Pepper's is one of those local diners you just can't get enough of. Close to our hotel and backed by great reviews, we decided to check it out for breakfast--and it did not disappoint. The menu is everything you want from a classic diner. Traditional plates, Benedicts, skillets, pancakes, waffles, omelets, crepes, cakes, pies--you name it, they've got it. Comfort food heaven that hits every craving. We ordered the California Benedict, which was spot on and cooked to perfection. Hashbrowns were that perfect balance of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The California skillet was packed with crispy potatoes, bacon, eggs, and loaded with fresh, flavorful ingredients. Portions were huge and such a great value for the price. Service was friendly, fast, and welcoming. Food came out quickly and everything was hot and fresh. Overall, a fantastic breakfast spot--highly recommend if you're in the area.

Nice good old-fashioned diner near Cal Poly Humboldt. They have an amazing hot roast beef open-faced sandwich with garlic mashed potatoes. You hardly ever see that! The curly-seasoned fries were also really good, and the portions were great. Service was fast and friendly. Clean and well-maintained inside, too. We ordered the apple pie ala mode even though we were stuffed, and MAN, was it worth it! So good. We are from Silicon Valley, and this gem outshines the Palo Alto Creamery by at least 100 country miles. Worth the trip alone!

Stopped in breakfast recently on a rainy Sunday morning and the place was busy. The interior is an old school diner, the old village pantry with booths and tables. I was greeted within a minute and seated at the same time. Service is friendly and professional with a smile. I opted for the Eggs & Bacon breakfast, three eggs to order with four pieces of bacon, hash browns and choice of bread, I went for the biscuit and it was a good one. Eggs cooked pretty close, a little over but close enough, the bacon was good and not to crisp, the hash browns plentiful and a nice crunch but could of been crispier and the biscuit was really good. All in all a decent breakfast and fair value, service was good and prompt. 3.5 Stars rounded up for the smiling staff. 00940

Pepper's served classic diner food. Simple and made relatively well. My family ordered a variety of dishes and although nothing to write home about they all finished their meals. I ordered the steak and shrimp. I ordered my steak medium and it was cooked almost well done. Way over cooked. The steak was taken back for another to be prepared again. The steak came out and was still overdone. It had taken so long that I just ate the steak since most of my party was nearly done with their meals. The waitress saw how overcooked the steak was and tried to help as best as she could. If you like well done steak then Pepper's is definitely the place for you. Although my meal left a lot to be desired the service was outstanding. Viky was our server and she was polite, prompt, and very cheerful. Viky may be the best server I have ever had in my life. She is amazing and I would give Pepper's a second chance just because of the quality of her service. Great job Viky!

Great for a quick bite. I was really craving some eggs and this place was near my hotel. It's old and needs updating, smells a bit dingy as well but food and service was great, my coffee was refilled without me asking, what's there not to like about this place?

Three of us are on a road trip from Seattle to Modesto. We read the reviews and decided diner food was the choice for tonight. Large portions, good service, and tasty meals. Cobb salad, fish and chips, and grilled cheese and tomato sandwich. No one finished so consider sharing or ask for takeaway containers.

Excellent food and service. We were in Eureka area for three day and ate dinner there 2 nights. Had to go back after the first experience.

Super extensive menu and they also have cakes and baked goods as well which all look very enticing and delicious but I have not partaken. This menu is straight up huge though, like, anything you can think of it's probably up there. Ambiance is - well 1) i'm from a real city, so rating anything in humboldt on it's "ambiance" is a funny ask, but this place makes me feel like it's not illegal to be awake after midnight! So i'll take it. It's not like "cheap-cheap" but the food is good and you get what you pay for. Like, i'm poor, and I still wouldn't and don't complain about the prices cuz you get a lot of food, and it's all GOOD food, hella good, and they doing a real service to this otherwise completely dead after 6,7,8,9,pm ahh county/city/area by being open ALL THE TIME. Cheddar had hashbrowns, underdone and the cheese wasn't melted. I dont mean the omelet sat and the cheese got cold. It wasn't melted to begin with. Same with the cali omelet, cheese not melted. On the California omelet I had country potatoes, no seasoning, just bland. No flavor at all. We had English muffins, not toasted enough. The dessert case looked super yummy but after the bland bland food we passed. Staff was nice enough, you order at the counter and give a name. Surprise there were 2 people with the same name so someone else's food cane to our table first...it's going to have to be a hard pass.

Although we loved the old location and miss the piano they had there, the new location is a little hidden gem located in Sunny Brae. The deviled eggs are cooked, just right. I find this a dish where they are often too dense. But this restaurant does an amazing job with them.
