Long overdue review. Great food, drinks, and friendly/helpful staff. We stopped in for a late lunch. Tried a couple of Mango Margaritas and the following: Deep Fried Carnitas, Enchiladas de Camaron, and a Cheese Enchilada a la carte. Everything was well prepared and very flavorful. Unfortunately, my 90-year-old mother-in-law was not feeling well and got sick, but not from anything we drank or ate here. The reason I mention this is that the staff jumped into action to assist with clean-up and even helped us get her out to our car safely. That's going the extra mile...great service! read more

We went in last night specifically for the pozole, and unfortunately it was one of the worst pozole experiences we've had. Our bowls were basically broth and a bone. There was hardly any meat on the bone, and I'm not exaggerating when I say there were maybe two pieces of hominy in the entire bowl. How do you serve pozole with no hominy? We mentioned it to two different waitresses. We were told, "We're sorry. Can we get you something else or take it off the bill?" We politely declined getting something else, but after acknowledging how bad the pozole was and offering to remove it, it was still left on our bill. I understand that sometimes a dish just doesn't come out right, but the way it was handled made the experience even more disappointing. If a customer brings up a legitimate issue with their food--especially when the bowl is clearly missing one of the main ingredients--I would expect the restaurant to make it right without the customer having to keep asking. The only positive part of the meal was the chips--they were fresh and really good. Unfortunately, we came for pozole, and what we were served was nowhere near what pozole should be. Who said Rancho Cucamonga doesn't have good Mexican food!?!? I did! But then I came to Cocina Serrano y Cantina, and they proved me wrong! I initially came in craving ceviche and a michelada. Unfortunately the ceviche was not finished being prepared, but the michelada was ready to dance. It was delicious and hit the spot! I ended up going with Camarones A La Diabla (extra spicy) It was Extremely flavorful!!! The bartender Luis was nice and attentive, and made a damn good michelada! Came in for dinner with my family was instantly greeted and asked for our drink order. The server was great and efficient with Bringing our food drinks etc.! Chips and salsa were very good! My parents god the chicken fajitas which were okay.... the chicken tasted a bit weird so they didn't eat but two or three pieces of it. My dad got a chili relleno which he said was very tasty! I ordered the garlic shrimp which I was a bit surprised as my garlic sauce has never tasted like burnt oil at other places but here it did and usually my garlic is minced here it was big chunks which I don't care much for. The beans tasted extremely weird almost as if they were old but little usually loves beans but took one bite and that was it she said she didn't like them and they tasted weird! So if we didn't care much for the food why the three stars you ask? The service was great that's why the three stars but the food I would rate a 1, you can fix food but you can't fix great service! read more

I have been here many times before. I haven't been where both the owners have not been present. I must say our experience with this new waiter was not good at all. He didn't even bring us chips not until Jaime arrived he was a gentleman and attentive but the other one, he was short with me and not very professional. We came with my dementia mother-in-law and she starts ordering and I'm trying to get his attention and he gets upset and stops me from talking. I was trying to inform him about the situation with her but it was not a good experience. He seems to have a short temper which is not good when dealing with customers. read more

This place was absolutely disgusting. Never again will I return. The food is not fresh half it tastes like it's packaged, canned or frozen pre made food. Beans and rice are terrible. My friends and I were in the mood for some good, authentic Mexican food, and this place was nearby and had good Yelp reviews. It's nice, casual little spot where, looking from the outside, you wouldn't expect such a selection (their menu has literally everything you can think of) of great dishes! A big plus for me is that they offer omelettes all day, so I tried the pork option. It was delicious! The pork just melted in my mouth and had that true, authentic flavor. My friends got the flautas, enchiladas, and nachos which they enjoyed thoroughly. I am just bummed I didn't take photos of the food ... they give you A LOT! Andres took excellent care of us, checking on us regularly (and making sure the chip basket, red/green salsas, and our water glasses were full). Excellent service and food. I highly recommend if you're in the Haven City Market center. The food was decent I had a chicken soft taco and garden salad. The salad was a 4/5 and the taco 3/5 because the chicken was cooked a lil too well done. However, the service was good and fast, and I came at a good time because it seems like it gets crowded and they are popular for their food and margaritas. Spectacular Mexican food with giant portions. Chill Mexican restaurant- casual vibes. They keep the chips and salsa coming, and I love their salsas!!! Customer service is top-tier. I ordered a Cadillac margarita with a tahin/chamoy rim and it was spectacular. The Cadillac was huge and got me drunk! Honestly, the best thing for your book right there. We ordered fajitas and enchiladas. Both of our meals ended up having leftovers (especially the fajitas). The food comes out pretty quickly. Prices are good considering how much food you get. We just stopped here for my Mother's Day lunch on the way home from Vegas. Firstly, thank you for offering a regular menu and not forcing us to do a lunch buffet or other set menu. The food was amazing and I've book marked this location for when we are passing through here again. It's a good size restaurant but not huge. Plenty of booths and tables. Clean. Very friendly staff and they were perfectly attentive. Our food was ready so fast. It was fresh and delicious. We tried the combinations, burritos and a taco el pastor. All of them were very yummy. Definitely satisfied my craving for good Mexican food today. The chips and salsa were also great. Two fresh salsas with one being a little spicier and blended vs the other milder, chunkier style. There are a ton of Mexican Restaurants in and around the area and I feel I have tried many of the top recommendations from my fellow Yelpers. However- how is it that I missed out on Cocina Serrano (CS). ??? This place is my new fave because the service, food and ambience just don't get any better. From my first visit here, I had a feeling I had struck gold because they were busy and judging from the interactions btwn the customers and staff, I would say they had ALOT of regulars there. CS is located in the same shopping center as Haven City Market and is actually right around the corner from it next to the Goodwill Store. The restaurant is super clean and the staff extremely courteous and friendly. They provide complementary chips (served warm) and 2 different kinds of salsa. I must warn you though- this is extremely addicting and I usually wind up filling up on chips and salsa that I take my dinner home! Speaking of- I am a super big fan of their chile rellenos, chicken enchiladas and shredded beef tacos. I'm sure everything else on their vast menu is just as delicious, but I can't get away from ordering these 3 items. CS- thank you for your delicious food and hospitality!!!! Came to this restaurant today service was good, but the food was not great. Everything was plain and lacked flavor. Honestly, if I wanted food like this, I could've just had my wife cook at home, and she probably would've done a better job. The only real highlight was the chips and salsa, which were actually pretty solid. The place was clean, and they did have filtered water (big plus in my book), but that's about where the excitement ends. The bill for three people came out to $108 with tip, and for what we got, it was completely not worth it. The quality doesn't match the price I could've gone to El Torito, had better food and better chips and salsa, for less. Overall, nice people, clean spot... but the food just isn't it. May I make a suggestion? When you're working at a restaurant, do not wear perfume or cologne especially a super strong one. Service 101. I personally would not want to come here again but my friend said she'll definitely be back and try other food items like their chicken mole and menudo. I'm spending a lot of time in Ontario these days with a friend of mine that could use the company right now so I'll be making more reviews for the area. I have a great one for pho! I don't think they know what an over easy egg is or how to serve authentic chilequiles. No crema, no cheese.. the carnitas were hard as a rock maybe a couple of days old? (I've been 3 times already) I've had different people and all of them are amazing. The tortillas / chips are fresh and homemade. The salsa is the best I've ever had !! Both Green and Red. ! Red is chunky tomatoes , onions and the flavor is so good , the green salsa is Smokey and spicy but tons of flavor ! I get the chicken tacos and they are delicious! My husband and I have eaten here twice now. The first time my husband ordered take out. He got the Chile Relleno burrito and added carne asada inside ($18.99) and I got the two enchilada entree which came with rice and beans ($16.49). With tax the total came out to $38.23. When my husband arrived home with our dinner, I was still on a conference call for work but decided to dig in. I also tried some of the burrito and it was so tasty. We finished everything! A few days later, we decided to come back again but we dined in this time. The interior had a nice modern feel and intimate setting. Customer service was excellent. We received constant refills for our tortilla chips and sodas. My husband ordered the exact same burrito and I got the carne asada entree this time. Came here in search of a wet burrito and we were not disappointed. A small little cantina with big flavors.I can only assume it is popular among the locals as the place quickly filled up during their lunch. The portions are great. We shared the molcajete and wet burruto between 3 of us and were more than satisfied, taking leftovers for another day. Highly recommend their smoked drink with their oaxacan smokey bitters.
