had it. When the young man walked back in he gave my keys. I asked for summary of what was done to my car. Then he said that he would email it in a rude tone of voice. He was very dismissive to me. Like I was bothering him. I walked out and reflected. I know that if I was a male he wouldn't have talked to me like that. Not happy. I waited for the gentleman who was in the shop walked out then I walked back in. I told him that the least he could do is provide me good customer service after having to bring my car 3x and spending so much money on the shop. He still didn't apologize or recognize that he was in the wrong which frustrated me more. He rudely told me to have a good day. At end, I was being rude back and told him that I deserve the same respect as the male customers. Please do yourself a favor and avoid the headache. Took my car over to get my tires checked and an oil change. Robert who was assisting me was very rude and demeaning. It's not the first time he made me feel like I didn't know what I was asking for. This is the second time I experience this with him. The first time, I showed up with my step dad to pick up my car and his demeanor changed completely. It was only when I was alone, that he treated me with very low quality customer service. I am never coming back to this location even after several years. I was in Pep Boys today but the prior event I mention first is directly related. Two years ago I went to Pep Boys for an alignment. When I called the service center at 8:30am I was told the job would take about an hour. When I arrived, 20 minutes later, I was told it would take about 2 hours. No problem, I left my truck and rode my bike home. Around 10:00am I received a call saying "Pep Boys was unusually busy" and I was asked if they could complete my alignment around 2pm. I said "No problem". Around 3pm I called Pep Boys and was told that my truck would not be ready until they closed at 7pm but due to the inconvenience they would do the alignment for half price. I didn't really have a choice so I said OK. At 6:45pm I was told my truck was ready. As I was paying the bill they explained the 30 day warranty - if I wasn't satisfied they would realign it for free. They pointed this out 3 times. When I drove away I quickly figured out why - they never aligned my truck. It's been about 2 years and Pep Boys is under new management so I decided to give the service center another chance. Here's how it went: Today, I was told at 9am that an alignment would take 1 hour if I showed up before noon. When I arrived at 10am I was told it would take 2 and a half hours. I expected that. Then around noon I received the same call I received last time, they wanted to finish the vehicle sometime in the afternoon. The exact same thing was happening! However, this time I said OK but immediately went and picked up my vehicle. Before Pep Boys was purchased by Advanced Auto Parts I was loyal to the store but I wasn't impressed by the service center. Got tires here months ago, went in for a scheduled tire rotation appointment but still had a 3 hour wait. Then they called me explaining that my break pads were at 4/32 and my rotors were damaged and needed replacement. I had put new break pads on 1 year prior so I declined the work. Took it who did breaks and they were at least 16/32 and the rotors were also fine too. Several mechanics witnessed it. The past 2 rotations they've been saying I need new struts and those too were not as bad as they made out. Clearly, Pep Boys was being deceitful, and are not helping people but helping themselves. If I didn't have another mechanic and didn't know better, I would be out $1600 perhaps a year before work was actually required! Sad, and bad for business... read more

A few weeks ago, I took my minivan to this shop for an oil change, and inspection. They recommended to replace rear shocks, tires, new front brake pads and resurface the front rotors. I gave the ok to do an oil change, replace what they recommended with the exception of new tires. When I picked up the car I opened the hood and found a large screw driver in the engine compartment and one of the wipers hose broken. I went back to the shop, returned the screw driver and told one of the guys what happened. He just shook his head and walked away. The next day I drove the car with my family to Oregon to visit some family. Driving down the hills was very difficult to brake. When braking I heard vibrations, shaking steering wheel, brake pedal pulsing and the car will not stop easily. I had to use the manual shifters to slow the car down. The engine light came on showing an oil change. Most likely they did not change the oil. I took the car to Les Schwab in Oregon. I was told the rotors were resurfaced too low and that was the reason I was not able to brake. Les Schwab replaced the rotors and problem solved. The next day I called the shop to complain, but the representative said the manager will call me back which he did, but I was not available at that time. I called him back and never returned my calls. Lesson learned, please don't take your car to this shop. They are not trustworthy. read more
