I joined a…read morekickball league and went last night for my first game, and was surprised, excited, and shocked all at the same time. This park is massive, and there are amazing views of the city of Hartford. There is plenty of on-street parking, several fields for games, and just wide, open spaces. I'm looking forward to coming here weekly for my games, and also just to explore, have a picnic, or just to play!

When a guy on the team i was watching got kicked in the head and landed on, a penalty was called on him. this guy was passing out yellow cards left and right to our team and let violent and nasty behavior take place from the other team. I wish they could keep the game fair snd lighthearted so the guys can enjoy playing. Those who show up and take it too far should be penalized. Check your refs!

My only gripe is that some of their officials are not qualified to ref anything above the U10 level and even that's a stretch. If you can't/won't run, you shouldn't be a ref. Also, USSF refs are not skilled enough to ref high school level games unless they're cross certified with HS certification. Bring in refs who are ECSOA certified.

I figure, if I have to pay the fee anyway I may as well give the place a shot. The Rec Center has a large pool, an indoor track, weight room on the first floor, cardio room on the second. There is also an area right when you walk in where you can sit and study. The cardio area is nice because it has really large windows that let light in. It can get hot if you're in the sunlight for too long, but if you mention it the staff can lower some automatic blinds. The shower/ locker room is clean enough. The initial activation process was a hassle because you have to sign an electronic waiver, but you can only access it after watching a safety video and the ric mobile site is pure trash and does not load properly. The woman working the front desk was nice enough to let me use her work computer to complete the process. All in all the whole place is adequate and if your a student at RIC that wants to work out you should use this space.

It's a beautiful, brand new facility that is clean and has a decent amount of equipment. To highlight key points: - Free weights go up to 100 lbs (in increments of 5 lbs) - 2 squat racks - 5 bench press stations (2 incline, 1 decline, and 2 flat bench) - Indoor pool and track field - Plenty of cardio machines upstairs - Decent amount of machines specific to muscle groups (ex: Lat pull down and seated chest press machines). - Clean locker rooms and bathrooms I only have two complaints. One would be the lack of attachments that go along with the jungle pulleys. There are no straight bars, row bars, or v-handles. That truly deters from having variety in a workout and in a away, takes away from a quality workout as well. Additionally, there aren't any unique machines here. It's pretty standard equipment and nothing out of the ordinary. Secondly, the hours of operation need more consistency. The gym is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM, yet every other day of the week (including Friday), they open at 7 AM? Weird. But, it's definitely worth your time to come here. The Rec Center fee per semester is reasonable, and it's such a convenience. I'd recommend this gym to any Rhode Island College student or faculty member, encouraging them to make use of it.

They manage to put a whole lot of features in this park and it is well used in the warm weather and a pleasant place to visit in the winter. The park has sand volley ball courts, baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, basketball courts and even a little pond for skating in the cold weather. The park also has picnic tables and nice pavilion with benches, places to cook as well as bathrooms. There is also a walking path around the park as well as a dog walking trail. A nice community park that really does have something for everyone.

Here isn't seating at the courts, but parents make do with the stage. There are restrooms down the hall, if you happen to be looking. I'm not exactly sure if the building is unlocked most of the time or not. But after you're done with basketball, you can take the kids over to the playground or swimming at the pool ( in the summer that is).

Making sweaters we would have an uncle and cousin visit during the day (after they paid their fee to get in) and they made my guests so uncomfortable with the passive aggressive comments The staff are condescending, an old potato of a woman with blonde hair who takes your money coming in gave my PAYING GUEST a hard time coming in and then had the audacity to charge her twice the daily rate! Normal fee is $8, she charged my friend $15. I heard about 14 passive aggressive comments about my happy doofy husky/pitt bull mix (WHO WE PAID TO HAVE HERE) getting judged and glared at just for existing. I would love to say this a cute community who look out for one another, but this group of people are like those vile religious folk who claim to be loving and kind while they shun and shame anyone who may be different or new. I do not recommend this campground AT ALL. Find a nicer place. The annoyance of residents tattling over the dumbest things truly ruins any relaxation you try to have.
