iced americano with oat milk and lavender syrup

I LOVED this space's vibe--so much lighting, open windows, and places to gather and study. My coffee was good, and I appreciated the pour-your-own oat milk! It doesn't beat Vester for me, but I would come back!

I still haven't tried the food here but I've had their lattes a couple of times and have enjoyed them. The syrup flavor comes through without making the coffee overly sweet, and the espresso is strong! The place gets pretty packed during the weekends and the line to the baristas can take a while. I stopped by on a Saturday morning and it took me about 30 minutes total to wait in line, order, then get my coffee to go. Like others have mentioned, there is plenty of seating including a quiet area in their back room.

Great spot to get some work done or just hang out with a book! We came earlier on a Tuesday morning and were easily able to grab a spot. It got way busier around 9-9:30am so I'd recommend coming early, especially if you're with other people. There are outlets spread out around, although some areas I couldn't see one nearby, like the seats by the window right next to the door. There are also gender neutral restrooms down the hall by the counter. I got an iced matcha latte and a pastry, both of which I enjoyed. The prices aren't too bad either. I'd definitely come back in the future!

A cafe by day and a brewery by night! They have a lot of spread out seating and charging ports (which I appreciate) and you can see this is a go-to spot for people working on their laptops during the day. I spent a couple hours there working on my laptop - and it wasn't too loud with the great background music and good lighting. I ordered the classic vanilla latte and it was SO GOOD. It might be one of the best lattes I've tried in Mass. They have a large array of food items too and they all looked and smelled so good. I will definitely try their food next time and might also come by for Lamplighter beer. -9/10

Bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich

4.5/5 Always end my Boston trip with a visit to Pepita for their egg, bacon, and cheese breakfast sandwich. Spacious with spots to sit and play board games or do some studying. There's a quieter space in the back for a more focused environment. Just a note, there are 2 bathrooms with multiple stalls and both are gender neutral. So don't be surprised when you go in and see someone that doesn't identify like you (like the person who got shy when they saw me exiting and decided not to go anymore... hey it's okay, we all need to go)

A combo between a cafe and a bar, it is a great space to take friends or do some work solo. Variety of high top seating, table seating, benches, and standing room. They have some seasonal drinks in addition to their regular menu. Expect it to be crowded when you go and prepare to stand around for a little before you snatch a seat for yourself.

PRO TIP: Get there early for a seat of your choice. Overall, solid spot. Don't be nervous if you see a lot of brewing equipment. You're in the right place! Cafe in the morn and pub when the sun goes down. First off - polite staff and solid drinks. I really enjoyed their seasonal options and would recommend it others that a tinge of creative drinks. Ambiance is great. Good vibes. You can definitely tell it's bar at night which gives you room to enjoy some personal space. There are also some communal spaces. If you are planning to stay there for a while with an electronic that needs to be charged, you'll more likely to find an electrical outlet away from the high-stool areas. They tend to be around the wooden tables or the separated room with unique furniture. Bathroom is also available down a little alley past the ordering area. Have fun!

I love Pepitas coffee. The fact that it's a coffee shop in the morning and a brewery in the evening is such a cool vibe. It's the perfect place to come in the morning to grab some breakfast and chill with friends or even read a book or catch up on some errands. I love sitting by the window and people watching while enjoying my coffee flights. I got the matcha latte with oat milk. It's much better than most lattes I've gotten but I wish it was a tiny bit sweeter. The matcha flavor definitely came thru though making it the perfect rainy day drink

5 stars for ambience, 2.5 stars for food. This is the perfect place to come and work on a weekday - it's quiet, airy, spacious, and clean! The space is beautiful and the service is great too. Unfortunately, the food / drinks are not great. Perhaps it's because the menu is so extensive and the space does so much in a given day since it doubles as a brewery at night. I tried the iced cappuccino, avocado toast, and croissant sandwich, and the quality really doesn't compare to what you'd get at a Tatte or a Blue Bottle. That said, I'd definitely return to grab a tea and spend an afternoon working or catch up with a friend.

I loved Longfellows, the previous coffee shop in this space shared with Lamplighter Brewery, and am still a fan of Pepita, the brewery's own venture into coffee and food. Much of the staff is the same, with the main change being a real food program in the form of breakfast tacos. The drinks remain on point, and I still quite enjoy the matcha and chai lattes (by Mem Tea) and espresso drinks (by Barrington and other local craft roasters). They no longer carry almond milk, which is a bit sad to me, but oat and soy milks are still good vegan options. The tacos satisfy and are decently priced for a non-SoCal place. You can request corn tortillas to make them gluten free, and they are also easy to make dairy-free as well without cheese and crema. Although my tacos tend to look sparser than my friends' since they're stripped of most of their toppings (see the photos), I still find them tasty. The avocado tostada remains my favorite, with a thick slather of spiced mashed avocado accompanied by the crunch of pepitas and tartness from pickled onions (which I usually don't like, but I like them here). I've seen some gluten and dairy free My friends have also really enjoyed the carnitas and egg taco on flour tortillas. The Tall Man often gets the cold brew flight, which you can order at the bar. The place has kept its fun atmosphere, with lots of types of seating and board games to play. It still gets pretty crowded, especially on weekends and once Lamplighter starts serving beer (around 3pm on weekdays), so it's not the best place for groups, unless you really time it right. Getting there early with just a couple people seems to work well, though.

Very nice ambiance. They have a diversity of drinks, pastries, and hot breakfast items. It is a little pricy but items like the banana bread and the passion fruit dessert were very good. The staff were welcoming and quick. Would come again.

This coffee place is inside Lamplighter Brewery, perfect for a morning coffee and snack. I picked up a coffee in the morning, it was pretty easy to order and they accept Apple Pay. The best part is that the menu is simple and short, which I absolutely appreciate because you don't get confused on what to get. It is also a reasonable price.

The barista was really nice and their breakfast sandwich was very delicious. There is also plenty of space inside for people to study/work.

Open window seating near the entrance.

They seem to have gotten rid of their outdoor ordering and pick-up, and also don't pick up the phone when you call to ask about it.

I enjoyed my dinner at Highland Kitchen!…read more This was my first stop with a friend after landing in Boston. I live for Creole food so I loved seeing Creole options on the menu. The cocktail and beer selection was also nice. Service was also super attentive to my food allergy. Solid option in Somerville.

Upon entry, it was very busy. We put our names on the list and we were told that our wait would be 25-35 minutes. Our luck continued as we only waited 15 minutes before being escorted to a booth. As I said earlier, it was busy and you could tell the wait staff was working to keep everyone happy! We were given menus and quickly asked what we would like to drink. The drinks were on our table in no time! We ordered one appetizer (buffalo fried brussel sprouts) and it came pretty quickly! I am not a big fan but my son and wife loved it! They raved about the seasoning and taste of the sprouts! (see picture) We put our orders in for dinner after finishing the sprouts. I ordered steak tips with frieds and ceasar salad, we had pan roasted flattened half chicken and a shaved kale and brussels salad to top things off. The food was delivered to our table in managable time. I would say 15 minutes from the time we ordered. The food was delicious and serving size was perfect. All three of were happy with our choices. The steak tips were perfect for me.....cooked medium well and juicy! We finished our dinner off with a dessert that my wife had heard of and wanted to order. I did not have any, but they raved about it! The Banana Break pudding was out of this world! I wish I saved some room as the smell was delicious and the size was perfect! WOW! Price- average Parking- seems to be enough spots on Highland Ave Vibe- a local bar with great food...lots of families Would I come back? For sure...I am looking forward to a visit before the Holiday season! I really like the way the entire place is set up....inviting and welcoming! 5 stars from me!

TL;DR - if you are from Bombay, are craving that specific Bombay Chinese food taste, and Vada Pav - look no further - this is the place. Most of their staff are fellow Mumbaikars - shout out to Shiv, Dhvani, and Ronak! Shiv, our server was friendly and our hungry table got straight to ordering which included a flavor packed and well priced Lychee Martini ($10), Masala Chai Hot Toddy ($12), and Spicy 'Lil Rita ($12) - being the best one! Food included some well name dishes like Kashmiri Deviled Eggs ($12), Vada Pav ($12), Rasam Risotto ($15), Butter Chicken Pot Pie ($20), Chicken Steak with Makhani Sauce ($18), Street Fried Noodles ($16), and Penne Pasta with Chicken for the kiddos. Food just hits the right spots and is very flavorful, extremely well seasoned, and perfectly spiced. Interiors and their bar is very inviting. Noise levels during our stay were on the lower end. Service was excellent. What was refreshing was they didn't charge us any automatic gratuity even for our large group - but absolutely deserved a generous one! Highly highly recommend if flavorful food is your thing!

We were part of a large group (12 diners) for a pre-wedding dinner/party…read more Except for the couple getting married, I believe the rest of our party were the only out-of-towners dining that evening. This is a pub-type atmosphere with a full-service, large bar serving cocktail specials and a gazillion draft beer options. There is a street-side patio if you wish to watch the people and cars at Davis Square. Five Horses serves American comfort food, and they do a pretty good job serving up their offerings. I ordered the steak tips, and they were OK. They were served Med/rare, as ordered, but they did need a bit more seasoning. Plus one ordered a steak salad, and it was OK. They were pretty frugal with the protein, and it came with an abundance of tomatoes. Another guest split a cobb salad it arrived without some ingredients, like bacon. Other diners stated that their dinners were excellent, so 4 stars seems about right. Even though they were very busy, our table was well taken care of throughout the evening. If I lived here, this would be in my rotation for a brew or two, catch a game, and enjoy a burger.

I saw it (flank steak,…read morechimmichurri sauce, mashed potatoes, and broccoli) at $29 and said I haven't ordered a steak in while, let's treat myself. Boy was I disappointed, it was literally four tiny slices of beef, about a ladle and a half of mashed potatoes (flavor was great but the texture was dry and it was hard to swallow), and the broccoli was broccoli. The steak was cooked to my liking (rare) but it was room temp and I would describe that serving size as maybe the equivalent of a medallion. Everything else our table ordered (pizza, shepherd's pie, and a burger) looked great but the flank steak is not it y'all. However the service was top notch and will definitely go back, just won't order the flank steak next time!
