The way it was going to be prepared was with spring mix, which I don't prefer. I asked for a spicy skinny margarita, and they were able to accommodate me for that as well! Yummy! The reason for the four stars is because the parking lot is extremely dark and sketchy looking. Unfortunately, I don't feel safe outside there. We were looking for a Sunday brunch buffet and decided to try this location. The brunch is $30/adult and $15/child. The food was mediocre but preferred the "on the spot" chef selection where we could order, chilaquiles, fresh tacos, omelets, and quesadillas. The menudo seemed as if it were sitting in the warmer so long it created a dry, thick layer at the top from sitting there for who knows how long. The churros were hard, unsweetened fruits, and dry macaroni salad. The tacos, quesadillas, and chef made eggs were tasteful. The waitress was very attentive and constantly changing out of dishes. Perhaps this day was a fluke as the hostess mentioned they are usually crowded but it was pretty empty when we arrive at 12:30. The do have a pretty large TV in the room next to the bar area and a stage under. Flyers were noted stating Banda on Saturday nights. My Carnitas taco had what I thought was a piece of bone come to find out it was some sort of plastic. But what leaves a sour taste in your mouth is when you leave is finding an extra 3% credit card surcharge added to the bill. In 2026, paying by card is normal and expected. Credit card processing is a standard cost of doing business, not some surprise add-on that should show up at the end of the meal. It's 3%, its not going to bankrupt me or make them a tremendous amount more money, so why do it? If prices need to be higher, just raise the menu prices and be transparent about it. I've been to a few Kalaveras locations, and honestly, I'm just not a fan. The food and drinks have never really impressed me, so I usually only go if I'm invited for a special event. This time, it was a family get-together for Sunday brunch. There's plenty of parking in a private lot, which is definitely a plus. We went for the Sunday buffet brunch, which is $29.99 per person, and $44.99 if you add bottomless mimosas. And of course... you know I had to go the brunch and bottomless mimosas route. The brunch setup included an omelette station, chilaquiles station, and taco station. The buffet itself had a mix of traditional breakfast items like French toast, pancakes, and bacon, along with Mexican dishes like tamales, ceviche, and enchiladas... plus a few random non-Mexican items like pasta. I'm personally not a big fan of buffets. They can feel a little sketchy with so many people handling the same utensils, serving themselves, etc. Brunch runs until 3pm, and it seems like that's really what people come for. During brunch hours, the place was packed. But right at 3pm, it completely cleared out. It was pretty much just our party of 15 and a few other people left. Service was decent. The only bad thing is that they don't offer complimentary chips and salsa for this deal, which I guess makes sense. I also had the Guavarita, which was perfectly made and refreshing. I sampled the mole enchiladas that my cousin ordered and loved the taste! The sauce was rich and had a little kick to it. First time here for Sunday brunch and was very impressed. It was not crazy packed, and they have a good variety of food to choose from. A decent selection such as a taco station where they have tacos and a station to make your omelets, chilaquiles and more! They have great music playing, it was very loud, so you do have to speak louder to speak with your guests as the speakers are right above you. Service was great as they check your refills. Was here last night with a bunch of friends to watch the Mexico vs Ecuador game and we had a blast. However, I have to mention a few things that definitely didn't sit right with me. I ordered the Buffalo wings thinking, how could they possibly get wings wrong. Well they def showed me how. The wings were dry and tasted like they were fried days ago and then just reheated and thrown into the sauce. I ate one more thinking maybe it was just picked up a bad piece but no, they were all like that. My wife said, why would you come to a Mexican restaurant and order wings. And I was like it was on the menu and that is what I felt like. I guess my mistake. And then at the end of the night we get the bill only to find out they added a 3% surcharge for using a CC. I know that some smaller businesses have to do this and I get it. But there was NO mention of it by the server when they ran the CC and honestly an establishment of this size shouldn't have to do that. Why not just offer me a discount when I pay with cash? Isn't that the same thing in a much more palatable way? Adding a surcharge for using a method of payment the "modern" world insists on using seems ridiculous and it seems that I am not the only person to write the same feedback about this. read more

I forgot her name, but she was great I got my picky kid to eat birria tacos and he really enjoyed them which is a win in its own. I got a margarita and my husband got a beer. Beer was cold and the margarita was good. I don't like mine too sweet, so the waitress was nice enough to. Ask the bartender not to make it that sweet without me even asking her! I went to Kalaveras today for my cousin's birthday lunch and we had a private area for the event. I can't speak on any of the planning because I wasn't part of that but I can speak on the food and service! This was my first time at Kalaveras and I was definitely not disappointed. We had a fixed menu for one entree and an appetizer but the entree was more than enough. The birria tacos were delicious. They were so juicy and had a good amount of meat that wasn't dry at all. The consommé was so flavorful and the chili oil took it to the next level. Just insanely good. The red onions are slightly pickled and adds another dimension to the flavor profile which I loved. I initially wasn't going to get a drink but my cousin ordered the Jarrito Loko and it was so refreshing and balanced. The chamoy tajin rim paired with watermelon is a perfect combo, always. And we can't forget about the watermelon slice and tamarind candy!! I wish I caught the name of our server but he was the only one servicing our large party and he did AMAZING. He had help with running the food and drinks out, but in terms of servicing us and handling our orders, he was so kind and patient with us. He had the best attitude and worked so hard which didn't go unnoticed. He made me enjoy my first experience here even more. This location is super spacious and had a nice layout where our section felt private despite not being completely closed off from the rest of the restaurant. It's the perfect space to hold an event! We ordered the dragon roll and molcajete with a Cadillac Margarita and an Ultra. Our server, Anthony, brought our order to us hot (temperature), and they do offer a variety of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). We like our food spicy, and although everyone usually gets it mild, they always accommodate us with spicy habanero. The staff are always attentive and do their best to provide excellent service, even when it is crowded. Our waiter was Anthony, and he always greeted us with a friendly smile and attended to our every need. Even when we haven't been around for a while, he treats us like we were there the day before. They seem to get swamped and busy but given what it is, I'd say they do their best to get things out as fast as they can/communicate pretty well. I like how dark this Kalaveras is, some are more light, but it makes the vibes in here pretty cool. I'd say the food is between a 3.5-4.5/5 stars, it kind of just depends what you order. The drinks are always a 5/5 for at every Kalaveras. Their happy our 3-7pm M-F is also a pretty solid deal! My only complaint is that they put this Kalaveras in such a small parking lot, best of luck parking!! read more

Met up with some friends from out of town and asked for a place with a unique vibe. She brought us here and it didn't disappoint. The interior & exterior paint/decorations was a Dia de Los Muertos theme - very colorful, very traditional. Our server was great and very attentive. We ordered the Queso birria tacos and the carne asada nachos . Both were the perfect size for a little snack. The tacos were SO good, flavorful and delicious. We ordered their Chamoy margarita, tamarindo margarita and Adíos cocktail. All three were very good and not too strong at all. I would recommend coming here for a fun birthday dinner. The beer tasted so delicious and the meat was very soft, the taco was nice and crunchy with cheese, and it came with the side of really spicy chile. As someone who is Mexican and grew up eating this definitely was a hit! I think these pictures are from two different occasions the second time I got the shrimp tacos Gobernador that were also amazing but I think I will stick to the tacos just because they're so good.
