    Mapo tofu
    Anushka M.

Good Sichuan spot in midtown! We got some classics like cucumber salad, mapo tofu and green peppercorn chicken which I loved. I also really liked the fried noodles with chicken. The truffle fried rice was very truffle heavy so if you're a fan of that you'll love it. Service was great and our dishes came quick and served hot. Overall it has all the classics and a good variety.

Peppercorn Station completely lived up to the hype. Everything we ordered was packed with flavor, but the standouts were definitely the crab meat sauce noodles and the lobster, easily the best part of the meal. The cucumber salad was super refreshing and balanced out the richer dishes perfectly. You can really tell why this spot made the Michelin Guide. The quality, presentation, and flavors were all incredible. Definitely one of the best meals I've had recently and I'll 100% be back.

A solid 3.5-4 star experience. I did find the mung bean noodles wayyyyyyy too salty. The sauce for the chili chicken was also too salty! My main concern was that this food would have MSG in it. I walked in at 8, and at 8:15 when there were still customers they started making louder noise and cleaning up. At 8:30 I felt I had to leave, even though I did finish my food. The food was decent, however nothing spectacular or memorable. This area is full of Szechuan food- maybe look elsewhere. I did find this one on the Michelin Guide, but some of their recommendations are lackluster.

It was crowded when I went there so it took a long time, about 45 minutes for someone to take my order. But despite the long wait time the place seems to be very popular. The food was good. I order the crab white rice. I did not expect to like it be it was delicious. I also got the pepper beef. I am very picky when ordering beef, but that dish was very good and flavorful. The beef was not tough to chew. I also couldn't leave without some fried noodles. It's a nice spot to eat dinner solo or with friends.

I've been wanting to check this place out after learning that it was on the Michelin guide, and it did not disappoint. We ordered the green peppercorn boiled beef and the sliced pork belly with garlic chili sauce. True to its name, the peppercorn flavor really stands out for the peppercorn boiled beef, and it packed a punch of flavors making you want to come back for more. The sliced pork belly is a classic Sichuan dish and the peanut sauce it came with had a nice balance of spiciness, sweetness and savory. The service is excellent. Our waiter checked in on our multiple times throughout the course of the meal and we got complimentary orange slices at the end.

Michelin Guide Authentic Sichuan Secrets! Glad I found this hidden gem! From tender Mouth-Watering Chicken in bold chili sauce to melt-in-your-mouth Braised Beef with Potato, every dish is a flavor adventure. Dive into silky Crab Meat Sauce Noodles and finish with the perfectly balanced Sweet & Sour Fish -- a mix of spice, umami, and tangy goodness. Sichuan like you've never tasted before! Had lunch menu and it did not disappoint! Both dishes flavorful and well executed. Spicy beef with potatoes where excellent, beef super tender while potatoes at the right cooking point. String beans were ordered not spicy and they were rightly cooked. Loved that it came with side dish and steamed rice

Black Truffle Sauce Fried Rice (on top) Beef in Sour Soup (on bottom) Both 100% fantastic!!

One of the best meals I had in NY! This is a place I'd definitely come back for. The truffle fried rice was fantastic, and the sour beer soup was very spicy and delicious -- I would go back just for that again and again. The service is prompt, and the place feels cozy and lively. If I lived nearby, I'd be exploring the whole menu! This spot may not be for everyone, but certain dishes like the truffle fried rice would likely win anyone over. It's also pretty cost-effective by New York standards -- less than $50 for two of us. Very much recommended, especially if you like Koreanish food. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the city. Happy eating!!

This is their Kung Pao Chicken. It is $23 and you have to pay $2 for rice. This one was just okay. First of all, it's in a very gloopy far too sweet sauce that just makes me feel like there was too much corn starch used, zero Wokhei, they don't use any sichuan peppercorns and you get less food than spots like Szechuan Gourmet or Pig Heaven. The only saving grace is that, at least they didn't use any bell peppers, onions or celery. So it was all chicken, peanuts and chili peppers but far too saucy and that buried it for me.

Super tasty food, very nice ambience, super friendly staff. A must go and we will go there many more times.

Solid Sichuan food in mid town. We got a variety of dishes. Very flavorful, slightly saltier, though we probably didn't get enough rice. Loved their sour fish soup - seemed slightly more sweet than other's I've tried. Great presentation and fast service.

If you're a fan of Sichuan cuisine, you need to know about 青花椒 (Sichuan peppercorn). This unique spice is essential in Sichuan cooking, offering a numbing heat and citrusy aroma that creates a bold, tingling sensation with a sweet aftertaste--defining the region's signature flavors. Sichuan cuisine is about more than just "spicy"--it's about the balance of spiciness and fragrance. While many people associate it with extreme heat, it's not just about being ridiculously spicy like other similar restaurants. If you're expecting food loaded with MSG and a straightforward, overpowering spice, without the layers and depth of flavor that define Sichuan food, this restaurant might not be for you and you won't be able to appreciate its offering. Peppercorn Station is hands down the best place in Manhattan to experience the full power of peppercorn in dishes. Their signature dishes are authentic and incredibly delicious, and even the desserts are top-notch. Here are some must-try items: Sliced Beef and Ox Tongue in chili Sauce 夫妻肺片 Mouth watering chicken with chili sauce 口水雞 Sliced pork belly with garlic chili sauce 蒜泥白肉 Hot and sour Glass noodles 酸辣粉 Mala Whole fish 青花椒跳水魚 Sweet and sour whole fish 鮮果糖醋魚 They use sea bass for whole fish fishes, the fish is always fresh. Beef in sour pickle soup 酸湯肥牛 Beef Tripe with duck blood tofu 毛血旺 Spicy pork intestine 香辣肥腸 Crab meat tofu 蟹粉豆腐 Mapo tofu 麻婆豆腐 Minced pork with pickle 酸豆角炒肉末 Double cooked pork 回鍋肉 Pepper garlic cabbage 手撕包菜 Sautéed string beans 干煸四季豆 Fried rice with black trufflesauce 黑松露炒飯 Stew lamb soup 羊肉爐 - it's my favorite! Bing Fen 冰粉 Brown sugar fried sticky rice cake 红糖糍粑 Peppercorn Station really shines when it comes to service. The staff takes great care of everyone, from elders to kids, making sure everyone feels at home. Whether it's offering great recommendations, accommodating special requests, or just creating a welcoming vibe, they go the extra mile to make sure everyone has a great experience. It's this kind of thoughtful service that makes dining there so enjoyable for the whole family.

    Rainy day lunch
    May L.

Decided I wanted something spicy on a rainy afternoon so I placed a pickup order for lunch. The place is called peppercorn for a REASON...the mapo tofu was loaded with Sichuan peppercorn heat that the first bite had my mouth immediately tingling. I loved it, this is my new mapo tofu spot! My total came out to $14.15 and they give you a drink and a side of pickled radish (probably to cool your mouth down). Service was nice & the place was clean and quiet, which I love. Maybe I'll dine in for a relaxing lunch one day. 'Til next time!

The mapo tofu, green beans, twice cooked pork, and spicy (lazi) chicken were very flavorful. I thought the mala levels were just right, but it may be on a bit on the lighter side compared to authentic. They don't take online reservations for groups over 5, so we called to make one for our group of 6. It was pretty busy Friday night, so would recommend. The service was great; they drew the cutest card when they found out it was my brother's birthday and let us bring a cake. And they also offered hair ties to the people with long hair. I wish the sauce was sweeter though since the flavor was more j spicy/ salty. I think a different sauce like a hoisin chili combo would make the dish a lot tastier. The sour cabbage beef soup was interesting! It tasted nice and beefy, but was a bit too sour for me. The lemon dessert was my favorite! Came here with two other friends for dinner and we pigged out. We started off with Scallion Pancake with Shredded Duck ($15), which tasted amazing. The pancake was flaky and not overly soaked in oil, while the duck meat enhanced the taste. I think everything should order this for the table. We also got the Dan Dan Noodles w Minced Pork ($8), which is a staple dish in Sichuan cuisine. Make sure you stir the bowl to mix the sauce and minced pork. For veggies, we got the Sautéed Green Beans With Eggplant ($18), which tasted great. I usually get sautéed pea shoots for a veggie dish, but this was worth ordering as the eggplant tasted great along with the green beans. For entrees, we got the Spicy Green Pepper Fish Filet ($28 for filet). A classic Cantonese dish that comes with bok choy, so it turns out I didn't really need to order a veggie dish. Delicious. We also tried the OOHU Mao Xue Wang ($34), which may be one of the most spiciest dish available on the menu. This dish combines blood curd from a duck, tripe, and chicken gizzards along with other organs into a simmered broth containing chilis and peppercorns. They also use spam, vermicelli noodles, mushroom, and other things. If you're adventurous and you like spicy, I would recommend this. Best eaten with a cup of rice. Service is great as our server made good recommends and was overall friendly. They also have a party room you can book, which sounded pretty affordable. Don't recall what their minimum spend was, but it was super reasonable compared to a lot of other spots in Chinatown and Flushing.

Many spicy food options since this is a Szechuan spot afterall. Some dishes were a bit too salty and spicy, which they did discount after we brought it to their attention. Overall, decent spot and good for large groups. Otherwise, I didn't find this spot to be too memorable (not bad, not great).

I really needed it at that point, so shoutout to Kayla behind the bar. My Big Bro arrived looking handsome as heck and scanned the menu. I let him take the wheel because he is big bro and is one of the harshest critics of Chinese food you've ever seen, as he is from Taiwan. He is once quoted as saying "if the server doesn't speak Mandarin I will just turn around and walk out..." After asking the server hundreds of questions in the beautiful Mandarin language, he decided on chicken wings, spicy wontons, soup dumplings, fried rice, yellow beef, and the Xiang River Fish. After we destroyed everything that was put in front of us he turned to me and said "this place is actually solid." For him to say a Chinese restaurant in New York is "solid" is like me saying I just had the best meal of my entire life. My favorite was the Xiang River Fish, as the seabass was cooked to perfection and had a nice spicy kick, without having a spice level that would have me talking to god.
