    Potato Flautas
    Sierra H.

Had the opportunity to try out Peps at a local farmers market in Upland and so glad we made the stop before heading out. I had the potato flautas their original way which consisted of their homemade green salsa, cotija cheese and onions. So simple but so AMAZING. Can't wait to go back again.

There is also some outdoor seating available to the left of the restaurant or at 1954 bakery. They offer the usual taco meats, burritos, and beer. We ordered two Baja Fish Burritos, what was supposed to be two California Burritos, and a churro. There was a mix-up with our order, but the staff was incredibly nice and ended up comping a California Burrito. In my eyes, the customer service was impeccable. The employees were constantly cleaning tables, picking up after guests, and helping everyone who came through the door. The atmosphere is very casual with a street-food vibe. If you don't want to wait for a seat, takeout, eating outside, or even enjoying your meal in your car are all good options. They also gave us complimentary churros in exchange for a review. The flavor was good, but the texture wasn't quite what we're used to. The inside was a little chewy and soft, whereas we prefer a crispier, hollow-style churro. As for the food, the Baja Fish Burrito was excellent--crispy fish with plenty of fresh vegetables. The California Burrito was also very tasty and packed with generous chunks of steak. The size of the burritos are pretty big. For the price point, service, and food quality, we would definitely come back.

The flavor profile here is definitely a bit smokier/charred compared to the Taco Stand spots down south, especially compared to La Jolla. There are slight variations in how some of the food is cooked and prepared, but it's not bad at all -- just different. If you come in expecting an exact replica, you may notice the differences. If you treat this location as its own thing, it's honestly really solid. Huge shoutout to Carlos at the register for the excellent customer service. We ordered food both for here and to-go, and everything was packed separately exactly how we asked. We also made a few modifications after placing the order, and Carlos went out of his way to track down our ticket and write the changes on it himself to make sure everything came out correctly. Food was still great, service was amazing, and we'd definitely come back again.

At the La Jolla location you can see the staff making the tortillas + churros and this location the tortillas were packaged. I'm not sure if they use the same ingredients but this could have changed the flavor profile. They were still yummy don't get me wrong but they just weren't as good as I remember them. I ordered chips and guac as well and the staff forgot to include it in my order so I had to go up to the counter another time which was quite a hassle given it's a very busy restaurant with the line out the door the entire time I was there. The salsa selection is rather nice especially when most restaurants are trying to cut down on salsa options + use the lower quality ingredients. You can tell the ingredients in the salsas were high + they even have a few creamy options which is hard to see at most Mexican restaurants these days. I do think the guac was a little limey but it wasn't bad when you added it to the tacos. If you go I would recommend you go with zero expectations of eating inside as there are about 5-6 tables + waiting a long time for your food. The beach is 10 steps away so you can always take your food to the beach too!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and they were pretty busy…read more I ordered carne asada tacos (can't go wrong with that) and chicharon tacos. And my boyfriend ordered a chicharon burrito. When ordering the lady asked my boyfriend if he was okay with cilantro, onions, rice okay in the burrito and he omitted the beans. One thing she never asked is we wanted hotsauce on the food. Because when I got my tacos and he got his burrito, it had hotsauce. I think this is something they should ask if you want when you are ordering. What if someone is ordering for a kid and they don't like hotsauce. I say this cos I don't like hotsauce. My boyfriend had to bring to back and they have new tacos with no hotsauce. Another thing that is a hit or miss here are the chicharon. Our chicharon was both crunchy and soft. I noticed it depends what time of day you go and you also know by how much chicharon they have left (you can see it on the display). I like how they have the toppings in a little bar where you can get (hot sauce, pickled jalapeños, cilantro and onions). It is a small restaurant. They have some seats indoor and outdoor. And they even have a tortilla lady in the corner making fresh tortillas.

This little hole in the wall taco shop is one of those spots you almost don't notice unless someone…read moretells you about it, but I'm glad I found it. The tacos are really good and packed with flavor, and the burritos are just as solid, big portions that actually fill you up without feeling overpriced. You definitely get your money's worth here, which is hard to find these days. One of the best parts is the salsa bar. They have a good variety of salsas, and all of them taste fresh and delicious, not watered down like some places. You can really customize your food depending on how spicy you like it. The only downside is there's no kids menu, so it might be tough if you have really picky eaters. But if you're just looking for good tacos, good burritos, fair prices, and a taco spot to grab a quick meal, this place is definitely worth checking out.

Found this gem of a taco spot that is just as good as the best I've had anywhere I've had in Southern California. They're usually open late, the portions are pretty darn large, and the prices are more than reasonable. They have a great assortment of toppings and salsas and make their tortillas fresh. This place pretty much checks all the important boxes for me personally when it comes to taco spots I love. I came here late at night and the line wasn't too crazy. Not as lively as more popular spots I've been to, but there were a few people in line. You do get the vibe that this spot is a favorite among locals. I ordered a vampiro (crunchier tortilla with a layer of caramelized cheese that holds the meat and toppings) with asada and two al pastor tacos. Usually, I can eat that easily, but with the portions here, it was a bit of a chore. The smoky flavors and fresh toppings and salsa were all on point. The horchata I got to wash everything down was also very good. A true gem of a spot in the Inland Empire.
