GOD WHY!?! Went to get my brakes changed here a month ago, started to squeak that day, I called them to find out if I should bring it back, they said it will take about 2 weeks to get the squeak out (sounded legit). 2 weeks pass and they say it takes 500 miles... 1000 miles and a month later I return it and they told me that my axel is what's squeaking, apparently it's chipped and that they can fix it. (or was their shatty work what cracked it?) How can this place still be open! The place is due for a review by their corporate office. The way that they assume that you don't know anything about cars when you bring them here is insulting. Was being "helped" by Jordan who looked half asleep most of the day and was confused when I called about how busy they were, but was pushing really hard to prove me wrong about my car. In the end frustrated and out 10 hours of my life and still have a car that squeaks. Don't come here. BUT...and it's a very BIG BUT... if you have to work with Noe, the others are not very good at customer service... never had to tell someone to listen to me so many times before they stopped talking over the phone as I did with Jordan. read more

I've been here a couple of times and they have a pretty nice set up going on. The first time I came here my sister was getting new tires. It was rainy season and her tires were bald, so she bought 2 new tires and they did the switch. They also noticed her taillight was out, so we bought it and they also installed it for a small fee. The service dept is hit or miss. I wouldn't say it's excellent, but it's not bad. The 2nd time I came here were for some parts for my toyota. Went to the parts department and the manager was working the station. Apparently they were short staffed and it was busy, so she was all over the place. She gave great recommendations on the brakes I needed and was very helpful. I can't remember her name but she was very friendly, and even rang up my order. The 3rd time I came here most recently with my sister we picked up some artic freeze for her car's ac system. It was easy to find...right in the aisle...damn marketing tactics...also, one of the employees came and talked to us for a bit. We asked if the service dept could install it, but they charge a lot, so we left to do it ourselves. There's a lot going on here, and the employees are nice, but service could have been better on my 1st and 3rd visit...like I said hit or miss. read more

George who helped me was pretty amazing. I had a battery that I wasn't even sure was dead . He took the time to check it for free even though I said I might go somewhere else as they did not have the Land Rover gel battery I needed. That got my attention in a good way. I had him order it and got it changed the next day. The cost was $ 450 which was a shock but that's how much these things are in a pandemic. read more

I took my car in for an oil change and was pleasantly surprised by the service I received. The manager was super nice and even noticed I had a nail in my tire and had the mechanics take it out for me. Upon paying he even let me know that Pep Boys offered discounts and so I even was able to save money! I sustained a flat at work and was in dire need of a tire repair shop that was opened after 6pm. After inflating my car to get me home, I happen to drive by PepBoys and noticed that they were still opened. I had called Costco earlier, but they said there was a 2 hour wait. So I pulled into PepBoys and they immediately started working on fixing my tire. The guys were fantastic and very professional and helped me get out of a bind quick. I think the mechanic spent about 20 minutes fixing the slash on my tire and didn't even have to unmount my tires to patch it up. All in all, the charge was just $10 because I happen to have a PepBoys loyalty card holder. read more

I wish I had read the yelp reviews before going to this place. Working with them has been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. I regret ever taking my car to this store and will never be returning. I brought my car in to get an axel replaced in May. After that my car started slowly leaking transmission fluid. I brought the car to my mechanic in Oregon who told me that it was likely caused to changing the axel. As soon as I returned from Oregon I brought my car to have them fix it. They fixed the leak but charged me for it!!! I am extremely disappointed by my experience and will be telling everyone to NOT use their services. read more

They said it would take 2 hours to which I reluctantly agreed and when I came back 3 hours later they had not even started working on the car. Moreover, the Hispanic woman at the front has no business working a customer service job. She was the rudest person I have come across and did not apologize once for her screw up which resulted in me waiting an absurd amount of time. They told me that my car needed a major repair that will cost 1000 or more , I took the car to BMW dealership where I bought my car and they told me that the car doesn't need any service . Their service is horrible the manager (woman) refused to let one of the service man to check on my tires a week ago. My car said one of the tires needed air. They told me to comeback in an hour or two and they were nice t busy. They lied and advise you for service that is not needed. They are very rude. I had purchased a new car battery from Pep Boys back in September 2019 and had a warranty on the purchase. My car battery had died; when I went out of town for 2 months (I already figured it would have RIP due to me being gone). I thought a jump and letting it run for about 30 minutes would do the trick. IT DIDN'T! So, the Honda Assist guy recommended I get a new battery. Since I got my battery from Pep Boys, I was taking my car there. I came in and they took care of everything! I was in and out in about 30 minutes. I was truly impressed with the service and I didn't have to pay anything (yall better get these warranties, it will save you $$ in the long run, TRUST)!! Very courteous and professional! I would HIGHLY recommend this location! I came here on Sunday the 7th to get my back-break light fixed, which is basically a change of a light bulb. My day started as such...... I parked in the back where the repairs are done and made eye contact with 3 men who didn't say a word to me. No greetings, no can I help you' s, nothing! I then had to walked to the employee (who kept walking and didn't stop at all) and ask him for help. Such bad customer service within mins of being there already. I told him what I wanted to do and he said to go inside to tell the cashier. It only got worst after that..... So I went inside to the repair section of the place and there were two guys talking...talking for about 10mins while I stood there looking totally stupid. Finally, one of the guys looked at me and said do you need help? Mind you, I wasn't greeted and they both looked at me like I was bothering them!!! I almost cursed him out, but I said yes. He then looked at me like he was confused as to why I didn't come to the counter. Before he could say something else to me to make my blood boil, I said that you both were talking, and I wasn't greeted so no I am NOT going to bombarded on a conversation. I then told the employee that I needed my back-break light repaired and he said, "IT WILL TAKE 4 HOURS". I said why and he said because he has appointments that comes first. Now as a business, the jobs that the other customers needs probably takes about 2-4 hours to do. My job takes about 10 mins if that to change a bulb. Why not take me really quick, take my money so I can be on my way. This place should have a sign outside that reads "By appointment ONLY" because taking walks in for something as simple as a light bulb change isn't going to happen. This is probably the worst Pep Boys I have ever been to in my entire life! I think if the customer service was excellent, I would be ok with them not having time to assist my issue with my car. I've had my brakes checked twice and replace at this and the similar valley pep boys. While the customer service is decent, if lacking and slow at points, the repairs were ridiculous!! Saying the front brakes are new but no one knows why they re making noise is not idea, nor reassuring. If it wasn't for the watery on their brake repairs I'd I gone a long time ago to a business that did thins right the first time and not in several hours. Took my car three hours for a brake replacement the last time. And I saw four mechanics just laughing and hanging out while my car was hoisted up waiting to be serviced. I've been meaning to write this review for a couple of weeks regarding my need for brake repair. I live about 2 hours outside of Los Angeles and on the way to visit a friend in Van Nuys, my brakes clearly were struggling. I was only there for 24 hours and had to replace my pads and rotors before getting back on the road on Sunday. I couldn't find anyone who would assist me in my dilemma, until I contacted Mauricio at Pep boys who was helpful and accommodating. Upon arriving at the shop, Fred took over and was incredibly professional and super nice. As it was a bit of an unexpected expense, Fred also took the effort to make sure a discount coupon was applied (which I wasn't aware was available), and because I was in a crunch for time, he also ensured the work was taken care of quickly and efficiently. I made appointment 2 days ago to get my oil changed at 8 AM this morning, when they first opened. Even though I had to wait 10 minutes as there was no one at the counter when they first opened. I was promised a wait time of no more than 45 minutes to an hour. I got my truck back as promised. I suggest anyone wanting to get out of there in a timely fashion to make an appointment. And be the first one in ! One other note, is the manager could lighten up a bit and be a little nicer to the customers -he just seems kind of rough around the edges. read more

I spoke to them and told them I needed a transmission fluid flush, oil change and bulb replacement for a headlamp. When I arrived, they told me I should take my car to a transmission mechanic, instead. Ok, so that leaves me with just an oil change and bulb replacement... Easy peasy macaroni cheesy... right? Naw.... I've been here for 90 minutes, and my car still hasn't been brought in to the mechanic's shop area, even though I see at least two open bays, available. Sigh.... I got my brakes done here, both front and rear. I did not have an appointment. The service manager, Susannah, helped me. She was polite and knowledgeable about what needed to be done. She indicated that the rotors on the front were worn to the point they needed to be replaced (I assumed this because my brakes were grinding for a few days). I asked if the parking brake pad(s) need(ed) replacement and she found out it wasn't necessary - some places may tell you it does in order to charge you more, but not here. The estimated time and cost was exactly as promised. Great customer service, reasonable prices, and reliable repair work. I highly recommend this place. I discovered Susannah is the new service manager transferred over from another large auto repair chain and is trying to make the location better. Kudos - keep up the good work. read more

Terrible service! Latino managers work slowly, without appreciating the client's business ... My appointment was at 9 o'clock in the morning ... the manager took the keys, but no one proceeded to fix the new brakes that were under warranty and creaked right after replacing them with new ones ... It turns out I paid about $ 725 for bad replacement of the brakes and wasted time! I made a new appointment to replace the brakes, but the workers worked slowly, lazily and tried to kick me out in a rude way! My working day is gone! I don't recommend to fix your car here ! I recently went here today for a simple oil change done by a George T. under the service manager Fred Tarverdian. The service took less than an hour and they sent us on our way. However, when I was driving on the freeway back home, I discovered the oil tray had not been put back on correctly and was being dragged under my car. I quickly pulled off the freeway to call the store and people who had serviced my car and have received very little response nor a refund for the botched job. Hmm. Surprised to see such a Low rating on Yelp. I took my 4Runner in for Breaks. I advised I have a long drive to do in a few days. I initially spoke to Fred. I scheduled with Martha. I had the pads replaced and the team stated my routers didn't need a resurface (turning) and that my 4Runner was ready. The next day, breaking still felt a tad off so off I went to bring my 4Runner back to them. Vasken contacted me few hours after I dropped of my vehicle and said some different information. Naturally I was way concerned but with Vascan hearing my concern and understanding I need to be safe when traveling, he stopped me and corrected the error without me even asking. He ended the issue with correct customer service so thank you Vascan for extending the correct assistance and level of customer service that I personally am used to from Peps Boy's. read more

It doesn't surprise me at all that they only have 2 stars, because I had an awful experience with this shop yesterday while dealing with a flat tire. It started with the two representatives in the front at the tire area who were extremely unfriendly and not helpful. They were so hard to even communicate with and I explained I had to be at work so if they could let me know any updates ASAP I would really appreciate it. Instead the girl sat on her phone and they chatted while I watched to see if my car was being worked on, what the issue was and when it would be done. I had to keep coming up to their desk and ask because they did not have any urgency for their job. I am totally appalled at their lack of customer service. I don't recommend this place, I'm so angry after going here, I could spit nails - literally. My low-pressure tire light came on and this place was on my way home. I thought they would be a decent business I could take my car to. They're not. The TPMS Light came on the night before as I was driving home from work. I made it all the way home, to work the next day and halfway home to this location to have them check my tires. I've had nails in a tire before. If I'd had a nail in my tire I wouldn't have been able to drive as much as I did if that were true. 75 miles for 1 1/2 days which included driving on the freeway going 70 mph and nothing happened. How is it possible there was a nail in the tire the whole time? When I got there I told the man I thought it was probably low pressure in my tires and if they could take a look. I was hoping that the tires were a little low and needed some air. The man asked if they found a nail in the tire would I want them to go ahead and patch up the tire when they did find it. I told him to look first and then I'd make up my mind later. The way he said it made it sound like he was certain there would be a nail in my tire. How was he so certain there was going to be a nail in my tire? I was suspicious the minute he started filling out the paperwork before he even went to look at the tires. I think they intentionally punctured my tire with a nail and it seems as if they intentionally take advantage of women who bring their cars to them. Even after they patched up my tire the tire pressure monitoring light is still on and the man said it should turn off after driving it around for a while. What? If you fixed the tire the light should turn off. Did they put air in the tire? Why is the light still on? Unless you can't do the job and you don't know what you're doing then the light will still be on. They know once they have the nail in your tire you're going to need it patched up. It seemed like a very well rehearsed routine procedure to fleece people out of their money and time. The worst part is they're willing to damage a perfectly good tire just to get $20 out of you. Worst service ever!!!! Had a 3pm appointment, it took them 30 minutes to check me in and they told me my car would be ready at 5pm. By 6:20 I had not heard from them so I called in and they said my car hasn't even been started on and to leave it overnight. I said that wouldn't work for me and they said ok, someone will get started on it now. 10 minutes later they called me back and said they don't have the right oil for my car and they can't do the work. So I come to pick up my car and they said they already emptied the oil from my car so I have to wait 30min. This place is a joke. No consideration for people's time or any apology for any of the inconvenience. The workers are incompetent and conveniently there was no manager on site. Kaitlyn and Richard are quite possibly the worst customer service representatives I have ever encountered in my life. Update: Pep Boys employees have now voted my review as "funny". Last night I was filling up at Costco and discovered a nail in my right front tire. I drive to Pepboys because they are right in the same parking lot. They took my information, car key, and estimated the wait would be an hour and a half. I arrived at 5:30pm. At 7:00pm, I inquired into the status of the repair. The service guy couldn't find my paperwork. He looked through several packets of information, the stepped into the service area to talk to the mechanic. After some time he calls me into the service area. He said no one completed the paperwork, the tire still had air (I'd filled it that morning) and he wouldn't charge me for the repair. Plus, he said he'd give me the year warranty for the repair. I thought that was great, at the time. Today, my tire pressure light came on, again. I drove to Pep Boys near my home. According to the Pep Boys in Thousand Oaks, they do not have access to my repair records from other Pep Boys. The night before they pulled my records up just fine. Nifty. I noticed that the nail is still in the tire. I'm now at Just Tires getting the tire repaired that Pep Boys claimed to have repaired last night. That's an hour and a half I'll not get back. Save your money, goto Just Tires or Americas Tires. Their service is ten stars in comparison to Pep Boys, who deserve a negative score. Bad form. read more

I am so furious with Pep Boys for wasting my time. I made an appointment online and put what I needed done. The appointment system online said they would call me to clarify what services I needed, they never did. So I show up at 7:50 am to drop my car off for my 8 am appointment. My husband is with me so I can leave my car and he can drive me to work before going to work himself. When we walk in, there are 3 people in line in front of me and ONE slow person checking everyone in. It took me OVER 30 minutes to get to the front of the line, only to be told they don't perform the services I need on my car (brake and light certifications). Okay, this sucks, can you at least do my smog check? "My technician isn't here today". Um okay. Thanks for never calling to clarify your services, when you tell me you will, and for making me wait 30 minutes past my appointment time just to tell me you can't perform the services I need.
